Floyd chuckles and shakes his head. "Wrong at the wrong time. That just about sums this whole thing up doesn't it? The news crew and your foolish queen, Vince and the strange lady, you and my blade." He says, unsheathing his sword and releasing Ligurio. "Let's go."

The girl sighs. "Well, I did try to stop this without fighting, but I guess that isn't happening. Guards, detain the intruders!"
Battle begins.
The two archers take careful aim at members of the party. (Declaration of intent: Multi-tasking and Dead-Eye Shot)
Multi-Tasking: Take two standard actions, so long as both are At-Will.
Action 1: Dead-Eye Shot (Priority) Action 2: Aiming Down the Sights (+2 Accuracy and Crit Range on the next Weapon Attack made before the user's next turn.)
Dead-Eye Shot: Nothing happens at first. At the end of the round, the user may use their Shift Action and then make a Ranged Weapon Attack and roll twice for Accuracy. You may resolve using either roll, but if you use the lower, and it still hits, it is automatically a Critical Hit.
Archers are 12 meters away, and have the Blur feature. (Attacks that don't normally require Accuracy checks now require one as if they had an AC of 2. Only half of the user's Evasion may be applied to these.)
The Glyph near Scier begins to glow brightly, and a burst of electricity issues forth from it, blasting Ligurio, Scier, and Pancham.
"Pink-haired girl" uses Explosive Runes for 1 AP, launching a Hidden Power from a Glyph she set up. Words of Power allows its shape to be changed from Burst 1 to Cone 2.

"Ridiculous!" Maxine says, turning around and running away at top speed. "They're all determined to die here! Well, they can do it without me. I dunno how many second chances we'll get in this insane place, so I'm taking this opportunity to leave with my life."
She runs all the way back toward the spot where Cottonee first opened up access to this dimension, hoping that there won't be any hard feelings if her crazy colleagues somehow manage to both survive and leave this dimension.

Maxine dashes away before any of the archers can pick her off and flees the strange fairy world. Once back at the portal zone, Cottonee happily opens up the way for Maxine, allowing her to return to the forest on Route 25.

Maxine pauses, looking back to see if, in the distance, anyone else decided to follow her lead.

It seems that none of Maxine's allies decided to follow her. They seem determined to help out the folks who were kidnapped. If nothing else, one could admire their tenacity/loyalty to a friend.

Maxine waits, sure that at least one of the group will appear in the distance at any time on their way to join her as she simply steps across the rift to freedom ... but no one appears. She looks back to the open portal, freedom and safety merely a step way, but something horrible tugs at her from within, making her hesitate.
She looks back and forth from the battle she knows is underway in one direction to the calm, happy Kanto forest in the other direction. Her shoulders slump and her eyes look to the ground as she recalls Cottonee. Without its concentration maintaining the portal, it begins to slowly close. Maxine watches as it shrinks smaller and smaller until it's gone.
"Oh, why am I about to do this?" she says out loud, and then turns around to start sprinting back to the fight and her new friends.
"Oh, man, we're gonna lose, we're gonna lose, we're gonna lose," she keeps repeating, a small tinge of hysteria in her voice, but she makes herself push on regardless, running as fast as she can to rejoin the fight.

Now back in Cerulean City, Dan is quite confused. He looks around and then turns to Floyd and Maxine.
"Um, pardon me, but could someone please explain why I look like I'm half-insect and what exactly is going on here?"

Maxine - her own mind reeling from the rapid-fire events of just moments prior - attempts to recount everything that has happened over the past couple of days. She does her best to send little signals to her fellow townsfolk that everyone is going to be okay, and she also lets her body language tell the police to stick around. They need to hear about this. The two officers that had accompanied everyone to the forest's edge will be delighted to see everyone returned, and the police in general need to see that Maxine and her friends were telling the truth the whole time.

After Maxine's summary, everyone is taken into the Pokemon Center for treatment of their injuries. While there, the police get the whole story from everyone involved. Believing it to be way too Farfetch'd to be a lie, they launch an investigation of the area, even managing to get one of the Elite Four involved; a woman named Anya Tassos. Seems that she is Kanto's resident occult expert. Nobody is entirely sure what she did, only that she went off alone into the woods for a few hours, and then returned stating a guarantee that such events will not happen again. She seems quite curious about Dan's condition (and who wouldn't be), but after studying him for around a day with medical experts in assistance, she deems that his condition is quite stable, and unlikely to be an actual problem. There is bound to be social stigma attached to his appearance, but that's really no different than it has always been for people who are 'different'.
(These events take up a full day, but there is enough time for you to do XP training so that you aren't too far behind on it.)
The strange events of the past day or two are still the talk of the town when all is said and done, but things are already returning to normal. Dan apologizes to the group for what he did while under the Fairy Queen's control, and sometime in the future, he would like to battle each of them again in a more controlled setting. After this, he departs to go and train himself, wanting to get a proper idea of what he is now capable of with these new-found "powers".

Lia spends 'another' day in the hospital, and once she's cleared, takes off without a word from the others. When she's told she needs a day to take it easy, she waves off the nurse. "It's old hat now, I get it."Lia heads to the group ranch, hoping to stay outside the city. She isn't really in a mood to talk to anyone now. She couldn't even lift a finger in that last bit. She was practically salivating to fight the queen, and got blown up as it started. They had to be saved by an angry sister, which makes her feel even worse. If there's stuff like that out there like that Fairy Queen, and she got blown to hell in seconds, and there was something that made that 'Queen' terrified, how's Lia supposed to hold up? She spends the 'off-day' just training and hanging out with her pokemon at the ranch. Lia was already told she doesn't have to be at the Gym today, they get what happened. As the others train, she just stares off into space. Her end-game goal, Lilith, seems just so damn far now. The whole day passes, and the next day comes, and more morning training, but this time she's healthy enough to do her own. But this time there's something different. Getting beat down to unconsciousness over and over again is stirring something inside Lia's mind. Her pokemon notice, especially Scier. There's a fire there, that's burning with intensity. As she's training, she starts to go far beyond what's needed, and Scier needs to ching near her to get Lia's attention. "Shoot, sorry Scier. Caught up in the moment I guess."Lia looks away, but the little psychic type can sense something 'mean' woke up in her master. But she doesn't say anything as Lia shuffles her team around a bit and heads off into the nearby woods to find some pokemon. 2 days xp training to: Los Halas Muszla
Brutual Training on everyone.

Vincent can only look on as Lia leaves without a word. He's too caught up in his own emotions to stop her and ask how she is doing, not that this would likely have ended well at that particular moment in time. Vincent has already been discharged, but he's still hanging out in the hospital aimlessly sitting in the reception area. His thoughts should be of moving forward, of improving, but his mind is focused on one thing and one thing only. That horrible defeat at the hands of the Queen, Ceanna and the brainwashed Dan. He can't help but dwell on how utterly outclassed the group had been, such that they had lost two people before even a single opponent had been taken down. I walked into that throne room so confident I- we, could win it all and save everyone. I shouldn't have underestimated the Queen, that girl or Dan. I shouldn't have overestimated myself. Memories of all the times he'd been cocky and/or arrogant flood into his mind. That has got to change. I can't be like that anymore. Underestimating people gets me sent to the hospital, that's a pretty clear sign to change. Well, I'm being a little hard on myself. Now that I think about it, I haven't lost very much recently. I guess it's normal to start thinking of yourself as better than most people after that. I wonder if that's how a Champion thinks. Do they just see themselves as better than everyone else, or do they see everyone as a potential threat to their position? I should be more like that. I should act like the Champion I want to be, even if I'm clearly not strong enough to be there yet. I'm still 6 badges away from the attempt, I'm sure I can get to that level by the time I have 8 badges. My focus hasn't changed. I'm going to be Champion one day. I'll get those eight badges and reach a Champion level of skill, because being as good as the Elite Four is great, but that doesn't put me on par with Champion Lillith.Revitalized by his thoughts, Vincent gets up and heads to a training field. He trains all of the Pokemon he has on him and then trains his 'reserves' too. Vincent finally gets around to transferring all of his Pokemon to the shared Ranch and cancelling the contract that caused part of his family land to be occupied. The teen spends the day with his Pokemon, paying special attention to Machiavelli and Ryker, who haven't been out of their Pokeballs for a while. The day passes quickly. The next day, Vincent once again trains all of his Pokemon, on the team and off, and then decides that it's time to catch some new Pokemon. He walks through the city looking for anything that stands out. Vincent applies EXP, Brutal and Focused Training to all of his Pokemon.

Floyd imatiently endures the attention of the police and the nurse, wishing they'd just let him go and challenge the gym once more. Noting Lia's anger and Vincent's introspection he remains silent, plotting strategies for the future.
The next day he leaves without a word and heads for the gym.

The Gym is exactly as it was the last time Floyd was there. Why would it be any different? Despite your 'absence' as it were, the Gym Trainers remember you and allow you to rematch Aleisandra immediately. She gives you a pleasant greeting, and then dives into the pool with her Wartortle, ready to begin.

Lia sighs as she retrieves the pokeball with the Butterfree in it, and goes to shake up Scier.
"Come on, you did good Scier, wake up."
As the Chimecho wakes, Lia turns and heads toward the city, knowing when Scier shakes it off, she'll follow. Once there, she obtains a few more pokeballs so she's not heavily low.
(Spending 1000, buying 4)
Once that, she looks back out into the streets, and still not ready to bump into the others, she combs the streets for someone.

(Catching up with Maxine)
The night of the return to her home dimension, Maxine got a Berry from Tropius.
The next day, Maxine spent her time recovering. She still oversaw her Pokémon's training, though, and she still had Chimchar and Aipom scour the area for something nice. She gets a Sun Stone (which is going straight into the shared thread) and a Berry. She got another Berry from Tropius that night.
Now, the next day, she actually feels like she can get back out there. She makes sure her team is trained and Focused again, and her Chimchar and Aipom go look for stuff again. Today she gets a Full Heal and another Berry.
She heads up to Route 24 and looks for anything good. She finds yet another Berry. After that, she looks for something wild to capture.

Lia, after she wakes, just silently pays the trainer before switching her party and heading south on Route 5. She stomps out of the city, seemingly more furious than ever, but takes a moment to look back at the city. She gives a very tired and pained sigh and continues south.
Along the way she'll take the time to look for more pokemon.
