Vincent puts his mask of obedience back on and allows the guards to shoo him out of the prison area. When his day is over, Vincent feels even more annoyed than usual. He simply can't get used to the lack of a night in this place. The dark is where Vincent and most of his Pokemon feel most comfortable after all.

Flare concentrates so hard that Lia swears she sees smoke coming outta his ears for a few seconds. After a minute or so of intense concentration, Flare gives up. It can't seem to find anything odd.

Meanwhile, Maxine nods and releases her new Cottonee, willing to do her part and try anything.
"Hello," she says. "Sorry that we hurt you before. But you're on the good guys' side now and we won't do that again. We're looking for our friend." She describes Vincent. "Have you seen him?"

The still injured Cottonee thinks for a moment, then confirms that a human matching Vincent's rough description was here. It and the other Cottonee were under instructions to defend this area from intruders using statuses.

It can, but says that you don't want to go there. The Queen of Air and Darkness dwells within, and doesn't like intruders. If you really want to go there, it can show you how to reach it, but it seems to strongly recommend against it.

"Show us the way, little Cottonee, and then you'll go safely back into your Poké Ball. We have to find our friend, no matter the danger."

Cottonee does as requested by its new Trainer. It leads you not far from the ambush site before stopping. It concentrates for a moment, then begins to glow brightly; temporarily blinding any watching. When the light fades and you can see again, there is a shining city standing just beyond some sort of... portal? The city isn't even *in* the regular world, as it turns out. That certainly explains a few things. Cottonee can guide you no further, as it has never been within the city without a guide of its own.
Group A
At the moment that your group steps through into the 'Realm of Fey', as Cottonee called it, you hear some sort of high-pitched screech, followed by a woman's voice echoing across the city's expanse.
"INTRUDERS! HOW DARE you trespass in my domain! Guards! Seize them!"
She sounds just a bit upset that you're there. Several armored warriors suddenly materialize before you, each with a Fairy-Type Pokemon by their side.
Vincent
While going about your normal "pretend to serve willingly" routine, you hear a faint shriek in the distance, some sort of alarm system has been triggered. You hear the Queen's voice echo throughout the city, calling for the guards to apprehend the intruders. Seems the cavalry has finally arrived.

"Such a warm welcome." Floyd says with a smile. "As your honoured guest I'll respond in kind. Mala, carpe jugulum." He orders, sending out his Durant.

Maxine nervously releases Remoraid for protection. Even though the little Water-type can't take a hit, she still thinks that it may fare better than Pancham in this land of fairies.

As they go through the portal, Lia's mind reels.
"Why couldn't the Hood just got captured by normal criminals? This is literally a pocket universe or something. I mean what sense does that make? OW. Ow. My head."
As Lia complains, Flare flaps up, ready to go all assault mode.

Vincent grins. For the first time actually appreciates hearing the voice of that high and mighty queen, as it confirms that the moment he has been waiting for has come. The faint shriek in the distance is music to his ears. Vincent runs to his room and packs all of his things, figuring he shouldn't change just yet because he might stand out too much if he did. He spares a moment's thought for Dan and the news crew, reminding himself to help them get out of here too. There are two things Vincent thinks he needs to do. Number one is break the Queen's spell over Dan and everyone else. He hopes that would require actually fighting the queen and knocking her out. Number two, is to free the prisoners. If he can get Floyd, Lia and Maxine's help, maybe they can fight past the guards. If not, his original plan of going back to Cerulean City to get the police was still valid.
First though, he had to help the 'intruders'. If they lost, everything was over. Vincent trusted them enough to be fine without him, but he couldn't see himself just idly standing by while they fought.
With his priorities set, Vincent left the room in a hurry, heading for the center of the commotion. He simply followed the guards that were heading towards his friends. Vincent hoped that the group had fared well against the guards there undoubtedly had already gotten there.

Vincent
After a minute or two of following guards in the wrong direction as they go to defend other areas of the city, you finally hear the sounds of combat. Up ahead you see your friends fighting a difficult battle against the 1st wave of guards and their bulky fairy type Pokemon. You arrive just in time to see a guard deflect Lia's latest attack with their shield, followed by them gearing up for another wave of attacks.

Aftermath
With the final guard and the surprisingly resilient Togetic finally defeated, it seems that Vincent and Floyd must determine how to proceed from here. Lia and Maxine will be unconscious for at least the next half hour, giving plenty of time for more guards to show up or for the city defenders to congregate around the palace, making it that much more difficult to get in to defeat Queen Ithilmia.

Floyd wipes his blade clean and sheathes it, recalling Calyx and walking over to Lia to check on her injuries. "That could've been worse." He says to Vincent. "Looks like Lia will be up in less than an hour. Do we try and press on while carrying our comrades, or shall we find somewhere to hole up for a little?"

Scier floats around the unconscious Lia, fussing about and concentrating real hard, hoping that she could tap into healing abilities her species are supposed to have.

After some thought, Vincent suddenly recalls an outlying structure that is meant mainly for healing up local Wild Pokemon. It is only lightly guarded at the best of times, and with this 'invasion crisis' thing going on, they likely pulled guards off of non-essential places like that in order to defend more important locations. Like the Palace. With some help from their Pokemon, Vincent and Floyd are able to locate the place and quickly overpower the token guard left to prevent the healing font's 'misuse'.
The party is able to rest for a maximum of 2 hours (which we're just going to say is enough to heal up to 3 injuries and restore all AP/Scene Frequency stuff).

Scier gives Lia a hug (With the appropriate chinging) as she wakes up. She lifts up, and looks very groggy.
"Ugh. What the hell did I get run over by?"

Seeing Lia come back to consciousness, Vincent smiles slightly, though there is some worry in the expression. "A group of brainwashed guards, I suppose," he says dryly. "You should be feeling better now. Floyd and I found this place which is great for healing up."
