"That's fine, man. I'll check around." Max starts checking out the most logical places he can think of - the lab (maybe Oak knows something), home (maybe his mom needs some work done or knows someone who does), and the Pokémon Center (maybe there are jobs posted or something).

- Professor Oak appears to barely do anything anymore at all, so he doesn't need help.
- Your mom has plenty of chores she could use your help with (of course she does), and is willing to pay small amounts (
P25 - P75) to "encourage" you to help. - The Pokemon Center has a job board, and it's nearly always full, but most of the jobs aren't that interesting. Mostly hot-headed newbie trainers looking for battles with the potential for small wagers (
P150-200). - The most interesting jobs come from the self-proclaimed "Adventurer's Guild", but their best jobs are reserved for members only. They have an entrance fee of
P500, however, and they always insist on people coming down to Saffron to sign up in the first place.
Any number of tasks await completion, it's up to Max to determine which ones are worth it. |

She smiles in such a way that only a mother can, somehow guilting you into the job, even if you would have said yes anyway. How do moms always do that? It's maddening!

Right away you notice several large holes through the garden. Whatever is doing this is pretty big, so it's unlikely to be Rattata or other pokemon commonly found in cities. You don't see the culprit, or any real evidence pointing at what it may be at first glance. Perhaps a more thorough search is in order?
You may make a Perception check to try and find further clues.

Peeking around the side of his house, Max can see JoJo and Kyo in the distance. Since it looks like their battle has only just begun, Max gets back to his first idea of hiding somewhere and watching the garden.

((It was going to be until the battle between JoJo and Kyo finished, but that wrapped up more quickly than I thought it would, so he'll need to find out from them how much longer he can go.))
Max leans back and sees that JoJo and Kyo's battle is over. He can't see their Pokémon from his position, so he wonders who won. He waves a few times until he gets the attention of at least one of them and then waves them over so that they know to come find him as soon as they don't have anything else going on, like healing up and such.

Twice Max opened his mouth to speak, But JoJo was going a mile a minute, and then she was gone, leaving Max to only guess at what she could have meant by making startup cash, and whether she meant for the group or just for herself. In any case, Max decides to try again, flagging down Kyo this time so he can tell the aspiring Researcher what's going on and find out if it's okay for him to be staking out his mom's garden all day.

JoJo manages to attract a few customers, but not as many as hoped. Many were attracted by the banner, but seemed to just be "lookie-loos". After a few hours, she has sold only 1 each of her Stylistic Fashions and related Accessories.
