The durable Steel Luxio finally goes down under the constant barrage of blows, growling weakly as it collapses. A few hours later, the unnamed Trainer begins to stir. She groans in pain as she comes to, holding her head.
"Oh damn.. looks like they had a lot more Pokemon leftover." She notices the unconscious Vincent and gives him a swift kick in the ribs as she recalls her Pokemon, not caring about the dirty look his Umbreon gives her.
"Please. You don't scare me. It's what he gets for punching me in the face. I wasn't really going to feed his buddy to Ariados. Ariados doesn't even like human. It's called a 'scare tactic'." She scoffs.
"Why am I explaining this to an Umbreon? All it knows is my Pokemon hurt its master after they hit me. Guess I gotta get more Pokemon on my team for next time. I've already stayed here too long wasting time on these idiots... they don't even know what's going on behind the scenes here. They wouldn't understand it anyway. All they know is the Gym Challenge."
She sighs as she picks up her bag and steps over the unconscious forms of the 3 trainers who stumbled blindly into Ariados's Security Web. She glances back briefly, the 3 conscious Pokemon watching her carefully.
"If it took all 3 of them, plus... what? 5 or 6 Pokemon to beat me, they don't stand a chance against the later Gyms. Let alone the Champion." She shakes her head.
"Get a hold of yourself, Vali, it's time to go."
With that, she limps slowly out of the cave, and onward to Cerulean City.

Within an hour of her departure, Vincent, Lia, and Floyd begin to stir, to the excitement and relief of their various Pokemon.

Lia wakes up face-down staring at the hard rock floor. She coughs as her consciousness returns, spitting up a glob of darkened blood. She weakly turns her head to scan the room.
"...we dead?"
Lia struggles to push herself up, as Glosny rushes to her side; trying to inform her that they won against whoever they were fighting(as the Whismur herself is ill-informed of what was actually going on). Giving up on standing for now, Lia flips herself over into just a sitting position.
"Yeah... okay Glosny. Didn't ask if we 'won'. Asked if we were dead or not."
She wipes her mouth with the back of her hand, wincing at the blood now smeared on it.
"Cause that's how I feel right now. How about you two, alive over there?"
She looks at Vincent and Floyd, hoping that they are in better shape than she is.

Vincent comes to consciousness very groggily and lets out a grunt of pain when he moves, hand going to his side. What the hell, did I hurt myself falling? Vincent looks around but there is no sign of the enemy Trainer. Eventually he shrugs, causing another small grunt of pain.
He looks at the others and beckons Nox over, who slinks closer slowly. "I'm feeling pretty alive right now," Vincent answers Lia as he gingerly touches his side. His hand then moves from his ribs to Nox' head, softly petting the fur. Nox goes still and stiff for a moment, before relaxing, almost collapsing into Vincent's arms. "Good work Nox, you kept us safe, right?" Vincent asked, smiling. Nox made no move to answer, simply enjoying the petting. Vincent has to chuckle a little. He stops and gets up slowly after a few more moments, saying, "Don't want you to get too used to this, can't have you getting spoiled after all."
Nox seems noticeably more relaxed. Maybe some petting was all he needed to really accept me as his Trainer, Vincent thinks. How does a wild Umbreon happen anyway? I wonder if maybe he's had a Trainer before. Vincent suppresses the urge to shake his head. These are thoughts for another time, when everyone is in better shape.

Floyd grunts in response to the others, grabbing his axe and looking warily around.
"We're still alive, so I guess we won." He says , accepting they were fine and looking at Telum. "Well done. But next time you can assume that any defeated opponent doesn't get to leave until we're awake." He pauses and stands, grimacing as his wounds ached.
"So we met a criminal with impossible pokemon. Sounds like those sand people you fought Lia. Did she have them last tuime you fought her Vincent?" He asks the others.

"No, she had normal Pokemon last time we battled," Vincent replies. "Perhaps she and the sand ninjas are connected somehow. Honestly it feels like we're missing something, some kind of link." Vincent pauses and stretches. "Well, in any case I doubt this is the last we've seen of her. Who knows, maybe we can get her to answer some questions next time."

After recalling your KO'd Pokemon, and taking stock of your supplies (which are surprisingly intact this time, Vincent notes), your group limps along Route 4, finding that it is nearing dusk at this time. This means you have been unconscious for approximately 3-4 hours, depending on how long you spent actually exploring the "safe" interior of Mt. Moon. You stagger into the Cerulean Pokemon Center about an hour later (normally a 20 minute walk at most, but your injuries prompt you to "play it safe"), where Nurse Luna is shocked at the state you and your Pokemon are in. Especially Lia.
"However did this happen? Were you attacked by a swarm of Zubat or something?"

Lia slumps into a chair once they get in, clearly not wanting to move anymore. She looks to the surprised nurse as they enter.
"Zubats were ONE of the swarms that attacked us. They were the last ones but they followed Carbink, Duskull, Torkoal, and then a crazy woman who tried to sick her spider on my friend here. And... and... I'm feeling really tired now. Just gonna..."
Lia shifts to the side, nearly falling out of the chair. It's clear to anyone looking that Lia has got NOTHING left in the tank, even to hold this conversation.

"'A crazy woman'? What was she talking about? Is it something that we should speak to the police about?"

"Probably." Floyd says. "She was threatening to feed us to her Ariados and possessed an unusual ghost type Charmeleon along with a third steel type none of us saw." Floyd says, looking at Vincent as he starts to bandage his wounds.
"Vincent ran into her before, in Viridian Forest."

"A... Ghost-Type Charmeleon? Strange... Anyway! You both should come on back and get yourselves patched up. I promise I'll take good care of your Pokemon." She smiles sweetly.

Vincent can't see a fault in Nurse Luna's logic. "Thank you," he says, as he makes to either follow the nurse or go to the place she specified. He takes off his belt and hands the nurse all of his Pokeballs. Only three of his Pokemon actually need healing, but it doesn't hurt for the others to get a check-up too.
