On the other side, the Fairy Realm remains pretty much the same as you last saw it. Perpetually sunny, with shiny, fancy architecture and all that stuff. Orpheus enters first, followed closely by Kaeda, leaving Vincent to bring up the rear. After the disorientation of extra-planar travel wears off, you come to a startling realization: you are inside the palace. Last time you entered, the portal led to the outskirts of the city. Maybe it's because you forced it open last time and this time you were allowed access? Who knows.
Waiting for you just on the other side is the pink-haired girl and her pet Espeon.
"Greetings. As I mentioned before, I am Ceana; personal assistant to Her Majesty, the Queen. This here, is my beloved Espeon: Ialach. The Queen would speak with you concerning your mission here." When your expressions change to one of concern, she waves her hand dismissively. "Fret not, she does not plan to hinder you at this time. She merely wishes to meet your Fairy Pokemon to ensure they are looking in the right place. Please, follow me."

Kaeda marvels at the "new world" she is in. As dangerous as her teammates said it was, this was quite the beautiful place indeed. After a minute of taking in her surroundings, Kaeda turned to Ceana. "Greetings, and our thanks for allowing us in. Please lead the way." Kaeda gives a small nod to Vince. They made it this far, and they were not dead. She links arms with Orpheus to keep her from wondering off, and follows after Ceana.

Vincent nods somewhat curtly at Ceana. He's staying polite, but he can't help but remember that she was an accessory to the kidnapping of Dan and himself. He follows without a word.

As you are escorted to the throne room, you can occasionally hear whispers among the varied servants milling about in the hallways. Servant #1: "Wow. Those are outsiders? What horrid fashion sense."Servant #2: "Why are those outsiders here? What could the Queen be planning?"Servant #3: "She's not planning anything you dolt! Don't say such things!"Servant #4: "Shh! That's the Queen's Adviser escorting them. Don't let her hear you say anything negative about the Queen!"If Ceana hears any of these whisperings, she doesn't show it. She merely continues on in silence. After around 10 minutes of walking, you eventually reach a set of large double doors flanked by heavily armored guards. This must be the entrance to the Throne Room. The Adviser bids you wait just a moment while she announces your arrival to the Queen. Moments later, she returns and states that the Queen will see you now. The young Queen slouches in her throne, obviously bored. She perks up slightly as the group approaches. "Oh, so you're back? Here I thought I'd never see you again, Vincent. Ceana tells me you are here to search for Mega Stones for your Pokemon? I did not realize you worked with any Fairies." |

Keada takes a breath as she takes in the grand throne room. Being rich was more different than royalty than she could have imagined. She takes a moment to establish a telepathic connection to Vince. "Vince, can you hear me? I think we'll be able to cooperate like this. Trust me, and we should get out this safely." Keada unconsciously gulps as she finally meets this queen she has heard about. Still, got to keep face. Kaeda bows in front of the queen. "Greetings. It is an absolute honor to meet you, and be allowed into your kingdom, your majesty. I'm Kaeda Starwood." She looks to Vincent with a stern glare, snaps her fingers, and points to the ground. "You bow too. Don't meet her eyes, ok? Try and look sorry." Turning back to the queen, "I'm also aware of that you are acquainted with my man-servant. I do not require him at my side at all times, but I didn't think he would garishly wreak havoc on this beautiful kingdom. The guilt, and embarrassment are mine to bear." She bows deeply again. "And, yes, we do work and live happily with our fairy pokemon. My Gardevoir has been with me since childhood, and upon reaching this point in evolution, has begun to be pulled and called out to. I believe this to be her seeking out her Mega Stone. My man-servant's Mawile is in a similar situation. We hope we could be blessed by obtaining these stones if you so allowed it, your majesty."

Vincent stills himself before he can shoot an incredulous look at Kaeda. Is this really going to work? he wonders. He stays quiet so as not to disrupt the gambit.

A voice inside of Kaeda's head whispers: "I know you are lying. Be glad that The Mistress has ordered me only to monitor you, else I would happily turn you into a gibbering buffoon on the spot." Kaeda (and Orpheus, since she's psychically linked to you) instantly recognize the touch of another Psychic Pokemon. Ceana's Espeon seems the most likely culprit, but it doesn't seem to be paying attention to them, being far more interested in grooming itself.
(You may roll Focus to try and determine the source of the voice if you wish.)
If the Queen knows you are lying, she doesn't show it. Instead, she merely smiles.
"Oh, what lovely manners you have. How sweet of you to stand up for him. It is not necessary, however, as I was the one who drew him here in the first place." She pauses a moment, considering her next words. "It's my unfortunate burden as Queen to eventually have heirs, you see. However, there are none within my realm who are... capable... of such acts. I'm not fond of males, but they do serve a purpose. So allow me to offer you a deal: I will allow you, Miss Starwood, to search freely for your Gardevoir's Mega Stone. Your "manservant", however, must prove his strength to me. For personal reasons. Regardless of outcome, I will allow him to also search for his Mega Stone. The battle's outcome only affects whether I will have further use for him or not."
She smiles a little wider, allowing this statement to sink in.

Focus Check to find mystery mind reader!: KLyQuYAX6d6 Kaeda bites her cheek, but doesn't break character. "Hmph...So violent for a little fib. He might not be my servant, but i'm not lying about why we are here." She doesn't move her attention from the queen, but she rubs Orpheus's arm for her to try, and find who this is. Kaeda continues to smile and nod along with the queen as she talks, but as reaches a certain topic, Kaeda can't help but tilt her head. When asked for Vince to potentially show more than just his worth, some of her spit goes down the wrong pipe, and Kaeda nearly has a coughing fit. She blushes, but tries to hide her shock by looking at Vince quizzically. "Oooohhh myyyyyyy gooooooooddddd! V-Vince! She wants to....to....you know! B-But we do get to look for the mega stones, right? Hmmmm....Well, win or lose, we get to look, right? I-I think you'll be fine....r-right?.......I'm sorry!" Kaeda turns back to the queen. "Oh! Why of coarse! I completely understand your situation. Let it never be said that you are not more than generous, your majesty. Now, Vincent." Kaeda snaps her fingers. "Win or lose, don't be less than excellent in front of the queen. Go!" "OhgoshI'msoooosorry! Good luck!"6d6 |

On mindreaders: Kaeda is able to determine that it is not, in fact, the Espeon doing the talking. The Espeon is merely a relay of sorts. A way to trick less-experienced psychics and make it overall more difficult to find the actual speaker. All Kaeda is able to determine is that the speaker is not in the room.

The next day Floyd looks at the Celadon Gym again before shaking his head and walking away, heading for Fuchsia and one of the closest gyms that'll let him challenge it.

Vincent is taken completely by surprise by this development of events. She wants me to...? At first a blush had begun rising up his neck, but after the cold realization that she would just as likely have done this to him rather than with him stopped it in its tracks. If I had allowed her to mind control me, would she have done it anyway?
Vincent looked up at the Queen neutrally, not even capable of displaying the kind of disgust that he was feeling right now. A wave of nausea hit him, as he considered that Dan had been completely mind controlled into being her underling. Did she do something to him? No, if that was the case she wouldn't need me anymore... Maybe she wouldn't do that to mind controlled people. Perhaps I was rash in thinking her that kind of monster.
Then Kaeda practically volunteered him for the acts and Vincent began to get truly angry with her for the first time since he met her. How dare you... he thought but didn't say. He couldn't afford to show discord in their ranks in front of the Queen. Vincent tried to calm down. It's ok... she wasn't here for the things that happened, doesn't know what the Queen did to Dan. She doesn't understand. I'm not sure even I fully understand.
With all this in mind, it was time to speak. Vincent gathered his thoughts. "I accept your challenge. As for the other part of the deal... While I appreciate you allowing us to search for Mega Stones, I'm afraid I simply cannot give my consent at this time." I'll never forget that you mind controlled Dan, took away his freedom, even if he was just bait for me. We both know I'm never coming back here after this.

The Queen laughs as Ceana visibly pales at Vincent's response. "Your consent? This is a privilege that you have the chance to earn. Luckily for you, I'm feeling merciful. Normally I don't allow such... rudeness, but I'll let it slide this one time. Oh, and this time? My sister isn't here to interrupt us."
She gets up from her throne as an arena seems to materialize out of nowhere in the center of the throne room. Her clothing shimmers and changes into something less regal. Likely to make fighting easier. She produces a small wand from somewhere on her person, along with a Poke Ball.
"Fleur, dear, why don't you get us started?" She tosses the ball into the air. When it opens, a blue Florges appears on the field. "Begin with a Lucky Chant for me, please?" The Florges turns to her and nods, acknowledging the command.

After a protracted battle, the Queen ends up being victorious over Vincent. His Dark-Type Pokemon were powerful, but her self-healing Fairies out-lasted him. In the end, it was the Queen's surprise Mega Altaria combined with a last burst of power from her that sealed his fate.
Ceana actually looks somewhat relieved that Vincent lost, though it's unclear why.
"Well," the Queen breathes "that was certainly something. A pity you lost. It seems you aren't what I'm looking for after all. As promised, you may search for your Mega Stones now. Ceana will escort you around. Can't have outsiders just wandering about unsupervised after all."

Vincent nods stiffly. Damn, I wanted to beat her, if only to prove that she isn't as great as she probably thinks she is. But... and I'm surprised to be thinking like this, but I think losing here might have been a good thing in the end. The way she was talking she may have forced me to... well. I'm glad that's not going to happen anymore. I guess not every loss is a bad thing.
With that revelation, Vincent silently moved to follow Ceana.

Ceana leads the pair outside of the city, into what she calls "The Feywild". She states that if their Mega Stones are in this realm, they are likely to be out here someplace. From here, she is merely there to ensure they can find their way back to the city and thus the exit back to the "regular" world when their quest is finished.

Kaeda nods, and looks to Vincent. "Alright then. We'll meet back up here when we are done. Good luck." She keeps arms linked with Orpheus, and motions to move along. "Come on, Orphy. Let's finally put this to rest." Orpheus nods, and follows by Kaeda's side.

Vincent nods back at Kaeda. "Hmm, I don't know if splitting the party is such a good idea, but it would help us find our respective mega stones faster most likely. Good luck." Carlin still by his side, as the fight had been for him as well as for Vincent, Vincent brought out some Enriched Water, which he gave to his Pokemon to drink and to wash his wounds. Vincent starts heading for his own path once Carlin is back at full health.

Orpheus' eyes seem to gloss over for a moment and she quickly begins pulling you in the direction of the nearby woods. She excitedly communicates to you that she can feel her stone in this direction.
Vincent
Carlin stands perfectly still for several minutes after drinking the offered water. Then he begins walking in the opposite direction of Kaeda and Orpheus. After walking several miles, you see a single mountain appear seemingly out of thin air. There is no visible entrance from this side, but Carlin seems to believe his Mega Stone is within.

"W-Whoa! I get it! Calm down!" Keada has to keep a firm grip on Orpheus to keep her from running off. She stays right behind her, and letting Orpheus go where where she needs to go.
