What would she need to beat the gauntlet (again)? Same thing as last time would probably work well, with just some minor adjustments ...

Kaeda waves. "Goodbye, Floyd. Do be safe, and keep in contact, please." He probably wont, but if anyone could handle themselves...Kaeda sighed, and thought about what she needed to be doing. "I also have to be challenging gyms again, huh? I have two left....Perhaps I should fly out to Cinnabar." She can already feel her stomach turning from having to take on that hyper aggressive gym leader.

Jane returns in the late afternoon with a big smile on her face. Yeah I showed them! She had once more proved that she was fit to face the gym leader! Now it was just that tiny detail of there being a gym leader that stood between herself and the triumph of another badge!

And know more about it. Plus be strong enough to face it. It would be a pain if it just punted her into the next dimension or something - maybe that world wouldn't be so hospitable. No - she needed to prepare. "But I should probably focus on learning more and getting stronger first. Hmh. Unless it moves around often? What do you think?"

"Mm..." Jane makes some general affirmative noise. She really wasn't sure how she was supposed to find it even if she knew what area it hung around in. But maybe - with a bit of luck - Floyd would have some "find legendaries using only very vague descriptions" tricks to share. Though she doubted that "just axe everything until you find it" would work vs Hoopa.
"Oh anyhow - how has your day been?" she tosses her own problems and plans to the back of her mind for a little while and stretches in the chair.

"Kaeda ran off to Cinnabar a bit ago. Aleisandra and her lady came over to hang out for a bit and help me make some new tail-friendly outfits. Other than that I've just been figuring out my powers and hanging around the ranch."
She sighs.
"And I decided I'm staying with Cerulean. I'll just have to deploy some anti-water measures for my tails somehow."

"Oh? You are? That's nice I think! Having something normal will be helpful right?" She leaned back again and pondered how one would keep a fox dry in water. "Maybe if you ran around in a gigantic plastic ball? Oh but you'd still need to breathe ... What a bother! Hmm. I wonder if a Water Brace would be enough? What do you think? Wanna test it?"

Lia's tails quiver a little bit in reaction.

Jane continues before she really has an answer.
"I mean a water brace won't be enough methinks. Just helps dampen attacks. Not un-dampen fur. I believe there was talks of tail protectors or just staying far from the pool. I don't know. It will be nice to go back though."

Just wrap some cloth around her and then stab-stab-stab with the needle and done! Why hadn't she thought about this before? Hmm. Oh but that was something for the future. Maybe tomorrow? For now they had that other problem to solve! "Or you could just dry yourself after you get wet. If you only had some way to generate a lot of heat at will ..."

"Well maybe we should fix that instead - some way to quickly groom a bunch of tails! That'd solve the problem *and* allow for more sleeping in the morning. Or hmm..." A mischievous smirk appeared and was wiped away just as quickly. Jane steeples her fingers. "...You could shave them. Or just use a trimmer! They'd dry really fast then plus you don't have to groom them much. Heh."
Somehow she doubted Lia would go down that road. But the mental image was *ah* interesting (and hilarious) to say the least. "Mm. I think I'll try the challenge tomorrow. Do some generic prep - give it a fair shot - and see what happens. Though usually it takes some adaptation so I don't count on getting that badge just yet... Though it would be nice. Oh hmm. Are you doing the league challenge too? Or just working at the gym? Got any pointers?"

"No yeah I did the league challenge before... and then I quit for a while... and I guess I'm back."
Lia makes a face, doesn't seem like she's entirely comfortable bringing it up.
"For Saffron, really I don't remember too many shenanigans. Just a lot of fighting. Don't over-think it, I guess? Maybe focus on the physical side."
