Can do Wild Encounter rolls if you want us to. Would I need to clarify that I'm looking for a Scyther specifically? Does that modify what the results of the roll will be at all?

Yeah, Scyther is good, but you know Jax is a capture kind of guy. He'd like to fill in the Pokédex as much as he can, so he would also like to encounter the Beedrill he knows is here somewhere and the Weedle and Wurmple that he's pretty sure are here as well. Since he gets the data from his two friends' Pokédexes, he doesn't have to personally encounter, battle, and capture all of these species. He would just like their entries unlocked.

No rolls are necessary for the first encounter this time around. Because of the time limit I have imposed, there will be a maximum of 4 encounters for the party before it becomes "too dangerous". At least one of those will likely be a scyther. Weedle/Wurmple are common enough that they can be bumped into at any time. Also, to clarify the "it's dangerous in the forest at night", imagine wandering around blindly in the forest, then stumbling into a near-invisible spider web. You look up and realize... this web belongs to an Ariados.

Didn't realise Madviser posted, but I edited an encounter roll into my post, just a notice since edits are easily missed.

No, Vincent never threw the ball. He's posting actions that depend on how his Pokémon fares. Since he's following the rules and not taking more Action Types than he can in a single round, he means that he will toss the ball if Vel's attack hits, or he will attack the Mankey himself if Vel misses, but he's not doing both.
Since Vel missed, no ball was ever thrown and Mankey should still be suspended in the air.
Also, 'Masked man' never mentioned wanting to catch this one.

Red is correct. I've already posted following your post Raven, but if allowed, I'd like to ignore the capture roll in the previous post (so only the Sucker Punch happened) and make edit one into my latest post.

You know, I really need to start paying closer attention to stuff, and stop assuming. Of course, Sucker Punch can be an Interrupt, so in this case it all works out.
Doesn't seem like there is actually a way for anything to break out of Abra's hold based on the book. In light of that, for the future I will have to find a way to make that possible. Unless someone can point me to where it says "this is how you break out of a Telekinetic hold."

Opposed athletics/focus check? I was thinking of that, actually. The book may not explicitly state anything (far as I could tell), but that seems an appropriate method. Just have the opposing pokemon roll athletics or focus (whichever is higher) to escape.

Oh! I misunderstood and thought Raven meant for us all to roll, but JoJo in particular already noticed something.

Actually, man, that could be correct. I assumed it to be just JoJo, but it could just as easily be what you assumed. Which is it, GM?

What I said was what I meant. JoJo was the one who got the eerie feeling of being watched/followed. If she mentions it, then you may both roll to try and help her search. There don't seem to be any rules on "assisting another's skill check", so I'll just allow each player to roll separately to beat the posted stealth check if JoJo mentions anything.

What about Telepathics who constantly read the surface thoughts of all lifeforms in the area?

That might let you know something is there, but not necessarily pinpoint it. I'd say a DC 10 Focus for Abra to give a general location. Since whatever you are being stalked by would likely be wary of anything.

So, how do you guys like the game so far? Is it everything you hoped? I know we had a bit of a rocky start, but things should be smooth sailing as far as playing the game goes now.

It's been great so far. I've kinda made mistakes here and there because I didn't think things through, but that's my fault, not yours. I've enjoyed the events you've made and I know I'm going to like the tournament, even if I lose in the first round. OOC at least. IC that wouldn't be nice. Anyway, I also like the pace you've set. It's definitely not too slow, but not too fast either. I can't think of anything else to comment on of the top of my head. Oh except, I'd like to see a dark-type (or Pokemon that learns a Dark-type Move early) come Vincent's way sometime, but that's up to you and the dice of course.
