Lance, with regards to searching for Trainer Battles, please refer to the appropriate thread at the top of the forum. See hereYour chosen skill only determines how many encounters you get per day. To actually find a Trainer Battle, you need to roll a 1d35 and check the table in Rules & Resources. I'll roll it for you this time, but just pointing it out for the future. 4QNJWcsj1d35Looks like it's Maxine vs a Poké Maniac. 1d35

Thanks. I read the 'So you want to find a Trainer Battle' thread but did not read the 'Rules & Resources' thread. When I saw that the second step in the 'So you want to find a Trainer Battle' thread was "Roll your dice", I mistakenly took that to mean I should roll the dice of the Skill I had chosen. I've read all rule threads now and I'm up to speed on things.

Yeah, I probably should have made that slightly more clear, but it all worked out.

Remoraid is far faster than Clefairy, so may as well get started.

Trainer turns are mostly handwaved. Just include any trainer actions alongside your Pokemon actions.

Unless it's trainer combat, of course.

Unless it's trainer combat, of course. Well, that should be obvious.

So Maxine, what were you planning to do with that unconscious Bellsprout? Have it healed and then catch it, or just release it?

Use it as a conversation piece for when I do the obligatory 'meet' scene with the other players.

Well, we're moving on to the next day now that Vincent's battle is over and you're done doing your thing for the "day". So you can just bump into them at some point in the center in the morning.

Cool. Maybe the center has some sort of room they can keep it in or something. If not, that's fine, but I was going to have her offer it to the others for capture if they wanted. Oh, and it looks like she reached Level 12 with that Grotle capture.

Before Maxine goes to sleep each night, she checks Tropius for Berries. She planted a Tier 1 Berry on him a while back (bought it with starting cash) and now he produces 1d3 Tier 1 Berries every day.

Went ahead and posted, although I stopped at training, assuming that Maxine will probably be doing the same thing as Lia in the early morning (Afterall, she's basically a Lia clone ). Thought that might be a good place to meet

You're good. You can just roll randomly for the berries.

I added a thing to the Rules Thread again. Just a minor thing, but you should check it out anyway.

Respectfully, GM, what made you want to slow down the speed at which Trainers level in a PbP game, which you know is slow by nature already? Not arguing it, but was just wondering.

Well, the main reason is so everyone stays around the same level. Otherwise, folks who fail the initial gym challenges multiple times get extra TXP, resulting in them pulling ahead of anyone who one-shots the Gym. This is evident with Vincent being approximately a level behind the rest. He defeated Pewter Gym on his first try, whereas Lia and Floyd had to try multiple times to get past the Sandstorm. Thus, they ended up earning extra XP from each attempt.
