Just as happened when you had entered the Dungeon, there's a moment of disorientation and you find yourself elsewhere. You're still in the same Dungeon, judging from the look of the place, but Mawile, Cubone and Spoink are nowhere to be seen. As the vines retract, though, you feel a strange, soothing feeling run through you. There is someone else in the small room you've arrived in, though - the Fennekin from Simisear's group, who jumps as you...appear, presumably...and cowers back into a corner. She doesn't seem particularly hurt, but she's obviously scared. What do you do? OOCYou may heal up to half your maximum HP, and recover any Persistent Status afflictions you were suffering from. Well, that answers one question
" Hey, I'm that guy from before. Didn't mean to startle you, was looking for a Joltik who wandered here on its own. We thought she might've been an explorer so when we saw the frequency I thought I'd jump on the chance to find her. Have you seen anything?"

The Fennekin, who had sort of curled up into a little ball, uncurls slightly at Lewis's voice, looking up at him. "There are so many of them..." she whimpers. "Why are there so many?"OOCYou will need some sort of social skill check to get anything useful out of her.

healed 18 out of 34 btw Well this isn't good. Lewis looked at the poor fire fox for a moment, and then decided to try to cheer her up the only way he knew how. He turned away from the fennekin for a moment, busted out the inkpots, and primed himself to paint. Sure he had a source to go from right there, but this time he chose to, in his mind's eye, picture the fennekin as she was when he first met her, laughing. Laughing at him mind you, but he could change that detail up a little too. A few hundred tail strokes per second later, Lewis produced a picture of the fennekin smiling and laughing next to a larger than life cake with a strawberry on top with rosettes of icing around the edge and a rainbow in the background. Archived Fennekin, Spent 1 APHe picked up the painting in his mouth and then walked it over to the catatonically curled pokemon, setting it down at her feet. " It's okay, you're not alone anymore," he intoned in a low, soothing voice. He reached out to stroke her fur and said " Don't worry, you'll be fine" As he did his best to comfort the fennekin, he looked over her, trying to see any signs of wear from battle ROLLS Charm to feel less bad vPBQrUIt3d6+2 Perception to notice any damages 3d6+2

The Fennekin slowly starts to relax, giggling slightly at seeing the portrait of her. "Thanks," she says quietly after a moment. She doesn't seem particularly hurt - Lewis is probably hurt worse than her, all things told - though it looks like she's been in a fight or two at some point.
She takes a deep breath and sits up. "Ever since we got here, there have been feral Pokemon everywhere. We made it down one floor, and then...we got split up. I don't know where the others went. I got chased down here, but there are traps everywhere down the path." She indicates the sole exit to the room with a paw. "I only just avoided them on the way here, but I didn't want to try going back past them."
"What are we going to do?"

Lewis frowned for a nanosecond. Oh no. Oh no no no no no no no no no no noHe recovered as quickly as he could though, and moved back to business " Okay, before we can try to figure out what we're doing, we need to know what we're working with." With that, the guy who maybe ruined everything(?) unloaded his pack to display his cookies, his grooming kit, his portable kitchen, and his collection of inkpots. " Material wise I don't have much anything of use. I can use the ink to mark the walls, and the cookies are super delicious and make you stronger. Feel free to take one if you want. As for skills, I should be a bit more helpful. In a fight I do okay, I pack a decent punch but I'm more useful for re-positioning enemies, I have sharp eyes that could probably spot most of the traps you're worried about, I can help you recover if you don't do so well at a given thing, if I'm any good at it myself of course. I also have a really sharp nose... in fact, do you have anything that might have belonged to any of your buddies or at least something that might have their scents on it?" Guile to not let on that I might have ruined everything

Fennekin seems a little startled by the sudden flurry of information, taking a couple of moments to reply. "No, Simisear insisted on carrying everything," she answers. "I guess he never expected we'd be ambushed by feral Pokemon." She takes one of the cookies and nibbles at it as she speaks. "I only joined him recently." She sighs. "This was the first Dungeon we've gone into since I joined the team. Guess he probably won't let me stick with him after this." She looks down at the ground sadly.

"Huh? I-I don't know!" She stammers a bit. "I can...I can try to find their scents myself, but I'm not very good at it. I'm pretty agile...and I can try to burn things, I guess? Ooh, I know!" After a moment's rummaging - despite saying that Simisear keeps all the team's equipment, she does have a bag of her own - she produces her own Gadget. "This is where I went so far." She obviously knows more about the workings of the Gadgets than Lewis does, because after a few button presses his map changes to show some paths and fields that he didn't explore himself.
She looks at Lewis almost...pleadingly. "Is that...does that help?"

"that's a huge help actually. Stay behind me, and we should be fine. Also, try and keep an eye out, four eyes are better than two when it comes to this line of work"
With that, Lewis started heading down the path (towards T 25)

"Okay," Fennekin agrees, following close behind Lewis as he advances towards the path. With the aid of the map Fennekin had provided, it's easy for Lewis to notice the log half-buried in the ground, which looks like it would spring up to smack anyone who got too close. Fennekin, however, does not appear to notice the trap, even though she already knows its approximate location, and nearly walks into Lewis when he (presumably) stops before stepping on the trap. "Log trap, but I've got an idea" The eevee suddenly and violently stomped at the ground in front of the log with all of his force, hopefully triggering the mechanism to launch the log upward.

Sure enough, the log crashes upwards just in front of Lewis (Fennekin yelps in surprise and jumps backwards), propelled by spring-like vines. It starts to retract again almost immediately, but there's plenty of time for the two of you to get past it before it is ready to strike again. A short walk later, and you arrive at the second location where your map tells you there should be a trap. Except this time you can't see one. 'Fenny' giggles slightly at her new nickname. "Sure." She glances around the area and after a moment points to an area in the hedge which, to Lewis, looks indistinguishable from any other part of the hedge. "Yeah, there. See those branches? I think they'd snap out at us. Even if you do your...stomping thing, I don't know if they'll all get triggered early. I can probably jump between whatever's left, but I don't know if you can. Do you want to try?"

"I tried that with the hedge in the room you found me," she admits. "It didn't work very well, but...I suppose I can try again? Maybe the trap is more flammable." Stepping aside slightly from Lewis, she flicks her tail through the air, flames swirling around her, before launching a bolt of flame towards the hedge - and, presumably, the trap that she noticed. A few moments later, a few specks of ash are all that remain of a series of branches that Lewis realises had been carefully arranged to spring out at anyone passing them. "Well...that worked." She sounds rather surprised by this turn of events herself. OOCFennekin: Swift: Brutal Training on self. Standard: Ember on the trap. Lewis follows the scents of the three fire-types (and Fennekin's own scent) back up the path. Simisear's scent diverges at one point, though you can still smell it coming down the path, so obviously he went in a circle. After a brief walk, you arrive at a large room, on the other side of which you can see Kyria, Cubone and the Numel, facing down one of the side paths where, one presumes, some ferals are advancing. Up towards the northwest passage is the Chimchar from Simisear's group, unconscious. You don't see Simisear anywhere. The scent trails, though, tell a bit of an interesting story. Numel's scent heads straight past the stairs and disappears down the path that he's just emerged from. Chimchar's scent heads towards the stairs and then suddenly diverges, heading up in a straight line to where he currently lies. And Simisear's scent reaches the stairs and vanishes. Seeing the others, Fennekin immediately darts past you and starts running towards the impending battle. OOCTechnically Lewis & Fennekin are like seven turns away from the fight, but that's silly, so you two will end up at least approximately close to the fight at the start of the next round. Assuming you want to fight, anyway.
