"Any thing else strange going on there?" Mikel asked once there was a gap in the talking. "Sorry if interrupting." He added.

"They're the lucky ones able to get away, 'Liz," Caervin pointed out with a frown. "I'm not much a fan of water, but the Godspring drying up has me worried just as the next eager sightseer."
He takes a bite of the raisin roll, leaning back on the grass to chew. "Get eating, you two. The sooner we get there the better. Thanks for your info, ma'am."

"It doesn't matter if we're good as gold, hon... Not if there's no one watching, maintaining."
"And it's not just the spring. We've heard tales of those who can bring the blessings of the gods...simply not being able to. I don't much understand it, but it doesn't seem to be isolated to our town."
"But, if you don't mind a half-empty down with disappearing sources of water, you'll love it." The man gives a sarcastic smile. "But I'd wait a few months if I were you."

"I'm not sure we've got a few months to wait," Caervin shoots back with a half-grin. Let them make of that what they will. With any luck they'd find those siblings mentioned in Matthaeus' letter he'd secretly read.
He'd never paid much thought to Dialga's gift on him before, but... would he notice a different if he suddenly went without it altogether?

"Well we are heading that ways anyway, so even if the town isn't all it used to be it would still make a good stop along the way." Mikel commented, "But thank you very much for your information." Mikel said getting some food out of his bag and eating it. "I hope you enjoy the festivals and stay safe."

static.zerochan.net/Esmeralda.(Notre.Dame).full.973982.jpg "Oh Mew!" She exclaims aghast. "Is it truly that bad? How many people have been affected by their sudden departure?" Have they been truly been denounced by their Gods? She was too afraid to ask the final question.

"Well, if you insist on going," the man says, with a mocking tip of an imaginary hat, "all the power to you." "And, it probably wouldn't be quite that bad yet," the woman admits, "if it weren't for people like us leaving. But I, for one, don't feel like having to watch as the town degenerates into a wasteland. Oh, uh you mean regarding the gods? Who knows. But I've heard rumours that even the great stones at Runecircle have had measurable fluctuations in power. Make of that what you will."

"At the very least it will be a roof over our head until we head to wherever we decide after." Mikel comments with a shrug. He didn't have much else to add, but it would be rude to just randomly be quiet.

"Wasteland you say?" She repeats, chewing in to her loaf of bread. "It truly is frightening what is going on in our world at the moment. Who could have ever fathomed their sudden departure could lead to such rapid changes..." "Well, we do have business there to accomplish. We can't really forget that." She merely states, not wishing to elaborate anymore.

"That we do," Caervin says with a sigh. "Finish eating up, you two, then let's get on the road again. Staying in one place too long makes me antsy." Especially with those weird symbols having a chance to pop up...

After leaving behind the travelers, the next two days pass without incident (you can imagine lots of description of wonderful scenery, if you want, that can be nicely glossed over). As you settle down for the night, the nice, warm summer weather lulls you to sleep. To sleep, and, perchance to dream... Waking up, you find yourself once again in Matthaeus' house once more. None of your comrades appear to be there, nor does the old man seem to notice you, intent on making a meal in his kitchen. After a short while, there comes a knock at the door, which is promptly answered my Matthaeus. "Yes, can I help you?" he asks.
The figure at the door steps inside, and you can see that they are a figure clad from head to toe in silver armour, with a large sword on their back. They ignore his statement, before pronouncing, in a voice echoing from under their helmet, "Matthaeus Theodore O'Brien. You are charged with two counts being an accomplice to deicide. You have two options. Reveal where your accomplices are... or die. In these uncertain times, there can be no half-measures."
"What? No, that... can't be true! None of my guests would ever do such a thing."
"No? You are either a fool, or good at hiding information. Given that you are a Seer, I believe that it is the latter. I will give you one last chance. Where. Did. Those. Two. Go?"
"Even were I to know the exact answer you desire, I wouldn't tell you. I assure the safety of all my guests."
"Admirable loyalty," the figure says, nodding. "But misguided. I cannot allow this plan of deicide to spread or succeed. So, by the power of my god... Your part ends now." The sword swings... ...and you wake up with a start, morning having arrived. You can gain Training EXP from both of the two travelling days. Yay.

Mikel quickly awoke from his sleep and sat up, looking around. He took a deep breath and got up and stretched. It was just a dream. Given, based on past experiences the dream could have been accurate, but with no way at the moment to be sure, Mikel tried to push it from his mind.
As he got up, he released his pokemon and went off out the way to begin his daily workout and training drills with them. As he worked with them, the young man tried to decide how likely the dream was to be. He had already not trusted the two people that had arrived before them due to the written prophecy, but deicide seemed a stretch. At the same time, it would explain the missing gods. However, it being a dream just meant his past thoughts could easily have made the dream up. After all if he didn't trust them and was wondering where the gods went, it wasn't unreasonable to believe his mind had formed that idea on its own.
Mikel finished up his training and headed back to the others to see how they were.

Caervin was up with the sun as usual, but his waking didn't feel as restful as he'd hoped given the contents of his dreams. In fact, he felt downright ill for his entire training session with Kindy and Rune, unable to shake the worry from his mind. Perhaps the letter of Matthaeus's he'd read was related-- the old man had mentioned a pair of siblings going off on some lead they'd dug up.
There was one way to check, at least. Once he was done training, he shoved his hands deep in his pockets and sought out Elizabeth and Mikel. "Oi, you two," he said quietly, trying to keep his jitters on the down-low. "I don't suppose either of you had a rather... distressing dream, last night? Concerning the old man?"
Kindy whimpered beside him, as in-tune as ever with her master's anxiety.

Mikel sighed when asked, "Well...that's..." He hesitated trying to find the word, "Upsetting? I was hoping it was just a dream. Armored figure?" Mikel asked refraining from mentioning the death in the slim case it was a different dream.

Caervin paled considerably, but nodded. "I-- yeah. Really hoped your answer was going to be a no. So that probably means..." he squinted, trying to remember the details beyond Matthaeus's death. "There was a mention of deicide. I don't know much about the gods or their whereabouts, but that strikes me as something that not just anyone could pull off."
He patted Kindy, trying to keep the tightness from his throat. i'm so sorry, old man....

"It also could connect to gods giving dreams and them missing." Mikel notes. "And two people while the prophecy warned of two. It definitely strengthens the idea that the two who visited him are the people the prophecy warned about."
