Virgil is finally glad to be free of the Dungeon and it's grasping roots. It was nice to be able to see the sun without a shroud of branches all around. "Whoa!" Why was Cubone...err.. the other Cubone attacking Fennikin? And what had happened to the festival? Why'd everything have to go wrong on a festival day? He sits quietly waiting for the other Cubone to respond. He doesn't much feel like talking and it shows.

Kyria glances, following the group out of the now featureless dungeon, only to catch a glimpse of the not tribal cubone swinging a bone at the fennekin. "Oh no... This isn't good" Kyria thinks of all those who could have been injured or killed in the towns fall. "Okay we have a new mission, as soon as the cubone stops trying to kill us, we have to find whatever is destroying the town and get rid of it." Kyria looks over at the cubone and moves towards it, it knows what's going on, she hopes so she approaches "what's going on?"

Since Cubone seems to have already figured out that they're not who he wants to club, Melanie seconds the question. Well, thirds. "Perhaps you could tell us what's going on instead of trying to club someone who could probably burn your head off."
She doesn't wait around for an answer, though. She looks around at the wreckage grimly - Cubones do grim very well - and adds, "Maybe we should be having the conversation under cover, though." She starts looking around for a good position to take said cover... and for injured Pokémon they'll need to get to safety on the way.

"Yeah, I'm fine," Xander replies, either ignoring or not noticing Lewis' use of his true name. Given the assortment of scratches and other minor injuries he's accrued, he doesn't look fine, although to be fair he's no more injured than some of you. "Just after you left, a whole load of ferals came out of the Dungeon," he explains. "Rampaged through the festival. Made a mess of everything, but I don't think anyone was too hurt." He glances across to the unconscious Pokemon on the ground. "Well, anyone on our side, anyway. We just got done dealing with that and..."
He shrugs slightly. "I don't even know how to describe it. The Totem just...exploded. Ripped through Zoroark's shop and the inn. Did more damage than the ferals, probably."
"You were lucky you misssed it." He looks more properly at your assorted injuries, particularly the badly injured Joltik in Virgil's arms. "I...think."

Kyria cringes and in shock looks back at the town, this was new. "Ferals left the dungeon, and a Totem exploded? We fought a lot of ferals in the dungeon, and that's rare as it is..." Kyria sweats nervously, but keeps her composure for the most part. "Are there any more ferals in the town?" Kyria's jaws are shifting very nervously and her stance is tense, she takes a deep breath and glances to each person, "we should go check out what happened and see what we can do to help."

Melanie stops and turns back to him - partly because that makes it sound like most of the Pokémon on the ground are ferals, and partly because she's trying to process the idea of a totem exploding. She's used to thinking of totems as something... well, permanent. "Are these all ferals, then?" She nudges one gingerly and nods in response to Mawile's observation. "We should, but we need to get Joltik taken care of, first."She starts wracking her brains for anything she knows that might help explain what happened here. Did she ever read about anything like this when she was at the Guild library? Occult Edu: Why would a totem explode? R1KelzxT4d6 4d6

Lewis mentally wiped his brow, almost smiling. Sure the idea of a Totem blowing up on itself was mind-bendingly scary, but this also meant that something new was happening, ferals were starting to exist again and the Adventurer's Guild was about to be on the cusp of relevance again. The life of a heroic adventurer was falling from the highest star right towards his lap.
Then the Newbone's assertion that their new ragtag should put the rando in a clinic snapped him back to reality, and with that he also heard the Mawile's plea to assist town square. Lewis thought for a moment to protest on the behalf of the lone Simisear, but immediately erred on the side of "screw him" and ambled to lead the crew to Scrafty, the local "closest thing we have to an actual doctor so suck it up" as his mom would frequently call him.

Kyria nods, sighing, she lets the eevee bring them to the cleric. She hopes the building is in one piece and expects the place to be very busy with the recent incident, but then she stops. "Is it really... a good idea to leave the dungeon entrance unguarded? What if more ferals come out and attack while we're off our guard. Two of us should stay back and keep an eye out for any stragglers, or at least find someone to keep watch." Kyria scratches the back of her head, her cheerful look gone now, her stance still rough and alert.

Ferals? Here? And the totem destroyed? "The festival's ruined..." he mutters softly before thinking about the others. "So everyone's ok? Well mostly? There were a lot of traps down there too." Virgil adds though it isn't really being helpful. What could he say that would be helpful at this point. Virgil is a little nervous about separating the group again. At least until they knew more about what was going on. "I don't think we need to w-worry about the Dungeon right now. There might still be some wandering around remember." He looks around worriedly as they make their way towards the healer. Getting jumped wouldn't help him or the Joltik. Perception QMPyTY0n3d6

"I guess that explains what beat you lot up, if there were a whole load of ferals there too," Xander mutters. "I think it's mostly over now, though. And as to standing guard, that's what I'm doing here. Sorry about nearly clobbering you, by the way," he adds, rather belatedly, to Fennekin (who has taken the opportunity of the conversation to put a couple of the rest of you between her and Xander.)
As Lewis leads the assorted group further into the town, it becomes reasonably apparent that the general progression of the wounded Pokemon is heading towards the Guildhall. As they get closer, it turns out that the courtyard has been converted into a rather makeshift medical centre. Farfetch'd has apparently been conscripted into assisting with the medical side of things, while Professor Scrafty is standing in one corner. Exactly what the latter is doing isn't clear - a queue of conscious Pokemon holding unconscious ones has formed up, and he is peering through what looks like a small telescope at the unconscious ones.
One familiar face is in that queue, though; Undine is helping a Galvantula carry an unconscious Zigzagoon.

Lewis's throat tightened, paws heavy again. He could handle his mom just fine, but that Galvantula looked way too much like the little joltik, the one they'd gone after and whose broken body was being held in the Spoink's hands.
This is it, he realized. This was my first mission, my only mission, and I failed. Even with this scary new world I may never get to live my dream. How can Galvantula forgive me for this? What if Joltik doesn't recover?
Lewis's head hung low next to his crew in line for Farfetch'd to administer healthcare. He prayed to Goat that his Mom and the Galvantula kept their heads facing forward

Kyria had stuck with the party, she looked at the long line of injured Pokemon and then away from everyone. It was quite clear to her that the eevee was nervous, what about she was unsure, Kyria pats him on his back reassuringly, being Kyria it wasn't exactly light, but it was surprisingly gentle. She would smile at the eevee trying to cheer him up. "It'll be fine, we'll figure this out and get through it!"

There sure are a lot of injured folks. The attack must have been worse than Virgil had first thought. It would take forever to get help for Joltik but really they don't have too many options. "Oh I hope that Scrafty can hurry. Joltik isn't out of the woods yet...well she is out of the Dungeon woods..." He murmurs, before going on a tangent. He can't help but agree with Kyria's sentiment, albeit weakly, "Yea. I mean we ended up mostly o-ok."

Melanie just walks behind the others quietly, not really sure what she can say at this point. She wonders what would have happened if they'd stayed in town and been able to help defend it... but then who would have been there when Joltik got injured to get her out? Simisear's group hadn't even known she was there. Or who would have pulled Chimchar out of that trap?
"I'd stay here and offer to help Scrafty, but I might do more harm than good," she murmurs, apparently in response to Virgil's worrying about the pace. "Most of what I know about healing I picked up incidentally, and there's not a lot of that."

As you file in further, the Galvantula looks at you out of one of his many eyes. And then after a moment turns to look at you with all of them. To say he scuttles over isn't quite accurate; it's closer to a stomp as he makes a direct beeline for the eight of you. When he speaks, after a moment, he almost spits the words out, glaring at you out of all of his eyes at once. It would, however, be a little more imposing if there weren't a few tears glistening in some of his eyes as well. "What. Happened. To my granddaughter?"And as if that wasn't bad enough, his abrupt departure has drawn Undine's attention to you, the Vaporeon watching the entire affair unfold from across the courtyard. She, however, doesn't leave the line she's in. OOCUndine Perception: K2jbPdrg2d6 Galvantula Perception: 5d6+9 2d6·5d6+9

Kyria sighs, losing her cheerful front as it might irritate the galvantula. "The dungeon wasn't nice to her to say the least, we saw simisear and his group go into the dungeon and before we could do anything she jumped ahead of us into it, so we gave chase. We just got out of it a few minutes ago, Virgil was the one who found her though when we got sperated." Kyria motions to the spoink, she herself is still really beaten up. "That's all I really know." She looks away disheartened.

"In her defense, I don't think anyone expected there to be so many ferals inside the dungeon," Melanie submits quietly. "That part, at least, she can't be blamed for. We're just lucky Spoink found her."
Melanie thinks that going into a Mystery Dungeon alone was probably a bad idea anyway, but this is clearly not the time to say that. She can be tactless sometimes, but she doesn't want to upset Galvantula further. "Is there anything we can do to help?"

Seeing the old spider rear up the way he did broke Lewis's heart. This was the Joltik's own fault. On an intellectual level he understood that, but emotionally, it was his. The Eevee didn't return the elder Galvantula's gaze. He did his best not to shrink to the size he felt he was, and his best became a bit better as his allies told the full story. He didn't look back up

The large spider coming towards Virgil sets him on edge. Being weak to the big bug didn't help when it also seemed to be very angry or upset. Why hadn't Joltik been more careful and just avoided the trap so he wouldn't have to explain everything to an angry arachnid?
"Well..uh..she..." he manages to spit out after a moment. With the quaking eyes still on him, he clears his throat and tries to actually explain, as quickly as possible, "Me and Numel found her hiding on one of the floors and t-then we found a suspicious flower and it didn't l-look right so we tried to set it off but it didn't do anything so I hopped over it and was fine and then Joltik went right past it and it burst into flames and she got knocked out so we kept exploring but there w-was another trap later and I tried to disarm it but I got to close and got full of needles and J-joltik did too because I w-was still holding her and I h-hadn't thought about bringing any potions with us..." He peters out still quaking from the Galvantula's glare

"She what?"
It seems Galvantula hadn't actually realised that Joltik had entered the Dungeon, if his startled exclamation and angry bristling is anything to go by. "Ferals in the Dungeon too...this is a dark day." He looks back up to you, focusing on each of you with a couple of his eyes, which is a rather disconcerting effect. "You have my thanks for assisting her, but where is this...Simisear, then?" He enunciates the fire-type's name carefully, as if it might taste interesting. "Why is it the seven of you who have rescued her and not him?"
