It does echo what Ophelia'd said, somewhat. But, he still doesn't feel like he's been around long enough to actually reach more than... well, the people that he's directly interacted with the most. Who were also - barring Ophelia - likely the most inclined that way in the first place.

The carts went out one at a time, Em getting some curious looks from the faculty and staff, but their interest went to the wayside once food was on the table. Standing at the foot of the dining room, Em gently took his hand, working a thumb along the back of his hand, she seems content with the effort and the result.
A few eyes strayed his way, Bryonry, Violet, and Ophelia most notable. No one approached to make comment. Shortly after, it was back to the kitchen to have their own meals with Thel's Pokemon and to talk idly about the experience in reflection.

"That was enjoyable... thank you for doing this. I hope you had fun. And," he looks over at Jazz and Jesse, laughing, "that it wasn't too much trouble."
"Will you all be staying to help with dinner tonight?" he asks. "It was a lot of fun having those around that I've gotten to know, but, I fully understand if you'd like to take a break for the rest of the night. It's surprisingly exhausting working in a kitchen! So please don't feel obligated, okay?" Though he tries not to show it, he's definitely getting a little nervous about his project. It's just... expectations, and he hasn't seen anyone else present yet, so...

Thel's Pokemon don't seem to mind. They got fed and got to help with the food for once. Harmony seems the most excited by the idea, as though teamwork were their favorite thing.
"I'll probably just... Settle in and eat. I've had enough cooking for one day.". Patience makes a face. "Too much heat and too many bodies."
"I go where you go.". Em took both of his hands in hers, and leaned against Thel.

"It's understandable," Thel says to Patience, smiling. "It was more than I could have asked of you to help out in the first place, and it meant a lot. Please don't think that I'm disappointed, or anything like that. I'm just glad I got to spend time with my sister."
"Well," he says, turning to Em, with a laugh, wriggling one hand out of her grip as he puts his arm around her back, "I appreciate it, but I don't think you'll be able to come out with me when I'm actually out there hosting. Don't think the teachers would like that when they're trying to grade me on it."

Maybe get to know her a little better. Did you need to start on your next project immediately? I was hoping for some time on the beach, just the two of us."

"Probably better to not cross the teachers," Thel says, but she still gets a laugh out of him. "But, there should be at least a bit of time, though... uh, if it's all the same to you, I'd... rather not go near the water when it's like this." His face pales at the thought. "But... if you want to do something else, we can, since we need to wait for people to finish eating before getting started on setting everything up for later. Utensils, seating, washing up from lunch, starting dinner..."
An idea occurs to him. "I... don't know if you might want to see about going into town with me, and seeing if we can pick out a dress that might be more suitable for hosting this dinner?" he asks. "I... thought about it before, but didn't have the money until now, and... I thought that might be nice to do together. And maybe find something to make these a little less noticeable." He glances to the bandages on his arms. "...if not, that's okay, though."

"I'd love to spoil you a little bit myself... Sure, we can go shopping.". Em beamed, pleased with the arrangement. Patience rounded up Thel's Pokemon, much to Hope's chagrin, and left the two with a private moment. The walk in the rain was somehow more pleasant then similar in the past. Hand in hand, nestled under an umbrella, until they arrived at the boutique.
Em shook out and folded her umbrella, leaving it by the door. The clerk, an older woman with a bug Pokemon that superficially resembled Lurantis looked up from her book at the counter. "Customers? In this weather? Goodness."

He feels bad that his Pokémon seemed to want to join them... he'd have to make it up to them after all this was over.
"Oh, my apologies if we're disturbing your reading, ma'am," Thel says, contritely. "We were just hoping to be able to find a more suitable dress for my dinner presentation this evening, if that's not an issue. I... would have rather not have left it until the last minute, but... thigs happened to conspire against that."

Most is silk and cotton blend. It makes lighter, cooler clothing that is preferred for beach weather. The remainder is wool from the local farms. Heavier attire but not good in the rain. Please, have a look around."
Em is drawn to a jewelry case in one corner of the room, admiring bright and shining trinkets one might wear as an accessory to an outfit.

"Oh, that's very impressive," Thel says, casting his glance around at the assorted garments. "My compliments to you both."
Just taking some time to wander around, he makes note of things that might be interesting to try on. Something not too dark, nor too bright. Maybe a nice green? Purple would be good, but that would probably not look that great with his hair at the moment, same with an aqua or turquoise. Long gloves are something that he's keeping an eye out for, too, to wear over the bandages.
After spending some time, he goes over to Em, looking with her at the case. "Anything catching your eyes?"

Em nests her hands in each other and turns to face him, color in her cheeks. She gently wrings her delicate fingers and takes a moment to breathe. "When I was working at the Tea House, one of the girls explained relationships to me a little.". She trails off, turning to admire matching pairs of rings.
"Promised means that you will abstain from being physically intimate... Engaged means you intend to marry... Marriage is a lifebond. With Patience calling me... You know. I can't help but wonder where we are in that development?"

Thel nods. "I remember that coming up in a few of my books, with all the expectations that one's supposed to have. I always thought that, even though all the... everything else was a bit much, it's a sweet gesture. Just... giving something to the other, so that they'll always have a part of you." He flushes a little. "Truth be told, when you arrived here... it made me start thinking about it more. For when I got a little more money. Just so that even if we had to part again, there would be something of me that would always be with you."
"I don't know where we are, though," he admits. "I'm still trying to figure out... a lot of stuff, and it all tangles up into a mess. I do know," he says, laughing, "that Patience really seems to be eager about figuring out exactly how everything is and relates to each other. So... I suppose I should have expected that from her."

"I suppose we came to find something nice for you, let's do that first.". Holding Thel's hand in hers, she moved through the boutique. "Is this hosting thing done while also cooking? We might need to avoid anything too long or showy... Or you could change clothes after the meal is finished cooking. Staining or damaging your outfit would be bad, I think...but I don't know the rules. The darker colors draw more attention to your face and hair... I like that. They also don't stain as noticeably."

Em tenderly adjusted his bangs. "I thought you meant a floral print dress, which would be nice too.". She answered sheepishly. "Dark green with your hair does sort of make you look like a flower... It's nice though. Lighter colored gloves and stockings... Maybe some short heeled dress shoes, and we could... Feather your hair from a few small braids?". Em was clearly getting into this.
