"Druddigon is a Dragon-Type Pokemon. Universally they are often proud, combative, difficult to manage, and extremely powerful. They dislike crowded places, and lowlands, preferring to stake territories high in the mountains, which lends itself well to observing those beneath them, both in terms of majesty and stature." A coy smile crept on her face between bites of vegetables. "I wonder what that says about me? At any rate, he is my only Pokemon, and I don't use him around here often, the general air of the place is likely to set him on a rampage. Easier to adapt to whatever rental I'm given in the moment then it is to try to reign him in when he gets going. Would you like to meet him? He's standoffish around strangers, but he's really quite sweet."

"I think it says that you're really quite good at this Trainer business," he says, laughing. "And, sure. I'd love to meet him. I always like meeting the friends of friends. What do you say, Hope?" He gently scoops the bug off his shoulder, and holds her in front of him. "Want to meet a new friend?"
A thought occurs to him. "...is it a good idea to do it in here, though? Just, uh, rampage and high stature worry me a little."

"It is just us, and nothing is expected of him, it should be fine .". Aliana replied dismissively, pokeball already in hand. A moment later, filling the bulk of Thel's room, was a large bipedal reptile with a greenish-blue body, a red head, and yellow chest scales. It had a series of raised fins on its back, and the scales over it's body looked unpleasantly sharp.
Powerful claws, and gnashing jaws. This was clearly a creature that spared nothing in the presentation of its power. The druddigon turned his large head to one side and considered Thel imperiously. "Druddigon, this is Thel. Thel, my Pokemon."

"...I'm surprised there's room," is all Thel manages to get out, as he stares at the thing filling his room. Sure, he's seen bigger - like Jasmine's Steelix, and the Wailord - but this is right there, and in a confined space. And somehow seems to be even more barely-restrained violence than Steelix.
He takes a moment to compose himself, and relax a bit. It hasn't attacked him yet, and Aliana said it'd be fine. "Hi there, Druddigon. It's nice to meet you. This is Hope," he cradles the bug, "my own partner. You're very impressive, and I can see why you would partner up with someone like Aliana. ...do you want some snacks, I have some lying around if you want."

A deep huff from the Pokemon's nostrils, warm, moist air billowing against Thel's face. It made a small noise that might have been consideration, turning in place. After it had surveyed the 'kingdom' he found himself in, the Drudiggon considered Thel again and nodded with a rumble.
"Well... at least he didn't try to use your bed like he did mine the first day." Aliana laughed cheerfully. "Scraped up the wall and ruined a perfectly good hardwood piece of furniture."

"...that seems like a risk that shouldn't have been taken," Thel says, paling, as he gets a few different flavours of snacks out for the dragon to choose from. Or take all of. "I can't imagine what Madeline would have said if I made a complete mess of in here before even getting settled. I mean... it all turned out well, but, uh, I'd really like to last longer than one day." He laughs a little nervously.

"I would have taken responsibility, besides, the door is open like it is supposed to be. There'd be witnesses." Aliana soothed as the dragon leaned in to sniff at the offered treats. It takes its time deciding, which almost seems to be an exercise in seeing how long it can keep Thel standing in that position, before finally selecting one of the dry snacks and gently taking it in the end of that massive toothy maw. There is very little chewing, but a content sigh afterwards.

"I'm glad you like it," Thel says, smiling at the dragon, though a little bit sore from having to hold them up to the 'mon's height for a time. "I made it myself."
He turns to Aliana. "Even so... I've already had enough trouble today," he laughs. "I don't want to have people feel like I'm just a trouble magnet." He laughs. "I'm going to have my work cut out for me starting tomorrow anyways. Looking forwards to it, though."
Glancing over at his stuff neatly in a tiny pile, he adds, "I should probably get this place settled, and just... arrange stuff for tomorrow. Get an early night, too. If that's okay, it might be good to call it a day. It's been... a whirlwind, and I'm glad I got to meet you, your Pokémon, and your friends. I'm looking forwards to my time here." He gives a smile.

"Then I guess I can declare my first attempt as a mentor a complete success." Aliana declared matter-of-factly, withdrawing Drudiggon before he could get any funny ideas about food or otherwise. "Get some rest Thel, your real lessons begin tomorrow. I'll be checking in on you after classes, to help you along with anything you are struggling with. Till then~"
With a mock bow, Aliana excused herself, leaving Thel to close the door himself when he was ready.

"Thank you, Aliana. I'll see you then," he says, smiling.
He closes the door, and just spends some time looking out the window, before arranging his things in what storage there is to get it in more of a shape than 'small pile'. Just to make it more of his space.
After that, he spends some time going over what he'd learned that day with Hope, just talking to the bug, hoping to help him remember in the future. And also mentioning that he'd like to at some point try and get some practice in acting more...like how Aliana described. Just... being more at rest when the situation called for it, or whatever. He has to practice that stuff, too. Relax more. Compose himself.
After that, he goes over his schedule, and does a bit more makeup practice, before turning in for the night. Tommorow is a new day. And a little nerve-wracking.

Hope is an impressive listener, nodding at all the right moments, and giving Thel the slightest touch to the cheek or forehead as encouragement when he needs it. Rather then return to her ball at the end of the night, she alights on his headboard as though acting as a guardian for him, watching the moon rise over the trees out the window.
Come morning, the day is immediately a whirlwind of activity. With proper timing and precaution, Thel gets enough rest to make it to his first classes. He's in the room a few minutes early and finds the classroom actually very sparse. The instructor looks up from her coffee, a heavier woman nearer middle age with curly brown hair, very broad glasses that cover the majority of her face wearing a button up blouse and a business casual skirt. His syllabus had listed her as Ms. Fromm.
"Ah yes, the new girl. Wonderful. Punctual, early even, a fine first impression if I ever saw one under standard conventions. Please remain at the front of the classroom Miss Lucasta, we'll be making introductions and learning a bit about you today before beginning our lecture."

It takes him a while to get to rest, the events of the day replaying in his mind. He especially keeps being reminded of hearing Aliana call him a Pokémon. But that couldn't be right? Could it? She couldn't know... surely Jasmine would have mentioned such a thing. Though, it's not like if she did know it was causing her to treat him any different. Regardless, he must've just been worried about them warning him to not divulge things. Just a symptom of excitement...
But eventually, soothed by Hope's presence, he falls asleep, and forgets about the evening's woes. The morning drives it yet further, as he has no extra brainpower to spare for additional worrying. Just the stuff for classes.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Mrs. Fromm," he says, hoping he's pronouncing it correctly. Reading's still not the easiest thing for him, even if it does come easier now. "And, alright." Oh. This wasn't how he expected to start. Center of attention. That's... a little nerve-wracking. What if he messes up in front of everyone? If they could tell he doesn't really belong as a human? He hasn't even learned anything much yet...

The woman gauged him curiously as he stood at attention and the other girls filtered in. It was indeed nerve wracking, but by five minutes after the hour, twelve girls had filtered into the room and taken their seats. "Class, you will each have your own opportunities to introduce yourself to miss Lucasta, but as she's new, she'll be introducing herself as best she knows how. Go ahead then." She gestured for Thel to take her moment.

He takes a breath, collects his thoughts, and begins speaking, nerves screaming out, "H-hello there," he says, internally wincing at the stammer. Confidence. Collected. Calm. That's what he needs to be.
"My name is Thel Lucasta, and I'm pleased to have the opportunity to meet all of you, and be here at this school. I'm looking forwards to learning everything I can here." Oh, that's awful, and awkward, he reflects internally, but it's the best he can think of right now. What do they want???

An awkward and lengthy pause as there is a wait for more. Ms. Fromm clears her throat softly. "Perhaps a few things about your interests, personal style, home, and Pokemon?". The woman offered gaugingly.

"Oh, sorry," he says, flushing. "I adore being in nature, just being able to see around the world, and share that with friends. And also cooking, and finding new recipes to try. I... I come from Ecruteak, though never had much chance to explore until recently. It's a beautiful city, where you can just sit anywhere and marvel at the sights. Or climb Mount Mortar, and marvel at the city. Apparently I was born in Alola, but... that was never really talked about, so I don't know any more than that."
"My Pokémon are all fairly kind and gentle souls, though my Tsareena needs to open up a bit more to others. I'm hoping that bonding through some of what I learn here will help with that, though. My Ribombee is always curious, and my Ninetales adores being pet. And my Joltik… she's quiet, and has suffered a lot of hardship from before I met her. I... I don't know if I really have much of a personal style yet, though. Okay, hopefully that's enough. Ugh, ugh, bad first impression. But power through.

"Were either of your parents native to Alola, Miss Lucasta?". Miss Fromm presses with an air of mild skepticism. "Is there a particular thing that draws you out into the untamed wilderness?" The tone was such that the outdoors was held with a measure contempt.

"I'm pretty sure my mom and dad were both born there," Thel replies, a little anxiously, "but I don't have any idea beyond that. It... wasn't really much discussed with mom. And I never knew my dad, and nobody ever really talked about him, so... I don't really know, sorry."
"And I like seeing the wide open world, just beckoning with new experiences. Just... enjoying time with the company of people I like being around beneath the sun. It always reinvigorates me, reminds me that, overall, life is happy. Whatever disappointments may ever come one's way, the sun always shines on."

"Hmm..." Miss Fromm comments noncommittally on Thel's parentage. When the boy is at last finished. "Now class, based on our lessons in the year to date, since Miss Lucasta is a late arrival, what could she have done better with her presentation." A girl with straight black hair to her waist stood, rested a hand lightly on her chest and leaned in just so. "Violet Marcette." She introduced herself to Thel. "When presenting one should mind posture and pauses in conversation. Shoulders square, back straight, chest out. Strong language and complete thoughts make you seem more powerful and in control, and in that position you are less likely to see challenge or negative address from your peers."
"Thank you Violet. Miss Lucasta you may take your seat now." Ms. Fromm gestured to an empty desk and began the lesson in earnest.

Thel nods. "Thank you, I will take that lesson to heart." He gives Violet a smile as he moves to his seat, taking out his supplies. Okay... well, that could have gone better, but it also could have gone worse.
