Robin: Shift: Disengage NE Standard: Taunt on Zubat 1 AC3: bVRZsjES1d20 On hit, Zubat 1 is enraged Swift: Activate Quick Wit to use Manipulate (Flirt) on Zubat 1 AC2: 1d20 Opposed Charm (Opposed by Charm or Focus) roll: 3d6 On hit and success, Zubat is infatuated with Robin for 1 full round. Robin raises an eyebrow at the unearthly sound coming from Jean-Marie, but doesn't say anything for the moment, thinking this probably isn't the time and place to talk about it. Still, it seems to her that that particular Zubat is well in hand, so she turned to the other melee, noticing Rowan bouncing off the Zubat rather than punching through it, as he normally prefers. Realizing the problem with that, she resolves to do something about it be stepping closer and sending another high-pitched whistle towards it. Unfortunately, she can't quite get the pitch high enough to be effective, so tries a different tack and speaks to it. "Hey there, Darkwing - don't suppose we could sit down and talk things out a little, huh?" She pulls a small sandwich from her bag. "Got plenty of food and lotsa tasty blood, depending one your preference." She gives a smile, hoping to make it pause a little, in confusion if not endearment.

Jean-Marie, Robin, VessBetween even though Vess misses the Zubat, between Jean-Marie and Vehemence the bat quickly falls to the ground, its body battered. The Woobat, looking rather bruised, faced with two opponents that have been causing problems, seems indecisive for a moment, before it fires off a blast of psychic energy at Rowan. The last remaining Zubat seems to calm down slightly at Robin's actions, and sensing its situation, darts off into a nearby hole in the wall, seemingly not willing to continue fighting. Woobat uses Confusion on Rowan! AC2: |SdBemMh1d20, DB7: 2d6+19 The last Zubat leaves the scene. Orianne & BenjiAll of the Diglett dart underground as you pass them, seemingly scared off. Jean-Marie, Robin, VessWith a final cry, the last Woobat falls down to ground as Rowan bowls into it, and the battle is won. Now that you all have a moment of quiet, you begin to notice some things. Primarily, the scent. Although not a proper stench, there is still a certain pervasive pungency hanging in the air. The source of this smell is found quickly enough, as you take a moment to visually scan the cave. Although you had caught that the floor was white before, in the excitement you hadn't really gotten much further in identifying the exact nature of it. Now, however, Robin and Jean-Marie quickly realise that what they're standing on is a layer of... guano. Thin, and dried out (mostly), but most definitely... guano. Even as you're struggling with the emotions that thought brings up, you spot among the excretions several mushrooms, peeking out of the uneven flooring. Seems the guano is fertile. Combat is over! All of you earn 10 xp, which you can spread out over your Pokémon as long as at least half goes to a Mon that has participated in the battle. Benji & OrianneBenji, as you take a moment to look around the tunnel wall at the dead end, something (Instinct? A glint of light? Pure chance?) compels you to look up and to the right. There, through a small crevice in the rock wall, you spot a small cluster of yellowish crystals, similar to the kinds you remember some of the people visiting the Samsara using in their rituals... you think. Might just be crystals. Pretty though.

Jean-Marie grimaces as she realizes what they are standing in.
"Ew.. Seems that this is a frequent roost for the bats. At least these mushrooms seem useful. After washing them well, of course." She dons some plastic gloves and plucks them from the ground.
"They are most likely Tiny Mushrooms and Big Mushrooms. They could probably make a decent stew of some kind if I knew how to cook at all. What do you think, Robin?"

Rowan gives satisfied sigh, moving back over to Robin while very deliberately stepping over the fallen Woobat. With a smile, Robin squats down and gives him a little pat, as well as holding up a small handful of seeds, which he happily digs into. Smiling at her Cherubi's happiness, Robin smiles up at Jean-Marie and takes a small bit of jerky out of her pocket, biting into it as chewing as she looks at the mushrooms. "Yeah, I reckon I could use them pretty well. Might even be enough for a good strogonoff. Ages since I've had one o' them." She chuckles as she takes another bite. "Mind you, need to be cooked as well as cleaned, so in the meantime, anyone want a snack?" She stands up again as Rowan finishes eating with a satisfied chirp, brushing her hand against her leg and reaching into her pack for those snacks. Robin and Rowan take one Enriched Water each.

"I could use a drink of water, I think. Those bats did get a couple hits on me before we got them down."

"Huh," is all Benji says as he looks at the crystals. They do seem familiar and they certainly are interesting, but what exactly did he look that far up? It's not like they are reflecting a lot of light and he was ready to turn around and go back to the main route, disappointed as it sounds. However, it was almost like something... called for him? "Nope, not gonna dwell in that," he thinks, shaking his head. Chance it was, for sure.
"Hey, Maha," he says, calling for his new pokémon. "Can you help me a bit? Just... Hold me steady as I..." he starts explaining, gesturing for the machop to hold his waist as he stands at the tip of his feet to reach his arm up the opening to get to the crystals. "Urggh... get in... there!" he says, grunting as he contorts around until he finally reaches the small treasure to try and wiggle it free.

Maha looks a bit confused by your instructions, but shrugs and holds you up and steady as you try to dislodge the crystals. However, it seems the crystals are attached to the stone pretty firmly, and are sturdy enough that your strength, awkwardly applied as it is, isn't enough to break them off.

"Sure thing," Robin replies, tossing a small bottle of water over to Jean-Marie. He tilts his head at her as he remembers what he saw. "By the way, Jeannie, what was that you were doing back there? I mean, don't get me wrong, it seemed pretty damn effective, but I'm not sure I've seen anything like it."

A little vexed by the reality of his lack of upper strength, Benji grunts as he takes his arm out of the crevice. "Well, that won't work at all," he says, turning to Orianne and remembering he has not explained it to the girl. Or to Maha. He motions towards the opening to show them the yellow crystals. "Not sure what they are, but I think I've seen them before and they might be worth... something."
Disappointed, but not yet giving up, he then turns to the machop. "So, Maha..." he says a little embarrassed. "No surprises there, but I'm not as strong as you. Would you mind trying to get it for me? I know it's a little too high up, but maybe... I can lift you up a bit?" he asks, unsure if the fighting pokémon's pride would allow that. "Oh! Or maybe you can just stand on my shoulder! Yeah, I kneel here and then you try to take them out? Please?"

Maha grins and gives you a thumbs up, before following your instructions. After a few moments of stumbling and figuring out how to best approach the situation, you get Maha up in position and he starts wresting at the crystals.
It takes a few minutes of struggling, as the Machop tries to get a good grip on the crystal to apply the force needed to break of a good chunk, and you try your best to keep your balance and keep the fighting type up in the air, but eventually Maha manages to break off a large chunk of the crystal with a victorious cry. The moment would have felt slightly more impressive if the force of Maha breaking away the crystal didn't send the two of you falling to the ground in a clumsy heap. Slightly battered and bruised, the only real injuries either of you take are to your self esteem.

Benji feels Maha's small body on his. He had felt the machop's happiness on succeeding before falling down, and seeing neither of them looks hurt, he immediately burst out laughing. "Well done, Maha!" he says after a few seconds of laughter. "That was awesome! But I think we need to practice it a little more."
Carefully, he helps Maha gets on his feet before standing up himself, brushing the dirt from his clothes. As soon as they're both on their feet, the machop passes him the piece of crystal, and Benji literally giggles with anticipation. He holds it over his head, checks the purity and clarity, examines it against the light of his pokédex, focus his magical sight on it, draws some experimental runes on its surface, shakes it, and even tastes the strange crystal. Satisfied with it, he looks to Maha and Orianne and Yash, and exclaims smiling: "I have no idea what this is!"
He places it in his bag, wrapped in a spare pair of socks. "But I think I've seen it before and it might be useful. Probably," he finally explains, allowing Yash to return to his shoulder. "Well, it turns out there was nothing much in this tunnel after all, Orianne. Should we head back?"

I mean, don't get me wrong, it seemed pretty damn effective, but I'm not sure I've seen anything like it." She thanks Robin, taking a swig from the bottle before answering her question. "Ah, my powers? I am not sure, to be honest. If I concentrate hard enough I can pull the shadows from my surroundings and..." -she gently punches her open palm in demonstration- "Sort of 'whack' things with it? I do not know exactly where they come from, but my mother could do the same." She kneels down to Souris who has remained tightly curled up and gently places a hand on her back. Initially she flinches, but the Sandshrew slowly uncurls and relaxes before waddling over to check on Vehemence.

Robin chuckles. "Ooh, power of darkness, nothing ominous there at all. Still, seems pretty effective and really cool. What about you, Vess?" He asks, looking over at her. "Need a snack and/or something to punch. I think we've established I can provide either."

Ori watched the boy and machop flounder for a few moments. Her arms folded across her chest as she waited to see what would become of it. Once they final retrieved what they were after and subsequently tumbled to the floor, she stooped down to inspect their prize.
"If you wanted crystals so badly, you could have just asked. I go out and find them almost every morning..." Her tone was cool and uninterested, though her eyes seemed to linger on the crystal much longer than someone who wouldn't care about such things might.

Benji & Orianne
Although Orianne isn't able to identify the crystal chunk, she's certain it isn't anything she usually works with. She's fairly certain it doesn't have any real inherent power like the Shards and Gems she works with do, but that all the power it has is merely symbolic, even if symbolism has its own type of power in the occult.
Vess, Jean-Marie, Robin
Souris walks over to Vehemence, who is looking a bit put out at Robin and is pawing at some of the smaller mushrooms growing on the floor, meanwhile throwing glances and slowly approaching a small, low tunnel on the right side of the cave. Every so often she throws a glance at Vess to see how she reacts.

Vess narrows her eyes in Robin's direction, shaking her head. "Don't need anything. And trust me, as much as I would enjoy punching you, you wouldn't enjoy that."
She then focuses her attention on Vehemence, raising a brow slightly. "Something over there you want to check out? If so, lead the way."

Vehemence nods once, looking slightly hesitant, and heads into the tunnel. Although the tunnel is low, Vess doesn't have too much trouble going through. After a minute or so of walking, she enters a smaller cave, the air dank and musty. She quickly spots a handful of bugs roaming around, mushrooms growing out of their back, tending to the various mushrooms growing in the cave. Vehemence is eyeing the mushrooms hungrily, but seems wary of the various Paras.
