There is a hint of nervousness at first, but Em's sense of adventure wins out in the end. With Thel's assistance, she mounts one of the dragons, and the pair go for a high speed flight. The dragons never stray out of earshot of each other, and there is never a bit of turbulence, flitting and zooming about in the falling dusk. When the ride at last comes to an end, they settle into a crater at the top of mount mortar with high sides. Many odd pairings of Pokemon are present here, though Thel and Em are the only humans among them. A small pond is at the bottom of the basin, and it reflects the coming starlight as dark arrives at last.

Thel clings on tightly, laughing and grinning as they fly through the sky. This is better than he'd ever imagined, just... flying free, no longer bound to the earth, seeing everything. That's something he'd not really thought about. How much smaller everything else is. He should have expected it from mountain views, he realizes, but... those just seemed normal.
The fact that they're just going up the mountain, and it's dark now, and everything is a little bit worrying... but the Pokémon didn't seem like they wanted to hurt them. So, uh, they'll see, he supposes.
The surroundings are... not what he'd expected, though, for the top of the mountain. Many more Pokémon here. All brought here by the dragons, or do they just live here? He squeezes Em's hand for reassurance. "Thank you for the flight," he says, addressing the 'mon that had flown him here. "It was wonderful."
"I... guess we're staying here for the evening?" he says to Em. Oh, hopefully this wasn't a terrible idea to come up here... "I wonder why everything's up here." He looks at the pool. "Are the stars wanting company, too, maybe?" He glances around, from the dragons to whatever else is here, in search of maybe some answers.

"I am always confident! I don't know how un-confidence works! I only know fear! And violence! And sometimes existential dread!" Muku replies. After the strike, Talon hums confidently in her hands, as eager for battle as it could be. In that, they were one!

Exploring the area, Thel finds Pokemon of vastly different elements and body types lying close. They pay neither human any real mind, seeming content with their partners. Notables are a Sneasel and a Sylveon, a Magikarp in the water keeps company with a beautiful serpent with rainbow scales. A Jynx and a Machoke, a Scyther and a Golett, and so on. At the center of the pond is another stock still figure. Three broad yellow horns ring a white face with blue markings under closed eyes. Tresses, or streamers, hang from its head. The remainder of its body is a pale white.
The stars reflect in the water, and the pair of dragons make a round of the place, conversing with the other couples, seemingly having lost interest in the humans. "I don't mind... though it will probably be a further walk back..." Em's hand squeezes Thel's, and she moves to have a seat by the water. "This is a really pretty spot... a nice place to be now that the sun is hidden."
To and fro the trio clashed, Keldeo's horn proving a surprising match for Muku's aggressive wild swings and Terra's stoic defense. After blows fell on both sides, all parties sweating and breathing heavily, the Pokemon takes a knee indicating it yields, and moves to communicate at length, though this is lost on the humans. The Gallade again presents himself.
"Keldeo says that you are honorable and worthy of respect, to come into this place of prowess, and challenge according to our laws. Kindred spirits, strong of will and weapon. If you would ask anything of him, speak it now and he will tend to it to the best of his abilities."

Breathing heavily, Muku leans onto Talon with a smile beaming from her sweaty brow. The battle had passed by in a series of flashes, wild blade swooping, souring through the sky as she landed risky blow after risky blow. Were it not for Terra's hardy swordsmanship, she would have lost, but together? Hah! They could have one two fights! Maybe three! Replacing Talon to it's built in scabbard and placing it in a place of honor at her side, she beamed at her once foe with familiarity and chattiness.
"I don't know what honor is, but Muku liked this fight. It was fun, cause nobody got wounded or scarred and died, which is nice. You fight good, and I think that is cool, so you keep working, and I'll keep working, and maybe one day I can beat you without Terra's help either!" Pausing just a moment to consider the weightier question, her mind went to a weightier man. Chuck. He was supposed to be checking out the boat, right?
Her eyes narrow just a bit. Yes. He was.
Chuck was strong, but he seemed to be also a bit lazy. If he wasn't being careful, then he could get beat up, and if he got beat up, then maybe Muku wouldn't be able to win a badge from him. And that would be bad, because then Muku wouldn't get a shiny! "I want you to help out Chuck, the chubby guy who might be fighting some really bad, no good water lovers. They have a shark that splits boats and they took Terra and made us come here, and they are really just kind of rude and I don't appreciate what they do. So maybe, if you see chubby shirtless guy, could you give him a hand? That's all I think I want."

"It is pretty... and everyone here's so calm, and peaceful. They're just so happy," Thel sits next to Em, just staring into the water. "It's the kind of thing that I want, once everything's just sorted out. A nice, quiet, happy life. Where there's contentment in the company of each other, and we can just... enjoy doing things. Without any worries."
"I just wish I knew that it would all turn out okay," he says, returning her squeeze. "That those evil people wouldn't get their way, and we could just live out our lives. I... I don't want to lose you, Em. That's the thing that scares me the most. That something will happen to one of us, and that we'll never see each other again..."

In the end, Terra found herself quite enjoying the way that the sword felt in her hand the impacts of providing a defense for the Starly girl during their duel. A slight grin coming across her face as the excitement comes to a finish as the pokemon yields to the two of them.
At Gallade translating for them, she seems pretty pleased with herself with that acknowledgement from the pokemon that they were able to hold their own and meet their challenges.
"This was excellent. I had fun," Terra admits, her body language showing it too. Excited breaths leaving her as she starts to calm herself.
It was strange to hold the sword now afterwards, but still natural in a way. Gently shifting it between hands in a testing manner. A request for winning? What could she ask for? Brows furrowing as she tried to figure out something.
The sword was nice, but she didn't know if it was something that could last, or something that she could master... Also did she really need something specifically for herself? Ah! Expression changing as it dawned upon her an idea.
"My partner, Queen. She is strong, and has spirit. But these last few challenges that we've faced together. I feel she just needs the right boost." Terra explains. She knew her pokemon wasn't weak, she just needed better ways to show that potential inside. "She's a Nidorina." Adding the species after that as for clarification and to allow the Keldeo to have a better chance at seeing if there was anything it could do.

"If I still had my horn, I could help them understand... let them see things the way we see them. Don't worry about me, Thel. Or us, I guess. You're going to be alright, and we're safe. The good in the world will look out for us, because we're good too." Leaning in, she kissed him in the moonlight. High above the couple's rest, a single shooting star arced across the midnight blue sky, and winked out of sight. Some things, once spoken, couldn't be taken back. The heartfelt words of young lovers murmured in the dark setting their course into a future forever away.
"Honor is acting fairly. Not striking your opponent in the back. Being respectful. Showing mercy when your opponent yields. Minding the cost of your actions, and making amends when they are wrong." The Gallade explains at length, the firmness of his expression giving way to a troubled one just briefly, those red eyes searching some distant point on the horizon. He offers the girls a small bow and leaves the hill. Keldeo considers Terra for a long moment, stepping down from the hill before striking it, again and again with that bold horn. Such is its fury, that two small pieces of its horn break loose. Picking these up, it drops one wordlessly in each girl's hand.
Rallying the other three quadrupeds, the four gallop off through the woods towards Cianwood. The war with Team Aqua begins.
(Muku and Terra each receive a Shard of Potential. This allows dramatic changes to a single Pokemon in your possession after an associated quest, which will be unveiled upon you making your choice, at the start of the next chapter. Until the quest is finished, it functions as an Eviolite for the Pokemon it is bound to.)
