Muku all but leered at the powerful, muscular Pokémon that now also shared the room with them. She shifts away slightly, keeping her distance and trying to stare out any nearby windows. "Just make sure you're careful. I don't think I've seen many Pokémon as strong as their Pokémon. Gunshow looks strong and probably is strong, but they are strong too and there are a lot of them."
She glances an eye back at the eager Fighting Type with the four arms with suspicion. There was something wrong about that Pokémon. Maybe the mouth? Definitely the mouth.

The call for this 'Gunshow' had Terra watching the doorways nearby until the named pokemon appeared. That was a big pokemon, for sure. And, the arms. Unlike Muku, she had her eyes focused on the Machamp, sizing it up silently. At the mention of the types that they saw around the area, it could be something that they could do in that case. She didn't want to just stay in the Center while the gym leader did what he stated. "That's fine. Right?" Terra said looking to her companion.
"We can see what's here in town first, then train away from the beach." Further from the beach would mean less gross water, and less chance of another encounter with that big dumb fish's mouth.

"In some ways, I guess you could say growing up as a human is like that. You're born, and your parents do their best raising you until you are mostly independent, then after that it's just a struggle where they want things their way, and you want them yours. Nobody dies, but... Mom's not exactly going to welcome me back with open arms after this stunt either." There is a soft spritzing sound, and Thel is greeted with a familiar scent from the other day as something wet spreads in patches against either side of his neck.
"The Lady that ran your den, I could compare her to the kinds of girls that get popular at the school you're going to. They win friends by being good battlers, ruthless gossips, attractive, or because their parents have money. They sabotage people they view as rivals, and step on anyone that doesn't join their following, or who are too weak to fight back." Whitney sets the brush down and moves to the small cluster of colored bottles. "Being different is going to make you a target, do you still want to go through with that? What color?" She offers Thel his pick of mattes and metallic polishes.
"Don't worry about me none, I'm the strongest around here." Chuck laughed. "Don't be strangers now, if you need anything you can drop by my home on the north end of town, the wife will be expecting you." With that said, he and his Pokemon vacated the gym in a hurry, leaving the girls alone with the muscular Gunshow. "Champ?" He asked Muku, making his pecs dance for her.
The town was a small affair, a local eatery offering a variety of seafood fried, steamed, or baked. A small mining operation had a shop offering trinkets on the side, another home had a sign up advertising boat tours or trips to the mainland, but the longer journey is only a once a week affair, and you've just missed it in this round. Lastly, one of Chuck's disciples claims to be a Martial Arts genius, and will teach his techniques to your Pokemon, but warns that if they aren't suitable for his technique that the training costs substantially more.
(In addition to the Gym, Center, and Mart, there is a shop that sells Stones, Type Gems, Braces, and Boosters, another that sells seafood themed Snacks, and a third that is a special Mentor. 1500 PYen per TP Spent, Ken can only teach Fighting Type, Punch, or Kick moves. If the move is not on any of the Pokemon's lists, but it shares a type, 3000 PYen per TP spent. If it is neither on its lists, nor its type, 6000 PYen per TP spent. If it lacks the requisite limbs, it cannot learn these moves under any circumstance.)

"I'm sorry that I've ended up breaking things here," he says. "You both seem very nice... much more so than anyone I would have know a few weeks ago, before this all happened. I' glad that it sounds like your parents try, though. Rather than 'here you go, do these things, figure them out, if you do it wrong you get punished.' It... was definitely painful learning..."
"Being in amongst those types of people is no different than what I've been dealing with all my life..." Thel replies. "The difference is now, I have people and Pokémon that I know care for me. I have something bigger than myself to cling to. I know there's more out there. Oh, uh," he looks at the polishes, perplexed at what they're for, "the purple looks nice. But," he gets back to his original point. "They can't hurt me worse than I've been hurting my entire life already..."

Unimpressed with pecs, Muku avoids their newest companion like the plague because he was a plague. A large, over muscled, overly caring plague. Something that strong shouldn't be that considerate. Power and consideration shouldn't go hand in hand, but there it was, politely opening doors and occasionally gesturing to nice things in the neighborhood like boat tour, food, and people who could teach her Pokémon to punch good. The last one, she was going to have to take up on some point to give Hornise some proper training.
But for now at least, she was at a loss, lost in a foreign place without a single person who hadn't been tortured in the same facility she was. Thinking about that caused her a bit of panic. This was her first time being really, REALLY without any members of her plock. Like, sure Terra could count, but she also didn't know Terra as much as she could.
That was in it's own way a problem, wasn't it? Muku found herself staring at the other girl with a strange sort of resentment mixed with suspicion. Just who was this girl she swam out to rescue? Why WOULD she have done something so... Reckless?

Needless to say, Terra while grateful to have a 'back up plan' of sorts. She was a bit wary about the idea of going to Chuck's home. A shake of her head to bring herself to the ongoings of their 'tour' being given by the pokemon around the city.
She would stare at the seafood for quite some time, slightly drooling even. That was one of the very few good things that came from being kidnapped on that awful boat. Was that she learned that the things that came from the ocean had a pretty delectable flavor and sometimes crunch.
After the annoyed expression of learning that they had just missed the boat to go back to the mainland. At the stores, Terra would examine the items that were displayed with silence and a mental note to check back with the man who could teach their pokemon moves. However, she decided not to spend all her funds in one place.
At first, the glare was going unnoticed, Terra focused on their current situation. Until the three of them were done sight-seeing around. "Do we want to take a short break, or are we good to go out to check out the land further in?" Looking towards the former Starly, she paused at the other's intense gaze. "What?" Her tone was level. Not understanding what the look was for.

“I’m not staring.” Muku replied, answering neither question and turning her gaze pointedly at the Gunshow. Ugh. What a flexing monstrosity. Four arms was just too many! She looks back to Terra where her expression softens. Terra had the right amount of arms. But she was mentioning the hills. Right? Right.
Muku turns to look at the nearby cliffs and forbidding juts of rock and dirt. Were it not for all the bad, no-good for drinking seawater. “I wouldn’t mind checking out the mountains. It’s homey.”
She bites her lip before fixing her eyes back onto Terra. “What kind of Pokémon were you?” She asks. Muku didn’t particularly need or want to know. But it felt odd not knowing.

The avoiding of both her questions, brought a raised eyebrow and a slight frown. Gaze staying as Muku took in the sight of the cliffs before replying about the reminding of home. "I can agree about it being a bit more comfortable," she comments with a nod.
At the question, the girl blinks some in surprise, as if she hadn't thought about the fact that the pokemon she was before had not come up before now. "Oh." Terra clears her throat a little before answering, seeing what the other's reaction would be. "Was a Larvitar."

"Well, glad to hear you are confident at least, that doesn't mean you shouldn't be prepared though." Whitney comments as she unscrews the cap of the little purple bottle. "Hold out one of your hands, and spread your fingers just a bit. Thing is, with humans? What you've been through, both before and after your uh... change? It's not allowed. Mom can make me find my own way, stop talking to me, probably get me in trouble with the league if she really wants to, for abandoning my post." Whitney shrugged. "Even if she wanted to hurt me, she can't in any physical way. Socially, sure, emotionally maybe. I guess that's a big difference between people and Pokemon. You're all a bit more wild." After Thel complied, she drew a small brush from the bottle and gently ran the purple lacquer over the nail on his pointer finger. "What do you think?"
Gunshow was very clear with Muku, that ever should her gaze fall upon him, he would be a rippling wall of muscles and gentlemanly manners. It seemed to be a good deterrent for the staring at least. He was perfectly happy to carry their things, and when the conversation turned to more somber topics, listened intently. At the mention of the mountains, he beamed his duck-mouthed smile, at Terra's mention of Larvitar this expression waned, replaced by curiosity and he gestured towards the high cliffs. "Champ?"

“Oh.” Muku says awkwardly. Her eyes shift onto the Gunshow who flexes. Awful. They go further until they were looking at nothing. Better. “I don’t really know what that is. But then again, I didn’t know what Thel was or what El was or what Kursz was until I saw them.
She stops what she’s doing to fiddle with her hair before adding, “There must be a lot of Pokémon in the world.”
Anyways that was enough thinking. She walks up to a jutting piece of stone and looks up. It was a little ways up, but it felt like she could maybe climb it. She never had to climb before. That could be new. She turns back to Terra with a unguarded smile. “Race you to the top? There can’t be more ocean up there!”

"I wouldn't say that I'm confident…" he says, "Just... I can reflect now on the past. See it for what it truly was, not the happy haze of the time. But I have happy memories to cling onto now. They can't take those away... a-at least I hope they can't." There's some wavering. "I just... said I would try and be more independent, a better person... and part of that is I need to hope that things will turn out well. Because otherwise I'll just... not do things."
"Oh, that looks nice," Thel says, looking at his nail. "If a bit cold. ...what's it for?"

"Makes sense. Larvitar tend to stick to the mountains they're born in. About... yea big I think?" Terra tries to explain giving a guesstimate with her hands to demonstrate size. "We have, had, really tough skin. Strong jaws, for eating all sorts of stones and minerals," she adds. That would probably sound strange to Muku, of course it would.
Silence coming at the offer of a race. Larvitar weren't known for their speed. However she had grown to liking being able to move quicker than she was used to before the change. An experimental flex of her hands, then a nod. "You know, that sounds like it could be fun," Terra replies with a grin. "Should we have Gunshow give the when to start?"

"We ate rocks too sometimes. Pebbles Older birds said it helped with digestion as long as you didn't eat too many." Muku says with a shrug. Terra was a lot smaller of a Pokémon than she would have expected though. Not that it mattered. No. Only the race mattered now.
"Anyways. Yeah. Gunshow gives the go, and whoever gets to the top... Gets to the top first!" She flexes her arms and gets down into a crouched position. Climbing wasn't exactly her forte either. Her speed wasn't much either as a Starly. But if she wanted to be a raptor, then she would need to go fast. Gotta go fast! Gotta feel the wind on her feathers! Kiyiyiyiyiyiyaaah!

"This is a kind of cosmetic, items used to make you look nice. It's called 'nail polish'. It is used to add color to your nails, because the human body can be pretty boring and people choose to express themselves in a lot of different ways." Whitney explained as she proceeded to apply the stuff to one nail after the next after Thel's approval of the look. "Then we have makeup options for your face, dyes for your hair, some people choose to get piercings, and wear jewelry, as a bit of shine breaks up your outline a lot and precious stones are a sign of status. There is a lot of emphasis put on appearances, especially for girls, and doubly so at that school. Kind of grosses me out if I'm honest, even if I do enjoy the aesthetic."
Gunshow raised his powerful arms over his head and flexed, then lowering them one at a time, initiated a countdown. "Macha, Macha, Macha, MACHAMP!" With the hands thrown the girls were off and attempting to scale the rocky terrain before them to the highest point. Gunshow remained at the base of the cliff, lower set of arms folded around his waist, upper pair relaxed and waiting should one of the girls take an unfortunate tumble. (Three Athletics checks each please.)

"Oh!" Thel is taken aback at all that. "That's... a lot. I don't think I could keep all of that straight. I would never have even thought about that. But... I guess it makes sense. It's like... more and more layers of clothes. Interesting."
"I've never really... thought about standing out before. Usually that would mean you screwed up really, really bad if you stood out. Maybe super-rarely if you did something spectacular... but that was all subject to the Lady's whims, so... he shrugs. "Never worth trying to do anything in that sense. Just... blend in. Hope for approval. It sounds fun to be able to stand out like this."

A moment passed as Terra prepped her own stretches and taking position to start beside the other. Muscles flexing as Gunshow counted down before hearing the loud cry to start, the eagerness filling her eyes. Her feet pushing her forwards, hands moving to take hold of the cliff. Adrenaline filled her body as she felt the thrill of a competition. Let's go, you might be in a different form, but mountainous areas were the Larvitar's home. She could beat Muku certainly! Limbs reaching and stretching for purchases to pull her self upwards. A wide smile coming to her lips as she feels the effort she is putting in. Terra's results: 19, 19, 14

"Kiyiyiyahhh!" Muku screams at last, jumping as high as she could and latching onto the rock face for dear life. Climbing and the existence of opposable thumbs were not something that Muku was used to. But she was a bird and birds liked cliffs. She knew where all the little handleholds were, the safety bits, the perch zones. Could she get high? Muku could get high. But could she get there fast? Well. Only one way to FIND OUT! Arm over arm, she flings herself up the wall and sets a strong pace for herself. She. Could. Do it! Athletics Check 3! 5ZT_xxBW4d6 4d6 4d6 4d6·4d6·4d6

"Keep your fingers spread and blow on your nails to help the polish dry, once it's hardened it won't come off without some pretty strong remover, or over time as your nails grow. Did you want me to do more? I've got concealers to even your skin tone, powders to lighten or darken it, makeups to accentuate your lashes, eyelids, lips, and cheeks." Whitney seemed to really be getting into this, an excited air about her ministrations.
The race began in earnest, with Terra pulling ahead early and keeping good pace. Climbing was exactly how she remembered it, minus having the physical strength to embed her limbs in the rock itself. It brought back a flood of nostalgia, the stability of the earth that might be displaced but never truly faded as she ascended higher and higher, about halfway up the cliffside now. Looking down might have been some small concern, her body was a lot softer then it used to be. Gunshow watched.
Muku, on the other hand, was not having a great time. Wing and breast strength were very important for birds, but as she tried to catch up to Terra her legs, which had been so tiny and mostly for holding onto things and hopping around, starly legs, not the powerful destroying talons of a Staraptor, they slipped free of the cliff and hung below her. The trainer clung to her handholds for dear life and attempted to recover, Gunshow moving into position to catch her if needed.
(Terra may make three more checks, or attempt to assist Muku though the difficulty will be very high without climbing gear. Muku needs to make a DC 14 to recover or she falls, if that succeeds she may continue climbing for the remaining three checks as normal.)

"Sure," Thel says, laughing. "Why not? Though," he asks, "Didn't you say you didn't like all this stuff? Why do you have so much of it?"
It's a strange scenario. A mountain-lizard turned human sitting in a forest, getting prettied up by someone he'd only met the day before. And yet... despite it all, it feels good. He feels like he belongs - to some degree, anyways.

With a squeak Muku, begins straining under the weight of her now heavy body, fingers holding onto her hold for dear life as her talon feet manage to lose what she had thought was an easy foothold. Now they were dangling and her entire body weight was squarely set on dragging her poor fingers. She grimaces. How had it come to this?! She had been doing so well just a second ago. Like sure, she needed a second to try and get caught up to Terra but that didn't suggest that she was going to lose her handle on the rock! Whatever! She just needed to get herself going again, right? Right. With a painful grunt of exertion, she tries to throw herself upward to get her feet back onto a ledge. Or something. Anything. As long as she could shift her weight off her arms, she could still win this. Muku doesn't give up! Athletics! - rk7tH92D4d6 4d6
