And that's that! It flies across the room, and Nue stands with her only pokemon still standing. She is awarded the Pewter City Badge, a Milestone, Tm 23 Smackdown and 218 poke xp.

Nue bows politely as she accepts her rewards. Perhaps she should try using something other than Ferrothorn in the future...but that's not efficient....it is "fair" though. Right? That's what 'fairness' is supposed to be, isn't it? Social rules are surprisingly complex. Ferrothorn dips its head in acknowledgement of the challenge set before it. Nue can do polite, at the very least.
Despite her wealth of knowledge of social expectations in high society, she's found that such does not translate well to...what do they call it? Low society? Even to Nue that seems somewhat rude, even if it logically makes the most sense. Why do they call it 'high society' if not to place a similar label on everyday society? Language is just as, if not more confusing than the "rules" of social interaction.

Nue makes her way south, heading to port. She treehops throughout the rest of the day, resting when needed, heading southeast toward Vermillion with the intention of getting to Johto. The next morning, she finally gets to Saffron.
Or... more accurately, where Saffron 'should' be. Last time Nue checked, there wasn't a huge airport adjacent to it! And it's not long before she sees, in huge obvious letters: 'Mistralton City Airport' on the side of the main facility. Looking around in Ninja-confusion (Stoicly standing but confused only internally), she even notices that there's a definite line near the forest she exited where the species of foliage (even the grass) changes. Almost a perfect line.
Her dex also dings with the notification 'Map updated!' A new app has been automatically downloaded called 'map.exe', and opening it reveals a map that's mostly blacked out (And the black seems to be... pulsing?). The only things that are revealed currently is what you've visited so far. Pallet, Viridian, Pewter, and now Mistralton. Also brings up the notification 'out of range for group sync'

Nue blinks. That's...not right. This is where Saffron City should be. Something is not right. This makes no sense. Nue is wary, but skirts around the edges of the airfield. Maybe she can get a sense for where she is. Perhaps wherever this is can even help her get to Johto (provided it even exists!). Actually, now she thinks of it, a map would be helpful. So she keeps an eye out for one as she sneaks around.

She doesn't find a map, but skirting around this airfield she finds the other side and yes indeed, this is indeed the Unovan city, RIGHT where Saffron should be. Something is really wrong to her, but people are milling about the town and the air field, normal as normal could be.

Hm. Nue is good at stealth, but her shinobi uniform tends to stand out. So, she begins making plans. An "order of operations" so to speak. First things first: Scout the edge of the city. Check for surveillance equipment like cameras. Even if there is no reason for her to be wanted by the law, the less she is seen, the better. Now, obviously this depends on the level of modernization in the city. Johto cities tend to be a lot more traditional when they are not required to be otherwise (such as the international port of Olivine, or Goldenrod). Once Nue gets a sense for how much "ordinary" surveillance is around, she'll plan out her next move.

There's a smattering of surveillance. Mostly around the airport and the cargo area but not exactly in the town proper. So unless she plans on stealing shit from the main cargo area she'll be able to move around mostly easily.

Nue nods. This is acceptable. She has no plans for thievery, but will resort to it should it prove necessary. She ducks into the city, sticking to the shadows for the most part, and avoiding people (sure, rooftop traversal might be "faster", but it would draw more attention). She finds the nearest clothing store and opts to purchase some "street clothes" (or, what she perceives as 'street clothes') before exploring the city further.

With the pokemon world as it is, a ninja traversing the street is more an uncommon occurance but not exactly 'rare'. So she doesn't really get a strange look from anyone in the store that is there. She does get the sense from the clerk that maybe the clerk thinks she knows why Nue is buying clothes, but she couldn't be further from the truth.

New outfit purchased and normal/combat outfit stored away in her pack, Nue looks around the city for a visitor's center or a Pokemon Center. Someplace that'd have a map of the region. She has some clue as to where she is beyond "Mistralton City", as after all, two of her favorite Pokemon are Unovan. Still, she wants to see a map to determine if the map is screwy as well or if it's just the reality; strange as that sounds. The sad part for Nue's plan concerning avoiding unwanted attention is, she probably turns more heads in her new outfit than in her normal attire; if only because regular clothes just so happen to show off more and quite possibly make her less intimidating.

In most centers there is a helpful 'you are here' board, but looking at it reveals a featureless shape of the Kanto region. It's just the shape, with green filled in. And Nue of course asks anyone nearby, and they look confused and say there's nothing wrong with the map. Including some pointing.

Nue is very confused by all of this. Something is very wrong here. Trips to Johto are best put on indefinite hold.

It's hard for her to concentrate, but one of the conversations sticks out, and her really straining her brain is the only reason she's able to remember it again and hold onto it.
"Something wrong with ya eyes? Your right here in Mistralton! You visiting from somewhere, maybe? I'll help you out. North of us is alkdEP32 and south of us is %$a,elk5. There's also (lkds88 to the east, and eventually going west you'll end up in 777eicl*. That clear it up missy? Good, alright cya!"

That...those were not words. That wasn't even human speech! Something is wrong here. Very wrong. Not only is Mistralton in the wrong location, but the map of the region is wrong as well. It doesn't even have proper labels for the region it displays! Nue quickly writes all of this down in her logbook. Just in case she forgets. Like she did with...other things. She doesn't know what those things are/were, but her logical mind and the missing dates and events in her book combined with the mysterious "timeline reset" that occurred shortly after their encounter with Shio lead Nue to believe that something is very wrong here.
The world, for lack of a better term, appears "broken". Things are not as they should be. She needs to get back. Needs to warn the others. It may be that Route 3 is alright, but is Mt. Moon? What about the areas beyond? Nue has no idea how to deal with this. It makes no sense. The world doesn't just...break like this. If the legends are true, and The Creation Trio of Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina (or even just the first two) are meant to hold the world together by maintaining space and time (with Giratina perhaps being the 'glue' in this analogy) then...has something happened to them? She immediately makes her way directly back to where she entered "Mistralton" from: the far side of the airfield. Presuming that the world is as broken as it appears, she should be able to get back to Pewter in that way.

Nue finds herself in a cloudy grey sky. She's not flying however, but on the top of a skyscraper office building, right where Lavender town used to be. Obviously being the scout-like ninja she is, she went to investigate, but attempted to sneak into a higher floor from the outside.
And that's where things went... weird. She entered a window only to find she was heading out the front door. Scaling in again took her to a random floor, and then she tried to get out the window, only finding herself getting to random floors. A few later and she was on the roof. Deciding to take a minute here to think, it's now clear to her that this glitch in reality does NOT like her trying to cheat moving from floor to floor.
So she now stands on the roof, and there seems to be only one way down that will actually obey some sort of laws of reality. Well... two technically but she won't arrive alive that way.

Hm. Disconcerting. Well, if there is only one (safe) way down, then Nue shall simply have to go through the building itself. She looks around for a stairwell or something leading down.

The only thing she really sees is the roof access door she had inexplicably exited after her last attempt.

Well, better than uselessly attempting to scale down the building again. She heads inside, weapon at the ready.

Nue comes down and finds another office level, but FUCK it's cold. In fact, other than a small area around where the stairs let off, everything is frozen over! Office doors and windows with a sheer cover of ice over them!

Nue can't help but shiver just a bit before steeling herself to get through this level as quickly (but safely!) as possible.
