"Yes! Macavity triumphs once more!" As she's collecting her winnings, Melissa offers Aaron a handshake. "Well fought. It's good to find a gym that provides a proper challenge, unlike some I could name. Might I ask if I could persuade you to part with one of those curious electromagnetic Geodude?"

"Once you heal up, head back down to where you fought in the pit. I'll send word ahead, for ya. Go get your rock on."
He grins cheekily.

Melissa heads back down to her pit arena, and this time the lights are on, and the ring is still surrounded by Geodude of all sorts. One of the Alolan ones jumps into the arena and pounds the ground, clearly ready to rumble!

Melissa sends out her just-revived Musharna! Hipparchia looks considerably happier with this enemy than the last one. Big ghosts are mean. Rocks, she can handle. Psychic laser time! Hipparchia - 3

The geodude all start chanting as the fight begins, although the one geodude is not happy about a blast that nearly takes it out to begin with. But that won't stop it trying to punch the shit out of the psychic type! Thunder Punch AC 2 Electric Special (paralyze on 19+) AMQU0eKj1d20 3d8+30

Hipparchia is punched! And emits a puff of pink mist into the Geodude's face. Melissa, spotting her opportunity, hurls a Poke Ball! Dream Smoke puts Geodude to sleep.

No, no, bad Geodude. Back to sleep with you. Hipparchia beams relaxing vibes in its direction, while Melissa tries again with another ball. Hypnosis! Can't miss.

As you enter the challenge room, the walls shimmer brightly, and five doors open up, revealing five Greninja! They all take the field, ready to fight you as you figure out which is the 'real' one and KO it! Melissa examines the enemy with a critical eye. Dark-types. That's going to be a rough match for Hipparchia and Diogenes. And of course they're meant to have unexpected tricks up their sleeves. Let's see if she can't flush out some of those tricks... "Ribaldequin, go!"
Her Lucario takes the field, fists raised and ready to defend itself.
Ribaldequin - 15

Ribaldequin takes the blow on the forearms, not seeming too phased by it. If that's the best they can do, he can safely leave that one for last. Two of the others are obviously doing tricksy things... he takes a step back and hurls a ball of chi energy at one of the pair that hasn't acted yet.

Biff! Pow! The shuriken are doing a number on Ribaldequin, but he keeps going. Of the two closest to him, one is ghosty enough to ignore his best punches, and the other is clearly a Zoroark in disguise, the silly thing. He directs a vicious kick into the ground, catches a piece of the floor, and uses it as a bludgeon against the ghostlike Greninja.
