Leibling crawls back up onto Victoria's shoulder and they take off for the end of the route, as it's getting later in the day and this simple path is pretty fully explored now.
I hope I wasn't too harsh on her with that... I mean, she does need to learn typing. All that energy into that second attack, if it was anything other than grass... she woulda had it. And unfortunately 'I' can't really let a kid beat me to start, not with the persona I'm trying to build.

It's a brand new day! Victoria heads up Route 30, stopping briefly at a small pond that has some Pokemon hanging around it. Oh, look! There's a Surskit gliding on the water's surface! Those are pretty rare in Johto.

And the Weedle, who was still on Victoria's shoulder, certainly gets splashed, but so is the human she was riding! Victoria looks up surprised, and then sad and confused.
"What did I do?"
She looks to the now very 'guilty' looking Leibling and back to the probably shocked Surskit. She leans over to it.
"Was she messing with you?"

Surskit is definitely surprised. It kinda forgot the human was there. It does indicate the bits of string shot floating in the water for her 'evidence' of Weedle shenanigans. Surskit can't use String Shot, after all.

Surskit does precisely this, zipping back and forth to send tiny waves of water at Weedle until it is properly soaked. Once that happens, Surskit deems itself 'satisfied' with the 'punishment'. Cheeky lil' thing, ain't it?

Leibling nods sadly and she recalls her to let her dry off that way. Victoria looks back to the Surskit.
"Sorry about that. I guess you had your fun now, right? You know what, a cutie like you should come along. I need someone to keep Leibling in check from time to time."

"Whoo! Welcome aboard!"
And that's three pokemon! But, now that creates a problem. She's currently headed straight toward the first gym and her pokemon are all still quite inexperienced. She really needs some training, and hopes to run into some trainers.
