Kai wasn't entirely comfortable with the thought of something crying out there, so he put down his backpack, since it held a good chunk of their travel supplies. "Uh, I'm gonna go check that out. I wanna see what's making that noise and see if I can do anything."
He stuffs a few items from hi backpack into his pockets, notably some potions balls and water, and finally pulling out his flashlight. "If you guys wanna get started on camp, you can, I'll be fine as long as I'm just checking it out."
He started moving deeper into the cave, but he did start slow in case either of his companions wanted to join in on it.

"After fighting a dozen or more critters in one go, I ain't lettin' you wander off on yer lonesome. May as well look into it 'fore we settle for tonight. You comin' Cole?" Theodore gathered up his things in similar fashion, and released Lone Ranger, the Pokemon's gem glowing brightly in the darkness.

Cole waves the other two off "Nah, I'll get camp set up. You guys took care of the horde earlier, so I'll make it up by having everything ready and getting dinner going"

Kai and Theo head into the cave, the noises starting up every so often, before falling off again. The natural formation goes a fair bit back into the mountain - though, really not much more than a minute or two of walking along turns - far enough that they probably wouldn't be able to see without bringing their own lights. There are some branching areas, but they're not large enough for humans. Bats and noise could probably travel through them, though.
Rounding a final bend, a group of Pokémon come into view. In the center is a bipedal cyclops with a glowing red eye, hands floating in front of it. Around it, in seeming various stages of distress and clinging to each other, are little brown Pokémon with bone skulls on their heads.

"Uh, Any clue what's happening here, T? Cause I'm a bit confused on what I'm looking at..." Kai was resisting the urge to run up and immediately battle, but only really cause he had absolutely no clue what was going on here. It looked like it was scaring them? Kai wasn't good at this kind of stuff...
He put a hand in his pocket, grabbing hold of his Milotic's pokeball, just in case tings went sour.

"Hard t'say. Ah recall them saying at the center bout a pokemon that cries a lot at night. Hang up." Theodore fished his Dex from his pocket, pointing it at the spectral figure and flipping it open. "Doesn't seem like it's doing nothing nohow... just sorta sittin there..."

"Dusclops, the Beckon Pokémon," the 'Dex reads out. "Dusclops's body is completely hollow - there is nothing at all inside. It is said that its body is like a black hole. This Pokémon will absorb anything into its body, but nothing will ever come back out. Negative emotions act like a beacon to this Pokémon, and sources of great despair will often have many wandering around."
The cyclops looks unblinkingly at the Trainers, peering up and down, looking them over. It takes a surprisingly heavy step towards them, hands outstretched. Then another. The huddled group of Pokémon behind it don't seem to know what to make of this. Some peer forwards, one scrambles more towards the back of the cave. This causes the Dusclops to glance behind itself, and shoot out a hand, gently moving the little mammal back towards the others, before looking back at the Trainers.

"Looks like he's gathered 'em up to just sorta stare at all the sad. Unless there's something I'm not gettin here? What's got the little boneheads so riled anyway?" Theodore turns his Dex on the Cubone next, Ranger giving a soft sigh beside him, the myriad colors its gem sheds lighting the area.

"That one's a Cubone, they evolve into Fire Ghost types, Kiawe had one!" Kai winced as he realized he said that a bit to loud, glancing warily at the Dusclops and pulling his hands out of his pockets, empty as he let go of Miltoic's ball. It didn't seem hostile, and if he could help it he would do his best to just try and have a casual social visit... at least if the Cubone were indeed alright.

"Cubone, the Lonely Pokémon," Theo's 'Dex reads once more. "Marowak disappear soon after their eggs hatch and it is certain the babies will survive. Cubone thus pines for the mother it will never see again. Seeing a likeness of its mother in the full moon, it cries even harder. The stains on the skull it wears are from its tears. Only when it gains acceptance can it evolve, beginning the cycle anew."
The Dusclops advances towards the humans once more, taking a handful of slow, deliberate steps that echo about the cave like tremendous heartbeats. It makes an unintelligible noise as it stares at the Trainers, the air seeming to grow a bit thicker and darker, even with Lone Ranger's light. The noise of Kai, the rumbling of the Dusclops, the echoing of the cave or some combination also seems to have set off the Cubone again, and they begin to wail once more.

Theodore physically bristles, the fine hairs on the back of his neck rising with the *thump thump* of the Dusclops' staggered footsteps and the distortion of the air itself. "It's like that house all over again." He mutters in a dry whisper, and cast a glance down at Ranger's guttering light.
"Ranger, Psywave, served us pretty well before." The psychic ripple washed over the gray Pokemon and seemed to just disappear into it. A small nervous sound escapes Theodore and he pelts the Hollow Pokemon with a ball.

Kai flinched as the Psywave flew forward, there goes any chance at trying to handle this peacefully, though he can't exactly blame T. If it reminded him of the horror house, he wouldn't say it's an overreaction, regardless, Kai started to back off, grabbing Kele's ball and getting ready to send them out.

The void of the Dusclops swallows all the light of the psychic blast, before the ghost thuds up to the Starmie, seeming to tower even more ominously over the Pokémon, before some of the luster of the star is sucked away. It seems to be pulsating a little more erratically now, and not quite so fast. Theo's ball at least seems to hit... but it's also sucked inside. Starmie Misses. Theo hits with the Pokéball. Dusclops uses Frighten on Starmie. Starmie's speed lowers by 2 CS. Dusclops uses Skill Swap on Starmie. Starmie loses Natural Cure, and Gains Frighten. Map

Visibly sweating in the erratic light from Ranger's gem, Theodore takes a shaky step back. "R-ranger use Camouflage... We have a bad type matchup here... Then uh... Scare the pants offa 'em back."
Starmie changes type based on terrain, becoming solid shades of brown, black, and gray, then uses Frighten on Dusclops.

Finally managing to pull the ball out of his pockets, Kai takes only a second before deciding where to send out Kele, right behind the Dusclops. "Sorry but I need you to take care of that quick Kele!"The Milotic blinked once before coiling up, firing a watery ring towards the cyclopean ghost. The newly rocky Ranger does its best to make the flickering menacing, but the attempt at intimidation is simply mirrored by the single eye of the ghost, pulsating in eerie harmony, drowning out the attempts at glowing. It doesn't even turn around as the water from Kani spirals around it, disappearing into the void of its body, before it reaches out towards Ranger, its fist reaching inside the crystal core... and squeezing. A few hairline fractures momentarily appear beneath the surface of gem after it withdraws, before slowly sealing shut again, the light of the core pulsing slower. The air feels thicker yet again, as shadows begin to gather and writhe over the surface of the Dusclops' body. The cyclops takes another step forwards, still looming over Ranger, yet moving closer to the Trainers beyond. Starmie becomes Rock-Typed. Dusclops loses 2 Speed CS from Frighten. It doesn't seem to matter. Milotic misses. Starmie takes 26 damage from Shadow Punch. Dusclops gains a Curse Token. Dusclops Disengages.

"W-We'll get him this time, we gotta Ranger... use Psywave again." Theodore retreats several steps, as Starmie tries once more to get the monstrous ghost's attention with a brighter pulse of light from its gem.

Well, it seemed focused on the star, so best to actually try and hit it, rather than keep floundering around. "Hop up beside it and flank it with Ranger, then keep the water flowing!"Kele sprang up, landing beside the Dusclops, making sure to actually aim this time! It gathered the water in the air and threw it out once more! Focused Training Splash +2 Evasion Water Pulse VS Dusclops AC 2 Acc 17 53 Water Special Damage

The psychic beam strikes true this time, exploding into psychic shards within the other 'mon that lance out, lacerating parts of the cyclops, and forcing wisps of darkness out, light twinkling like stars in the shadows. Milotic's water takes advantage of the cracks and forces them open wider, more shadowstuff spilling out before the Ghost roars and the wounds close mostly back up, only slightly leaking. The starlight within the wisps of shadows flow around and clump together, forming faint images in the darkness. It almost seems like images of Pokémon... and as the Cubone in the back begin to cry again, the pictures become more distinct. They're images of a Pokémon very much like Cubone, likely its evolution... but things happen to it. In one, an indistinct monstrous shadow vaguely like a giant bird carries the specter off, winking out. In another, the bone helmet on its head gets partially caved in, revealing an expression ablaze with spectral fire. A third has its flesh slough off, vanishing to reveal a skeleton beneath. Many more less distinct apparitions float about, congregating, shining with a light that does not reflect properly. And they turn towards the living combatants. The Dusclops' eye glows once more as it faces Kani, the serpent getting wrapped in a glowing web of writhing ropes that sink into its skin, a clear panic and confusion visible in its eyes afterwards. The ghost whips around once more to reach into Ranger's crystal again, the cracks formed by its grasp not fully healing this time, the inside spiderwebbed with hairline fractures. The specters, the spirits, the abominations... whatever emerged from the Dusclops, they surround the Pokémon with wails, chilling all who hear them, attacking with shattered ghostly clubs, or tattered claws, or other less distinct forms of attack. They don't seem to deal any actual damage... but the clawing was not merely physical. Psywave hits. Water Pulse Staggers Dusclops. Milotic is confused from Confuse Ray. Dusclops gains a Curse Token. Starmie takes 32 damage and an injury from Shadow Punch. Duclops gains a Curse Token. Milotic is Suppressed from the Specters' attacks. The Specters miss Ranger.

"Ranger can't take anymore pounding, ain't used to it... And Six probably won't fit well in here... Ugh... Can't believe Ahm doing this. Lucille yore up."
Releasing the orange and yellow fish, it flops helplessly a few feet from the dusclops, watching it with a great deal of nervous intensity. "Can you do anything other then splash yet? We been practicing... please." No response, just more panicked flopping. Maybe running was the better option here? Fleeing so they could not be swallowed up by the growing darkness.
Then the fish lit from within. It wasn't an attack, but it was certainly pissed. The massive creature dwarfed even the Milotic, gnashing it's teeth and letting out a bellow.
(Theo Full switches. Lucille evolves officially, misses with Bite and uses Intimidate on Dusclops, lowering its attack 1 CS)
