Stephanie heads back to the Ghost Branch to get to work on finding a Pokemon of said type for the Branch. The oddest thing is that she swears she spies a Pikachu out of the corner of her eye, darting around a corner.

After an extended chase sequence, Stephanie finally seems to corner the "Pikachu" in some back room. It turns to face her fully, and there is just enough light to realize that...this...isn't a Pikachu. It actually looks like a ratty, old Pikachu costume or something. Or a cloth that someone drew Pikachu features on. The 'head' wobbles slightly, as if there's nothing but air in it. Two small slits where a Pikachu's abdomen would be seem to gleam with a light of their own. It's...unnerving. Even for Ghost Branch.

Stephanie stares at it for a bit. Now that makes more sense for something that could be here.
"Oh perfect."
She kneels down and looks at it. Clearly it's faking being a pikachu, whatever it is. So it probably would rather be called that, wouldn't it?
"Come here little Pikachu, you made me chase you down the hall, you can at least give me the time of day."

'Kyu kyu', it hisses. It remains where it is, but doesn't flee when it obviously could given its size. It seems to be waiting to see if Stephanie will approach it or not. Surely this faux-Pikachu isn't that frightening.

Stephanie feigns sleeping, putting her head on her hands.
"You like it when pokemon and people are like this, right? You know, like a Pikachu does, right?"
Stephanie moves closer, still sitting on the floor. She opens her arms to invite the creature onto her lap. It's gotta want attention wearing that.

The strange, faux-Pikachu sort of...glides along the ground over to Stephanie. It stops just in front of her and creates a crude drawing of a Pikachu in the thin layer of dust on the ground. It then viciously tears the picture apart before looking back at Stephanie. Seems it...hates? Pikachu and wants to kill them or something.

Fauxachu only tilts its head again. Seems it's not sure what Stephanie is asking. Maybe it's one of those ghosts that don't naturally learn the sleep-based moves? Of course, if Stephanie knew what it was, that would probably help.

The Tome, despite bearing a stronger 'scanning' enchantment than the iteration from the previous generation, still takes a minute to actually figure out what Fauxachu is. When the entry finally comes up, it states the name as being 'Mimikyu'. The 'trivia' portion has this to say about the unique Ghost/Fairy Pokemon: Creepy.

That entry doesn't seem to phase Stephanie at all. Obviously that 'trainer' was weak-willed. Stephanie is probably fine. She reads the info on the creature and it looks like it's not recorded to have the abilites she's looking for, but only naturally. Rare cases are reported to have them. Good enough for Stephanie.
"We'll get you to learn how, then you'll munch on their dreams and give them nightmares, and then tell me all about it after!"
She puts the tome away and looks to the creature. She holds out a ball.
"Come on little guy, you should come with me. I live here in this branch anyway, you'll be in a very familiar location anyway."

Seeing as Ruby has her dialogue with the Misdreavus well in hand, Stephanie heads off on her own to see if there is anything interesting in these woods. While walking, she swears there is a bush following her. A bush of all things!
