"Excellent. I look forward to seeing what you accomplish." Svetlana affirms. She then has one of her subordinates give Stephanie the grand tour, showcasing the dorms, the 'quiet study' rooms, the 'casual' room (a lounge, basically), and all the other important bits.

"Excellent. I look forward to accomplishing them!"
Stephanie nods along with the showcase of the branch, and claims a bed in the girl's side and drops off what little stuff she has.
"Lets... go see if there's indeed some objectives on the board right away before I really sit down for some research..."
Stephanie goes with Destiny to find the job board in question.

For some strange reason, Stephanie feels oddly hypnotized by the job board. Yet, it doesn't feel weird. Not at first. A small voice in the back of her head says 'this isn't right, signs don't hypnotize people', but the voice is just that: small and quiet. Stephanie's conscious mind mostly brushes it off. After an undetermined amount of time, she suddenly snaps out of her daze, the Branch Leader's hand on her shoulder. "I told you to keep your guard up, didn't I? Most of the Ghost Pokemon in here are Wild still, and won't hesitate to prey on unsuspecting humans." She states. "You've just fallen victim to a Gastly's hypnosis. Congratulations." She smirks. "It's gone now though. I drove it off for the time being. Best keep your mental shields up from now on." Once certain that Stephanie is suffering no long-lasting effects of the hypnosis, she walks away again, leaving Stephanie to properly take a look at the job board.
It's... pretty barren. There are some things pertaining to research papers and 'exposure therapy', but other than that it's just generic missions that appear on any board in the Guild. There is, of course, a legend off to one side of the board that details what each rank means, and the average reward for such, but there are no missions rated above a 'B' posted at this time. Whether this is due to an overall lack of qualifying tasks, or something else is unclear from just a cursory examination. The most notable mission at this time is less of a 'mission' and more of a 'strongly recommended task'. It is a C-Rank mission to acquire a Ghost-Type Pokemon for personal use. While normally going out to befriend/capture a new Pokemon would be D-ranked at best, Ghost Pokemon are inherently dangerous enough to approach (even with proper precautions) that Lady Dracul decided it should be higher-ranked.

Stephanie shakes off the effect of the hypnosis. Clearly she was just in her own thoughts! Clearly. But she takes a 'real' look at the board and the only thing that sticks out is picking up a ghost type. Eventually she of course was going to have to get one, ghost branch or no. But really she only needs one that can dream eat for research down the line, and Destiny shares that responsibility. And with the wild types right here in where she'll be staying, it's too easy of a target. She heads out into the nearby forestry hunting for something specific...

Outside in the forest, despite it getting darker, Stephanie manages to navigate well enough to find a Smeargle just doing its own thing at the edge of town. Seems to be...marking territory or something?

Oh well now. That's an excellent choice. A blank slate, if you will. Ohhhh, she could even see if it could learn dream eater! How would it do with it being a non-psychic and a non-ghost? FASCINATING.
Stephanie casually throws Destiny out.
"Destiny, Yawn, if you'd please."
Destiny does as instructed while her trainer readies a ball.
(Destiny - 1, Yawn makes the target fall asleep at the end of their next turn, can't miss)

Smeargle whips around, only to be hit dead in the face with the cutesy cloud that represents the Yawn attack. Why does it look this way? Nobody knows. Smeargle yawns loudly and darts off into the woods to try and hide before it passes out.

"No, no, you aren't getting away. Lets get after it!"
Stephanie and Destiny race/float after it.

The Smeargle manages to stave off sleep for just long enough to disappear out of sight behind a tree right before Stephanie and Destiny get there. Pausing for a moment, as it can't have got far, they can faintly hear a light snoring coming from some bushes nearby. Looking within is the sleepy Smeargle!

Sleepy Smeargle is caught! Level 14, Female, Relaxed, with iZBnVvTA1d12 (Violet: +6 HP) Color Theory. It has two available uses of Sketch, as one was used on the move Tackle.1d12

Steph picks the ball up with a smirk.
"Perfect."
...And now it's a little dark. She continues to look around for a while longer but doesn't see anything that she needs, so she heads back to the branch.

After acquiring her new Mimikyu, Stephanie wanders back into the main area and finds Lady Dracul "teaching" that same group from before about how to handle being around Ghost-Types. A couple of them look like they're slightly less afraid than previously, but it's not by much. Lady Dracul doesn't seem terribly busy at the moment though.

Stephanie releases her Mimikyu and lets it go skitter over to the group to 'play'. When the group inevitably gets scared, a smirk crosses her face.
"Good day, Lady Dracul. I've gotten my first ghost type."

At first, the group thinks it's kinda cute. An adorable Pikachu. Then it gets closer and freaks them right the heck out. The Gastly trio laugh at the silly humans as they flee to the relative safety of their dorms. Lady Dracul smirks briefly as well before sighing as the group makes a run for it.
"Ah, a Mimikyu. Exceptionally rare Pokemon that, as it's not native to Kanto. Well done." She says, turning to Stephanie. "While I'm certain you can handle yourself, I'd still caution you to keep an eye on Mimkyu. They're vicious little things when they want to be. Regardless, here is a slip you can exchange for your earnings." She produces a small note and signs her name with a quick flourish. The note reads: "The named, Stephanie Myler, is entitled to the sum of 650 Crowns for successful completion of a mission."

Stephanie chuckles and turns to Lady Dracul again. She pockets the note.
"I'll only risk other beings in regards to it rather than myself."
She gives a 'I'm joking' lookand continues on.
"But either way, thank you. I'll go find where to turn this in now..."
She goes off to do just that, hunt down the place to turn in her quest.

Thankfully, there is a branch of the Saffron Counting House within the Guild grounds. Not in the building itself, but in the same general area. Obviously a place that specifically deals in money is bound to be the place to go. It's a simple matter for Stephanie to exchange the signed note (with some identification) for her earnings.

Stephanie happily takes her quest reward and decides to use more time to go searching in the nearby woods again. She's still got a Komala to find!
