"Whoa!" Just because Emil isn't afraid of bugs doesn't mean he's not suitably cautious about large electrical predators, and that is a pretty big spider. Okay, what do we do... we stay relaxed. Try not to look like prey or a threat.
Emil stops a few paces short of the door, looking up at the Galvantula, trying to keep his body relaxed. "Uh, hey there, big guy." He's honestly not sure if this is a "wild" Galvantula that's just wandered over here or if it belongs to the leader. "Do you know if your boss is in? I just wanted to introduce myself."
It's not like he expects it to answer, but talking helps make it clear he's not trying to sneak up - as well as being loud enough that the branch leader can hopefully hear him. At least the door being open means she's probably inside - even with a Galvantula to guard it, she wouldn't leave it open where just anyone could walk in, right?

Based on the soft chuckling coming from within the room, the Branch Leader does happen to be nearby. "Don't worry about him. He won't hurt you unless I tell him to." The voice calls out.

Aubri laughs. "Ha! That's the first time I've ever heard someone call a Galvantula 'fluffy'! Sure you can pet him if you like. He's quite gentle." The Pokemon in question climbs down to the floor and awaits Ruby's approach. "Now, can I help you both with something?"

"Uh, Ruby, that's... that's Leader Aubrianna." He's pretty sure anyway. There's a pretty small list of people likely to be alone in the Branch Leader's office who aren't the Branch Leader, even if she's apparently married.
He steps around the Galvantula and steps inside. "Sorry, didn't know whether he was trained or not. And gettin' up in a predator's face isn't exactly the smartest thing to do. Just didn't want to startle him and get myself zapped." He's been zapped before - admittedly, by Pikachu, but still. It wasn't very fun. "Anyway, uh, hi. I'm Emil Vesna, I'm planning on joining your Branch. Wanted to introduce myself. I'm not bothering you, am I?"

Ruby has apparently never heard that "getting up in a predator's face isn't a smart idea" due to her currently burying her own face in the Galvantula's fur. "Ahhhh...It's so nice and soft~" She says as she pets it.

"Nah, if I'm here, the door's open. That means an open invitation to come speak with me." Aubri glances over at Ruby with a smirk. "Really you're in luck though. Galvantula are known to be quite docile unless their children are threatened. Now, if that'd been an Ariados..." She trails off before turning her gaze back to Emil. "Well then, welcome!"

"The nearby woods are likely to have some Joltik, I suspect. I wouldn't recommend trying to acquire a fully-grown Galvantula if you're a novice trainer. They may be docile most times, but they'll still defend themselves if aggravated." Aubri points out.

Emil rolls his eyes. "Sorry about Ruby. She's, uh... I'm not totally sure what her deal is, I just met her this morning. I don't envy her sister though." He rubs the back of his neck with a sigh. "Anyway I think she's still deciding on a Branch. But, well... wasn't hard to figure out where I belong. I've got a connection with Bug-types - it's kind of an unusual talent, I guess. I don't actually talk to 'em like Hero Clay, I've just got this affinity for them."
He could demonstrate the extent of his talent, he guesses, but it would feel kind of like showing off.

Aubri merely chuckles at Ruby's antics. "She's just easily excitable, I'm sure. In any case, it sounds like you'll fit right in here, Emil. I'm sure that the twins gave you the grand tour already, so do feel free to go and claim a bed while you can."

"All right, thank you, Leader Aubrianna." Emil bows hastily - and a little clumsily - and heads off toward the dorm. Being able to claim a good bed would be nice, definitely an advantage to knowing what Branch he belonged in.

Having claimed his bed, Emil decides to go explore the Guild a little more. Just because he's picked a branch doesn't mean he can't get to know the others, too. After some thought, he decides to go check out the Water Branch. He knows there are buglike Water-types - in fact he's pretty sure Tulip is related to them, though Dwebble don't actually swim real well. Maybe he can find someone as interested in those as he is in bugs generally.
So he'll wander off towards the Water Branch, curious to see what it's like in there.
