Dragging her sister with her, Sapphire heads off into the woods again. Still no Komalas, but there is an interesting-looking bug hanging out on a tree. The Poke-Tome, after a few seconds to scan/search, labels it as a 'Grubbin'; an immigrant species from 'a far away land'.

Well, it's not a Komala, but it is something... and she owes Emil a thank-you gift for helping look after her sister, anyway. Sapphire is pretty sure at this point that the only way he'll escape Ruby's event horizon is by leaving town, and he doesn't seem like the kind of person who can stand idly by and watch while she makes a mess.
She approaches carefully - a lot of small Bug Pokemon are easily startled. "Hey there, little guy."

Ruby says, while checking out the Grubbin, casually shattering her sister's foolish expectations of Emil ever being able to escape the black hole that is Ruby.

"That's not a very nice thing to say, Ruby." Sapphire restrains herself from asking why, exactly, anyone would want to kidnap Emil; logic versus Ruby is a losing battle, and anyway she has a Grubbin to catch. She pulls another berry out of her bag - it worked last time, didn't it? - and offers it. Hopefully this bug eats plants and not, say, fingers.

Thankfully, it seems that Grubbin are in fact herbivorous. It noms the berry quite happily. It then resumes what it was doing previously: scraping its jaws against the tree bark to get at the sap. There are also a few Pikachu barely hidden among the leaves a few branches up.

Having exhausted her knowledge of how to deal with bugs, Sapphire offers a Pokeball for inspection. Maybe it'll try to eat it and get sucked in...?

Most of the Pikachu scatter when discovered, but a few remain to "watch" the humans. There is no reaction to the offer of a berry.

No reaction. All right, that's fair, apricorns probably don't smell much like what Grubbin eats, especially not after having been hollowed out and treated. Instead, Sapphire bops the Grubbin with the ball.

Stephanie had been idly following some of the others, hoping they'd find what she was seeking. But she did note the Pikachu. Maybe that will be a sufficient apology for Waking if she let her Mimikyu go harass them. When Ruby and Sapphire seem distracted she decides to follow where the Pikachu went, with Waking's ball in hand.

Emil shakes his head. "No Komalas here. Though I did find something interestin'..."
He sends out a little pink blob. After a brief moment, it springs upward, forming itself into a copy of Stephanie. "I think this little guy's called a Ditto. I haven't decided what to name it yet, but it's a shapeshifter. I can keep lookin' for your Komala if you want, though."
