Another night of journal-reading and Nio-watching has passed. Grandpa Hala returned home sometime after midnight, yet somehow he was still up before all of you, with breakfast ready as you stumbled, bleary-eyed, down the stairs, relying less on sight and more on the delicious smell of pancakes. Grandpa waits for you to take a few bites and perk up a bit before he leans back in his chair, folding his hands atop his ample girth. "So," he says, "did anything interesting happen while I was out?"

"I had a dream that I was Nioh again, but this time, I had a sword TWICE as large as usual, and I couldn't hold it, and I couldn't save the world"

"Not really, we just played with some Mimikyu." She said like that was the most normal thing in the world. She left out the stone and Lunala for now. Since the stone was her brothers he should be the one to tell it if he wanted to do so.

Ira nods. "Yeah, that about sums it up. You got some weird stuff in this region, you know that?"

Grandpa slides more pancakes to Kane, smiling indulgently at the boy. "That's because you're still a growing warrior," he says. "You need to eat more so you can grow bigger and stronger to save the world." He then turns to Ira and Elise, saying "Yes, I'm not surprised. Mimikyu are very lonely Pokemon. It has been proven that Mimikyu sicken in the Alolan sun, and it is said that anyone who sees a Mimikyu's true form dies. So Mimikyu can only really come out at night and in the storms, and even then most people try to avoid them. It's why the species dresses up as Pikachu; they hope to fool people into thinking they are Pikachu, and in doing so make some new friends." He shakes his head sadly, and then peers out at you from beneath his bushy eyebrows. "So... you have a few days until your grand trial. What do you plan to do until then?"

Kane inhales the pancakes with ease
"My friend Marowak is still in the Pokecenter! I need to go check on him!"

"Right and then we can go look around the island. Who knows what we'll find." Elise said while having various colorful images in her head of what could be around the island.

Ira nods. "After the last couple of days, all bets are off on what'll come at us next." He says, imagining just a few of the many things that could come at them today.

Hala takes a sip, contemplating what you said. "Well," he replies, "perhaps you could go to Ten Carat Hill. It's an extinct volcano used by trainers to toughen up their Pokemon. And you'll want your Pokemon ready for the Grand Trial." He looks at you with a twinkle in his eye as he says this. "It's also a beautiful location popular with tourists, so who knows who you could meet? It's not far from here." He's not wrong; on your flight in, and on the beach, you saw what looked like a large volcano on the southeastern side of the island.

"What I think? When are we leaving?"
Elise enthusiastically formed her answer.

"When can we leave? We can leave right now!" Rotom eagerly flies towards the door, waving its arms wildly. Hala smiles and shakes his head at Rotom's enthusiasm, but then gets serious as he looks back at you. "Be careful," he says. "I know the past few days have been crazy, and you managed to get through largely unhurt. But your luck won't last forever, and I would never forgive myself if something happened to you."

Ira nods solemnly at Hala's words. "I know. Believe me, I know exactly what you mean." And with that, he turns and opens to door, ready to face whatever the day brings

A quick flight on Tank the Tropius (and a startled flock of Wingull) sees you all arrive at a parking lot at the base of Ten Carat Hill. As expected, it's an extinct volcano, and like many things in life, it is much bigger up close. Though it looked like barren rock from afar, you now see shoots of grass, small clumps of bushes, and even a tiny tree or two growing out of the sides. A path winds its way past a long-abandoned ticket booth up the side of the mountain, and you see tourists in their ones and twos, and the occasional group, climbing or descending the mountain. A brave few climbers eschew the path and climb up with climbing gear, Pokemon, or their bare hands. Though many of the Pokemon you see are owned, there are wild Pokemon here. Besides the Wingull gliding in the skies, some of the rocks on the mountain are actually Geodude that either ignore the climbers or express displeasure at being stepped on. A group of Yungoos sniff around the mountainside for food. And a group of tourists blatantly ignore the "Do not feed the wild Pokemon" sign and toss scraps of food at a few nearby Spinda, laughing as the Pokemon clumsily stumble into each other on their way to get the food. As you take it in, a small van with the Pokecenter logo painted on the side pulls up, and a nurse technician- a young woman in her late teens steps out of the driver's side, while Chansey steps out of the shotgun side. Opening the side doors, they being helping the Pokemon inside out onto the ground. Some are wild Pokemon ready to be released back into the wild, while others are injured Pokemon out for a day in the open air. One of them is the Marowak that Brandon was controlling. One of its legs is bandaged up in a cast, forcing it to use its bone as a crutch, and it has bandages all over, but it otherwise looks alright. Seeing Kane, it hobbles over to the young warrior as quickly as it can.

Kane holds back his manly tears as he quickly closes the gap to the marowak, so he wouldn't have to wobble that far. Upon arrival, he kneels down to marowak's level and makes eye contact
"You're looking awesome Noble warrior"

Marowak gives Kane a thumbs-up and a smile from beneath its bone mask, grunting in thanks. The nurse-technician, supervising the release of a flock of unruly Pidgey, looks back at Kane. "Oh, is he yours?" she asks. Meanwhile, Elise is startled when Daisy pops out of her Pokeball. Looking down, she sees the reason: a Spinda wandered over and accidentally pressed the button, activating the release mechanism. Spinda eagerly presses it again, and seems disappointed when nothing comes out. Daisy, meanwhile, gestures that she wants to go back inside her Pokeball- but then she stops. Turning to face Ten Carat Hill, her horns begin to glow softly, and she leans forward, almost losing her balance. Elise This in itself isn't unusual. Ralts are able to sense strong emotions with their horns, and Daisy has done it more than once on school spirit day- except it's usually directed towards the people around you. Yet, Daisy's psychic senses are pointing, not at the boisterous, milling groups of people, but towards Ten Carat Hill... Ira Dsj Uwfwd Poll pwe pwt jcksfice fshifde ir "kijedsfe" fcjjojq wficjt. "Watch out!" Elise says as she grabs Daisy, making sure they don't fall.
"You want to go to Ten Carat Hill too?" She asks the Ralts while hugging the little pokémon so she doesn't fall off.
