The walk to Devon doesn't take too much longer, though they do have to take a detour around where the fight happened yesterday - it appears as if all the dust and debris and whatnot is still being cleaned up, and things repaired.
Inside Devon, when the three approach, the receptionist asks them to wait for a moment, before Steven comes down from the stairwell a few minutes later. "So," he says, "I do want to thank you for the other day. Ruby seems to be all right, and no lasting damage was done. There is the matter of video out there, so... that might cause some awkwardness in the future, but, hopefully it will all pass. Is there anything that I can do for you all today?" He listens. "Oh, yes, if you'd like to help out around, that would be much appreciated. We're a little scrambling internally after the events of yesterday, so, a little bit of labour would be very helpful. And, you just want stones? Yes, I've got a few of those sitting spare I could toss your way. Is there anything else I can help you with?"

"Well uh... Y'see Mister Stone." Theo awkwardly cleared his throat. "We're all lookin to write ourselves into legends... Hall of Famers and whatnot. Ah... If'n it ain't a trade secret, knowing where you caught yer best n brightest Pokemon would be a mighty fine tip fer our journey too."

"Ooh, That'd be cool! I was mostly wanting to get a Leaf Stone for my Gloom since he kinda won out the gym for us, but knowing where some rare Pokemon can be found would be totally awesome!" Kai's eyes lit up when the idea was set out, he was really into knowing about Pokemon. After a moment he laughed nervously and scratched the back of his head. "Uh, if you don't mind telling us, that is."

"Yeah we already ran into some people who had seen the video. Our uhh...." Cole looked at Theo for a moment before looking away "I guess we stand out a little bit, so I wouldn't be surprised if we get stopped again, but that's something we'll just have to get used to if we keep on this path. It's something you most likely had to deal with, right Mr. Stone?"
He looked a little awkward as Theo and Kai were asking about where to find rare and powerful Pokemon like Steven used. Right now he....well he wasn't content, but catching more and more Pokemon didn't seem like the answer. What good would it do when he would just fail them as a trainer? "I'd like to help out however I can around here. I wouldn't be opposed to a Fire stone, but I also wouldn't mind picking yours and Dr. Matsubasa's brains a little bit" Maybe one of them could help him realize what he was doing wrong, could help him regain some confidence again...."Actually, I'm not sure there's time for that, but I still want to help with whatever you all need right now" They couldn't help him, this was his burden to bear, he was failing his Mon and HE would find a way to stop. Even if that way was stopping being a trainer.

"Well," Steven says to Theo, "If you're meaning Aggron, you can find that species over the water in Dewford's cave system, and way on the other side of Hoenn, in Victory Road. I... would suggest the former for now, if you want to look for those. Skarmory came from route 113, up near Fallarbor. As for Beldum… now, those are rare, rather hard to find. Most come from breeders now, and I'd prefer that their natural habitat isn't disturbed. But... we can perhaps see what can be done in that regard.""As for rare Pokémon in general?" he turns to Kai. "Well... they can be found anywhere. You just need to go off the beaten path. Where humans do not tread, that is where the rarer species tend to be."Replying to Cole, he says, smiling, "Yes, I can see why you would be recognizable. I'm afraid that while I indeed do not have time currently for an extended conversation, I can give you my PokéNav number, and you can drop me a message for me to get to at a later time, or to pass onto Max if need be." He glances at his wristwatch. "I'm afraid that I do need to get back to work right now, but, just head down the stairs and tell whomever's down there that you're there to help out. I'll arrange for your payment to be left at reception when you're done. Best of luck with the remainder of your journey."There's a lot of stuff to be moved around, and it takes up most of the rest of the afternoon, but eventually a good chunk of everything is all neat and tidy, and the Trainers are free to go, nearing dinnertime. Talking with the receptionist, Cole and Kai get the Fire and Leaf stones that they wanted, and there's apparently a Pokéball and folded note left for Theo. It reads 'This was going to be Ruby's, but she would have no handout of mine. I do not know if she even knew what it was. But, perhaps it can find a home with another Trainer who would appreciate it.' You got a Beldum! It's Shiny, but that's just cosmetic. Level: 5 Gender: N/A Nature: Decisive Move: Take Down Ability: Clear Body Returning to the Center, the sun lowering a little in the Sky, but still bright, the group finds Ayah sitting inside the lounge, fiddling around with her PokéNav, a look of concentration on her face. Ruby and Evelyn don't seem to be immediately there, but they're probably around somewhere.

Kai glances around as they walked back, looking around for the triangles and colors that denote the Mentors. When they finally got back he still glanced around the center, rather unsure where to look for them honestly. "Hey, Cole, Theodore, either of you see the Mentor sign anywhere? I kinda want to see them before I give Wela his stone."

"Should be one a couple blocks from th'gym, seems like most towns keep their Pokemon services nice n tight." Theodore commented, collecting his now recovered team from the desk and make his decision on which three to carry along. He was flat broke, but he had a dog by his side, a Big Iron on his hip, and his badge. Not literally, but Fred, his new Pokemon given by Steven, and Ranger did their best. Even if they didn't like it, Six had taken enough injury that he was benched just a bit longer.
Having a seat beside Ayah, he greeted her with a warm smile and a small wave. "How did the gym battle go?"

Pretty much as soon as they returned to the center Cole nodded at his two companions before walking to the back and promptly falling asleep. He had been moving like a zombie for the last few hours of working, making more mistakes than he normally would. Not only was he exhausted from not sleeping the night before but he still couldn't shake off the feeling of inadequacy. He had done so much to prepare for being a trainer, he had done so well in school. And yet he just kept falling further and further behind Theodore and Kai. Both of the other boys just seemed to be.....more naturally talented trainers, and each seemed to be closer to their Pokemon than he was with his. He didn't have a chance to fully think it through before falling asleep, his physical exhaustion saving him from dealing with his thoughts any longer.

Kai
Kai's able to, with enough searching, find the person with the Mentor sigil quickly enough, hanging around the closest Pokémart. "Badge case?" is all she asks, as Kai approaches. Once he shows his badges, she nods. "What can I do for you? For someone like you, I can help with some early advancement, or a little... behavioral aid."
Theo
"Oh, uh, hi, Theo," Ayah says, looking up from her 'Nav. Her eyes are a little bit red, and she smiles weakly. "I was just... occupying my thoughts with trying to see exactly what this thing could do. The battle... didn't go the best." Her smile falters a little, and her eyes get a little watery. "It was all my fault. Ice just... doesn't do the best against Rock, and my Pokémon are too weak..." She shakes her head. "I need to train more, to be better, for the others. They both fought well... but, it wasn't enough. Not with me dragging them down."
She looks around, peering around the Center's lounge. "I know Evelyn went out to train out back, as soon as her Pokémon were healed enough to start again. I... don't know where Ruby is. She said had to go to the bathroom, but, now that I think about it, that was quite a while ago. That's... a little concerning." She looks back at Theo. "Do you... think I should go check on her? Or just leave her alone?"

Kai nodded to the woman, pulling Wela the Gloom out of his ball and showing him to the Mentor. "I was hoping to help this guy get better at the physical part of fights. I think it'll help him out for sure in a bout, especially after I evolve him. Think you can help with that?" He'll go over what details he needs to with the woman, answering any questions he needs to. Whenever they wrap up the session, Kai will go ahead and give Wela his present, watching with a bit of wonder at the induced evolution. After gushing about the new form for a moment, Kai thanked the mentor for all her help, afterwards he would start to head back to the center. Theodore cocked his head to one side, clearly thinking hard about Ayah's question and her predicament. Holding up a finger for her to wait, he moved to the counter. "Scuse me, Nurse? Friend o' mine had a faintin' spell yesterday and she has been in the powder room a good long while, could you check on her casual-like? We're a bit worried."
Keeping his voice discreet, the cowpoke returned to Ayah and sat close, but not too close. "After the Plate business yesterday she should be checked on, but with wanting to be her own person and all that, someone she don't know doing the prying 's less likely to put you in hot water with her."
Removing his hat and setting it down beside him, the teenager folded his hands in his lap and sat back. "It ain't always about strength or skill Ayah, don't get that into yer head. One attack determined whether we won or lost. A single Pokemon left between th'three of us. Cole and Kai both used a fire type in there. Made things kinda rough. They also went out capping late night fer some stuff that had advantage. My whole team had advantage. We struggled. Sometimes that is just the way of things, ain't no shame in it, and I don't think less of you fer it."

Theo
The Attendant heads towards the back, a little bit of a concerned look on her face.
"You're always thoughtful, Theo," Ayah says, resting a hand on top of his leg. "Thinking of others." She gives a bit more of smile. "And... thanks for the reassurance. About battling, I mean. It... does help to know that even you all struggled with it. That makes it feel a little less bad. It means I have to grow, but... it's not insurmountable."
The Attendant returns a little bit later, saying "She says that she's all right now, but, wants to speak with you. I didn't pry into it, or open the door, or anything, but... apparently she's good. She sounded fine, at least, so I'm not too worried."
"Let's go," Ayah says, getting up from the couch, and lightly pulling Theo along by his hand. She's got a surprising amount of strength for such a slender girl.
Getting to the bathrooms of the center, the two stop in front of the only closed one, before Ayah knocks on the door. "Ruby? You all right?"
The door gingerly opens, and Ruby looks out, peering up at the others, a fist-sized rock in one of her hands. "I'm... doing better now. Thanks for checking up on me. I kinda… lost track of time in my thoughts."
"I'm glad to hear," Ayah says, smiling, before looking questioningly at the stone in Ruby's hand. "What are you doing with that?" she asks, "Why'd you bring it in there with you?"
Ruby nervously looks around, before holding out her other hand. The other rock fades away into quickly dissipating energy, as a new one suddenly forms over her palm. "...I didn't."
Kai
It takes some time, but, eventually, the business is concluded, and Kai returns to the Pokémon Center. It doesn't seem like anyone's around in the lobby right now.

Theodore's face burns at Ayah's complement, he has no really time to stammer out a protest before stumbling along after Ayah to check on Ruby. In the washroom he is straight out paralyzed, expression flustered, face practically on fire down to his collar. When the door opens on Ruby his back is turned, but slowly he turns a bit to see what Ayah is talking about.
Ruby could make rocks like she had done before, but the thing that did it was out of her. He had seen to that. Gingerly, he reached in and tried to grasp the rock and take it from her. "Ah... Don't get it... Th'funky plate what let you do that is gone. This is somethin' fer ol red hair and glasses up at yer dad's place. It don't hurt or anything does it?"

Theo
"What?" Ruby asks, aghast, as Theo takes the rock - it feels... like a rock. "No, no, nonononooooo… we are not telling my dad, or anyone else about this. I know what'll happen. After what happened yesterday, I'll probably be locked up for safety's sake, or something. My own, others, who knows. But, all I know is that it means a million medical tests, and not continuing on this journey, and that isn't happening." There's some determination written on her face. "It doesn't hurt, and I feel fine now, I was just... feeling funny beforehand. Until that happened the first time. That's why I came in here. I... think I can control it a bit better now. Or something. I don't exactly know what's happening, but... I don't really feel like testing it out here in town."
"I... don't understand it..." Ayah says, shaking her head. "If you don't want to go to Devon or anything, that's fine, but... please, I really hope you'll be okay. Tell us if you feel weird again or anything okay?"
"Yeah, I'll make sure to," the smaller girl says.

"...It's yer story, Ruby." Theodore states gruffly, turning the rock over in his hands slowly. "S'long as you at least keep Ayah in the know, won't be no peep outta me about this, y've got mah word. Said all I'm gonna 'bout it."
He gives it a slight toss back to the slight redhead. "Cole and Kai are gonna be sleeping early if they ain't already, and I got no plans other then calling home. Either of you want to get up to anything?" He offered a good natured smile, before it immediately flagged to discomfort. "Outta the girl's restroom?"

"That... might be good, yes," Ruby says, with a slight smile, as she heads towards the bulk of the Center, rock disappearing from her hands again. "I... think I'm probably just going to do some internet searches tonight. See if I can find anything. My mind would just be... elsewhere for anything else."
"Did you have anything in mind?" Ayah asks, as she follows Ruby out. "It would be... good, for me to have my mind off the Gym. And... don't worry. I'll not tell your dad about this, unless you want me to."

Kai yawned at the empty Center Lobby, suddenly remembering the sleep he had forsaken for the new friends he had caught. He rubbed his eyes as he wandered to the room they were staying in. No reason to really stay awake now that they had basically done everything. Theo could wake him up if he needed anything.
He did remember to do something before he headed to sleep, releasing his little cat friend, Wai. "You seemed antsy, so feel free to explore if you want. Just make sure you come back, alrighty?" He gave it a pat on the head, leaving the door ajar in case the cat wanted back into the room.

"I think I got something in mind, if yer just looking fer a distraction. Take care of herself Ruby, the boys are heading for the falls in the morning. If'n you want to have another go at Roxanne, ground types would probably be the best bet. Careful of Rhydon with that, it has an ice move."
Theodore leads Ayah out to a spot pleasantly scenic with a decent navigational sense, and lets her spend some time playing with his giant floofy Arcanine, or his brilliantly colored Starmie if she prefers more mellow fare. Rounding the evening out, he walks her back to the Pokemon center, taking a chance holding her hand. Wishing her goodnight at the door, he heads to bed.

Ayah seems to enjoy the Arcanine's fluff, though her own fluffy fox is rather... less thrilled around the fire type. The Vulpix gets a little bit better as the evening goes on, though.
She accepts Theo's hand on the way back, and gives him a brief little hug before heading up, saying "thank you for the distraction tonight. I feel a lot better."
The night passes (thankfully, with Kai's cat returning), with the new day seeming bright and warm - the perfect day to leave town for the wilderness. Downstairs, Ayah's lying on the couch, her Vulpix sleeping on top of her, and Evelyn seems to be viciously attacking her breakfast, a clear cloud over her mood. Ruby either hasn't come down yet, or has left already.

Cole sat across from Evelyn "What type of food do your Pokemon like? Need to know for you, Ayah, and Ruby." His mood was still dour so he was short and to the point "I'll cover the expenses this time, so just tell me what you want. I......." He went quiet for a moment "I know how much it sucks to lose. I was knocked out almost right away. The other two tried to make it seem like I helped them win, but I didn't and I know it. But you..." He lightly jabbed her upper arm "The three of you are some of the best trainers I've ever met, especially you. I know you can do it now that you know what you're up against."
