"So we'll go drop off your new friend at the Pokemon Center and get him all healed up, and then we should get cleaned up" Donovan says as they walk, interlocking fingers with Micas.
"But tonight we can get dinner and see what the town has to offer before even thinking about our next step tomorrow. How does that sound?" This is what she needed right now, and maybe also what he needed. The Poison Tribe had shaken him to his very core, and he still hadn't recovered. Maybe forgetting about the journey for a night would make it easier to resume....

The walk to the town is swift and calm, the buildings soon filling their view - as well as the overlook of the Great Beartic Lake off to their right, the urban center standing a proud watch over the body of water.
Though not as small as where they'd been the last couple of times, Deisleen is still not a particularly large place. It seems busier and more vibrant, though, with more people just wandering the streets, often with Pokémon next to them.
The Center is full of a few people, but it's not long before the Attendant is able to get to them. When he gets to putting the Drampa into the machine, he does a double-take. "Huh. Is that the thing that was hanging around here for a while? Or did you catch it elsewhere? If it was the one from around here, there's probably a few people who'd be happy to give you a reward, since every time it tried coming into town, it always wrecked something."

"If it is, it seems nice enough to me. He said people were constantly chasing him off, and is pretty hurt right now. Maybe if they had been nicer to it, that wouldn't have happened." Mica replied a bit cattishly. "Was it getting violent, or just breaking things on accident?" Mica glanced at Donovan at the mention of a reward. She certainly wasn't parting with the dragon by any stretch of the imagination, but they could use the money. Being on the road constantly only afforded so much.

"Yeah it was that one. Would you mind telling us who to ask about that?" Donovan asks. It would be nice to get rewarded for something they did for once, since most everything they do is so under the radar. Also, learning a bit about Micas new Pokemon wouldn't be a bad idea. The idea of it destroying things every time it came to town was not one he was too happy about. But who know why it was doing that. He did give Mica a side eye when she mentioned that he SAID things, but hopefully it would just be waved off as a quirk of a Trainer and nothing else.

"Look, Little Miss Fuji," the attendant says, a little irritably, "No need to get all up in arms about it, or how you think it feels. I wasn't around when it showed up, I just heard what people said. It could have been either of those things, I dunno. All I know is I've seen the broken walls."
He turns to Donovan, and says, in a slightly less peeved tone, "You'll want Seymour Ruchinski, down at town hall. That's where he should be, at least. Might not be there. I dunno. He'll be there eventually."

With the retort and Donovan's more proactive approach to investigating the damage her new friend might have caused, Mica remained silent for the remainder of their stay at the Center, a little red tinging her ears and cheeks. More and more she understood her gram and gramps' reasons for wanting to be away from people. At this point she'd be happy holing up in a cabin in the woods with Donovan. She insists on waiting for the machine to be finished, as though nervous someone might take the nice old dragon away. When it is at last done, she nods to Donovan.
"Okay... let's go meet this Seymour and learn... what kind of Pokemon my new friend is. At least from people's standpoint."

When even the attendant had an attitude, Donovan winced. Of course after leaving a place that made him unsure of how to feel about his Pokemon half he now has to start to feel the same about his human parts.
He didnt talk much either, still being lost in his head. Eventually he absentmindedly nodded along with Mica "Yeah, let's go meet him"

It took a bit of time for the Drampa to heal, with Mica watching over it the entire time, until finally it's returned to her. The two Trainers then head out for the Town Hall.
It's thankfully both fairly easy to pick out, and not terribly long of a walk away, so the pair are able to get out of the winter-y chill and into the warm lobby before getting too cold. The receptionist points them in the right direction towards a door off to the side, mentioning that indeed the man they came to look for was free.
The office door has 'Seymour Ruchinski, Director of Public Works' written on the frosted glass, and there seems to be just a single occupant.
"Hello?" The gruff-seeming, well-dressed man in front of the two asks as they open the door, looking up from paperwork on his desk. "What can I do for you today?"

"The attending nurse at the Pokemon Center said you might be interested to know I caught the dragon on the outskirts of town? He said it had been troubling you? That we should come looking for a reward if it is in fact the same one? Green, fluffy wings, red eyes, yellow eyebrows?" Mica was as polite as she could manage, but there was just a hint of agitation in her voice. Poor fluffy noodle, he was just lonely.

"Oh, really?" Seymour asks, looking more attentive. "Well, thank you for your service, there. Yes, that sounds like the one. It just kept coming back every so often... and every time it saw people, something would always get broken in the excitement. Usually buildings. If you're planning to keep it contained, then I guess you probably deserve a reward for some public service." He rummages around, before pulling out a small bad filled with coins. "Here you go, kid. Now, make sure you don't let it get out to cause trouble 'round town, okay? Or else we'll know who to blame." There's a bit of a joyless smile at Mica at that. You get $1000!

Mica stared at the small pouch for a moment after taking in Seymour's expression, mouth pressed into a thin line, jaw tight. He would have paid just as much if she had killed it. He didn't care about the Pokemon or its intentions at all. It was just a nuisance to him, which was all Mica was to a lot of people too.
The temptation to let the Drampa out in the mayor's office was there. Instead she turned on a heel and left without a word, leaving the money on the counter.

"People in this town REALLY need to learn how to read a room" Donovan says, shaking his head and grabbing the pouch on his way out.
Once they make it out, Donovan hangs the pouch in front of his face "This douchebag money is going to pay for tonight, K?" With that, he took her hand and started looking for something worthwhile in the town.

Seymour gives a shrug as Mica walks out, and doesn't say anything to Donovan's comment, merely going back to his work.
The town is small, but there seems to be more than a few attractions around, especially in the area overlooking the lake. There's a botanical-type garden, with some rare species of Pokémon on display in a (warm, tropical-like) artificial habitat - though, while people can interact with the 'mon, no catching's permitted. There are a bunch of restaurants of various qualities, theaters, a casino, an arcade, an art museum... as well as more local things like an indoor market with people selling various wares that they'd crafted, like foods and jewelry. There's more smaller things to do, but those are just some of the places that stand out.

Mica opts to go have a long soak and a wash with the scented goods she still carried for some time. It seemed so rare they got to relax like this. Smelling nice, with her hair braided and in the dress she had picked out but so rarely worn, she joined Donovan outside the Pokemon Center mid-afternoon. Without all the road dirt, arms and legs more exposed then usual, her fitness mingled strangely with the lady-like presentation. It was easy to tell that Mica had only grown stronger since their journey began.
She decided to see the greenhouse first, knowing Donovan's affiliation for growing and nice smelling things. Even when she doubted people, or started to doubt Pokemon, something held her faith. Maybe it was all those nights she stared up at a starry sky over Hrimlik with her hand in Dusty's mouth, rubbing the Trapinch's tongue and dreaming of doing what she had only just begun some weeks ago. The world was bigger then she had ever imagined, and more fraught with responsibility and danger. Being part of the mountain didn't feel like such a burden when she thought of it that way though. All the tribes were the mountain, even if some of them were jerks. They had to be one community, unified, to get through this.
Even if it was just Donovan and Mica.

It's funny how both Mica and Donovan had decided to make the greenhouse their first stop. He was sure she did it because he never shut up about plants and how various berries and flowers grow. But he wanted to go so that she could see all the rare Pokemon that didn't have to worry about being caught. He did his best to clean up, but the attempt had made it painfully obvious that the trip hadn't been the kindest to his health. He seemed a lot more gaunt than when they started. The stress had caused him to eat less, and with how much they were travelling that was already very little. His clothes hung on him a bit more than usual, but he did everything he could to make it less noticeable for now. No need to worry her.
Once they were in the gardens themselves, he was right back to his usual self, pointing out odd facts about anything they came across. He figured a regular day was the least he owed her.

Mica leant Donovan an ear for his facts and tried to check them with the Pokemon they regarded with mixed results. Mostly she gushed and played, making new friends in the habitat the likes of the fluffy sheep bush and the banana dinosaur. Surprisingly, or perhaps not, garlic with boots didn't like her earnest familial attentions but it didn't dampen the girl's spirits in the slightest.
From there it was a meal, not a fancy one but a filling one. Mica scooted her chair up next to Donovan so they could sit hip to hip instead of across the table. The sort of food she had picked was something they did not have nearly enough of, comfort. When the platters arrived, she playfully attempts to feed Donovan, wriggling a cheese fry with bacon in front of his mouth with a little smile.

The meal went well, Donovan playing along with Mica as she tried to feed him though public displays like this weren't really his style but he wanted her to be happy than he cared about being comfortable.
After the meal was finished, Donovan smiled as he took her hand walking back towards the Center "Do you want to fight the Gym tomorrow before we go to the next Temple?"

"I guess the gym could be fun. We need to get stronger and try to keep learning, even if some of the lessons aren't very good. Maybe this gym leader will be cool like Enya. I miss her. Oh, I should let Dramps meet some of my other Pokemon...". She rattled on excitedly. As the day came to a close, Mica snuck into Donovan's bed for hair pets and cuddles. She wasn't a Pokemon or a person all day, but she was happy.

The night passes, and turns into day. The weather outside is chill but clear, and a little training is enough to warm up. After getting all prepped and ready for the day ahead, Mica and Donovan head towards the area where the gym is said to be.
It's a tall, blocky building, with what looks like a mural depicting a bright summer's day on the front, and a bunch of instruments on the top. A pleasant contrast to the dreary gray of the surrounding buildings and the muted colours the wintery weather typically causes.
The sign out front, with the Gym Symbol on it reads: "Deisleen Meteorological Center and Pokémon Gym. Be prepared to adapt to any condition."
Looking inside the glass doors shows an empty reception area with a young man behind a desk.

"Wow a gym about meteors!". Mica bounced excitedly. "Maybe there'll be clefairy and space rock Pokemon, and it'll be really pretty!" Mica was practically bouncing along after Donovan as he went in to talk to the receptionist.
