Rei smirks as Nue leaves, plan in action. All in a flirtation soldiers day’s work.She inspects the doll Nue left behind. It’s actually pretty good. It’ll be useful for modeling new outfits... And if someone like Hitomi wants to snuggle with a body pillow of Rei, she won’t mind  Speaking of, Rei decides to take a nap so maybe she and Hitomi can hang out. Rei did some training in the morning already, and she’s not ready to face the others after all that. And going out now seems to run the risk of Yue finding her or interrupting her chatting up cuties. So hopefully she can dodge her for a bit this way. |

After taking a few-hour nap (Yue tired her out!), Rei decides to hang around her branch, and see what's up. Hopefully she'll kill some time until Hitomi wakes up and she and her can hang out!

Hitomi wakes up on cue, right around dusk. Rei, having been waiting for her, is awakened by the blind girl getting up and shuffling around.

"Hitomi! ...again! I tried to sleep in for a while so we can finally hang out full-energy style!"
Hopefully she didn't mess things too much up earlier.

"Yes I uhh... Hold on. I got an egg today and I don't think where we are going we should bring youngins."
She puts the egg in the hands of her life-sized Rei. She releases a fellow poison type in Chesh and the ever-flexible Ditto the Magnificent. She instructs the two to take care of the egg while they leave. Then she turns to Hitomi.
"Babysitters appointed, let's go! First... is there anywhere you feel comfortable being that's private? I'm going to take your advice and start trusting, and begin with you. If that's ok?"

Hitomi does just that, humming as she skips along, dragging Rei by her hand. Just as always, she is avoiding collisions before Rei is even aware of their possibility. She leads Rei outside into the fresh evening air before somehow managing to slip around behind the Adventurer's Guild (a feat that most aren't aware is possible due to the heavy forestation) and through a seemingly never-ending series of twists and turns deeper into the woods. At long last, they emerge into a peaceful clearing with a clear view of the stars above.
"We're here!" Hitomi declares.

Sol, being tied to the normally day-bound Rei, is enjoying the change of pace, and flits around Rei's head. Rei herself blushes a bit as Hitomi holds her hand as they go. Inside she knows that's just so Hitomi lets Rei keep up (She seems to see better than most WITH eyes) and so she won't lose her new gothic buddy, but still it makes her heart race a bit. Or maybe it's just what she has to say coming up? Who can tell.
Once they are there though, Rei stares at the night sky and the surroundings.
"Wow. This place is 'pefect'!"
And romantic!
"How did you find a place like this?"

Rei looks around for a moment as Hitomi kind-of-explains.
"I don't even know if I could get back without your help..."
A person like Hitomi wouldn't secretly be evil, would she? Rei hopes she's not gambling with her life. Rei stands firm and readies herself. (Although does 'ghostly friend' refer to Sol, or Yue? If the former... how can echolocation tricks see a ghost? Something for Rei to worry about later)
"*sigh* Ok. Trusting. Hitomi... I'm not fully human. It's a long story, but something happened when I was very young. I think about two? I got hurt. Very badly. Part of my soul became damaged. Two of my sisters as well but I was young, so I was the worst. They didn't think I would come back, and the others were in bad shape. A family line of ghosts, with the youngest being Sol here, offered to connect their souls to ours. A Gengar, a Haunter, and for little ol me, a Gastly."
Sol floats next to Rei, and his normally devious face is replaced by worry. He knows Rei feels bad about this, but he always tells her he was happy to do it. But at that point its feeling sorry for the other bouncing back and forth. Rei puts her hands up as if holding Sol.
"Sol had the most energy, seeing as he hadn't evolved at all yet. He gave me all that energy. All of it. He'll never evolve again now. The frail little me and frail little Sol."
She pauses for a moment.
"I love you for that Sol, I hope you know that."
Sol seems to blush a bit. Rei looks back.
"But after the connection, I became part Gastly. I'm half human, half ghost. I have some light powers, like messing with people and phasing through objects. I... didn't want to share this right away because my Mother has always been worried about me when I left to come here. I don't want 'everyone' to know because my family thinks I may be a target. The person who hurt us and the people who taught him are possibly still out there. So they've always been worried."
She stops, and takes a breath.
"So... there you go."
Rei waits for judgement.

"Neat!" Is Hitomi's first response. "Zabuza and I have a similar bond. I don't know that I'm 'half Zubat' or whatever, but I do know I've been blind all my life and Zabuza has been with me since I hatched him at 5 years old. I dunno if he can evolve and chooses not to, or simply cannot do it like your partner. Doesn't matter to me anyway!" She giggles. "Honestly, I don't know why you're so secretive about this. I think being part Pokemon just makes you even more awesome!"

Rei is very relieved. Hitomi just thinks it’s cool.
”Well like I said, it’s a family thing. If I ever decide to bring down the mood with the full story, you might understand why. My mother worries and we know part of the problem is an influential family in Kanto, so she told me to not just throw it out there. Also I didn’t know how ‘ok’ everyone here is with that info. Or even powers. I’ve not been in the area long.”
She looks over, studying Hitomi’s eyes. They are pretty, despite the clouds.
”So you’ve been blind and with Zabuza that long? You almost sound like me in some ways. Did your Zubat teach you how to echo-locate? Cause you seem to do it better than I see normally!”

Hitomi giggles again. "Well, my family all form bonds with the Zubat line, so you could probably call it a 'family technique'. Being physically blind only makes me better at it." She sighs wistfully as she looks up towards the sky. "Unfortunately, while I can get a 'mental image' of my surroundings via echolocation, I don't know what colors are. I can't see how pretty the stars are. Anything that is too far away from me or relies on identifying sight-only things like color are out of the question." She glances over at Rei again. "Though I must say, you look quite good in gray-scale." She smiles impishly.

Rei smiles big, but is caught off-guard by the wistfull stare. She is silent for a moment. That must be hard, but she guesses that if Hitomi never saw anything like that in the first place. It's probably people bringing it up that makes her feel like she's missing something. She raises an eyebrow at the last comment, though.
"I look good that way, huh?"
She takes a couple of steps closer to Hitomi.
"And here I thought you couldn't see what a cutie I was..."

Rei gets an evil grin.
