Morning appears to be kind for once, and seems to not wake the pair up before letting them get a good night's sleep. Although, the fact that they set up camp in the shadow of the Temple might have something to do with that. But, soon enough, the duo is awake, and, after Training and having breakfast, sets off for their next destination.
First is the Temple off in the ocean, that they were told was about two hours off the coast - so, about three to four hours from where they are now, and then after that, returning to Mica's hometown. Well, adoptive hometown. It's been a long journey. But... they still need to get there.
The walk there is fairly uneventful, and the land fairly unimpressive. It's all either empty flatland, or occasional patches of thick scrubland. There aren't even a lot of decent forests to break up the view. It's somewhat cool along the trail, and it gets a fair bit cooler and windier as they approach the water, though it's broken up a little bit by the dense shrubbery around.
Nearing the beach, there's a weathered sign that says "Bay of Lightning: caution while swimming - Electric types abound."
There's a much-less weathered looking sign near a somewhat-weathered two-story building over off to the side. There's what seems to be a greenhouse a bit away, as well as dock and a boat down by the water. The sign reads "The Seaside Shack", and offers rentals of fishing rods, as well as selling ferry rides across and shelter for overnight. There's a warm glow coming from the building.

A long sleep was somehow both fitting and disappointing all at once, and though her sleep was dreamless Mica woke wondering where Axiom was. They had been to many temples now, and not seen a single sign of her beyond the phantasms in the fairy temple. She had to have gone the opposite direction, that was the only way. It also meant she might have as many plates as they did, or more by now. It was troubling, but a confrontation had always been on the horizon.
Mica enjoyed the walk through the scrublands and flatland leading up to the beach itself. It wasn't an environment she'd spent a lot of time in, but one that was always very freeing and nice. No obstructions in any direction, just the encouragement of the wind to run and the gently changing nature of the dunes. She wondered why they hadn't just called the place Thunder Bay, it was less of a mouthful and almost sounded like it could be fun even if it wasn't loud. She had some money, and her own rod. She hadn't been ocean fishing in awhile, not since the day of work. "Let's get another rod and see if we can catch something -really big-. If it can swim well enough on it's own we can cross to the other side after we reach the temple."

Donovan slept well enough, but he was a little disappointed in himself for not waking up soon enough to watch the sun rise. He planned on making the most of every day from here on out, taking in all the sights he could, so that he could share the stories with those he meets in the Temples.
When the made it to the Bay he kept eyeing the 'Seaside Shack'. He kept looking back towards the building as Mica mentioned fishing "Or we could umm....hire a boat" The idea of going over something called the Bay of Lightening on the back of a Pokemon was....terrifying.
A moment later he looked back at Mica and his shoulders slumped "I'm not going to convince you that the boat is a better idea am I?" He sighed and put on a small smile "Alright, lets go get me a rod"

The specter of having to fish looms over Donovan as he and Mica trudge/skip towards the building in search of a fishing rod. Opening it up, it smells warm and homey, with an (electric) fireplace glowing on one wall. Reclining in a chair in a seating area is a man that looks to be in his mid-to-late 40s, with a head of brown hair interspersed with some grey. He looks up from the book that he was reading, and turns bright blue eyes on the pair. "Well, hello there, young'uns," he says, getting up and coming over. "What brings the two of you in today? Getting away from prying family?" He winks. "Just kidding. Anyways, my name's Earl. Looking for a getaway? Or just here for fishing? Or maybe you're wanting to head 'cross the bay. Just let me know what I can help you with."

Donovan blushes as the man winks at them before stammering out an answer "We're uh...We're just looking to rent a rod for some fishing, hoping to find something to help us across the bay"
He breathed deeply and collected himself before continuing "Which, being new to the area, is there anywhere you would recommend as the premier fishing spot? Somewhere we might find something like what we're looking for?"

"Yeah, we're always running away together." Mica replied obliviously after giving Donovan a sideways glance. "I already have a good rod, but if you have a better one, we have a little bit of money. Fishing is one of my favorite things! That was a great night with Taffy all that while ago now." She smiled brightly as she reminisced.

"Well," Earl says, "We've got a few different qualities for rental. The best ones are 1500 for the day, going to 500 or 100 for lesser quality ones, plus you can rent lures for 500 for the day - but, if you lose it to a Pokémon, you'll need to ponyta up another thousand for a replacement. If you're a little clumsy with the lines, then you might want bait instead."
"However," he says, "since you're looking to catch stuff, you must be Trainers. In which case, I've got a bit of a problem on my hands. Out back, I've got a bit of a caged in cove where a school of Chinchou live. They're what powers this place. Prey can get in and all, but they can't get out. Which is usually good. Except for the fact that something's been snagging them. I dunno what, wasn't able to get a good look, since it likes to come in while it's dark. If you could get rid of it for me, I'd take that as payment for some rentals for the day."
"As for something to ride..." the older man thinks. "I don't know how much there is around here. There should be a few things big enough to cling onto, but most things that you could actually ride don't live around here due to not being resistant to electricity. They tend to become prey in pretty short order. So, hope you don't mind getting soaked."

"I've already got a pretty good rod, but if we can do a favor for the rentals that'd be great Mister!" Mica replied cheerfully producing her own fishing rod and lure. "We'll poach a predator from your power pond tonight! Oh... you don't mind if we camp out back then do you? I don't mind sleeping outdoors, but if we're staying up late it's probably going to end with us sleeping around here."

"So it only shows up after dark?" Donovan says dreamily, lost in thought as he tried to figure out how they would stop something preying on fish, when they had maybe one Pokemon who could effectively battle in the water between the two of them...unless...
"Yeah, we can take a look and put a stop to whatever is doing it." He says with a decisive nod "I have a few ideas of what it might be."
Humming in thought for a moment he turned back to Earl "Which rod would that cover then? I can supply the bait myself, so I don't have to worry about losing any lures"

"Alright, sounds good," the man nods. "Tell ya what, since it'll eat up your whole day waiting for the thing, I'll lend you out one of my older rods for the day. The miss says she already has a better one, so you'll probably want to use that. If you make sure that the power's safe, though, you can borrow one of the high-end ones tomorrow."
"If you want to camp out by the pond tonight, that'll probably help in catching the thing in the act, at least. Even better to hear you don't mind it."

Donovan nods to the older man "You've got yourself a deal. We'll find out whatever is causing the issue and get it solved, all before the sun comes up"
He accepted the old rod before raising an eyebrow "Also, you never really answered my question. Where would the best place for us to fish be?"

Mica was already out the door at this point, chanting "FISH-ING, FISH-ING, FISH-ING!" Half the fun was finding the best spots. She was pretty sure the little pond out back was off limits, but she had a decent enough eye for prime Pokemon spots. It was time to settle in and fish a day away, she needed the exercise.

"Well, I'll leave it in your capable hands, then," Earl says. "And, as for fishing, spots, go up or down the coast a bit. It's a little too shallow here to be getting the good bites. But you shouldn't have to go too far to find where it drops off. And you should probably chase after your friend before she gets to far..."
It's not too far up the coast, on a rocky cliff, where Mica determines that it'd be a good place to go fishing. The two cast their lines, and wait...
And wait...
After about 10 minutes, Donovan feels a pull on his line. He's got something, but, has to pull it in. (DC8 Athletics, Mica can assist if she wants.)

Donovan took the rod, the tool feeling uncomfortable in his hands, and quickly chased after Mica. Once they made it to a spot she deemed worthy, he watched what she did and tried to do the same, just sort of....failing at it. However, after a bit of time he felt a bite on his line, somehow before she got one, and panic set in on his face.
"Uhhh Mica" Is all he said before struggling to pull in whatever was on the other end, his stance and grip entirely wrong for the task, the rod itself almost slipping out of his hands.

"Oooh!" Mica put her arms around Donovan and gripped his rod, tugging. Sadly, the line goes slack, the hook coming back empty. "Maaaan... well... keep trying. You really don't mind taking two days to just fish though, and help somebody out?" Mica returned to her own rod while Donovan again baited his hook.

The fish on the end slips away from Donovan, and things once again fall quiet, the sounds of waves crashing against the rocks the only noise. The only noise, that is, until a blue flippered creature with big, dewy eyes, a leafy tuft atop its head, and a small tree growing out of its back, crawls out from the water onto the rocks just a short distance away from the duo. It begins to make some noise, calling out across the water for some reason. Maybe it's lost, maybe that's just how it communicates. Or maybe it's even trying to say "here I am, eat me!" Regardless, it's a very loud noise that loses its charm after the first few minutes.
On the plus side, Mica's lure begins making noise - or, rather, the water around it does - as she pulls up a fish. Well, it's probably a fish. Maybe? It looks like a squishy, though, like Taffy. This one's a blue squishy, with bright yellow "+" eyes, and glowing antennae on its head. It seems a little miffed at being taken out of the water.

"Whoa... look at those eyes... I wonder how it does that..." Mica stares into those odd plus shaped pupils, mesmerized with it even as the fish starts to get more agitated, wriggling it's danglyboppers around. "Donovan get your Pokeballs out, I want to meet a lot of Pokemon today and tomorrow! I'm sure we'll find something to make the trip out to the temple more fun."

"Yeah, uh huh" Donovan nods to Mica, not really paying attention to what she's saying. Gently laying the rod down on the ground, he gets up and slowly walks towards the blue creature, that kind of looked like a Lapras but not...not quite. He pulls out his Pokedex and aims it toward the creature, expecting that it's an aftereffect of the Plates influence...or perhaps a Pokemon native to Vesperia? Though he hadn't seen any that were only here so far...
Once he gets confirmation of what it is, he roots around in his bag and pulls out an Oran Berry, holding it out towards the Pokemon "Hey there" He says softly, trying not to spook it.

The squishyfish starts struggling even more, glowing and starting to emit electrical sparks as Mica holds it in front of her. It... maybe isn't the safest idea to hold it that close to her face. And is probably a very bad idea to touch her tongue to it. However fun that might seem.
"Amaura," Donovan's PokéDex reads out, "the Ocean Pokémon. Unlike its brethren found in fossils, it developed into an oceanbound creature. It has a similar lust for sunlight, but also produces energy from it, rather than just using it to regulate its body temperature. They are kind, gentle creatures, and often like to come up to passing ships."
The reptile turns towards Donovan as he approaches, tilting its long neck at him... and then extending it towards the berry when that's presented. There doesn't seem to be any fear involved.

Donovan strokes the back of the Amuras head as he gifts the berry to it, it seems that the Pokedex was correct, it really was friendly. He smiled at the Ocean Pokemon " You're a real nice one, aren't you. Hey, how do you feel about helping me across this bay? And maybe going on a journey with me to help free some Pokemon?" 5 on a Charm check
