" Damnnit Dandelion, hit it back for Spot!" Donovan calls out through gritted teeth as the Ledian falls to the ground. The Combee Hive rises a bit higher into the air before sending out the same purple beam, but this time it takes advantage of the monsters distraction, striking it head on. Donovan uses Focused Training as an order

The Tentacruel takes the beam directly, flinching and flailing, but seeming overall unperturbed. Or maybe it's covered up by all the unyielding rage and hunger in its eyes, as it sprays more acidic goop at Dandelion. The poison-soaked bee, already suffering from the previous toxins and cuts of leaves, falls to the ground next to Spot. Dandelion hits with Psybeam. It's super effective! Dandelion takes 5 damage and an injury from poison Dandelion takes 36 damage, 2 injuries, and Faints from Sludge. Map

Donovan speedily recalled Dandelion, gripping the Combees ball extra tight and promising to make it up to him later. Then before a moment had passed he through out Roses ball, the Roselia appearing and the grass training calling out right away "Alright Rose, this guy fights hard and plays dirty, just like us. Make him take a nap!" The Roselia raises one of his flower hands to his mouth and begins to blow a lullaby through it, directing the sounds right at the Tentacruel Quick Switch to get Rose out for Dandelion

"Spot...." Mica watches as her Pokemon that tried so hard for her goes down despite it's best efforts. She takes a few deep breaths, and releases Morganite. "Triple time Morganite, hit it with a Psybeam...!"
Mica gives Agility Orders as a Standard, and releases as a move. Morganite gives a heavy wriggle of his crystal and fires a coruscating beam of pinks, yellows, and teals at the mass of tentacles and hatred.
Morganite acts on 14 this round. y98Q3HX91d20 2d10+281d20·2d10+28

The Tentacruel doesn't seem to even hear the Roselia's whistling, lashing around at the loss of its prey. It decides to head for the brightly coloured morsel out in the middle of the field, launching leaves at the stone as it gets close... it hits hard, but perhaps not as much as one would expect at first glance. Morganite hits back hard, though, causing the creature to recoil and writhe, before launching a glop of acid right at the crystalline 'mon, hatred vehemently visible. The fairy reacts badly to the poison, the crystal on its back beginning to tarnish and darken as the liquid runs over it, before the Bulbasaur falls to the ground. Casting its eyes around, it fixes them on Rose, a tentacle lashing out to yank the small Grass-type closer, within reach of being a snack. Morganite takes 38 damage and 2 injuries from Razor Leaf. (Or 14 and 0 with Reflect.) Tentacruel takes an injury and is Staggered from Psybeam. It's super effective! Tentacruel is on its last HP bar. Tentacruel gains +2 to critical hit! Morganite takes 43 damage, 2 injuries, is Poisoned (not that it matters) and Faints from Sludge. Tentacruel pulls Rose with Threaded.

"Morganite too?!" Mica let out a frustrated cry as her Pokemon were dropped one after another. This Pokemon was a monster! She'd give it one more attempt... or put the meanie away for good! Mica releases Apex adjacent to the Tentacruel as a Shift Action, Holding her Standard until after Apex Attacks, after which she throws a pokeball. Apex goes for the Fury Swipes. The Tentacruel screeches as the claws cut away at its tentacles and score its dome, before the ball from Mica hits it square on. The ball shakes, as though trembling in rage... and shakes... and shakes... and keeps shaking... until, finally, it clicks shut. The night falls silent, besides the buzzing coming from the softly glowing water. Tentacruel takes an injury from Fury Swipes. Mica caught a Delta Tentacruel! Level: 25 Gender: Female Nature: Lonely Abilities: Overgrow, Poison Touch Moves: Leaf Tornado, Venoshock, Razor Leaf, Sludge, Toxic Spikes, Vine Whip Note: It's ornery, and so will not obey orders until you've proved yourself to it. (i.e. your team average is closer to its level) Each of you can take 120 EXP to split amongst your 'mon.

Donovan falls to the ground and just lays there, spreading his arms and legs out wide "I'm tired" His voice sounded defeated and Rose wandered over and sat on the ground next to him, humming gently. "Mica, you and your Pokemon are so strong. I just....I'm gonna become stronger so that I'm not such a burden to you."
He laid there for a bit longer, just listening to Rose next to him and staring at the stars above him.

Mica lays down on top of Donovan. More accurately she flops on top of him, letting her full weight sprawl across his body, and wraps her arms around him. "You're not a burden you dingus... there are a lot of different kinds of strength, and I've never felt like you were holding me back. If anything, you're holding yourself back." She rested her head on his shoulder and snuggled in for warmth. "Let's get some sleep... we can do somemore fishing in the morning and figure out what to do with this big meanie."

The night passes quietly, and without further incident, with only the slight buzzing of the Chinchou pond as ambient noise. Day comes, and the pair is woken by the sun beginning to shine on the campground.
The pair gets their breakfast and Training done, before heading back inside. "So, how went it?" Earl asks, as the two enter.

As they stumble in, Donovan wipes the sleep from his eyes "It was a weird forest Tentacruel that was causing the issues. But Mica caught it, so you won't have to deal with it anymore."
He looked over at Mica and shrugged "Have you figured out what you want to do with it?"

"It was really cranky, I've never seen a Pokemon like that before." Mica commented with a finger curled under her chin. "Even when Dusty was still bitey he wasn't nearly that angry. I'd like to make friends with it, but we have so much going on already I don't know if I'll have the time. If you wanted to put it to work for eating your pond mister, you could have it... but I don't think it'll be very well behaved."
She held it's pokeball up and turned it over in her hands thoughtfully. "Donovan, you're the expert on grass types, why do you think it was like that?"

"Well I'm guessing it was just hungry and found an easy spot for food. Thanks to it's typing, there isn't really much that the Chinchou would be able to do to it, and they're all just bundled up so nicely in one spot. My guess would be something moved into the forest that pushed it out, and so that's what caused it to come here and find the bay at all" He shrugged as he continued "As for why it was especially mean, I don't really think it was. The unfortunate thing is it was just doing what came naturally to it. Most of the time we end up making friends with Pokemon with food, or meet ones who aren't hunters. This is what happens when you stumble upon a hunter and get between it and it's prey, you become the prey" He shuddered as he remembered being chased through Eterna by Beedrill, only surviving because of Melody saving him with her Gourgeist.
"Anyways, it most likely will only see us in a negative light for a while because of the way we met it and the type of Pokemon it is. It's just how it is sometimes"

"Well," Earl says, "in either case, I don't imagine it'd be the best to have 'round here. Neither me or my wife are really Trainers at all - most of the time, the Chinchou are just happy to be fed, and protect themselves just fine. We mostly just catch stuff to eat... and I don't know how tasty that thing'd be, if it's a plant. If we tried to make it work, I imagine we couldn't do much to stop it causing problems, unless we wanted to spend all our time catching food for it. So, you guys can keep it."
"Thanks for the offer, though," he says. "I do appreciate it. Now, were you wanting to grab the rods I promised and go out fishing now?"

Donovan looked over at Mica, waiting to see her reaction. While he would much rather just continue on and move to the Temple, but he knew the girl was really looking forward to fishing. He hesitated for a moment before shrugging "I'll leave that up to Mica. I'm not really the best at fishing after all"
Hopefully the Tentacruel wasn't going to cause Mica and him too many problems too.....

"I really wanted to try out that super rod, but I know we're in a hurry..." Mica gave Donovan a big puppy-eyed look. "Just an hour? We worked really hard to get this chance... I'll even give you the Tentacruel if you want it.... you really like plants pleaaaaaase?"

Having gotten Donovan to agree to an hour fishing, the pair once more sits by the ocean, Mica with a better rod in her hands than she was used to. It's got a bunch of thingamajiggers to help reel in fish. Which is a good thing, because when Mica finally reels something in after way-too-long of nothing happening (the time is slipping away!) is a very heavy creature.
When she's able to finally pulls it up, it's a large blue not-fish with arms and legs. It seems to not really care about what's going on, looking around curiously, still with its mouth wrapped around the lure. It looks over towards Mica and Donovan once it notices them, and gives a carefree little wave with one of its arms.

Donovan does his best to keep from seeming too eager to leave as Mica fishes up nothing for a while. He knows this is something she had been looking forward to doing "Oh by the way, I forgot to mention it back when you offered but you can keep the Tentacruel if you want. I may like plants but it just seems too...." He hesitated to find the right word "Mean. I don't think it would fit in well with the rest of my team"
After a few minutes when the blue Pokemon waved, Donovan hesitantly waved back at it, a look of confusion on his face. It's not often that something gets dragged out of the water and then waves at you

Mica seems somber about Donovan's confession. She didn't think the Tentacruel was a bully, it just needed something it wasn't getting. That something definitely wasn't food, it had gotten plenty of that. The line gave a tug or two, and she hooked whatever was on the other end, but was surprised when it hardly fought at all. A large, blue amphibian practically walking out of the water of it's own accord. It paused and gave them a smile and a wave. Mica's face lit up, stars in her eyes! IT WAS SO HANDSOME AND FRIENDLY! She waved back at it with a big smile, astonished with how large it was too! Almost as tall as she was!
"Hey! I'm Mica!" She put the rod down and moved to the Pokemon's side. "Can you open for me? Say 'Aaaaaaaaah'" Mica gaped her mouth for it, to show it what she meant, intent on getting the lure away from it and to see what kind of personality it might have.

As the 'mon was lowered to the ground, it moves towards her, lure still in its mouth. When she asks it to say 'aaaaah', it obliges. Very, very loudly, the lure falling out of its mouth as it does so. It blinks happily at Mica, before picking up the lure on the ground in front of it and holding it out to her.
