"That's going to be a hard no from me." Mica stated bluntly, the Bonsly's eyes still perfectly round but holding a hot intensity. "I don't like how you are treating Larie, and you are being very rude. Not to mention..." At this there was a dangerous glint there. "You might be the peak, but everyone working together put you there. What gives you the right to bully them?! What gives you the right to even comment about other tribes?! You selfish... Conniving...!"
The Bonsly looked like it was about to use self-destruct, and Mica was yelling with all the volume she could muster. Given Bonsly's wails were so ear-splitting, it was impressive. "BITCH!" The last word came blurting out, and she stomped angrily in place.

"MICA!" Donovan yells sternly "Even if she's rude to us, that is not how we speak to a potential ally."
He sighed and turned to the Dedenne, his eyes looking cold "But Mica has a good point. It really isn't polite to speak to us that way, especially when we're the first guests you've had in years. So how about, instead of telling us to leave, you show us to the rest of the people in charge, and then we discuss how we're going to free you from this stone prison. And if you have a problem with that, well that's why me and Mica are here. To solve problems"

"You insolent little brat," Morania spits out, "You have no idea what I've done, how I've held this all together. I have kept this tribe from falling apart. I have kept the outside forces from destroying all that we hold dear!" Her voice is raised, the undertone of threat shifting into more of a... tone.
"And there are no 'others'," she snaps at Donovan. "I am the only one. I am not so weak or feeble to need others to make decisions for me. Especially not you. This 'prison' is our home where we shall remain safe, and isolated from those who would seek to destroy us! And all that who want to put an end to that will have to be... removed. Salyn!"
At her call, from through another doorway, a long blue floating eel, like the one that Enya had - though much, much larger seeming at this scale - comes floating in. He looks around, gazing over Morania glaring at the two outsiders, the outsiders in question, and a trembling Larie shaking her head in fear, before looking back at the Dedenne. "Yes, My Lady?" The question is perfectly measured in tone, as though she had not been screaming at him.
"These two," Morania jabs at Mica and Donovan with her tail, "Eliminate them. And then take that useless excuse for a handmaiden down to timekeeping. I have tolerated her failures for the last time. I do not know why my father even took her on."
"Very well." There's no real emotion in the Eeleketross' voice, and he reaches over to grab Larie in one suckered hand, picking her off the ground. "I'm sorry, outsiders, but the Lady Morania has decreed your death, and so it shall be." Without further fanfare, Salyn launches a bolt of electricity from his body, travelling the gap to Donovan in an instant.
Unusually, instead of the searing pain that Donovan would have expected... there's only a slight tingle from the electricity. It's not actually hurting in the slightest. "You had your chance to escape." There seems to be the slightest of emphasis on the last word, possibly imagined.

" AHHH" Donovan throws himself back as if the hit had actually done damage " Mica, come on, we need to get out of here!" He gets up, favoring the side that was hit to add to the illusion of being hurt, before running off the way they had come. Hopefully after making it a little ways out they could meet up with that Eelektross and Donovan could find out why it fake attacked him.... 13 on my Guile to make it look like he was actually hurt

Oh jeez, that Pokemon might be even stronger then Enya's! Donovan resisted electrical attacks and it had really done a lot. Why had it seemed so underwhelming? Just a tiny little spark! She'd teach him, she'd...! Mica couldn't copy that. Confusion and uncertainty mixed on her features. She turned tail, picking Donovan up on her stony mast and went sprinting off at full clip. "It'll be okay Donovan!" She said with certainty.

The two of them having the audacity to try escaping seems to surprise Morania, and it takes a moment before she snaps "What are you waiting for Salyn, go after them! Don't let them get too far." "Sorry my lady, I was just not expecting them to flee."
It takes a moment before the electric serpent, Larie still in hand, wriggles its way after them, letting Mica and Donovan get a fair ways down corridors and around a few turns, before zooming to catch up with them. "Alright," he says, "you can stop now. We're far enough away, Morania will not be able to hear you."
"I heard what you said before," Salyn says, "about wanting to free us from here. And while Morania may not want that, it would be good for the rest of us."
"She's... a little bit intense in that regard," Larie squeaks, "Her partner was killed in a battle with another Tribe, and then her daughter ran off with a Steel Pokémon after being an ambassador there. Not even one with an Electric typing. It was a disgrace, and that really solidified her hatred for everything else, because they'd stolen the two things that she'd cared from her."
"Not to say that she wasn't always like this in some capacity," Salyn says, "but it was not so... apparent... beforehand. Of course, for most people, she doesn't affect them directly, and she's a source of consistency, so... they're fine with her. Some of us do our best to moderate her excesses before it hits the rest of the Tribe. I do miss her father. It was so much easier..."
"But, we want to help you," Larie says, "I'll do whatever's needed... besides, if I don't… I'm going to be consigned to timekeeping until my body gives out. This way, I just need to last until you manage to let us out." She gives a weak smile.

Donovan nodded "When the attack hit me and didn't hurt, I knew it would be something like that. If she has absolute power in here it makes sense that she wouldn't want to change that"
He sighed "However it isn't gonna be easy to do what we need to do in that case. Either myself or Mica need to touch the Plate. If we manage to take hold of it, we will both be pulled from here, along with it. Things might start going downhill in here when that happens, we don't know how quickly either. Unfortunately we don't have a way to get back in contact with anyone once we leave unless we made a return trip, and...well if we go back somewhere that's just more time we could be using making it to the next Tribe, and getting one step closer to freedom." He looked at the two electric types with a shine in his eyes "But if you'll still help, we need to find the Plate. If she's guarding it, we need to find a way to get past her without getting the two of you in trouble as well"

"Oh... there were a couple of Steel Pokemon when we visited the Rock Tribe, but I don't remember any rats there." Mica snipped with a degree of bitterness, at Donovan's stern glance in her direction she puffed up a little. "What?! She threatened to, and then ordered to have us killed! Also she's a giant brat." Getting it all off her chest she took a long breath and seemed to settle better. "Axiom is a very real danger to you and your people, and nobody ever takes us seriously. Donovan told me she's tall and noodley, kinda like you but with a round face with fins sticking off of it... and she's like... red and a greenish blue." Mica explained to Salyn.

"There are... a lot of mice here," Larie says, giggling. "Like, really a lot. Oodles of them. Most of 'em are pretty good, though. But... yes, I agree with your assessment of Morania. Both here, and before."
"It's only been, like, a hundred-odd Moons, too," Salyn adds, putting Larie down on the floor at last. "It'll just keep getting worse as time goes on, I'm sure. She'll probably get really bored of things at some point and... well, I don't want to think about it. So, really, any problems that might arise from helping you get that Plate to free us... they'll be nothing compared to an eternity of Morania doing things. Especially if she does learn how to control the Plate better. She was never really adept at doing that... which is a shame, as otherwise she'd have helped the others who knew that sort of stuff with the Seal, and then we'd be rid of her."
"Besides," Larie says, "I'm already in trouble. There's not really anything more that she could do to me. And if all you need to do is touch it, doesn't matter if she's guarding it or not. The Pachirisu bounces up and down. "In fact, that would almost be better if she were there. Seeing the look on her face would be worth everything, if you could just snatch it from under her."
"I'll admit," the Eeleketross says, "I don't recognize this 'Axiom', either by name or description. Do you know which Tribe she is from? Granted in the end it makes no difference to the response to a threat... but it would be nice to know what we may have to prepare for."

"Axiom is Tribeless. Like us. Those of us who weren't sealed live far far shorter lives, but we also aren't bound by the same things you used to be. Other than Mica, Myself, and Axiom, there are only two other people who can enter the Temples. We are also the only humans who can still turn into Pokemon, and only when we enter into these places."
He pondered for a moment "Whatever she is, she swept through the Fighting Tribe leaving nothing but destruction in her wake."

"Couldn't she like... kill you, or throw you in prison? She seems like that kind of person." Mica asked Larie at the mention of not being in more trouble. "How bad is timekeeping that you're so terrified of it?" Curiosity got the better of what little spite the girl had in her body for a moment before she shook her head. "Anyway, yes, we will help. We still don't know how to use the plates, but we've been entrusted with quite a few now. The tribes want to be free."

"I suppose that makes sense," the serpent says, "if the Plates are sealed away, they aren't granting life or anything. I don't understand the not-being-able-to-transform aspect... but, here we are, stuck in these forms in here, so... what do I know about that? It's not like we couldn't change getting too far away from the Plates beforehand. We would just stop being sustained. Interesting that those who remained outside devolved so quickly..."
"Timekeeping basically is prison, followed by death," Larie says. "Before we came in here, there were crystals that naturally formed. They stored a small amount of electricity, and then slowly released it as light. Very nice at night, if you didn't make your own light, or wanted to do something as a human. But the Chief, they had this massive crystal, carved into such a shape that it could be filled when the sun was highest and produce light until just that time again the next day. So there would always be a light for anyone who needed to find the Chief, even in the deepest of dark."
"Morania perverted, that, though. It became no longer an honour to contribute a little power to the crystal, mingling with the electricity of others in the Tribe." Larie shudders. "Instead, those consigned to it were forced to, every day at midday, when the crystal ceased glowing, entirely empty their bodies of electricity. You are not Electric, so you wouldn't know, but that is a draining experience. Normally, you don't recover fully for several days, and it's only used as a last resort. The only one who's lasted any length of time there is Roven…" She can't finish the thought, so Salyn picks it up.
"And that's only because he's big enough to light the timepiece without completely draining himself. Everyone knows it, but Morania accepts it because he's positively cruel and abusive to anyone else stuck down there. All while they're in such a terrible state, too weak to resist" He shakes his head. "The first one punished instead became the warden, and it becomes even worse. I wouldn't want to subject anyone to that, least of all Larie… It's become simply a cruel excuse of keeping track of the days while in here. "

"How many days has it been?" Mica asked, tilting to one side. The more she hears, the more Morania sounds horrible. Losing people you care about is no excuse for any of it. Still, talking was only delaying her battle, and she started back towards that room while her question was answered. "I wish we could take you with us... what's it like being a danger noodle?" She asks Salyn.

"Got it, so we need to do everything we can to avoid this Rovan. And if Morania figures out that you all are helping us right now, there's always a chance that she's getting someone strong right now to back her up." He frowns and pauses for a moment
"I guess we should hurry back. Though once we get you out of here, I'd love to find out more about how you all lived before the Sealing. There are a ton of things I still don't know, and once this is over I want to learn as much as possible and work on helping all of the Tribes integrate into modern society.."

"Uhhhhh..." Salyn concentrates, as he tries to answer Mica's first question. "Let's see... a hundred and twenty Moons was the last significant number I remember, and it's twenty-eight days to a Moon, so, uh..." He pauses, thinking, before giving up and saying, sheepishly, "...well, more than twenty-eight hundred days. I was never really good with numbers. The spiders that keep track of the tally could probably give you a more accurate number."
He jets towards Mica, with Larie bouncing along behind, gently guiding her towards a different hall than the one they came down. "You'll want to go this way, instead. It'll let us go right to the Plate room, without having to go through the chamber Morania's claimed as her own. She might still be with the Plate, but at least it's not as big of a chance. Also... I don't know what you mean by 'danger noodle,' sorry." He seems very perplexed.
"It's a funny word," Larie says, giggling. "I like it." She turns to Donovan. "I guess if you're just kids, you didn't really know life before the Sealing. At least not well. But, tell you what. If you get us free from here, I'll tell you some stories. As a handmaid, I've got a lot of them." She giggles again, before trailing off. "Well... I guess I'm not anymore..."
"You always will be to me," Salyn says to her. "I told you that all that time ago, that you'd always be special to me. You still are, even if she can't see it." He turns back to Donovan. "So... you're right that it would probably be a lot better if we weren't seen with you. Lot easier to spin you as escaping outside or being vaporized... or, if she ends up seeing you while grabbing the Plate, that you were just too slippery. I'll take you as close as I can to the room. If you want me to come with you, though, in case she's there... then I'm willing to pay the price, whatever that may end up being." He looks between Mica and Donovan, waiting to see their answers. Larie looks a little worried at the offer.

Donovan shook his head "No, I want both of you to get as far away from us as possible. The vile poison type managed to escape after threatening both of your lives, and everyone elses. That can be the story you tell if it helps." He sighs "I would prefer you not having to pay any prices because of us, thanks."
"And uh....we're a lot younger than you might think. By your measuring system I would be....216 moons? Give or take a few"

Mica seemed lost in thought after the mention of twenty eight hundred moons. That was twelve a year but sometimes more, but Salyn hadn't said if the moons needed to be full or not, and there was a moon every night. So that was three hundred sixty five moons a year, but Donovan was only two hundred and something moons old. She scrapped the thought process, looking disgruntled. The question hadn't helped her understanding at all.
"I agree with Donovan, go and cherish each other... We'll be the bad guys this time..."

"No, I had figured you were around there," Salyn says. "Any older, and you'd probably remember more of our culture. I thank you both for your kindness and thought, though, it is much beyond your age. If you take the first right, first left, and then first right again, you will reach where you need to go." He bows his head, and Larie does the same following his lead. "Good luck on your task." "Yes, please... we're counting on you to be able to do this..." With that, the eel smiles, gently picks up Larie, and then 'swims' off, leaving Mica and Donovan alone. It does not take long to follow the directions, though the atmosphere is a little bit foreboding. Nobody interrupts them on their way, though, and they reach the chamber with no incidents. It reminds Donovan more of the Fighting room, with overlooks and stairs, rather than the plainer chambers that have been in the Temples recently. Unfortunately, while it's far emptier than the place where the Fighting Plate lay, it is not fully empty. Morania stands within, perched atop the plinth where the bright yellow Plate rests, seemingly muttering to herself in annoyance. The pair of outsiders is to her side, but she doesn't seem to have noticed them yet. If you want a stealthy approach, roll... well, Stealth.

Moraina did have pretty big ears, Mica hoped they could get to the plate without her noticing. That would be ideal. On the one hand she felt kinda bad for going against the wishes of a clan leader, on the other they had gotten someone's blessing. And the Dedenne was a huge jerk. She was over it. Tip-toeing along on her rocky feet, she made her way towards their goal.

Donovan moved forward, expecting to trip over his own legs, or step on something, or just do anything that he normally does. But his Roselia body moves much more gracefully than his human one, each step coming more naturally than the last. It also helps that he's so much smaller and lighter. 12 on my Stealth
