"Well, If its an artifact it may be interesting to inspect. If its a powerful pokemon it would be fascinating. And would it be the home of one of the pokemon of Myth well.... I can't imagine such a sight as anything but a blessing. I'm not sure how far we'll get but I'm now excited to see how deep we can push. We may wish to search out your Carbink Jioni, I'm eager to head onwards."
It was obvious there was a bit of wistful romanticism in Star's thoughts of adventure and what they'd find below. A sword of legend? A dragon? A tomb of the ancients? Either-which-way it sounded like a story to remember and one to gush to Sioda and Saasita about. She couldn't wait. She also didn't seem focused on taming any creatures of myth, just seeing one.

"If that is so it would be something indeed." He thought for a moment, "I can take you to the path to the next floor if you would like."

Jioni shakes his head, politely declining.
"Thank you Master Colven, but that won't be necessary. We'll be on this floor for a bit longer."

Star had been ready to agree but held back, once more deciding to let Jioni lead. She didn't particularly mind saying no here either, she did want to explore and see what was around here after all. She was hoping for a bit more excitement now, albeit eager to go deeper.
"As Jioni said, we'll take our time and enjoy our slice of adventure. Thank you kindly for the offer though. Have a good day, you and your wonderful Starmie."
Star couldn't resist giving the pokemon a bit of praise the way it seemed to be lapping it up, hoping the thing would be able to remind itself of her words if it ever needed a bit of reassurance it was trying its hardest despite the rough training.

The Priest nodded, "I will be off then, by your leave." A quick bow cand both the man a Starmie proceeded to walk towards what could be assumed to be the stairs.

"Cool, lead the way Don."
Jioni followed behind the pup as it kept the lookout.

Star and Hope seemed content to keep pace with Alexia, looking around carefully as they went. A carbink would be nice for Jioni, or perhaps some lost items could be fun. Or perhaps even a group of pokemon to give them a challenge? She honestly wasn't sure what she was seeking, she was just enjoying the view as they walked and the tall fit woman beside her. Oh yes, so far her 'adventure' was starting on a high note for sure.

The tracks are small, however they seem to be overlapped by much more pronounced clawed marks. A cry is heard from up ahead as Alexia breaks forward and hurries toward the sound. As the rest of you come into view you spot two wolf-like creatures towering over a small blue bear cub. They seem to have been attacking it but as you arrive they turn to the party with their eyes gleaming wickedly.

Star gasped in horror, she knew about the cycle of life and such things but to see a baby pokemon being attacked was absolutely not okay. There was only so much she could take and that was almost as high up there as attacking children. It just.... was not okay. Firmly and silently she took her hand off Alexia's arm and pointed at the Lycanroc with a firm tone in her voice. It was not bloodthirsty as much as firm and demanding, much like a mother lecturing her children. "No. Bad! Leave that baby alone!!"Little motes of light burst from her fingertips without warning and with a sizzle and a pop them flew into the group of three. The Cubchoo though was missed completely at Star's skilled attack, albeit both the Lycanrocs got to enjoy a bit of star burns via a Swift Attack. Hope mirrored her trainers move, moving between her trainer and the Lycanrocs before growling ominously at the pair of them. ~~~~~~~~~~ Lucky Chant (3/3), Reflect (2/2)

Jioni was equally angered by the display. He ordered Don to stay back as he approached the two wolves, stopping just as he was in range. He looked at the two, pure menace in his eyes and voice as he spoke to them.
"Both of you, leave while you have the chance. I do not want to harm you. Clearly you two have lost your way, and forgotten the way of the pack. Should you ignore my warning, my reminder will be harsh. I can assure you, my bite is much worse than my bark.
As if for emphasis he unsheathed his trusty sword.
"Scathách, Swords Dance, then turn invisible."
At her master's command the sword glowed light blue, spinning and swaying in place. The glow faded, but was remained upon her body albeit much more faintly. Once she'd completed her movements she suddenly disappeared from view.

The Lycanroc took the attack from Star as best they could, the stars ignore most of their rough rock-like skin. Hopes Growl drew their attention and seeing the anger she conveyed made them recoil slightly.

Star stepped to the side of the thrown rock, grateful for the reflexes child rearing had imparted on her. While she seemed rather relaxed about the attack, Hope on the other hand did not. A loud 'moo!' from the Miltank as she brought her foot down hard on the weakened Lycanroc, stomping down on it with her hoof on its leg with a resounding thwack of her steel foot on bone. Apparently she did not appreciate her trainer being attacked. Star on the other hand knew it took a moment for her swift attack to recharge and waved her hand as a new wave of light protected the party, adding a light screen to their defenses. Even though the rocks had missed Star, Jioni was livid. He ran up to the wolf that had aimed at her and slashed at it with the invisible sword.
"You DARE to attack my MOTHER! Scath, show yourself and Autotomize."
His entire demeanor had changed, aggression of a different sort apparent in his every sound and motion. He growled each of his words. Even his aura had changed. It had gone from its usual pink to a fiery red that danced angrily. The sparkles that came off him had become ember-like as they came of him in wild and violent succession. His eyes were like silver flames and his hair whipped about him.
The sword popped back into sight and shed metal shavings from its body, somehow making itself lighter.

The first Lycan roc is stomped hard as the second takes a full hit from Jioni's rage. As the first falls the second reacts to the boy's anger in kind lunging forward with a bite.

Feeling the lycan sink it's teeth into him Jioni barked at in in primal fury, his aura flaring and growing in intensity. Giving chase as it was pushed away from him he slammed his metal-clad fist into the beast's face. His other hand brought down the sword Pokemon on the wolf with another bark of "Pursuit Scathach!"

Star was not amused as the Lycanroc continued to fight, more importantly it launched itself at Jioni. Motes of light swirled around her hand and blasted into the Lyrcanroc with unerring precision even as Hope slammed into it from behind in a tackle attack, pushing it further away from the trainers and the baby. It seemed neither of them where willing to let up on the pokemon as it refused to back down.

The two wolves yelp and whimper as they are hit hard falling to the ground. The Cubchoo covers its head as it cowers in the corner not knowing what to expect next. (65 xp to all pokes)

Star moved closer to the cubchoo and kneeled on the ground, unmindful of her white dress as she patted her lap tenderly with a warm smile. She seemed to radiate warmth and kindness as she spoke softly as if to a young toddler she met in a market place, keeping her tone gentle and not moving suddenly. It was both a baby and an animal so she had to be careful not to spook it after all especially after what happened.
"Hey little one, can I check you over for wounds before you go back to find your mom? I'm pretty good at getting rid of pain."
Her Miltank stood next to her protectively, but gave an encouraging little noise at the cubchoo. Star was certainly not the type of trainer to capture a pokemon against its will, nor one she wouldn't actually want to travel with her. She still had a soft spot for children though, even young pokemon.

Jioni calms once the battle's ended, his posture and breathing relaxing as he loosened the grip on the sword in his hand; his aura had likewise returned to its less violent state. He re-sheathed the sword Pokemon, allowing her to rest after fighting valiantly.
He turned and called to Don, the small wolf running forward to his master's side lead by the three faelights a distance before him. Jioni bent down to pet the wolf before having him keep watch with him on the Lycanroc while Star tended to the bearcub.

The Cubchoo opens its eyes and slowly moves to Star, sitting in her lap. A close inspection of the cub shows a gash along it's right arm and scratch marks on it's back. Alexia frowns, knowing that nature was cruel it still did not lessen the feelings she tried to squelch. She joined Jioni on watch giving the young fighter a pat on the shoulder.
