I come with two submissions~ First, I present Paige, the daughter of a princess... or basically someone high up the social ladder but isn't quite royalty. If this is a problem, then I shall change it to another position. Regardless, mentally scarred by the do-or-die court life, Paige is a book worm who sequesters herself away in the academy at Varien. Despite this seeming isolation, she has strong attachments to all of the countries in northern Evaria, and the stirrings of war trouble her greatly. While she may seem weak, hidden strength lies within her, a strength that can be glimpsed whenever she's seen handling beasts rather than humans. Make sure to click on her background title for more information about her! Second is Ayame, twin of Yuri who will be submitted by Kagami... hopefully. It is getting kind of late, but I'm not one to talk. Ayame hails from Hanagami, that weird Eastern-themed island city-state that I submitted not too long ago. Extremely protective of her sister and concerned over the state of her clan on the other side of the world, she studies all she can about the construction of Grimoires so that she can bring that knowledge back for her clan's benefit. Just like with the other character, make sure to click on the background title for more information~ As you might have noticed, neither Ayame nor Paige have inventories written out just yet. I will be filling those out later... if I get accepted. The inventories don't really add much to their fluff, and 8000 is a lot of money @_@ . 1. Is there anybody else here that you would like to play with?Well, if my twin happens to be picked, then Kagami, the person playing the other twin, is sort of a must. Otherwise, I haven't had a game-breakingly bad experience with anyone in the Discord chat yet, so I really don't mind who I play with. 2. How interested in world-lore are you? Would you prefer a game where you are moving from place to place and combat to combat without much fanfare, or do you want to play a game where you get involved in the politics of the continent? Neither answer is wrong--but if we do end up setting up two parties, we will try to roughly divide based on this answer because in our experience, having different goals from a gameplay standpoint can lead to friction in parties. While I can make no promises on my ability to roleplay this well, gimme all the politics. Actually, let me amend that. Gimme all the politics with Paige. I placed her so high up on the Merai social ladder and gave her strong ties to the other two countries precisely to play around with the building political tensions between the three nations. Unwilling as she may appear to be, it's unwillingness born out of lack of self-confidence. I envision her as the type who, when called to rise, will rise. As for Ayame, I'm honestly fine with either way for her. Most of her political interests lie in the confederation states, but she does have that whole mission of learning more about the grimoires to fulfill. My main reason for playing her, though, is really to just play off of Kagami's Yuri. 3. Do you want more of a sandbox or more structured gameplay? I honestly prefer more structured gameplay. I like it when gms throw me plot (or throw me into the plot). Sandboxes are awesome, too, but I have a difficult time choosing how to progress in them. 4. Do you prefer Roll20 for battles, or would you rather write out most combat? If you prefer Roll20, can you be available to play out battles in a sitting or two to prevent it from becoming an extended affair?I know it's difficult for some, but I do prefer live battles on roll20. If you let me do it play-by-post, then I start taking too much time to think about my every move. I've been trying to stop doing that, but it's been an uphill struggle for me to not second-guess everything I post in combat ><;; .

All right, finally ready to submit Giacomina Belladonna, the poison rose! "Mina" for short. She's the daughter of a reclusive ex-professor of the academy, with a poisonous touch and maybe a bit of a complex because of it. 1. Is there anybody else here that you would like to play with?I'd be happy to play with anyone! But I'm particularly interested in characters who might help draw Mina out of her shell. 2. How interested in world-lore are you? Would you prefer a game where you are moving from place to place and combat to combat without much fanfare, or do you want to play a game where you get involved in the politics of the continent? Neither answer is wrong--but if we do end up setting up two parties, we will try to roughly divide based on this answer because in our experience, having different goals from a gameplay standpoint can lead to friction in parties.I am definitely interested in lore and politics here! Mina has plenty of social skills to put to use if necessary. 3. Do you want more of a sandbox or more structured gameplay? To be honest, I prefer a little more structure. I can handle a sandbox but it will often entail some flailing until I figure out what to work toward, so having a definite plot to aim for helps. 4. Do you prefer Roll20 for battles, or would you rather write out most combat? If you prefer Roll20, can you be available to play out battles in a sitting or two to prevent it from becoming an extended affair?I can work with either one! Though my availability for Roll20 battles is somewhat spotty due to an erratic work schedule. In the near future I'd only be consistently available after 9 PM Central time, but depending on the day I might have the entire afternoon and evening free, so working out ahead of time when a live battle session would be will be necessary if we go that route.

Tadano Hitonari is up for review. As for Questions: 1. No one in particular. 2. I am always up for more exploration into a fantasy world, but if the group decides otherwise I'm okay with that as well. 3. The more options a group has to deal with a situation or with the world, I feel, is the better. Of course, having a sandbox world can get quite taxing on the GM(s). It's all a matter of GM and group preference for me. 4. Either or works well with me.

I'm pleased to present the Shirayuki Yurinaka to Headlesskoko's Ayame Yurinaka! I decided to link to Ayame's sheet too just in case Koko didn't get back in time to do it herself. 1. Is there anybody else here that you would like to play with?Obviously Koko, since they're playing my character's twin. But other than that, I'd love to get to play alongside Raven. I've seen their work as a Gm, and it's got me curious to what they're like as a player. 2. How interested in world-lore are you? Would you prefer a game where you are moving from place to place and combat to combat without much fanfare, or do you want to play a game where you get involved in the politics of the continent? Neither answer is wrong--but if we do end up setting up two parties, we will try to roughly divide based on this answer because in our experience, having different goals from a gameplay standpoint can lead to friction in parties.I love navigating my way through political situations, so bring on the roleplay! 3. Do you want more of a sandbox or more structured gameplay?Either or is fine with me. 4. Do you prefer Roll20 for battles, or would you rather write out most combat? If you prefer Roll20, can you be available to play out battles in a sitting or two to prevent it from becoming an extended affair? I've tried them both and they both have advantages and disadvantages. If Roll20 is used, then I'll easily be able to make time for it to play out battles in a single sitting.

Chris(tal) Rose, a Fairy Ace, Glamour Weaver magical girl. I'll likely want to go Arcanist at some point with her, but that's pretty much it. 1. Is there anybody else here that you would like to play with? I still consider myself to be new. I lurked for a year or so and have only been in a couple games. At this point I don't feel that I know the playstyles of the other people well enough to have any preferences on who I play with. I definitely prefer games that are rp heavy and where our rp effects the world. Getting involved into the politics makes it feel like our actions really impact the world. 3. Do you want more of a sandbox or more structured gameplay? I like both, though I will admit that I often will feel lost and become a yes man when the story is more sandboxy. 4. Do you prefer Roll20 for battles, or would you rather write out most combat? If you prefer Roll20, can you be available to play out battles in a sitting or two to prevent it from becoming an extended affair? I would definitely prefer to use roll20 at least for mapping. It makes things go so much quicker. Though, I can make do without if we have a struggle getting people together to play it out. That said, don't expect me to do a character voice for her.

Slamming down Olvan van Geveren, the father of metal in Evaria before the official time is up. 1. Is there anybody else here that you would like to play with?
I think everyone has preference. I certainly liked and/or amazed by some players more than others but I don't think I put a lot of importance on that. I like to play with all sort of people and see how it goes. 2. How interested in world-lore are you? Would you prefer a game where you are moving from place to place and combat to combat without much fanfare, or do you want to play a game where you get involved in the politics of the continent? Neither answer is wrong--but if we do end up setting up two parties, we will try to roughly divide based on this answer because in our experience, having different goals from a gameplay standpoint can lead to friction in parties.I read lore and I have written long paragraphs to criticize lore of some games in the past so, yes, I consider myself a lore hound and I am very interested in them. This is also a big reason of why I liked homebrew world over default setting or existing setting, because I like to read what others have created. I think I will always go with what the GM does best. A GM that is good with battle, then combat-heavy game will be awesome; a GM good with political roleplay, then a political-driven game will be incredible. But if I must answer, I don't particularly care about the direction the game is going as long as there are plenty of roleplay opportunities. For instance, combat after combat after combat without much agenda and direction will be boring to me; but, heavy combat with a clear objective and agenda is cool. I consider myself a very flexible, like water, kind of RPer who will try my best in whatever situation I am put in. 3. Do you want more of a sandbox or more structured gameplay?Personally, I like sandbox and I believe I can always initiate something and not be passive. But in a team game, it's more complicated than personal preference so I usually goes with the group. Sandbox is excellent for group that is proactive but not so much on a more passive group. So, I can see some problem with sandbox whereas structured gameplay is the safe choice. As long as I don't feel absolutely railroaded(like whatever I do doesn't matter, the story is going this way), I am cool. 4. Do you prefer Roll20 for battles, or would you rather write out most combat? If you prefer Roll20, can you be available to play out battles in a sitting or two to prevent it from becoming an extended affair?I fully acknowledge that Roll20 battle really helps with the pacing of a PbP game. However, I am on GMT+8 so Roll20 might be a problem. I do work graveyard shift sometimes(I am on a flexible and uncertain schedule) so attending a Roll20 session is a possibility. I will not say no to Roll20, just sharing that my timezone can be an issue.

Here's Saro ir-Shikari, a hunter of Beasts ready to prove himself their master. Just need to work out his inventory; everything else is done. 1. Is there anybody else here that you would like to play with?
No preference! 2. How interested in world-lore are you?Super! The character's not keen on politics, but I'm the kind of player that hunts down every data log and scans every lore entry in video games. 3. Do you want more of a sandbox or more structured gameplay?
I think a good mix of both is best. Give players plenty of leeway to surprise you with where they want to go and what they want to do, but don't leave them floundering and uncertain. 4. Do you prefer Roll20 for battles, or would you rather write out most combat? If you prefer Roll20, can you be available to play out battles in a sitting or two to prevent it from becoming an extended affair?I prefer writing out combat. I wouldn't mind Roll20 for very large/complex battles, but my schedule makes it difficult to find time to sit down for a couple hours and play one out in real time. I'd have to check in once in a while to make my turn.

Alright, presenting Cai Renxiang, the... I don't know how to describe her. The spiritual rager from a far away land? No, that sounds awful... eh, I'm sure you'll figure it out when you read up on her. She is loosely based on the Hanagami lore by Koko and Kagami, but can be easily altered to fit other concepts. You'll notice she doesn't have an inventory yet. Inventories are really tedious when you're not in the game yet, and I didn't really have much time for it. If I get in, it will be finished promptly!
Hey, I did it! I made a second character in like... 2 hours for the entire thing, which I'm really proud of. Here is Veles Cardona, son of a once rich Hemme merchant, who will do anything to restore the family name, and provide for his father.
Questions!
Is there anybody else here that you would like to play with? Well, I've known carnackiArdent for quite a while at this point and never been in a game with him, so it'd be nice, but far from required! No one else in particular~
How interested in world-lore are you? Would you prefer a game where you are moving from place to place and combat to combat without much fanfare, or do you want to play a game where you get involved in the politics of the continent?
Hmm, how do I phrase this. I... yes? I tend to be a roleplay leaning player over a combat leaning player, but I enjoy both. Politics is cool though, bring on the politics! My berserker character will just... probably ruin everything though if she gets in, fair warning.
Do you want more of a sandbox or more structured gameplay? I'm going to say something that might be heresy to some people: sandboxes are boring. Gasp. I mean I don't actually hate sandboxes, but they can often degrade into "You walk here, you fight some things that were randomly generated, you walk there, more random generated fights." I'm in a game for roleplay, so more structured storylines by the gms tends to lend itself to that. However, I'm not opposed to sandboxes, but I think it's easier for gms to provide compelling roleplay threads in a somewhat more structured story.
Do you prefer Roll20 for battles, or would you rather write out most combat? If you prefer Roll20, can you be available to play out battles in a sitting or two to prevent it from becoming an extended affair? No particular preference? I like Roll20 a lot, but it can make it more difficult for readers outside of the game to track battles, if anyone wants to read the game for fun. It's very convenient though! If Roll20 is used, I'm definitely down for sitting down and hammering out a battle in a shorter period of time when need be. It's nice to be able to have snappy battles.

Here's Chester Hexapod A magi with venomous abilities. He desires to leave his small forest village and ends up falling in with a Reiner, a mage looking to correct the mistakes of the past. 1. Is there anybody else here that you would like to play with? There are quite a few people I would really like to get a chance to play with. So many that it would be pointless to make a huge long list, I'll really be glad with whomever you pick. 2. How interested in world-lore are you? Would you prefer a game where you are moving from place to place and combat to combat without much fanfare, or do you want to play a game where you get involved in the politics of the continent? Neither answer is wrong--but if we do end up setting up two parties, we will try to roughly divide based on this answer because in our experience, having different goals from a gameplay standpoint can lead to friction in parties.Lore is one of my favorite things about gaming and stories in general. I love getting involved in a world where I can delve deeper into the way things work and the people inside. I'd love a politically charged game more than a combat one. I enjoy combat but as more of a compliment to the more social aspects of the game. 3. Do you want more of a sandbox or more structured gameplay?I usually prefer structure personally, it's nice to be able to make choice but having more of an overarching plot feels better to me. It gives me solid ground to build off of. 4. Do you prefer Roll20 for battles, or would you rather write out most combat? If you prefer Roll20, can you be available to play out battles in a sitting or two to prevent it from becoming an extended affair? If given the chance I'd take Roll 20, it feels way more fluid. Especially if you can get all the players together at the same time. I usually work during the week but if people are up when I get home or are free on the weekends I could easily meet up.

Still missing some possible inventory stuff and tweaks but here is Alduin Gunnarsen ar Bahaghari, a skinwalker shaman from Bagani tribe of Nameless nomads that's being sponsored by one of the city-states of Amaeran (Cagayan de Plata) in the Confederation of Amaeran. 1. Is there anybody else here that you would like to play with?No one in particular pops out as a particular need, but I think most of the applicants here are cool and I'd like to try this game with any of 'em if at all possible. 2. How interested in world-lore are you? Would you prefer a game where you are moving from place to place and combat to combat without much fanfare, or do you want to play a game where you get involved in the politics of the continent? Neither answer is wrong--but if we do end up setting up two parties, we will try to roughly divide based on this answer because in our experience, having different goals from a gameplay standpoint can lead to friction in parties.Did you say politics? Yes please. Give me that politics and intrigue - I find those fun~ But I do have the most fun when it's balanced between movement/combat and all the RP-goodness. Too much of one can either be overwhelming or boringly draggy (or both). In this case, with my char as an outsider it'll be fun to be seeing this from the eyes of an outsider looking in. 3. Do you want more of a sandbox or more structured gameplay? I like both and would like to see a mixture that leans somewhat more into sandbox. Structured gameplay's fun and I always like structure, but I've also experienced being forcibly dragged from one plot point to the next without freedom of choice or player agency in other games and it's not a fun experience. So maybe just like have plot hooks and places where players could pick choices and progress the story through their own choices would be most fun in my end. 4. Do you prefer Roll20 for battles, or would you rather write out most combat? If you prefer Roll20, can you be available to play out battles in a sitting or two to prevent it from becoming an extended affair?Yes please, Roll20 makes combats go by MUCH faster in PTU. And it's also easier to visualize and keep track of. I don't mind scheduling a time and place to do the battles in 1-2 sittings for efficiency's sake either, plus it's more fun that way.

Fei Xing Hanxu, The picture is from a standard Pokemon campaign, that is not her fantasy appearance.
1. Is there anybody else here that you would like to play with? Open to playing with pretty much anyone. I've come to know a lot of people here in the short time I've been on this site and I've not met anyone who I'd have a problem playing with so far. World lore is one of my favourite things. Honestly I wished there was more available to us pre-game so I could make my character fit into it but I know you only want so much info available to candidatesrather than chosen players. I understand that I can't explore every point of interest in every location and sometimes the other players, GMs, and just the story requires rapid movement. If I get the opportunity to go back to a location later on when it isn't a rush and can explore, that's nice too. And political intrigue is some of the most interesting stuff ever, big Game of Thrones fan ere. If the other players have no interest, I won't force the issue though. 3. Do you want more of a sandbox or more structured gameplay? Definitely sandbox. I don't mind an outline or framework that guides us, but I like the option to explore and influence the world around me. 4. Do you prefer Roll20 for battles, or would you rather write out most combat? If you prefer Roll20, can you be available to play out battles in a sitting or two to prevent it from becoming an extended affair? I don't mind writing out battles in forum posts but if it helps speed things along my main campaign is a live Roll20 game so I'm used to narrative live games. I'd be available to run a Roll20 battle on any day besides Tuesday or Thursday without extended advanced notice. I'd still need advance notice for any other day, especially a Wednesday, just not as much for Tuesday and Thursday. Like, maybe a week ahead for those two days or Wednesday. For any other day at least 24 hours.

Thank you to everybody who applied. Making the final decision was not easy, and we had a lovely time reading everybody's applications. For me, as a new member of the community, it was exciting to be able to interact with a number of new people in the Discord. Unfortunately, we can't take all 30(!) of our applications into the game. We would like to congratulate the members of our two parties: Group 1 Evandur Underlow the Cleric, played by zenagaAsami Tempest the Weather Witch, played by botduoChester Hexapod the Plagued Doctor, played by VazadGroup 2 Giacomina "Mina" Belladonna the Poison Maiden, played by carnackiArdentVeles Cardona the Leader of the Cons, played by haybalebarnAlduin Gunnarsen the Shaman, played by eltrouWe also have one standby in case of an early drop, which is: Saro ir-Shikari the Beast Hunter, played by technoRomancer Threads will be up within the next 24 hours to give people a chance to get settled and double check over character sheets. Thank you again, everybody! Hope to see you all around.
