Walking directly into town goes... better than Crimson had hoped, actually. They aren't immediately attacked, and it actually seems as if Iwakashi is held with some regard here. Or at least it's race. Unfortunately, that's the best that she can say. Since apparently something has gone on with her own people. What she can gather from the human's proclamation is that some of her kin have been trying to do what she had decided to do upon resurrection. It actually makes her flare with some anger. Insolent whelps, it is not their place. It is to be hers. ...at her core, though, is a little nugget of that feeling that the humans might call 'sulking', that another of her race seems to be on the same path she is on. They will be one to strike down, and she will take their hive. On the one hand... this is all a problem that she has to deal with. On another hand, it does mean that her race still survives. On another hand, though, apparently it's a concern that she's 'unbound'. The opposite of that does not seem to be a good thing, however you look at it. On the last hand... if these humans try to do anything, then they will regret it. Surreptitiously, she probes the mind of the one who spoke, trying to find more about what it had been meaning concerning her race. Focus for Telepathy: 23

Lootbox's sudden reappearance had startled Iwakashi no small amount. He'd been reaching for his mace before fortunately recognizing the mimic's voice. He'd been reaching for his mace to prepare to deal with the unknown threat. Releasing his grip regretfully as he scolds the mimic. "Gah, you need to be more careful Loot...Lute. Surprising your allies can be just as disastrous as stumbling on foe." He waves a hand in mild frustration, "I'd think a thief would know how to call out his relevant actions" Mild rebuke given, Iwakashi focuses on the approaching town. The journey in was mixed. The familiar homes around the town were an almost comforting sight. And the townspeople looked upon him with respect....until they looked upon Crimson and fled. Could he have been mistaken? Or perhaps the fear had always been there and they had hidden it when at arms. The small 'militia' that stood before them was unexpected. They showed some respect even as they bared his path. It was almost impressive. All the same, this was his land. "It is on the surface because I have use for it. Do you think I would danger the people unduly?" He leaves the deadly question hanging in the air for a moment. "I seek what is best for the lands. These companions will help me to accomplish that. Perhaps I have been away too long if this is how the people of Cragspur would treat a weary traveler. Or an Earthenborn." His words drip with scorn. He holds himself tensely as he stares down the woman that seems to be the leader.

Wow! How quickly things went north then far, far south. It's like a season's migration in but a single, miscalculated entrance. There was no salvaging the bard skit. There wasn't a single skit in Lootbox's bag of tricks that would fix this! Not with two travel companions weighing him down at least; this teamwork business was something he'd need to get used to.
"Can we put the pitchforks down please?" Lootbox asked, peeking out from behind Iwakashi. Better to hide behind the saint than what this town deemed a sinner. "No one is taking over anything; let's just sit down and talk for a bit!"
Well... no one is taking over anything CURRENTLY! The villagers' fears were entirely justified, but maybe they could be convinced otherwise.

Crimson's telepathy retrieves a deeply unsettled fear about the woman, and flickers of an imagined conflict between Earthenborn and her own race deep beneath the surface of Cragspur. Though she is resolute, a lifetime of tilling the soil and tending children hasn't strengthened her mind overmuch.
"Away where...?" A hint of suspicion and hesitation. "Have you not stood with your brothers on the front, tween us and them? Not known it and the horrors it will visit upon you and yours?!"
Iwakashi's aggressive posturing overshadows Lutebox's attempts at being inconspicuous, though one of the five does lower their weapon and give him a concerned look.

Crimson sighs internally, and grips her staff tighter. While it's nice to know that her race is not extinct, and that she can soon return to a hive - there is a whelp that she's going to have to confront. This is not how one should go about things. And it's already inconveniencing her. That cannot be abided.
++Find out where this conflict is happening,++ she projects to Iwakashi. ++There is clearly an upstart who needs to be taught a lesson.++ She knows that her asking will likely do no good, and the surface thoughts of the humans are not particularly clear in that regard. Though maybe the rockman asking will bring those thoughts to the forefront.

His people and Crimson's were at war? This was a....troublesome complication. If these peasants were to be believed the threat was dire. And he was traveling with one of the enemy. Iwakashi held himself firm and avoided turning to glance at her warily, even as her buzzing fills his head with words and suggestions. What could he even say that might sate these scared serfs?
He carefully measures his words as he speaks. Hoping to avoid the conflict for the moment. "Where I was is unimportant, at least as far as it concerns you. I left seeking some power that might stop our enemies. My companion's people were hardly an issue then. Much has changed. To be expected, since I likely left before you were born." It was all the truth. Perhaps not the whole of it, but near enough.

Lovely. Just lovely. Two war-bound species traveling hand-in-hand towards a common goal of friendship. Couldn't be a more conspicuous group in the entire continent. Lootbox may as well hang a sign around himself brazenly stating 'KING OF THIEVES', match up with the party.
This war DID come with some pressing concerns, however. How large was the psychic bug kingdom? Valora and Ilusio were by no means neighbors, but rapid expansion could place the mimic's homeland in jeopardy. And, more concerning, the mimic's potentially-recoverable assets. Not that he was expecting to find anything particularly valuable or useful, but the few sentimental pieces that could be recovered from his kingdom's scraps was the only reason this expedition was of any worth.
Best let the two war-birds settle this town situation. Lootbox would do his best to wear an innocent face as to not draw any additional ire.

"You have my apologies honored one, but the vagueness of your statement does not fill me with confidence." The leader glanced between Iwakashi and Crimson again. "Once they have gotten into your head, it is a monumental task to willful freedom again. If you were to fit it with a repression stone, we might find common ground." She fished a leather throng from her bosom, a metallic looking stone pendant swinging from it. To Crimson's eyes, and senses, it is a void of thought, disquieting and offensive in equal measure.

"No." Crimson chitters, spitting out the word as best as her mandibles allow. The stone both disgusts and enrages her. "I will not allow that thing anywhere near myself. You have no idea who or what you are dealing with. I had no quarrel with you. We were simply seeking supplies." Her voice's volume steadily rises as she continues. "I have no connection with those you fight with. You simply assumed. But I am not like them. I am Crimson, Queen of the Hive." Her voice drops low as she feels power surge through her. "And you will feel my wrath."

And there it went. The fire was stoked. There was no going back from here.
"Terribly sorry; what she says goes." Lootbox drew forth his key, summoning minions as backup for the inevitable combat. Stick-ups going wrong was a part of the business; give someone a choice between their money and lives, and a good chunk will be brave enough to try and leave with both. But when the King of Thieves wants a treasure, they often keep neither.
At the very least, the mimic now had an excuse to see how powerful his godly wrath actually was. "Unfortunately, you're going to wish this was but a mere invasion." He called out, tone darkening along with the rest of his shape.

Why does no one listen? He'd tried to hold everything together before the end and they hadn't listened either. Iwakashi didn't understand it. Well perhaps he did. Daichi had always handled people before, while he had handled the warriors. Well, if these villagers couldn't be swayed by words, there were other ways to change a person's mind. They needed to be taught a lesson.
"She is right. You don't know who you are messing with. Perhaps it is better for you that way," Iwakashi slowly unslings his mace, "And perhaps it would be better to listen to your superior when he speaks. My mind is my own." He clenches the grip tight. "Or think you that I have begun to gather Moss?" His face is a scowl as usual but it almost seems like there are more angles to his visage to go with his anger.

The leader visibly sweats as she unslings her hoe, the collective with her hefting weapons and tightening ranks. "You aren't an Earthen at all... not one of ours." She looks sickened, eyes darting between the three figures as their shapes undergo their respective stylized transformations. Lootbox manages to get a soft chortle out of the man who had previously been paying close attention to him. "It's adorable..."

Adorable? Adorable!? How dare a man stare at the face of god himself and call it adorable!!! This is what gods were supposed to look like! Granted, they were a bit smaller than the holy books described, but one does not question the shape and size of the true GOD-DAMN WHAT THE BLAZING HELLS WERE HIS COMPANIONS CHANGING INTO!?!?
Are... are those also gods?
THERE WERE OTHER OPTIONS?

Crimson feel ecstatic as the power flows through her. Now this is what being a god should feel like. The mortals now seem so much smaller. She flexes her claw-hands as she looks them over, admiring the way that the light reflects off of them. This was a form she recognized, that she'd drained the power of, so long ago. ...she hadn't realized that it had only had two hands, though. That's going to take some getting used to. The off-balancing of the rest of the crystalline form, however, it feels rather natural. Peculiar.
Admiring her body more can wait for later, though. There are insolent humans to deal with. She casts her gaze over the villagers in front of her, and then her companions. It seems as if... uh, one of the others had taken on a godly form. Where was the other? Did Lootbox slink off again, or something?
No matter. "You had your chance," she... says? It's weird, she has no mouth, but she can still make sounds? "We had no quarrel with you before. Do you have any last pleas to your gods?" Not that it would probably do them much good, of course. But having her superiority acknowledged, after the last time she dealt with humans... it's a nice thought.

The words were stinging. He'd heard much the same before but that didn't make it any easier. His anger had been growing all the while and this was the tipping point. Iwakashi glares at the small militia, his new goodly face twisting; feeling both strange and natural at the same time. Who were these humans to stand in their way after all?
He didn't pay much mind to his companions forms. Vaugly noticing crimson's jagged new form and the tiny smudge that was Lootbox. He has no idea if their potential but these forms were stolen God's, to underestimate them would be a mistake. His own form was still strange to him as well. Standing on four legs instead of two left him unsteady and the slight breeze ruffling across his hide was unsettling. This body would take some getting used to.
He doesn't say any more. Crimson had covered it well. The time for words was over.

At the display of power, one of the villagers turns heel and flees into the buildings, the remaining four stand stalwart though shaken. The air of power in the city is palpable. The sheer difference in size between Crimson and Necrozma is panicking and the leader sets her stance to prepare a charge. The men at her flanks, one wears a pot helm and wields a spear made from an old rake with a knife bound to the end, and the other carries a section of fencing and a sickle as impromptu sword and shield. The gawker throws a small rock through Lootbox, a pile of them in his other hand.
Iwakashi, then Lootbox.

This would be a simple fight. One of the cowards had already run and the rest of the militia was wavering. Taking out the leader would crush the small flame of defiance that they held. Iwakashi rushes over and slams into the leader. It wasn't the most graceful of blows but it would do. He could feel the power behind it all the same. How great it would be once he could fully contain it. Struggle vs the Leader Ac 3 vs 9 21 Normal Physical damage

Lootbox stared at the rock as it bounced off his head, suddenly incredibly frustrated. "Is that the best you got? Are you MOCKING ME!?"
Forget the heroes; a challenge was not to be disregarded so easily! A stream of darkness trailed behind as Lootbox charged forward, introducing the militiaman to what a REAL weapon looked like!
Lootbox uses Feint Attack! Crit Check (Cannot Miss): 20! (CRITICAL HIT) Damage: 60 Physical Dark Rock Thrower is marked by Fortress, and takes a -5 accuracy to any opponent besides Lootbox until the end of his next turn.

The shield bearing peasant moves to intercept Iwakashi's blow, raising his shield with surprisingly practiced motions and turning what would be quite an impact into a glancing blow, steeling himself for subsequent attacks. The spear hurts as it cracks off of some of Crimson's crystalline body, but she's not about to give the other the satisfaction of knowing that. "You made a mistake," she says, gesturing to call forth Viridian from her bracelet. "I hope it satisfies you in your last moments." She glows, building up power to release, as she signals Viridi to strike the same impudent person. Crimson releases Viridian as a Shift. She uses Silver wind on the peasant who attacked her. 19 vs AC2. 24 Special Bug damage, and +1 CS to all stats.
Viridian uses Confusion on the same target. 4 vs AC2, for 35 Special Psychic damage.
