It's only been two weeks since you applied to The Mega League. The application started by filling out several forms online. Afterwards you were asked to come to a facility, where they you would undergo medical and physical examination. And then there was the interview with what you believed to be some sort of psychologist. On the TV, you could hear nothing other than Mega League this and Mega League that. People became obsessed with how it would turn out, and what it would be exactly. But the flow of information was being kept really secretive. There was tons of speculation who would be in it. You could even take bets on who you think would be the participants in The Mega League. It became a true TML-bonanza. You are all at home, when suddenly the door bell rings. It's hard to pay attention to it, since you were clustered to your TV as the reporters started gathering at airports. Along with them, hundreds and hundreds of people. All dying to see their favorite trainers embark on the TML journey. You're also starting to feel a little stress. Does this mean you're not chosen for the adventure then? You haven't heard a thing about it. You wanna know so badly, but there's someone at the door. Your sense of decency outweighs your sense of curiosity, and you go to answer the door. An older man stands before you patiently, and bows. He's holding out a box without saying a word. Behind the man is a limousine parked at the side of the road. It's a bit strange, but you immediately recognize the symbol that's on the box. It's the Mega Evolve symbol. Your hands can't move quickly enough to open it. Inside it's laced with a velvet fabric that feels super soft, and there's a card. You open it, and it has a simple sentence on it. This limousine is your first step on what will be a great journey. I look forward to meet you.
Gardari The man walks towards the vehicle, and holds open a door for you.

static.zerochan.net/Aomine.Daiki.full.1813169.jpg http A young man wearing a plain white t shirt and black jeans was lounging on an exquisite fancy sofa so large it stretched from one corner of the expansive living room to another, forming an L shape, in the center of which a coffee table was located. It was colored in a dark maroon and had red and black cushions lining its surface. Above, a chandelier hung from the ceiling. Sitting in the middle of the sofa, Vincent was situated in front of a large plasma television screen fixed to a beige wall and under which a fireplace was placed. Next to him sat a small bag of unknown content. The television screen was far away enough that Vincent required his glasses to make out anything on the screen, such was the size of the room and the space it held. Though Vincent seemed relaxed, he was actually rather anxious as he followed the news on the Mega League. Man... I wish they would just tell me if I made it in or not. This waiting is hellish, he thought. He closed his eyes, lying against the back of the sofa. He recalled that majestic looking Lucario using the power of Fusion and then tried to imagine what Calypso would look like, perhaps fused with Apollon's Mega Houndoom form or Ivory, Vincent's Sharpedo's - named for her terrifying teeth - Mega form. He would get all giddy and energized, as if someone was running a current through his body. He was well and truly excited, like he had never been excited before. Vincent opened his eyes again locking eyes with the female news reporter currently displayed on the television screen. The news had been reruns of information about the Mega League for the last hour. No new information had gotten in and all they knew was that everyone else didn't know anything either. Vincent had to give it to Gardari. It wasn't often that one could see the news stations of Hoenn, famous for being fearless and ready to dive into the most dangerous places for info on Trainers or Pokemon, so utterly unknowing. Vincent resigned himself to watching more re-runs of the same story when someone rang the door bell. For a moment, Vincent almost wanted to keep watching the re-runs just in case any new information came in, but then he reigned in his curiosity and got up to the front door and pressed the button that would open the gates. He then waited a while for whoever it was to cross the distance from the gate to the front door. He didn't have to wait for too long before there was second ring of the door bell, a different melody this time. Vincent promptly opened the door. "Roth residence. How can I help you?" He asked, politely, but with little energy in his voice, the words coming out in a bored monotone. A well dressed elderly man stood before him. The man didn't say anything, instead holding out a box. Vincent's eyes widened. He would recognize the symbol on that box anywhere. That was the Mega Evolve symbol! Excitedly he asked, "Could this be- Have I been accepted?!"The man didn't reply, as if waiting for something. Finally getting the cue which he had missed in his excitement, Vincent took the box and opened it. He quickly read the contents before going still. Then there was an explosion of movement as the young man fist pumped, shouting "Yes!"As the man retreated to his parked vehicle and held open the door, Vincent checked that he had everything he needed. "Give me one moment," he said with more energy in his voice this time, as he ran to the sofa to pick up his bag. It contained all the things that Vincent had thought he might need if he was accepted. The most important thing though was of course strapped to his belt; Calypso's Pokéball. After a moment of thought, he also remembered to get his favorite black, hooded jacket from a coat hanger. He spared a thought to his team, which was currently in the capable hands of a Pokemon Caretaker that Vincent had hired. He had assumed that he would be given entry - Vincent could be arrogant like that - and prepared beforehand, telling himself that even if he didn't get into the League, his Pokemon deserved a break anyway. He quickly got out and locked the door behind him, using the smart phone he retrieved from his bag - that had been an expensive purchase, but he had managed to get one of the pieces of technology - to send his father a message. "Got accepted to the Mega League! When I see you again, I'll be the next Fusion Trainer!"He made his way to the waiting Limousine and got in. Vincent was so excited he struggled with the seat belt, before deciding that it wasn't needed. He pulled out the single Pokéball with him and looked at it before whispering, "This is the beginning of something great, Cal. You better be ready to give it your all from now on." He grinned roguishly as he said the last part.

Dunstan Seneca flipped his TV away from the Mega League coverage with a grimace. He couldn't take the suspense. He had to admit that the intense application process was probably worthwhile, considering the hype surrounding the League and the potential power of Fusion that the winner would get. You couldn't have someone like that Cyrus nut from Sinnoh getting that sort of power, or, for that matter, airtime. But the review process meant that two weeks of an almost total lack of concrete information was a horrific anticlimax.
"He may be a legend, but I wish Gardari could send a rejection letter like a normal - oof!" "Oof" is the sort of sound one makes when one's lap is suddenly filled a Sneasel, delivered by ballistic means. Jack had decided to dive-bomb Dunstan. Not unusual, but somewhat uncomfortable. He ruffled the Sneasel's short fur between his ears. "You have got to stop doing that, Jack. Look, I almost missed the opening."
As it happened, he'd changed the channel entirely by muscle memory and managed to flip onto a rerun of his own show. His own voice spoke as a silhouette of a long neck with dramatic, jagged frills filled the screen. "... My name is Dunstan Seneca, and I Dig Fossils!"
The owner of said silhouette muscled her way into the room, lowering her head to step through the doorway. Dunstan was thankful the show brought in enough money to maintain a house with doors large enough for an Aurorus, because he could barely imagine living with Yvaine outside or in her Pokéball all the time. She'd been by his side for a couple of decades now; he wasn't going to stop that just because she was too big to be an indoor Pokémon these days. Besides, even Pewter City was a little on the warm side for Aurorus, and if Yvaine spent all her time outside she'd become a tourist attraction.
"And you'd love it, too," he remarked aloud, reaching up to rub her nose affectionately. Yvaine didn't know where that had come from - she'd only come in to watch what she always viewed as her show - but she wasn't going to turn down a nose-rub. She snorted as quietly as a quarter-ton sauropod could and tipped her head to make sure he got up between where her sails started as she watched the TV over his shoulder. Shame wasn't really in Yvaine's vocabulary. The Dunstan on TV was saying, "... visiting Mt. Moon, right outside of Pewter City, one of the most famous fossil beds in the world. Mt. Moon is mostly soft, sedimentary rock, which means caves..."
He looked up in surprise as the doorbell rang, and put a hand down on Jack's head instinctively, not wanting the Sneasel to rush the door. "I've got it, thanks. Wonder who that could be?"
Whatever he was expecting to be on the other side of the door, it certainly wasn't this well-dressed man silently holding out a box. Dunstan's eyes traced the symbol on the lid of the box, and his questions died on his tongue. "So does this mean...?" He reached out to open the box, almost tentatively, and his eyes widened as he read the card. A broad grin spread across his lips - Dunstan wasn't an incredibly demonstrative person, but he felt like jumping up and down and shouting "YES!" That would hardly be dignified, though.
"Excuse me for just one moment," he called to the chauffeur, ducking back inside. He hugged Yvaine around the base of her neck enthusiastically. "We got accepted! Next stop, Mega Island!" A tap of a button sent Yvaine disappearing into her Pokéball. He made a quick round to say goodbye to his other Pokémon - Nessie the Lapras and Axel the Omanyte, both residing in the big pool out back most of the time - and gave his parents an excited call. They only lived on the other side of the city, so they could look in on Nessie, Axel, and Jack while he was gone. Luckily, Dunstan could pack a bag for a somewhat long trip in his sleep at this point in his life, so it wasn't much longer until he was sitting in the limousine and on his way to the Mega League. He tapped the Key Stone on his pith helmet for luck. "Let's knock 'em back to the stone age."

While most people across the world couldn't tear themselves away from the news, trying to find out as much as they could about The Mega League, in Kalos there was one trainer who couldn't care less about the news. At a small home in Kiloude City, Nikolas was training with Faye, learning everything he could about her new Mega Evolution. He saw no point in relaxing before The Mega League, especially having just recently discovered her Mega Evolution. Nikolas did not have any of his other pokemon with him, having left them with his father. He had given him instructions on training his pokemon, he didn't want his pokemon to go soft but he did believe they earned some relaxation, and so he made the training light and asked that he would let them watch The Mega League so they could support Nikolas.
Having finished his training for the day Nikolas could find nothing to do but pace in his small home. He wasn't worried about getting into The Mega League, at least that's what he told himself. "Alright Nikolas relax you are definitely getting into The Mega League, there's no way you didn't get in. I mean you're the most recent winner of the Kalos league, not to mention you took down a Mega Charizard with a Vileplume, even he couldn't pull something like that off. ... COME ON WHAT'S TAKING SO LONG!" Faye motioned for Nikolas to calm down, pointing to various broken parts of the home as a reminder of what happens if Nikolas lets his anger get the best of him. "Yeah I know Faye, I just can't take this waiting much longer. But it will all be worth it when we're leading The Mega League, on our way to achieving the next Fusion. Imagine it Faye! You and Spike, (Nikolas' Venasaur) fused to create the most powerful grass type pokemon ever seen. I can only imagine what yours and Spike's flower's will look like fused." Faye gives a nod of approval to that idea of Fusion, already being close friends with Spike, Nikolas' second pokemon.
After a moment of calm silence as Nikolas and Faye imagined how everything will change after The Mega League, Nikolas couldn't help but begin to pace again as he looked at his pokedex and checked the time. Anxious Nikolas started tapping his shield against the ground but that tapping became rapid tapping and soon became anxious banging. "Come on come on come on come on come on....COME ON ALREADY! As he was tapping there was a ringing every few seconds that Nikolas had ignored, mostly because of his anxiety. Soon the ringing became frequent and then was joined by a knocking. "GAAAH! KNOCK IT OFF!" Nikolas yelled as he slammed his shield into the front door with a loud bang causing the ringing and knocking to stop before he gained a look of realization and quickly opened the door.
"Nikolas Henan, how can I- HOLY CRAP!" Seeing the box in the old man's hands Nikolas grabbed it and quickly opened it and read the letter within. "YES I KNEW IT! FAYE GRAB MY BAG WE'RE GOING TO THE MEGA LEAGUE!" Faye cheered as she grabbed his backpack off of his couch and the two hugged. Nikolas pulled out his pokedex and recorded a quick video with Faye. "Hey dad make sure when you watch this let all of my pokemon out and watch it with them. Ahem! Hey guys Nikolas and Faye here, we heading the Mega League and we're going to make sure we give it our all so you better give it your all in your training. Who knows if there's another Mega League I might take one of you instead of Faye! Wish us luck!" Faye gave him a look of betrayal as he hugged her. "Relax Faye I was only kidding, or was I?" Nikolas winked, they both knew this kind of challenge required a bond that only Nikolas and Faye had.
The old man at his door had walked to a limousine and had been holding the door open as he recorded the video and was now coughing impatiently. Nikolas and Faye quickly got into the limo as the man closed the door and got into the driver's seat. "Alright sir, to The Mega League, and step on it! The old man rolled his eyes as the separator between the front and back went up. "Alright Faye this is it, from now one, it's just you and me. Now let's show the world who the Real Legendary Trainer is.

The ride to the airports takes a while. The limousine has a variety of snacks and beverages in a mini fridge. The window that connects you and the driver is blacked out, so you can't see or talk to him. As you get closer to the airports in your region, the traffic starts worsening. And when the limo finally reaches its destination, you understand why. Every single parking spot is occupied. When the limo pulls up to the lot, camera's start targeting you like heatseeking missiles. The limousine gets permission to drive onto the tarmac. And that's where you can see the immense swarm of people. They are all there to root for their favorite trainer. The swarm is being held back by professionally by a team of Jenny's.
The car stops and the driver stays inside. But the door lock-buttons jump up. I guess that's your cue to go. Out of your window, you can spot a red carpet that runs up all the way to a huge airplane with the Mega Evolve logo on it. All of the spectators have their eyes fixated on your limousine. The reporters keep a respectable distance to let you get out of the car, but you can see their muscles tensing to fling a microphone in front of your face.

During the duration of the limousine’s journey, Calypso had been released from her Pokéball and she spent the time taking in the sights of the Hoenn region while snacking on sweets found in the mini fridge of the vehicle. The mischievous Pokémon had a bit of a sweet tooth. The extra energy she got from the sweets had always been a boon in battle and so Vincent had always been all too happy to oblige it.
Eventually though the sights were reduced to that of other vehicles on the road as the traffic became worse and worse. With a disappointed sigh, Calypso sat back into one of the seats.
“Not what you expected to see huh?” Vincent chuckled. “With the hype for the Mega League at its peak, it’s no wonder that traffic would get this bad,” he said, patting Calypso’s head comfortingly. The Pokémon leant into the Trainer’s hand, enjoying the treatment with closed eyes.
Eventually, the limo reached its destination. The lock buttons went up and Vincent took that as his cue to get out. “Thanks for the ride,” he drawled to the driver, before opening the doors, and getting out of the long vehicle, Calypso right behind him.
As per habit, Vincent stuffed his hands into the pockets of his jacket, making confident strides down the red carpet. From both sides they were assaulted by noise, cheers and questions. Vincent knew how to deal with the media, he’d had to do so when he was inaugurated as Mauville City’s newest Gym Leader. There had also been a sizable audience to his battle with Sidney of the Elite Four, so being surrounded by fans was nothing new to him.
As Vincent walked down the carpet, he was followed by news reporters every step of the way, but he stayed silent. If Vincent was honest, he didn’t care much for the media and even less for the countless strangers cheering for him. Still, he appreciated the encouragements that he could hear and when he got to the end of the red carpet he turned.
For a moment he just took in the crowd with Calypso by his side. There were countless people there, but at the front of the mass of people he managed to spot one pretty blonde dressed in black; Sam. Vincent was shocked. She came all the way here to support me? He thought. Then he spoke into the microphones that were placed in front of him by various representatives of news channels.
“People of Hoenn! Fellow Residents of Mauville City –” There was a cheer from those residents and more shouts of encouragement. He could see Sam smiling. “- I am Vincent Roth, former Gym Leader of Mauville City and soon to be Fusion Trainer!” another cheer rose up. “Thank you for your support!”
That was tiring. I hate speaking to crowds, Vincent thought to himself. Vincent took one more moment to look Sam in the eye. She waved him goodbye, and he turned together with Calypso and soon afterwards was walking up the stairs to the airplane.

Nikolas opens the limo door and confidently steps out with Faye, waving to the crowd as he slowly walked down the red carpet. It was quite recent that he had seen this kind of crowd, about a month or so ago at the Kalos League.
It was the around the semifinals when the crowd was decisively divided on who they wanted to win. With only three other trainers, a sizable portion of the crowd favored Nikolas to win, and they weren't afraid to show it. Incredible applause, signs with his name on it, cheers throughout the stands. At first he didn't know how to react to this sort of thing, but then he remembered that he had earned this, his spot in the Kalos League, these fans, his strength, all on his own. After he realized this Nikolas quickly began to enjoy it, so much so as to occasionally give the crowd a show with his pokemon. Nikolas was no coordinator, but he did dabble in contests on rare occasions, and he had seen enough on t.v. to know some stunts.
So Nikolas and Faye walked down the red carpet, waving to the crowd, enjoying the attention. As they did Nikolas whispered to Faye, "Hey Faye, what do you say we give them a bit of a show?" to which Faye nodded.
As the two reached the end of the red carpet they both turned to face the crowd, proudly standing. Nikolas held his shield in one hand as he exclaimed, "HELLO EVERYBODY!! My name is Nikolas Henan, Kalos League Champion, soon to be Mega League Champion, and future Fusion Trainer. Thank you all for coming out today! Now here's a little peek at what you'll be seeing during The Mega League! Ready Faye?" Faye nodded as she prepared a Moonblast from the top of her large flower and shot it straight into the air and a second or two later jumped as high as she could, landing on Nikolas' shield, held with one hand flat above his head, before he threw his arm up and Faye jumped, launching her into the air as she spun firing off a Bullet Seed that hit the Moonblast causing it to burst and a shower of sparkles to cover the crowd as Nikolas caught Faye. The pair bowed before walking up and into the airplane. As he entered the plane Nikolas couldn't help but wonder for a brief moment if this is how his brother felt when it came to fame.

In contrast to most of the other probably competitors, Dunstan wasn't used to crowds quite like this. Sure, he had his share of fans, but he'd hosted an educational TV show for a couple years, he wasn't a massive star like a Gym Leader or a Champion. And most of his fans were under the age of fifteen. It was one thing to know the entire world was hanging on every word of coverage about the Mega League - it was another to step out of that limousine into a wall of sound.
He adjusted his helmet hurriedly as he stepped out onto the carpet. Once the cameras and microphones were on him, though, he found it a little easier to momentarily shut the roaring crowd out and focus on those instead. "Well, I'm no Gym Leader, but... oh, all right, I know everyone is expecting me to say it." He grinned at the cameras. "My name is Dunstan Seneca, and I dig fossils!"
He let the scattering of laughter die down for a moment. Everyone always wanted him to say the catchphrase. "Seriously, I'm excited to be here. I'm amazed I was chosen, but now that I have been, I'm certainly going to do my best to be the next Fusion Trainer. After all, I can't let all those champions show me up that easily, can I?"
He pulled out a Pokéball from his belt. Yvaine wasn't really the right size for riding in the limo or on the plane, but he could at least let her have the red carpet walk. "There's someone else who's excited to be here, too. If I could have a clear space for her?"
Once the reporters parted enough to not get trampled, he released Yvaine. The appearance of a massive Mega Aurorus caused quite a stir among those who hadn't done enough research on Dunstan to get a good idea of what Yvaine looked like. Yvaine reared her head up and gave a trumpeting cry as she fired an Aurora Beam into the sky, her sails rippling with color. An icy mist swirled around her feet, giving her slow, elegant steps the impression of gliding on air. Dunstan walked alongside her to the plane, his hand on her flank. He turned and paused at the end, waiting for her signal - Yvaine always had better instincts for showmanship than him.
She let out another cry and cracked her tail like a whip before lowering her head to him. Only then did he call her back into her Pokéball. He waved to the crowd one last time before ascending the steps into the plane.

NikolasThe crowd goes wild the second you walk out of that door. A champion of Kalos is bound to have his share of fans. Your little stunt with Faye, along with your heroic claims, make them go insane. The cheering becomes so loud, that it's hard to make out what they're shouting anymore. Until someone instigates a good old fashioned name-faming. "Nikolas Nikolas Nikolas Nikolas Nikolas Nikolas Nikolas Nikolas Nikolas Nikolas Nikolas Nikolas Nikolas!"You get goosebumps by the amount of support this crowd is giving you. With one final look back, you see that they all have their hands up while they're all still cheering your name. Aboard the aircraft, you can see a large group of unknown people sitting to your right in second class. But you are ushered to the left, to get to first class. You enter first class from behind, so you can't really make out many of the Trainer's identities from the back. Your baggage is taken care of by a flight attendant, and you take your seat next to a large man in a blue jacket. It takes you a few seconds to realize that it's Wulfric, Kalos' Ice Gym Leader. He gives you a polite nod, and gets back to reading his book. The aircraft takes off and Nikolas starts to feel the tension in the room. Everyone has their headphones on, and seem rather set on being on their own. Wulfric is deep into his novel. After a few hours, a sound from the intercom intros the captain. "Good morning, this is your captain speaking. We are arriving in Unova, Mistralton City. Please turn off your electronic devices as we approach for landing." VincentVincent steps out of the car, and the crowd goes a little silent. They're all talking and whispering amongst themselves. They know he's a rather mysterious guy, and they wonder what he's going to do. The crowd as the utmost respect for one of their domestic Gym Leaders though. So they are all excited to see what he'll say. Most of them expect him to just walk past without saying a word, so everyone's really surprised when Vincent takes up the mic. After his words, there's an explosion of joy. Someone in the crowd instigates a good old fashioned name-faming. "Vincent Vincent Vincent Vincent Vincent Vincent Vincent Vincent Vincent Vincent Vincent Vincent Vincent!"You get goosebumps by the amount of support this crowd is giving you. Your baggage is taken care of by a flight attendant, and you take your seat next to a small boy. It takes you a few seconds to realize that it's Tate, Hoenn's Psychic Gym Leader (along with Liza). The aircraft takes off and Vincent starts to feel the tension in the room. Everyone has their headphones on, and seem rather set on being on their own. Tate is watching some sort of cartoon you've never heard of. After a few hours, a sound from the intercom intros the captain. "Good morning, this is your captain speaking. We are arriving in Unova, Mistralton City. Please turn off your electronic devices as we approach for landing." DunstanAs you first get out of the car, the crowd goes wild because of the anticipation of seeing a new Trainer. Then they realize it's 'that guy from the kids show', and the enthusiasm drops a little. But then you get to the mic, and the crowd is eating it all up. They are starting to love their underdog tv personality that will challenge these battle veterans that are Gym Leaders and regional Champions. And when you let out Aurorus, they actually start believing that you've got a good chance too. Someone in the crowd instigates a good old fashioned name-faming. "Dunstan Dunstan Dunstan Dunstan Dunstan Dunstan Dunstan Dunstan Dunstan Dunstan Dunstan Dunstan Dunstan!"You get goosebumps by the amount of support this crowd is giving you. Your baggage is taken care of by a flight attendant, and you take your seat next to a bald man with a white mustache, wearing sunglasses. It takes you a few seconds to realize that it's Blaine, Kanto's Fire Gym Leader. It's hard to see where he looks with those sunglasses, but he seems trying to figure out how the tv screen works. The aircraft takes off and Dunstan starts to feel the tension in the room. Everyone has their headphones on, and seem rather set on being on their own. Blaine is now watching a documentary about volcanic activity. After a few hours, a sound from the intercom intros the captain. "Good morning, this is your captain speaking. We are arriving in Unova, Mistralton City. Please turn off your electronic devices as we approach for landing."

The slightest beginnings of a smile grew on Vincent’s face as he remembered the red carpet walk. Not because of the applause and name-faming, no, but because one of the people he cared for the most had been there to support him.
Vincent’s demeanor quickly evened out again as he took his seat. There was a kid sitting next to it, whom Vincent recognized as Tate, who along with Liza was Gym Leader of Mossdeep City's Gym specializing in Psychic-types. Vincent had made short work of them on his path through the League Circuit. It was unfortunate for the twin pair that Vincent specialized in a type that was completely immune to Psychic attacks. After that, they had become co-workers as Vincent became a Gym Leader himself. To be completely honest, Vincent had found the kids' personality too much trouble to deal with, although he respected the strength of their Pokemon. With this past history in mind, he offered the young prodigy a nod and a "Hello," which were the least that the boy deserved, glancing at the cartoon the boy was watching as he did so.
Idly he wondered whether it was a good show, but didn’t feel the need to ask. Sometimes life was more interesting when you let little mysteries such as that remain. The fact that Vincent also couldn't find it in himself to care enough to ask also had something to do with his lack of action.
Vincent took a look around, trying to spy as much of other Trainers as he could, to get a measure of what would be his competition, but who was he kidding, he had always been terrible at being perceptive. When he focused on a single target he could infer basic ideas, but in a plane surrounded by Trainers, the majority of which he couldn’t actually see due to having come in from the back? It was very unlikely that Vincent would get any information by people watching.
Perhaps that was the intention of coming in from the back and of the general seating arrangement, which placed everyone on the left side of the plane, Vincent realized. Satisfied with having figured that out, Vincent leaned back into his seat.
Vincent thought for a moment on what he wanted to do to pass the time, before he reached for his bag and pulled out his smart phone.
He opened a video file. Vincent had had all of his Gym Battles recorded ever since he started. He often watched these to look for mistakes and areas in which he can improve, and that is what he was doing in now as he critically observed a battle between a non-Mega Form Calypso and a Gallade.
Eventually an announcement was made, concerning electronic devices. It seemed the plane is landing soon. Vincent sighed struggling to pull himself away from the notes he has been making. He returned both the smartphone and the small notebook into his bag and leaned into his seat once more, waiting for the arrival.
We’re landing in Unova? Vincent wondered, surprised. He had expected to be landing on Mega Island. Perhaps we’re catching another plane, he reasoned.

Dunstan's still a bit shell-shocked by the attention. Usually Yvaine gets a lot more recognition than he does - despite the hat - and in any case if a crowd's chanting his name it's usually smaller... and higher pitched. He can't help but grin slightly dazedly when he turns to see all the people still yelling for him.
He blames that shock for why it takes him a moment to recognize Blaine once he takes his seat. After all, Dunstan's a Cinnabar expatriate himself, no matter how long it's been since he went to Pewter City. He nods respectfully to the Gym Leader, but since Blaine doesn't seem to be interested in conversation, Dunstan settles into his own seat, his helmet on his lap. He doesn't often get to fly first class... For that matter, he doesn't usually fly on commercial airliners at all - when he flies, it's usually to a dig site, in a cargo plane with a whole team and all the equipment needed to spend days in the wilderness searching for and extracting fossils.
Now that he has time to consider it, he has to wonder if seating them all in first class, where they had to enter from the back, was intentional. Not being able to see much of the other competitors, aside from the one he's sitting next to, would certainly preserve the mystery a little longer, and so far the whole Mega League apparatus has seemed to be trying to be as mysterious as possible. Dunstan has to wonder if there's a purpose to it, or if it's just one of Gardari's idiosyncrasies, like that armor of his. A lot of skilled trainers seem to be rather eccentric... Then again, that's coming from the man who dresses for a safari wherever he goes, he observes wryly to himself. Even if it is just for publicity.
Since no one seems to be talking much, Dunstan finds a show for himself, a nature documentary focusing on Unova's Desert Resort and the Pokémon that live there. He looks up in surprise when the captain announces a landing - not least because he'd been expecting the plane to take them directly to Mega Island, not to Unova. As he slips off his headphones, he murmurs, "Why Mistralton?" Not that he really expects an answer. That's what happens when he's not called to get on the flight until they're already filming the plane, he supposes.

Nikolas' nods to Wolfric, remembering the hard fight on his way to the Kalos League. In fact most gym leader battles were tough considering Nikolas favored Grass Type pokemon. He couldn't really explain why, he was just naturally drawn towards grass types. Maybe it was that they have been seen to be combined with just about every other type known so far, maybe it was their wide variety of uses from powerful physical or special attacks, various status moves that can buff or tear down defenses, or moves that slowly chip away at their opponents, or maybe Nikolas just liked them. He couldn't tell you. It's because of this that Nikolas knows going against the Elite Four will be tough since half resist and half are weak to grass.
Unsure if he should ask about the book he's reading or comment on their fight or the Kalos League, Nikolas decided to let him read as he pulled out a small music player and headphones and looked out the window, listening to music. Nikolas usually traveled far distances on his Tropius, Bebop, rather than planes, trains, or automobiles.
I still can't believe this is actually happeni- Nikolas' thoughts were interrupted as the plane took off and Nikolas was reminded why he flew Air Bebop as he suddenly felt extremely ill as he ran to the bathroom like a Lillipup with Run Away. A few minutes and a few knocks from other passengers later Nikolas was feeling slightly better and had returned to his seat. Ugh they couldn't just have everybody meet at Mistralton City? Freaking Gardari... Nikolas thought as he returned to listening to music, his stomach having calmed down and adjusted.
Having nothing better to do, other than looking out the window with the off chance of seeing something on the wing of the plane, Nikolas decided to listen to some music and get some rest. A few hours later he woke up from something tapping him, but he tried to ignore it and continued to sleep but the tapping persisted. Resigned Nikolas stared out the window in thought, listening to music. It seems like Gym Leaders will be here...I wonder who else is in this, maybe some Elite Four? Maybe I'll see Erika or Ramos here, that would be cool. Maybe I should think about becoming a Gym Leader or maybe even a member of Kalos' Elite Four...But then I'd have to stay in one place...it wouldn't be that bad, at least not after a become the champion of the other regions...but the point of being a Gym Leader is to be beaten and your badge earned...I think I'll just stick to the Pokemon League...
Meanwhile as Nikolas' train of thought went on, the tapping continued becoming harder until it became somebody grabbing and slightly shaking his shoulder. It was then Nikolas realized what was going on and looked to the source of the tapping and saw an annoyed stewardess who informed him that they were landing and that he needed to turn off his electronics, which he did with a semi-apologetic bow.

Your airplanes land one by one in Mistralton. You all try to look left and right to identify the other trainers, but you get ushered at a fast pace out of the aircraft. When you get out, there's an even bigger mass to be seen. There are helicopters flying around, filming the whole event. Camera crews are stationed on the ground, with a few mobile camera guys capturing different angles. There is a large opening that the trainers walk through, while the crowds stand on both sides cheering. The pathway leads up to a ginormous zeppelin. There's no platform for individual speeches here. It's just too loud, and too overwhelming. All you can do is walk down the path and waive at the people who gathered here in Unova to experience the event (similar to what happens at the start of the Olympics). When you board the zeppelin, you are instructed to keep your Pokémon in their Pokéballs at all times when aboard. A failure to abide by these rules will result in a disqualification of the trainer. The inside of the zeppelin is all state of the art. It has beautifully designed architecture, mixed with modern tech features. A hostess gives you all an electronic key, and instructs you that you can unpack there and start your acclimation. You're also informed that a monitor in your room will let you know when you are expected in the Conference Room.

As Vincent was ushered from the plane, hands back in their rightful place of his jacket’s pockets, he tried to identify trainers in the mass of people that surrounded him, but there was simply no time.
Still, if he couldn’t get a good look at the trainers, he would at least try and remember the scenery, and so he took in the camera crews all around and craned his neck a little to follow the movements of the helicopter.
He soon got bored of sight-seeing though and the loud noise and cheers didn’t make for the most peaceful experience. So instead he stared forward, keeping his eyes on the prize so to say. He mostly ignored the people cheering at the side of the walk and focused instead on the massive zeppelin in front of him.
The quiet young man had a little experience with planes from having been taken along on one of his mother’s holidays once – and then never again, as if she had forgotten about him – but he had never been on a zeppelin. This might just be fun, Vincent thought as his took in the imposing sight of the giant flying carriage.
As soon as he boarded, the former Gym Leader was instructed to keep his Pokémon in her ball. That was no problem as the young man had already recalled Calypso during the airplane flight. Calypso wasn’t a Pokémon that enjoyed being in the air for long periods by any means and so she would be very happy to sit this journey out too.
Vincent received an electronic key from a hostess with a polite “Thank you,” and then went to where he had been informed his room would be. As he walked there, Vincent took in the magnificent architecture of the zeppelin. This zeppelin is pretty cool, Gardari knows how to travel in style he thought, somewhat amazed by the technology he could see.
Eventually he reached his room. He quickly unpacked his things as instructed and looked around. If we’re unpacking here, I suppose that means we’re meant to stay here a while. Does that mean this zeppelin will be our home on Mega Island? Vincent pondered a little to himself. He simply didn’t want to unpack and then have to pack up his things again at a later date.
Eventually he shrugged and sat down on the bed that was situated near the middle of the room. While he was waiting for the monitor to show him that he had to leave for the Conference Room, the Dark-type specialist decided to pass the time by making more notes on his gym battles. The more prepared he was mentally for the battles that would come, the better. One could never be too prepared, Vincent reasoned.

Nikolas waved to the crowd as he was ushered with the other trainers. He tried to see if he recognized any trainers, but none stood out. He wasn't sure if just couldn't see them, or if they didn't make it in. It didn't really matter. What mattered was that he made it into The Mega League, and he was going to win it.
Upon seeing the zeppelin Nikolas stopped for a moment, feeling slightly ill. Oh Arceus, Gardari! What in the Distortion World is this? Nikolas thought as he wondered how he could be related to somebody this crazy.
Nikolas put up a small fight when told that Faye had to stay in her pokeball. He didn't like keeping any of his pokemon in their pokeballs, so normally he'd travel with a small mob of Grass Type pokemon, only returning them to their pokeballs when absolutely necessary. Both he and his pokemon enjoyed both bright sunny days and calm rainy days, normally traveling even in rain. His pokemon found nourishment in the bright warm sun and the cool rain, Nikolas found both conditions calming; the sun, warm and nice, and the rain, cool and calm.
Resigning to follow the rules he kept Faye in her pokeball as he went to his room and unpacked, believing this wouldn't be long he only unpacked a small portion of what he brought, and pulled out his phone.
"Hey guys Nikolas here. So they huddled us all on this huge zeppelin in Mistralton City. I swear Gardari is freaking crazy. I think all that fame's gone to his head. Hope you guys are well, just wanted to check in and let you all know we're both alright. Wish us luck!" Nikolas said as he filmed himself, walking around the room a bit even showing a shot out the window. Alright, and send. as he sent his father and his pokemon the video.
Alright, now what? Nikolas thought as he paced in the room before deciding to take a nap while waiting for them to call him to the Conference Room.

Dunstan really was starting to suspect that their inability to identify their competitors was deliberate. First the planes, boarded as they were, and now being rushed through disembarking and through the screaming crowds toward... the giant zeppelin? Oh...kay. I'll say this for Gardari, the man can put on a show. He gazed up at the massive ship in slight shock, seeing just how hugely it loomed above them as they boarded.
He supposed keeping their Pokémon in their balls made sense - not that he'd planned to let Yvaine out of hers in an enclosed area smaller than a gym in any case. But it did at least prevent them trying to get an early battle in with any of their competitors, which could have been unsafe on the zeppelin in any case despite its size. Dunstan didn't know a whole lot about architecture, but he had to admire the way whoever designed the zeppelin had blended the amenities with the style of the vessel.
He set his bag down on the bed and looked around his stateroom curiously. With cabins like this, just how far was it to Mega Island? Was this going to be a multi-day flight? He rather wanted to explore the ship, but since the call to the Conference Room was apparently going to come through the monitor in his room, he decided he'd better stay put until he was called for. Maybe there'd be time to explore - and finally scope out the competition a little - later.
