Solomon, unwound? To say the least, it was baffling, but... It seemed as though both their teams had their surprises... And complications. It was almost enough to make one wonder.
Unfortunately, that explanation seemed to carry a heavy assumption. Or several. To the first, Thoron asked, "Ooh? Leaving aside the idea of a... Less tense Solomon, do you know what having an older sibling is like?" With a frown, he added, "I do not. At least, not first-hand."

Silas
"You're attributing to us capabilities that we just don't have," Cain says, shaking his head. "Believe me, if there were a way to do it that didn't involve this, I'd be all over it. But, I've been told finesse is not easy when it comes to psychic intrusion. It's why it's far, far easier to destroy than rebuild."
"When the procedure happens," he continues, "Would you like to be the first one to talk to her, after she wakes up? Not only should that help assuage fears of 'trading puppeteers'... well, you're also her closest relative we have, even if she doesn't know it."
Thoron
"I do." Skylar says, darkly. "And, believe me, you should be happy you didn't have anyone like him in your life. Good riddance, I say. My life is much better from outside of his shadow. And reach." He glances at his Golett, before muttering, "I'd like to see him try something now..."

"Is that so...?" Thoron mused, somewhat surprised by the sudden hostility.
"Say, Kempton... Skylar? Have you named that one yet?" Gesturing to his first acquisition (or at least, its pokeball), he continued, "I have. Lowe, my first Pokemon."

Silas makes a bitter expression at Cain's summary of psychic power. Of course humans would find destruction easiest, especially humans that have spent their lives toying with other people's thoughts. When he receives the offer to see Lethe, Silas nods without hesitation. "Of course I'll be there. What kind of recovery process should we expect?"

Silas
"I'll be honest and say that I have no idea," Cain says. "We're going to try and do the procedure tomorrow, and then keep her sedated for a few days to just try and let her brain sort itself out. It's highly atypical, but we're trying to ease it as best as we can." He shakes his head. "There's really nothing more that I can tell you, at least not right now. Is there anything else you were wanting to talk about?"
Thoron
Skylar pats the Golett on the side, who makes a strange rumbling noise. "I call him Macross." He shrugs. "But what's in a name? I don't even know if he recognizes it, or just is responding to anything. I know they're all smart enough to follow commands... but," he just gesticulates aimlessly, "Sometimes you just wonder. Do they have their own names? What do they call us? I just... wonder on occasion what they'd say if they could talk."

Silas thinks for a bit, getting his mind back on its original track after being massively derailed. "I guess there's one thing I've been curious about. Why the focus on capturing Pokemon? Do we have a use for them beyond the obvious?"

Macross was an interesting name (somehow fitting, for the Golett), and an interesting question to raise. After pondering quietly for a moment, Thoron answered, "I wonder if every Technician asks the same... On some level, at least. Well, if we do, the answer is still a mystery."
It really did make one wonder, though. "Even the most intelligent among them, though, can only communicate so primitively. Not even those telepathic Pokemon can work around such limits. But, there are still so many cases where people - surprisingly, not only Technicians - grow too attached to a Pokemon all the same. Heh, it makes one wonder, did they think they truly understood their companion?" With a shake of his head, Thoron said, "But regardless of what they believe, the fact remains Pokemon cannot talk to us. Even as they seem to listen."

Silas
"Of course we do," Cain says, sighing. "Why else would we have something so troublesome put as our top priority? If we didn't do that... the city would not survive." He shakes his head, with a small grin. "That's all I can tell you. I know what you're trying to ask, but that's all you're getting."
Thoron
Skylar shrugs. "What other people think isn't my problem. I just need to worry about me." He glances back at his Golett, before asking, "Was there anything specific you needed? Or can I get back to training? I need to get some more time in with Chibi, not used to her style yet."

Silas nods. Even if Cain can't say what it is, having confirmation is better than nothing. "Yeah, that's what I expected." He stops speaking for a moment, then continues. "Am I going to get myself in trouble by asking the wrong questions in your office or around Omega?"

"No, no. Nothing further." Thoron said with a light shake. Tempting as it was to continue anyways, or at least ask about Skylar's newest Pokemon... Well, they were sharing the training room. Unless Chibi was invisible, it would be fine.
With a final nod, Thoron turned back to get to what he had come here for: Lowe wasn't going to train himself.

Silas
Cain considers it for a moment. "That... depends," he says. "If you have any questions that might be able to be interpreted by anyone listening as reason to doubt your loyalty... you might want to consider keeping them to yourself, even if they might be innocent of intention. But, no. Your team won't find themselves suddenly short a member just because you tried to poke questions into something above your clearance. Heaven knows most people have tried that at some point."
Suddenly there's a light beeping coming from Cain, and he pulls a small device out of his pocket. "Ah, that's my cue to head back. As I mentioned, there's no real rest in this job. But, it's been nice talking to you"
"And, don't worry." He seems to have Silas' last question in mind. "This thing's one way only. No microphone." He slides it back into a pocket. "I'll make sure to have someone let you know when we're going to take off the sedation, so you can be there for when she wakes up." With that, Cain heads back towards HQ.
Thoron
Skylar goes back to his training, soon whetting Thoron's curiosity as he recalls his Golett to send out a small orange mouse that crackles with electricity. In contrast to the stoic statue, the mouse seems to be much more giggly and mischievous, which provides an interesting backdrop for training as Skylar attempts to get a handle on it...
Silas
It's a few days before any word arrives concerning Lethe, leaving Silas alone with his thought about it for a time. But, eventually, he's called to the medical section, wherein he meets up with a Doctor, who introduces herself as Doctor Elizabeth Morrison. "Call me Liz, though," she says. "Anyways... uh, she's right up ahead. I'll have to go with you let you in, since the door's locked."
Arriving at the door, Silas notices that attached to it is a curious paper strip with runic writing on it, that he recognizes as a Cleanse Tag. Something that emanates a strange energy field that somehow stops ghosts from passing through objects nearby. Liz sighs as she fiddles with her keys. "I'll admit, this is... I don't have any experience on what to expect, so I hope that you get something productive out of this." She looks at Silas as she reaches to unlock the door. "I'm not sure if there's anything you want to ask before going in. On our best guesses, she'll be awake within ten or fifteen minutes... while you'll be the only person around, we will be keeping an eye on things through the camera in there. So if something goes wrong, we'll be there to help right away. And just knock when you want out, because... well, again, the door's locked." She gives a wan smile. "Sorry about the rambling, I'm a little bit jittery right now. I understand that she was previously a hostile elementalist, so... even though that's apparently not the case anymore, it's still put me a bit on edge, having her around here."
Thoron
While training is all well and good, it can't be done constantly. For those times that a Technician wants to do something other than exercise, or training, or being in the city, but doesn't feel like being cooped up in their room, there's the common area. During one visit there, Thoron finds that the place is almost empty (not that there's usually a lot of activity at the best of times, what with many Technicians being out elsewhere or on duty), with only Austin there, multitasking with eating and reading his datapad.

When you got right down to it, there was very little reason to go to the common room. Especially for one who believed in the value of time, wasting it in such an aimless way was a very rare occurrence... Still, it wasn't impossible, and today of all days Thoron had exhausted every other option.
More surprising was that the room itself wasn't empty.
Upon entering, Thoron greeted his fellow Technician with a brief, "Valadian," and a nod. Then asked, "...Mind if I join you?"

The past few days have been busy for Silas. It's not because he was thinking about what to do with Lethe, but because he's been training his team extensively to distract himself. He's pretty sure that he can get Gus to make a dust explosion with his spores, but igniting it is proving tricky. The sickly sweet scent of spores still sticks to Silas's shirt as he walks to the medical bay. As he walks, Silas tries to settle his nerves. He's worked with kids before. And this Lethe will pretty much be a kid. In a teenage body. With years of missing memories and potentially subconscious scars from trauma.
Silas smiles at Liz. "You don't need to worry about me. I think I resist her power, to a degree." He rubs his left wrist, turning the bracelet slightly. "Still, I didn't think I'd ever meet a blood relative, especially not like this. Honestly, I'm not sure how to handle it either."
Just before entering the room, Silas pauses, exhales, then crosses the threshold.

Thoron
The other Technician looks up from his meal and nods, before beginning to type on his 'pad. "Is there something you need?" comes the fairly swift question.
Silas
"Oh, uh, right," Liz says, "I was supposed to mention that apparently there's a good chance that some reflexive deep internal memories will probably have lingered. So, she'll learn things she already 'knew' faster."
With that, she opens the door for Silas and allows him to step through. The room is fairly simple, with the primary feature being a bed along one wall, though there are also sanitation facilities, including a sink, toilet, and mirror. What there is a distinct lack of, however, is anything that could be used as a weapon. Pretty much the only thing not bolted or fastened down in some fashion is a stool that's been placed near the bed, presumably for Silas to sit on.
Lethe, in her sleep, appears fairly peaceful. This is really the first time that there's been a good opportunity to get a look at her without her trying to murder people, her white hair fanning out in a bit of a halo around her head. She certainly doesn't look too dangerous.
As Silas waits, the girl begins to stir, eventually having her eyes flutter awake. The first thing that she does is rub at her forehead, wincing a little bit, before her head turns on the pillow and she catches sight of Silas. There's confusion on her face, but no hint of recognition.

As he waits for Lethe to wake up, Silas decides on his initial approach. She is a patient waking up from an invasive procedure. Making her feel comfortable and safe is step one. When Lethe looks in his direction, Silas smiles at her. "Good morning. My name is Silas Floros. How are you feeling?"

Shaking his head as he took a seat, Thoron explained, "Not quite... Nothing too serious."
"But now seemed like a good opportunity to talk. As important as one's team might be, it is important to give them some distance... Something like that? Heh, though on the subject of teams, did they learn about the Sil... The priority target we took down?"

Silas
Lethe groans before unsteadily sitting up, rubbing her head. "My head hurts..." she groans, before looking him over, as well as the room. "Where am I?" she asks, "What happened? Are Mommy and Daddy here?" As she speaks, her face gets more and more quizzical, as she seems to realize something isn't quite right. Finally, she seems to make the effort to shift more in the bed, before looking over herself, and letting out a somewhat delayed cry of surprise and shock as she seems to register herself.
Thoron
The question seems to confuse Austin a little. "Of course," comes the reply. "Why wouldn't I tell them about what happened while I was on other service? It's information that may well save their life one day. There would be no purpose served in withholding it, nothing gained."

Less than thirty seconds in, and she's already starting to panic. But that's to be expected. All Silas has to to stay calm and provide some semblance of stability to a girl whose life has just been turned upside-down. Easy, right? Fortunately, she's started with some easy questions. "You're in a special hospital. You were hurt pretty badly when we found you. It's normal to feel confused, but you're okay now."

While Thoron agreed with the sentiment, he replied, "Their existence seems to be on a need-to-know basis in the first place, with a majority of Technicians not aware of such a predator... Well, in any case, knowing about an enemy is for the best, even should none of us ever encounter one again."
"This is simply curiosity on my part, but did they believe your claim that such a strong Pokemon exists?"

Silas
"F...found me?" she ventures, seemingly hesitant, and with some fear in her voice. "I don't remember anything happening. What happened? I... something's wrong with me." She seems to keep looking at and feeling her body, as if it isn't really happening, tears forming in her eyes. "Where are Mommy and Daddy?"
Thoron
"Of course." The response is immediate, before another comes after a bit of typing. "Why would you even have to ask that? A team needs to trust themselves utterly. Lying to other members only weakens yourself. And there's no conceivable reason why I would lie about facing such a creature."
