I might just repurpose my Ace Trainer/Herald of Pride into something for this game. Skype is sinisarcau98 and you can find me in the main chat as Zephias/JMS.

Here is Quinton "Quill" GrangerAnd here is his monster of a backstory. I'll get his Personality and stat his starter in just a second Quill was born to a large but poor farming family in Pavo. He was a sickly child and did domestic work with his mother. As he grew older he skimmed through the family's few holy books for the illustrations and eventually pestered his mother to teach him how to read. His mother, delighted that her son was following in her religious footsteps taught him to the best of her abilities. His four older brothers began to call him "Quill" because of his fervor for books.
The Grangers were a family cursed with misfortune. Something always seemed to be going wrong on the farm, causing them to relapse into near bankruptcy. But no matter the trouble, the family stayed strong. The Grangers eventually had to sell the precious few books they owned, but even Quill at the tender age of seven understood that the needs of the family outweighed their possessions.
Disaster struck once again as the family suffered a drought. When they though their salvation arrived, instead a terrible accident happened. A storm rolled towards the farm and Quill and his mother were performing a ritual towards Lugia to celebrate the rain. And as the rain came, so did misfortune. The dry homestead was blasted by lightning, Quill's father and brothers trapped inside the burning building. Quill's mother ordered him to get the neighbors as she attempted to claw her way into the burning building. When Quill returned it was too late, his entire family perished in the burning building.
Quill was sent to an orphanage in the center of Pavo, but he wasn't good at the adjustment. Night terrors plagued him and he became deathly afraid of fire. Even the small glow of a candle kept Quill on edge, he preferred entire darkness. The other children didn't quite bully him, rather they avoided Quill altogether. Isolated from his peers, Quill was often running away from the orphanage when he could, returning to his homestead.
As the property changed hands Quill found himself retreating to the forest near his old home. Though he didn't explore it as well as his brother's did, he felt drawn to it, as it was the last place of nostalgia that was left untouched. Though he often got himself lost and half starved, Quill had an intoxicated draw toward the forest.
Around his ninth birthday Quill wandered again to the forest. It was there he heard a tiny wailing further in. Deeper and deeper he went into the forest until finally he was hopelessly lost. It was only when he himself began to cry that a friendly creature popped up. A phantump floated around Quill, keeping him company deep in the forest. It was the first time Quill had seen a wild pokemon up close. He had heard of monstrous tales of creatures lurking in the woods, but this tiny spirit seemed nothing like the tales. It giggled around Quill's head and was content to float around in the trees, watching him closely but never attacking.
Quill grew attached to the spirit, thinking of it as his personal savior. He managed to keep himself alive in the forest so as to continue to keep his new friend company. In a few days time a rescue party, lead by the orphanage caretakers, eventually found Quill half starved, but happier than he had been in years.
As the crowd began to communicate with each other, Quill looked to his phantump friend. The spirit seemed scared of the group and would phase in and out of visibility. It tugged on his cloak every once in a while, urging him away. Quill tried to soothe the creature, but realized he would have to abandon his friend. Through sheer will, Quill managed to conjure a portal, despite lacking much formal training. Though hesitant, the phantump agreed to a partnership with Quill.
Quill once again found his hunger for books and scrounged together any information at all he could find about spirits. He remembered the stories of Resurrection in the old Holy Books he read, and wanted to see if he could link the two interests. Though, any sort of information was hard to come by, he eventually begged the orphanage caretakers to send him to Maxima's Academy. A compromise was finally reached when he convinced the caretakers he would escape there one way or another and soon he began his formal education.
Though the first years were harsh, the academy was welcoming to Quill. They fostered his oddly focused interests, though he never revealed his passion for resurrection to his professors. The school was also accommodating to his deathly fear of fire, choosing to isolate him for those elemental classes and letting him incorperate any fire magic very slowly into his curriculum.
However, the more he researched on Ghost Pokemon, the more he realized the futility of Resurrection. He never truly gave up the goal of meeting his family again, but he realized he shouldn't be taking advantage of ghost pokemon to do it. Around his 2nd year of school (he was 12 at the time), Quill managed to get a meeting with the Headmistress. It was there that he shared his secret research into human resurrection. With tearful shame, he held up his notes and -shaking all the while- conjured a small flame in his hands.
Maxima closed his palm. "You may choose to abandon this work. I'm glad you are. But knowledge should never be burned." She retrieved a dusty book from her shelf. "Sometimes our greatest mistakes hold the keys to great discoveries."
Maxima still confiscated Quill's notes and sent him to detention for a few months, but she noticed Quill's heart as a researcher. And his choice of study fascinated her as well. Seeing the potential for a great mage, she nominated him for a knight position. Also my skype is babsmorris11

(Surprise Surprise.) I'm going to pull out of this. There are a few reasons, but primarily is the Real Life stress of trying to work up enough self-esteem for job applications.
Best of luck to those who applied!

Also in the "everything but inventory done" category is Sawyl Morgan, swashbuckling son of the Pirate King of the Eastern Seas. Theoretically reformed.

Alright guys, here's my final choices. I decided on 6 people because there was one character I liked that much. For the people who made it, I'll be home at around 6 PST and posting everything for the thread then. Here we go!
Aviss Shepard punches her way to the 7 Knights. Egon will be studying even more exotic plants. Quinton Granger will be mastering his magic. Bryant Eisenwald will be taming the inner dragon. Rinka will be learning the arts of Aura. Sawyl will be gathering more tales for his father to hear.
Thanks everyone for applying!
