"Merde..." Lucas swears under his breath once the demon lord designates him as the hero. He doesn't want anything to do with being a hero, and it especially doesn't make sense when he doesn't have a "costume" of his own! Nonetheless, he smiles and nods as the girl shows him the values of the coins, and he gratefully takes a drink of his own after handing over the appropriate change, appreciating the sweetness of the lemonade since that's how he prefers it.
Then Ritsuko goes and introduces another snag when she claims to be a normal person, contrary to her appearance and the story just established. Though he can't really blame her since he didn't prepare anyone, now Lucas needs to come up with a reason for her to say that, or else the lemonade girl could get confused, which wouldn't be ideal. Hastily improvising his and Ritsuko's roles, Lucas falls into character as he kneels down on one knee in front of her, right hand over his heart. "My lady, I have told you that you are no longer just a humble village girl, but the one destined to become the legendary queen of the sky! Do not lower yourself because of the foul curse the dreadful dragon Fafnir placed upon you, for I vow as your knight that I will break it, even at the cost of my death!" Nervous and out of practice as he may be, the boy is relieved to find he hasn't quite forgotten how to act.

Ritsuko balks as Lucas snaps into a routine. She was now even more confused than the little girl would be. She also shoots him a glare when bringing up sensitive topics about dragons, and curses. She puts her hands up, and literally backs out of the situation.

"Oh, wow," the girl says, clapping. The other kids are more crowding around now, murmuring in curiosity. The lemonade girl turns to them. "These guys came here to put on a play!"
That causes a fair few of the kids to turn away and go back to their ball game after getting a good, long, satisfactory look at Superbia and Ritsuko, but a few others seem to be interested. "What's it about?" one boy asks, curiously.
Meanwhile, inside the house's angular room, Iga investigates things. In various drawers, he finds odd knick-knacks, pieces of fabric... and one that has many knives, amongst other things, in it. There's also a peculiarly humming box, that, when opened is cold inside, containing food of all things. In various other compartments are containers and strange instruments of all shapes and sizes. Not all metal, either.

Lucas looks sincerely apologetic as Ritsuko backs away from him and rises back on his feet in order to go talk privately with her, but gets caught up by the boy asking about their non-existent performance, quickly spinning up details on the fly for their story. "Um, well, the madamemoiselle plays as Celeste, a young woman from a small village who discovers her true identity as the queen of the sky from Sigurd the knight, my character and the hero of the story. He was sent to find Celeste and protect her while bringing her to the Palace of the Stars. But before he first finds her, Celeste is cursed by the evil dragon Fafnir, who seeks to drag the world into darkness by corrupting the queen of the sky. Thus, Sigurd's mission becomes to find and slay Fafnir to free Celeste from the curse." He'll fit Iga into the story later. Speaking of which, where is the man? Lucas know that he said he'll be hiding in the shadows, but it's still been a while.

"So many weapons permitted in one home. They must prize food highly to keep it in a personal armory." Iga whispered to himself softly. This was clearly a home of the elite, though it resembled all the others. The knives were light and shone of silver, with fine edges to them. They lacked the weight and rust he was so used to with the farm implements he and his people had used and then developed. It was not steel as he knew it either, for he had handled a blade before.
Hesitantly, he backed from the armory, and began his way up the hall with light steps. They were to find a problem in this place but one was not immediately apparent. Dangers would do well to flee this village, but the nature of their journey lead him to believe that they had encountered something more.

Superbia grinned as Lucas continued to spin the tale, growing ever more elaborate. The boy was a natural at this, he could find use for someone like him in court, if they ever made it back.
"Tis as grand a tale as any that is told." Superbia says from over the cup of lemonade that was grasped in his gauntleted hand. He was content to let Lucas continue unless the children asked him directly, finding some enjoyment in watching the kid continue to lie without hesitation

Ritsuko lets the boys go along with their idea of a play. She purchases her own Lemonade, and looks around at the other buildings nearby. That man Iga seemed to have disappeared, and who knows where he might be exactly. Hopefully finding useful information. Ritsuko was able to emerge a tiny bit out of her shell, and walks more freely down the street. Were there any adults nearby?

"When are you performing it?" One kid asks. "I wanna see it." "Yeah!" another says, "It's way different than the stories we've been told."
Ritsuko, walking down the street some more, and looking around, sees an older face peering out of the window one home at her. It's a woman, somewhat older than her, looking with her head tilted in what seems to be mild curiosity.
Walking through the dwelling, Iga comes to a bit of an open space, with a hallway and another few doors. The hall seems to probably loop around back to around where you entered. Of the other doors, one seems to lead outside to where the others are - or, rather, two are... Rtsuko's walking away - and the last door is an enigma as to what's behind it.

"We just arrived in town today, so we have to find a place to stay and a good stage to perform on, first. Don't worry, everyone will know once we're ready!" Which is going to be never, since they didn't come here to put on a play, not to mention that Ritsuko seemed to hate the idea, but there's no way Lucas is saying that out loud. And as much as he wants to wrap this conversation up and follow the horned girl further into the heart of the town, he gets a little curious when one of the children mentions knowing radically different stories. Hoping to understand the town a little better, even through fiction, Lucas encourages the kids, "Can you tell me one of them? It's always exciting to hear something new, and who knows, maybe we'll use it for our next play!"

"I too would like to hear one of your tales, maybe something about the Fairies in the woods?" Superbia asks with a raised eyebrow. If these Fairies are real, then maybe they're whats causing whatever issue has brought them here. It wouldn't surprise the Demon, the Fae were always causing problems for their enemies, and allies if they're bored.

Ritsuko freezes when she spots the woman. After a tense few seconds to see if the doesn't woman freaks out, Ritsuko turns to her, and waves. "Umm....H-Hello...May I...s-speak to you....please?"

Iga paused in the hallway to consider a small wooden rectangle, contained within was an impossibly lifelike image of several humans. The hair on the back of his neck stood on end, and he slowly retreated from the home onto the lawn. Pulling the door closed behind him, he centered his mind once more. He would need to watch for an opening to rejoin the others, but the news he had was unsettling at best.

Lucas and Superbia
The kids seem to turn amongst themselves when asked about stories, unsure of who should speak, before one of the older boys pipes up. "Well, there's the story of Titania... it's one that the adults all say is too scary." Which, of course, is why all the kids would know it anyways. "Deep in the forest, in a glade of the most enchanting beauty, lives the Queen of the Fairies. And normally, that is where she sticks to dwelling, only entrapping the minds and souls of those who are unlucky enough stumble upon her, where they are destined to serve her for all eternity. But, occasionally, a child is born to them - half fairy, half human. And the queen will fly out from her glade, sending dreams of temptation to those she passes over, before replacing a human child with her own." His voice grows lower. "The child will enchant all those that come into contact with it, as it grows, thinking it's a human... before, one day, the Queen will call her child back, and it will reveal its true form as a fae... and drag all of those it has entranced back into the forest, to never be seen again."
Ritsuko
The woman holds up a finger before disappearing from the window. It's a few moments before she reappears, exiting the door. "Sorry," she says, softly, "I couldn't hear you through the window." She cocks her head at Ritsuko, again, seeming to try and take in the strange girl. "What are you?"
Iga
From what he can see, some children have gone back to playing their game in the streets, while others are talking to the pair of Lucas and Superbia. Ritsuko is in conversation with what seems to be an adult... so, at least it appears that it's not just children.

Iga considered the scene playing out in the road and waited for his opening before rejoining the others, opting to come up main street from out of sight. It was the 'long way' around, but less likely someone would suspect he had been lurking. He gently tapped the demon on the shoulder from behind, his approach as quiet as always, and all he initially offered was a pointed look. 'We need to talk', it said. From there he watched the children, and Lucas.

Ritsuko bit her lip, and looked back to the others still rambling on about plays. Perhaps that would turn out to be a useful cover. Explaining her situation would be....difficult. "Ah....I'm with a group of...traveling performers. Please don't mind the accessories....He just happened to pass through, and noticed it was rather quiet in the middle of the day. Where is everyone? Is there some sort of gathering nearby?"

Superbia was enraptured by the story the children told, finding the idea of this Titania to be fascinating. Such an interesting infiltration tactic and possibly something he could replicate with a Succubus or possibly even a Fae of his own. Before he could think too much on it, he felt a hand on his shoulder. He his hand moved to strike before he noticed it was Iga and stopped himself. The older looking man had a strange look on his face which took Superbia a moment to understand.
Eventually getting the meaning, he moved to go in between a few of the houses, to talk to the ninja in private

"The home I inspected is made of strange materials and poorly defended. Their cavalry barrier has a gate and can easily be jumped by an experienced horseman. The doors were unlocked, but there was a storage room that held an armory worth of different knives, and a white humming box that shone with an inner light and spewed cold. I thought it might be a tsukonogami at first, an item given life, but it reacted little to my presence and held foods. Mostly meats, cheeses, and vegetables by the smells." Iga paused in his report to consider the person Ritsuko spoke to some ways up the road.
"No one was present in the building, but the hide of a massive beast lay on one of their floors. In the same room, life-like pictures of humans, like those of our 'Pokemon'.". Iga shook his head slowly. "This is a dangerous place."

Lucas feels a chill run down his spine as the kid tells the folktale. "No wonder your parents warned you to stay away from the forest. Titania and her fairy children sound terrifying if they're real," he comments, shaking his head. He can easily believe that such accursed creatures exist, even though he'd normally attribute such a story to ghosts and not fairies. Maybe the beings they call fairies are different from the ones he knows? "I'm glad the fairies of my home aren't so spiteful unless you try to harm them. Besides, some of the most common ones aren't much taller than this." Lucas holds up his now-empty cup of lemonade to show them the comparison and laughs awkwardly. "They just really like taking care of flowers."

Ritsuko
"Oh, a pleasure to meet you." Her voice keeps the same soft tone, so it's hard to tell if she's genuine, or just being polite. "Everyone else?" She seems mildly surprised at the question. "I imagine most of them are either at work or doing things in town. Why? Are you looking for someone?"
Lucas
"Really? They're... not just doing that to trick you?" The kid asks, surprised. "Are you sure? Because there are many that are said to live in here that are that small, too. It sounds like they're just trying to lull you into a sense of security. Or... what do the flowers do?"

"Nope, they're very sweet. Each one has a life-long bond with a flower that they bring with them everywhere, and they use their power to grow beautiful gardens that everyone can enjoy, since they love flowers so much. I guess most of the fairies in your stories aren't as nice, huh?" Given the way the boy continues to describe them, Lucas suspects that they're very unlike the helpful and friendly Flabebe and Floette he's used to. If the group's lucky, these are just myths to scare the children, and the forest isn't as dangerous as the adults say.
