Ritsuko backs up from the deep drop offs, and slime nearby. This was one dangerous river. She quietly signals for the team to back up to dry land. When she is safely back on the beach, she looks to the others. "Ummm...It seems that deeper investigation into the water is very dangerous. We could easily lose footing, and go under. I don't even want to think about fighting more of those slime in the water. Anyone have other ideas?"

For now, at least, it doesn't seem like any of the other slicks have been disturbed by your presence. At least, not that you can tell. It's a little bit hard to determine that with patches floating on top of a rushing river.

"We have confirmed the river is the source of the problem, now perhaps if we find the source of the river all will be made clear." Iga had no intention of diving into monster infested waters alongside teammates who had often proven questionable at best. He began to walk along the embankment against the current.

With no issues returning to the beach, Lucas sighs in relief while wringing out some of the water from his shirt. "If I had to guess, we'll find more of those things at the reservoir. They don't seem like the reason why the townspeople would be acting strangely though," he thinks aloud as he grabs his backpack and other items and follows Iga along the river.

Superbia walks back out of the water, his clothes now soaked entirely through. He frowns a bit before heading in the same direction as the rest of them, leaving a little trail of water behind him.

Ritsuko is able to get Czar back into his ball. She then makes sure she has all her belongings before following the others to the reservoir. "I think so too, but having these slime in the drinking water doesn't seem fine to just leave it. Hopefully it'll connect to the main problem."

Walking up along the river, going past the bridge leading over to the other side begins a marked shift in the terrain. The bank begins getting a little bit steeper - not like the sandbars you were just around - and trees start to fill in the surrounding area where development was before. It's not thick forest - you can still see signs of the town a bit further away from the banks - but it seems like it was probably more trouble than it was worth to build it up to this particular spot. Further away from the bustle of civilization, the air begins to fill with the sounds of creatures, a familiar setting... yet with unfamiliar sounds. Perception and Intuition checks, please.

Iga had taken point, and care to remain out of sight. There was plenty to observe, and he'd just as soon be out of his allies' way as he would anything else in these woods. The water tied it all together, hopefully once they moved past this trial it would be a simple matter to just return home, but he didn't expect as much. His musings were interrupted by the shift in atmosphere. His 'Growl-lith' he had returned to its seal, for it had suffered much at the hands of the water creature they had fought earlier.

Superbia continued to trudge along forward, finally not dripping wet, though still far from dry. He looked around, unsure why they had went through the hassle of extending the town out this far, especially without any sort of defensive measures. But they might just be in an especially peaceful timeframe, and not understand that once their enemies see how weak they are, they would be nothing but sitting ducks. He looked between his companions, debating trying to start conversation but thought better of it. Iga was nowhere to be seen and was more likely to try and stab him then speak to him, Lucas was terrified of him, and for good reason with him being a human, and Ritsuko barely spoke as it is, though he still needed to talk to her about her Mana... 9 on the perception and 4 on the intuition

Without much conversation or fanfare, the group continues to trudge along, the forest growing a little bit denser off to the side. Thankfully, there doesn't seem to be much in the way of disturbance, either by fairies or otherwise. All that's around are the ambient sounds of nature - animals, wind rustling leaves, and the river.
While most don't notice anything, Iga, watching for danger and perceptive as he is, notices some shapes in the forest. In the underbrush is a trio of brown shapes, as well as a light green one a little ways away. Further up, there's a bird perching in a tree, and also, barely noticeable, the hint of a green creature hidden in the leaves. They all seem to be paying close attention to your group.

Iga creeps nearer the party, making small noises to draw Superbia's attention to him. "Ware, these woods have many eyes, and they are far too coordinated to be coincidence." Warning given, the small man opted to move into the trees, the odd green creature, so well hidden against the topiary, demanding his full attention.

Superbia nodded to what Iga said without drawing attention to him. Resting a hand on the Pokeball, Superbia continued to walk with confidence through the woods, knowing that to do otherwise would draw attention to them.
After a few moments, he speaks to his other companions "How much further do you think it is until we make it to the source of this river? It seems strange that they built up so far with no defenses." He glanced around, both to make his point and also to see if he noticed any of the eyes that Iga had pointed out. His hope was that by drawing attention to himself and the other two, Iga could continue to go unnoticed

As Iga climbs the tree, he gets onto to the level of the green creature... which then proceeds to jump towards him. He registers that it's a spider, but one larger than his face, with a spike on its head. It makes a menacing noise ad looks like it's about to attack... but then gets distracted by a bright flash of purple light. A light, that those around can clearly see, is coming from Ritsuko. She's glowing, and also becoming more transparent, almost like a ghost. In a handful of seconds, without a word, and only an expression of shock, she's gone, the only thing left her book, which thuds to the ground. It opens itself, and begins flipping through as indigo flames begin to consume it, charred parts flying away and burning into nothingness. In less than a minute, there is nothing left of the group's other companion but a memory. After the momentary distraction, though, the spider turns back to Iga, though it has lost the element of surprise. A chorus of growls emanates from the brush, as fluffy tails poke up, and a little bulb-creature wanders out. From out of a nearby tree, the bird Iga spotted takes flight, looking like it's spoiling for a fight. MapYou can release your Pokémon from your current positions. The brown on the left side of the map is a cliff, leading down to the river. Falling's probably a bad idea. The dark green is brush (rough terrain). The brown squares are trees (Blocking terrain).

Lucas had honestly been absorbed by the peacefulness of the walk. Sure, he's mostly a city boy, but it's hard not to appreciate this mostly untouched landscape. In fact, he almost forgets that Superbia is behind him, and his heart practically leaps out his chest when the demon suddenly asks his question. Attempting to recompose himself discreetly, Lucas coughs a little before replying in a whisper, "It doesn't seem that odd to me? It's pretty normal back home. This is a long walk though." He winces a little at straining his voice, but before he can do much else, Ritsuko starts glowing and fading with a purple light. Lucas stands there watching confused and afraid, and too late thinks about reaching for her when she disappears like that. Unfortunately, he isn't even allowed to process what just happened with his companion when a myriad of- Pokemon? Honest-to-gods Pokemon appear from the brush looking for a battle. Lucas can't name all of them off the top of his head, but he recognizes them with a bit of dizzying excitement, to add to his other emotions. Worried about the Flying type match-up against both Seraphine and Superbia's Fighting type, Lucas tries to find Iga to no avail. Hoping for the best, he sends Seraphine into the sky with a whirl of his pokeball to face off against the Taillow. I'm posting from mobile at the moment so I'm a little limited. Releasing Seraphine at M6, same height as the Taillow if possible.

Soon after Superbia spoke, the light took Ritsuko. They weren't moving fast enough to fix this problem, and so whatever force had put them here decided to make them move faster by taking one of them. The Demon Lord wondered what happened to Ritsuko? Was she taken home? Or was she punished? Right now wasn't the time to figure it out though. Pulling forth the Pokeball and tossing it with all his might, Superbia releases his Minion " Alright Minion! It seems we're facing a Dryad! I want you to show it who's boss!" Superbia and Minion both have speed 5

Iga, like the spider, was transfixed and concerned with the sudden dissolution of Ritsuko. The being that sent them here must've been unwilling to risk her turning on them again, the purple light was all too familiar. As she vanished wholly from their plane of existence, he recalled the fact that there was a giant spider within a scant meter of him. He screamed something to the effect of "TSUCHIGUMO!" Before fire exploded in the treetops.
(Iga acts on 15 and uses Will-O-Wisp. Growlithe is released as a shift action and uses Ember on 11.)

Unable to properly shout to Seraphine, Lucas hopes that she'll be okay to handle herself and tries to organize the situation in front of him. One Taillow, three (?) dogs in the brush he can't identify, and... a Petilil. His heart sinks as he watches Superbia get ready to fight it with his pokemon, but the boy doesn't have the will to speak out, even if his voice wasn't in such a bad shape. He does manage to take a few steps closer, but a rather unexpected scream and explosion in the trees shocks him into stopping in his tracks. Meanwhile, Seraphine stares down the Taillow intensely, before making the first move and swooping in at the other bird with a fierce jab of her beak. Lucas: - Shift Action: Move to L10
Seraphine: - Shift Action: Move to O4 - Standard Action: Peck on the Taillow * Accuracy Roll: 4 vs AC 2 (ignores non-stat Evasion and accuracy penalties via Keen Eye) * 27 Physical Flying damage (no effects)

While Lucas makes his way forwards, Iga's burst of fire ignites the spider in front of him. Unfortunately, his companion's flames aren't so accurate, and miss the arachnid, sputtering for a moment against the bark of the tree before going out. Sera flies up to meet the other bird in battle, but, unfortunately misjudges how quick it is, and leaves herself open as she aims where it was, suffering a vicious pecking as some of her leaves are plucked. Spinarak is Burned. Sera misses with Peck. Sera takes 2 injuries and 45 damage from Peck. A critical hit!

Reacting to Superbia's orders from earlier, the Timburr struck out towards the grass type with its log, hoping to slow it down by striking it in vital areas. Superbia meanwhile dashes up at full speed, skidding to a halt and twisting his body so that his tail slams into the Pokemon with the full power of his charge, his purple mana flickering down it as he does so. Minion uses Force Palm with a 16 vs AC 2 for 36 physical Fighting Damage
Superbia uses Dragon Tail with an 8 vs AC 3 for 31 Dragon Physical damage and will push the Petlil back 6 meters minus its weight class

Superbia rushes forwards, smashing the plant-creature back into the brush from whence it came. It begins to waddle back towards the fight, though, spectral roots growing from its body into the ground as it does so. The dogs jump forwards from the brush, one going for Minion, its fangs glowing red-hot, while two others attempt to take down the interloper canine, one with jaws crackling with electricity, the other swiping with a ferocious claw. All three connect, with Minion powering through the hit, while Okuri-ōkami barely manages to hold fast, static jolting through its muscles even after the fact. Minion, having lacked the initial target knocked away by Superbia, turns instead to meet this new foe, slamming its fist into the dog's face. The canine whimpers in pain as it takes the blow, its tail tucking between its legs. It seems to be fairly weakened by the attack. Iga notices, as he easily swivels to avoid the spider's poisonous gout, that the dog seems to briefly look around a little confusedly, before turning back to Minion. Superbia hits with Dragon Tail. Timburr takes 20 damage from Fire Fang. Growlithe takes 20 damage from Thunder fang, and is Paralyzed. Growlithe takes 21 damage and an injury from Crush Claw. R1 takes 2 injuries from Force Palm. It's super effective! Spinarak misses with Poison Sting, and takes a tick from Burn. Petilil uses Ingrain.
