Wally nabs a scan. When it's Bronzor's turn, he'll have it use Hypnosis (if it's still applicable).

Sam's Zubat used Supersonic! But it failed!
Goldeen used Peck on Bronzor! Bronzor fainted!
Sam: Wally, why don't you get some distance and use a Pokemon with ranged attacks?

Wally: Yikes!
He's surprised that the Goldeen was able to take out Bronzor with such ease. As soon as he can, he'll return Bronzor to the safety of its ball, back far away, and release his new Skorupi, making sure that it is released just close enough that the Goldeen is in range of its Poison Sting attack, and then having Skorupi use that attack will be the next order of business.

[OOC: Fortunately, switching Pokémon is a free action when the one being switched out is under 1% of its full HP. So Skorupi can attack this turn! However, this moment is making me reconsider a house rule I made, that said that people can throw balls at 4 + Strength mod. With your current strength, that would be 0. I think I should revise this rule; bump it up, and I'm open to suggestions. Meanwhile, I'll deploy Skorupi 1 away from you. Battle info coming...]

Wally stays safely away from the battle, forfeiting the rest of his turns. He has Skorupi return to its ball as well.
Wally: Hey, Ponce, don't you think it's time to try and catch it now?

Ponce: Indeed!
Goldeen, as if sensing something bad coming or maybe just angry at Ponce for kicking him, hits him with a Peck!
Round 3!
Ponce throws a Poke Ball! Success! Goldeen was caught!
All participating Pokémon gained 80 XP!
Skorupi grew to Level 4!
[OOC: Before we go any further, DJW, would you be interested in trying to play this live on Roll20? I'm not super-familiar with how it works, but if you're available we could give it a whirl.]

[OOC: Oh, no. I'm a PbP guy through and through. I can pop in several time a day to check on things but I never have more than a few minutes to devote to gaming. That's why live games aren't a possibility for me.]
Wally: Thank goodness.
He approaches the group once more.
Wally: Hey, I'm sorry to be a bother, but Bronzor really took a lashing during that one. I think I need to head back and find Professor Oat so he can help me heal.

[OOC: Bronzor to the right of Ponce. Wally behind Bronzor.]
Wally: I'm back. Thanks for waiting. While I was with Professor Oat getting my team healed, he talked about those bandits lurking just to our west, the ones blocking the way to the nearest Pokémon Center. He says it looks like there's a battle looming, and I've pledged my support. He said that he will be there, and that you will, too, Ponce, but I didn't speak for you, Sam. One bit of potential good news, though, is there are reports that the bandits favor Ground-type Pokémon, which are weak to Water-type Moves, so it's great that we're here catching Water-types. We should keep doing this until we all have a good, strong one.

Sam: I'm in this if you all are. We don't have too much available in Spike Weed Town, and so we have to break the siege and get to more stuff. Let's keep fishing and I'll try to get a Pokemon. Ponce casts out his line again, and hooks a Corphish! Ponce I own one of these, so it's all yours! drive.google.com/file/d/1sIEybZaLow6VsVxKwI0hm77t7YZVdAx7/view?usp=sharingBattle!Initiative is Wally, Sam, Ponce, Sam's Zubat, Bronzor, Corphish.

Wally gets a Pokédex scan. By the time Bronzor's turn arrives, Sam can let Wally know if he should have the Bronzor use Hypnosis or Confusion, depending on which Move would better assist Sam in capturing the Corphish.

[OOC: Sam will attempt to capture it, but yes; he is sitting this round out, and so is Ponce. Both damage and sleep help with the capture.
Sorry for spacing on that; I have a friend staying over at my apartment so I'm a bit distracted.]

Since two potential damage-dealers opted to take no action, Wally decides that it might be safe to let Bronzor attack the Corphish. Bronzor uses Confusion.

Wally will skip this turn. Bronzor will use Hypnosis if Corphish is still around by then.

Sam used threw a Poke-Ball...Success! Corphish was caught!
Zubat and Bronzor gained 80 XP!
Sam: Great; I've finally got one! Not sure it's up to the challenge of fighting the bandits, though.
