Once the mist cleared the five of you could see and hear clearly - the ferry has arrived at the docks but suffered more damage than you thought. The hull is scarred and rended all along its length, clearly from a battle between the jellyfish that didn't spill over the railing and onto the decks. The other passengers are quick to leave, many of them clearly terrified by the damage. Standing on the docks is a muscular blonde man in sunglasses and board shorts, a sea green topped Mantine next to him. It's the gym leader, Adrian Summers and he's clearly waiting for you. "What up dudes!" He says as a greeting. "The Prof said you were coming and from what I saw of that bodacious fight he wasn't wrong about your skill. I'm Adrian, gym leader and owner of the Summersea Resort. And so long as you guys are in Seagarden, consider yourselves my guests. High class rooms, free access to the buffet and I'll even teach you groms how to surf. You'll need the lessons if you're gonna be challenging me!"

Challenge, Karla thought, I didn't think we were here for gyms. That wasn't the issue here though, and really it made little difference. "Excuse me." She said to the man as they disembarked, "where is the Pokémon centre? I'd rather not leave my Pokémon poisoned and knocked out any longer than needed." She thought to look back at the ship and let out an audible gasp at the sheer amount of damage the ship had taken.

"Thank you for the recognition, with some help from my companion here" Motioning to Karla "My faithful pal Gulliver and I was able to fend off the dastardly Tentacruel and his gang of ruthless Tentacools from destroying the boat... Although my other companions were nowhere to be found I still fear the damage that could have been done if I wasn't here. I'm glad you are able to see true heroics and bravery where it lies. I'm not so sure surfing will come in handy as I am not too fond of the water and neither are my partners in crime." Horace pays no recognition to the damages the ship has taken standing proud and tall not to mention excited to take part in his first ever gym battle. The thrill of the fight had gotten to his mind.
Gulliver accompanies Horace's speech by miming a brawl as if it were a boxing match.
Horace then turns to the group members, "If we get in trouble for these heroics let me handle it... the rest of you can scurry off."

"Sigh," Shoko purposely murmured. "I thought the boat ride would be a lot... smoother than that. Mirk, how are you holding up?" Mirk emerged from within Shoko's coat bopping her in the head with his mouth as his attempt to remind her that she should stop complaining so much. "Yes, yes I suppose we at least came upon some interesting pokemon. Let's go find you a pokemon center, why don't we?" As she exited the boat, Shoko could hear the excited yells of a man with a surfboard calling out to the group.
"So he's the gym leader..." Shoko softly conversed with Mirk, "No need to bother with him, we've got a center to get to." After another bop on the head and a glare from Mirk, Shoko sheepishly remarked "Uh um... okay. I.. I uh suppose he knows the area well, probably. I'll go talk to him... You know I don't like talking to people like that. They always expect... responses and, you know, conversations."
Shoko walks up to the gym leader and after yet another sigh, along with gently shoving mirk's head into her coat (You get back to resting) she uttered, "Hello. I'm Shoko and I am traveling with this group." She stood slightly behind Karla, content to let her handle any handshaking or other greeting exchanges.

Axel was last off the boat, apologizing to the clean-up crew for the last addition to their workload. It hadn't taken long for Gauss to shake off his confused state once the fight had died down and the second the poor Luxray had worked out what he was standing on he'd... given in... to his seasickness.
As Axel walked off the ship it didn't take much looking to spot the others, who seemed to be talking to some beach buff with a Mantine. Quietly he rejoined the group and listened to the conversation.

"No worries babe." Adrian says to Karla. "We've got a machine and nurse in the resort, its way closer than the centre." He grins as Gulliver talks. "I know it was all of you brah, the ship's camera caught the whole thing. And you're hardly going to get in trouble for saving the ship. Maybe the fishing, but don't about it." He nods to Shoko and Axel before turning and motioning for the group to follow him. "We'll just get you set up with rooms and computers while your pokemon heal up. The ferry won't be running for a day or two anyway, so feel free to kick back and enjoy the surf." Adrian keeps talking as you guys walk off the docks, the resort he keeps mentioning is located directly across the street. Once inside he departs as you guys are escorted to your rooms, complete with a central eating area with a PC and Healing Machine. -_-_-_-
You guys wake up the next morning, free to do whatever you wish in Seagarden - Challenge Adrian, investigate the surrounding routes, talk to the locals, whatever. (Post your morning training stuff here and we'll continue once we know what you're doing)

That evening Karla makes the decision. After the Pokémon had been healed up a bit she finds a PC and sends Bobbles to storage. Then she contacts the research team, and explains that this Tentacool appears ot have been mutated in a somewhat similar manner to herself. After weighing the options she relinquishes it for intensive study. It's fine... it's not like she had gotten attached in such a short time... right. Besides, I have another new Pokémon to befriend! She heads otuside and takes 2 hours to train her Pokémon and get them accustomed to each other. She gives Sparkles and Diz a tough work out, but takes it easier on Tangela, spreading his work over one hour with each of the others while also teaching her to utalise her power a bit more.
The next morning she wakes up still slightly feeling the shaking of the boat... adn the sounds of the waves nearby doesn't help much. She puts back on her thick clothing. The sun does little for her now. She heads outside again and takes another hour to train Diz and Kelpi a bit more, Sparkles shyone well on the boat but she'd rather not have Diz fainting again any time soon.
After that she went back into the hotel to look for the others. They were on a mission here, and they would need to investigate around town. Plus later they could always try to make some money by beating the gym.
[exp training on all, exp training again on Diz and Kelpie, applying inspired training to Diz and Kelpie, teaching Mixed Power and Advanced Mobility(Overland, Swim) to Kelpie]

The hotel was definitely a new experience for Shoko as she had never before stayed in such a fancy location. She used the healing machine right away and maneuvered her way over to the PC to contact professor Rowan's lab. She discussed the little mishap on the boat and sent the Fearow to the lab for intensive study before hanging up and contemplating her options. She decides to go over some battle plans and a bit of training before heading to bed. " Time to sleep... my back is killing me," she groans as she tosses herself onto the bed. " Good thing this bed feels soft. Ah what sweet relief this pillow brings to my face" were Shoko's last words before the sweet embrace of the soft sheets bid her good night. The next morning Shoko can be found thoroughly wrapped in bed sheets refusing to wake up as Mirk sighs over her wondering what he can do to get her moving. He settles on wrapping around her leg and dragging her out of the bed. " Errr..mrffhfr.. MIRK!" With a thud, Shoko lands on the floor at the base of the bed and turns to face Mirk with an evil grin only to find his face an inch away. " You know what this means right?" She asks as her hands slowly inch their way towards Mirk, grasping at the air along the way. Mirk tilts his head before bopping her nose with his face and taking off across the room. " Oh no you don't!" Shoko yells out as she barely manages to grab his tail and proceeds to assault his most ticklish part. The sounds of a dragonair's desperate laughter are most likely heard outside, but Shoko continues to enact her revenge as the long body of her partner flails wildly. Thus another typical morning for Shoko begins. Shoko eventually ends her revenge and prepares for the day. She steps outside only to realize that the sun has come up only recently and flicks her coat right where Mirk's head is hiding. " Too early." With a sigh she makes her way over to the beach and pulls out her dowsing rods and spends 20 minutes combing the sands of the beach looking for some shards. She able to find 14 of them which she feverishly hugs begins to examine them all far too thoroughly. This was a good haul. She turns back to Mirk and releases Tilda for their morning stretches and talks with them about the things they can do in town. When Shoko mentions the gym leader they spoke to yesterday Tilda's eyes light up and she begins to dance around Shoko in excitement. " But... I don't want to... he talks... and..." Both Tilda and Mirk close in on her at eye level giving her an almost parental stare. " Okay... we'll go later. I guess we need some travel funds anyways. In the mean time, I want to see what else is around here. I didn't really expect to find so many shards..." Shoko applied exp training to Tilda and Mirk both last night and this morning. She then uses her dowsing rods twice to dig up 14 shards. She will then be on the look out for fishermen to see if she can get any info on the local aquatic life. Finally, she will be looking around the beach for anything else of value (possibly left behind by people) since this beach seemed to have lots of shards. As always, she'd like to keep an eye out for any red chain shards while she's at it.
She rolls a 19 for this perception roll.

Once shown to his room Horace plops down on the bed and falls asleep after returning Gulliver to his ball for a nights rest only to be woken up eight hours in by Gulliver releasing himself and shaking the bed. "Whats happeni... Never can sleep in with you around although that is kind of a good thing my pal well we should probably find another pal to come along before challenging that radical surfer dude bro over in the Gym wouldn't you agree?" Gulliver gives a thumbs up then the two head out to investigate the surrounding route for pokemon and mutations.
Before getting to the route Horace decides to stop by the beach and train with his two pokemon, "Finally somewhere not flammable... We can train without fear." After a series of explosions, minor burns, and practical jokes the three are ready for their day catching new pokemon. Horace then spends the rest of his morning looking around the most western route for any mutants or new companions.

Just like before the ferry journey from hell, it didn't take long for the group to disband for the evening and go their separate ways. This actually suited Axel just fine for the moment - it gave him some time to spend with his team and to get to know his newest captures. After a quick trip to the Pokémon Center Axel found himself back at the beach. An hour of intensive training later, the hunter was absolutely sure he wanted to keep the Sharpedo on his tea (now nicknamed Shrapnel) but wasn't as sold on the Jellicent. The researchers had mentioned wanting mutated Pokémon for study and he needed the money at the moment... A good night's sleep was swiftly followed by another session of training, after which Axel sent off the Jellicent for active study. Axel didn't really want to challenge the gym leader and so decided to see if the Pokémon Center had some kind of "Help Wanted" notice board by which he could earn some funds instead. He didn't need to define his skills by some shiny bits of metal after all. 2 lots of Training and Axel's party is now Focused. Jellicent sent off for Active Study. Perception Roll of 11 to find alternative means of earning money.

After their morning training, Karla and Axel met up at the hotel before heading to the nearest Pokemon Centre in search of work. On the digital noticeboard you see a paucity of relevant jobs.
There are the usual requests of course. Kids and parents looking for starter pokemon, complaints about local wild pokemon, locals on the lookout for rare items or for trade opportunities. The only thing that stands out is that most of the complaints are about the complete lack of fish in the waters around the city, with several people offering a reward for any solution to the problem.
On the beach Horace spots Shoko scanning the sand before he can leave for Route 2. Shoko doesn't see the Jester, instead glimpsing a gleam of red in the waters. As she focuses she realises it's a Remoraid with a red fishing lure in it's mouth, taunting a nearby fisherman. The fisherman has thrown his rod to the ground, the line obviously broken, as he yells a steady stream of invectives at the fish.

Noting the rather fuming fisherman, Shoko begins to make her way over to his broken line beckoning Mirk with her usual lack of outward enthusiasm, "Come Mirk. It's time to see a man about a fish pokemon." As she closes the distance, Shoko surveys the situation before asking, "You there. I require info about the fish pokemon here. What useful information do you ha-" Shoko cuts off releasing a mild squeek as she felt Mirk, who had once again wrapped around her, give her a disapproving squeeze. "I mean, um... I'd appreciate any information on the local aquatic life. If you don't mind..."

Horace continues to train with his pokemon occasionally giving a look towards Shoko's direction curious about what she is doing. "Hey Shoko! Its me! What are you doing over here?" Horace shouts shamelessly from far away before remembering he is trying to teach his pokemon to stay focused during battles and putting his "serious" face back on. Until something that Horace perceives as important happens he continues to train his pokemon and will leave to go to the Route if an hour passes by. and will leave to go to the Route if an hour passes by.

Karla turns to Axel after checking the board, gesturing to it "I suppose the most relevant of these is the local fish one... I don't really feel like dealing with any more of those waters just yet though... Maybe we could check out the local route instead? There's some trouble with local wild Pokémon. What do you think?"

"They're all gone." The fisherman says, glaring at Mirk. "Well, most o'em. The sharpshooter stuck around to torment me, probably after one last easy meal." He sighs and picks up his rod. "We usually get the fish in close. Finneon, Magikarp, Remoraid and the Basculin the idiot tourists introduced. The amphibians too - Shellos, Piplup and Krabby. The deeper critters like Tentacool, Clamperl, Gyarados and Chinchou only end up here if there's a storm." He starts packing up his fishing gear. "O'Course nothing ever scares 'em all off like this. Either we're due fer a storm tha'll destroy the harbour or some'ns got 'em good an scared. The entire city's noticed. Since the tourism 'll vanish if the flying fish don't show they'd have to notice." He frowns as the Remoraid leaps out of the water and hits him with a jet of water square in the eye. "You could ask him o'course. 'e was here afore me and'll probably be here after."

"I concur Ms Loan... after that ocean voyage I'm think I'm much more at home on land. I know Gauss would appreciate staying away from the water for a while."
Axel's Luxray growled at the mention of water, shooting a worried look in the direction of the beach.

" Mirk, could you? I don't think I'm the best for this." Mirk tilts his head back at her momentarily before turning back forward and slithering towards the Remoraid. Along the way, Mirk begins mouthing silently again as if to say " Oh yes, send me to do the talking... big surprise~." In the mean time, Shoko reaches into her coat and grabs another ball, " Tilda, go look over the waters would you?" She releases her Vivillon as she turns back to the fisherman. " I'll see what I can do," she says nonchalantly before approaching the water's edge, though not too near the remoraid. She then reaches down to the sand drawing an X and an O; she then plops down next to them waiting for Tilda and Mirk to return. Mirk rolls a 9 on his 3d6 to interact with the remoraid. Tilda rolls a 23 on her perception to see anything else within the water.
Finally, Shoko has drawn an X and an O to play 20 questions with her mon to get a good idea of any information they each received.

The Remoraid happily swims around in circles as Mirk approaches. Look at him fume! He gloats. Pity he's giving up so early. Must be because the cowards ran away. What do you want watch dog?
Karla and Axel make their way to Route 221, located north of Seagarden. Once there you can make out 3 distinct areas to locate pokemon - the honey trees, the small saltwater lake and the picturesque grassy plains. <tell me where you're going and roll me perception>

Mirk: "Feisty for one so small. Did you drive off everything else in the lake too?"Remoraid: "And lose out on their whining? Nah, they got spooked by all the crab things that kept fighting the wobblers. After they lost the wimps decided to run before the claws came for them"Mirk: "But not you? Not scared of... wait crab things? what crab things?"Remoraid: "You mustn't be local at all. The metal crab guys are who I'm on about. The little ones are just heads and feet in shells. Not intimidating but there's always loads of them and they're always followed by the big ones and they have huge claws."Mirk: "Huh, well if you're still around, you must have a lot of guts. I can appreciate that in a mon. Hold up~" (Mirk slithers back towards Shoko's bag and starts rummaging through it. After grabbing 2 lemonades out of shoko's bag he returns to the remoraid) Remoraid: "Like a gang of weaklings are going to intimidate me. The wobblers couldn't, nor could the sharks or the slugs before them”(Remoraid is constantly swimming in circles and generally showing of his skills)[/font] Remoraid: "What's that?" Mirk: "Heh, here. Consider this a thanks for the info so far. " (Mirk places a lemonade into the sand and pierces the top gently with his horn) Mirk: "It's a good drink. So where are those guys now?""(The Remoraid hops from the water and starts drinking straight from the perforated can. After finishing he lets loose a short burst of water, pushing himself back into the water.) Remoraid: "That was great. I feel like a bubble!"(Remoraid frantically swims around for several moments, clearly full of sugary energy) Remoraid: "Good stuff. The crabs didn't really say anything, but they'll probably be coming in with the next tide. They probably won't bother the humans for a day or two - they definitely aren't the sort to do anything without loads of friends to watch."Mirk: "That so? Well, you see that human over there... the short one with the coat? She's looking to get the town to owe her a favor by dealing with these crabs."Remoraid: "Really? Well, I'm definitely the 'mon you want to help. I know the waters better than anyone else, and everyone else left already so there isn't even a choice. Plus I'm the sharpest shooter you'll ever meet. Ask the chump walking away - I've never missed my target"Mirk: "Heh, yeah definitely a clean hit if I ever saw one. So, aside from having some fun at the crab's expense, what do you think about joining up with me and her? You'd probably get to fight some actually tough enemies. Heck just yesterday we fought off a Sharpedo, some jellicent gang, and a friend took out some tentacruel that attacked our ship."Remoraid: "You guys took out both lots of wobblers? That's actually impressive." (Remoraid slowly drifts in thought) Remoraid: "Alright. But she's just another weakling I'll be leaving before you know it."Mirk: "Excellent, hold on a sec. I'm gonna go fetch one of her balls."(Mirk once slithers towards Shoko rummaging through her bag.... earning another raised eyebrow from Shoko. He grabs a pokeball out of her bag with his mouth and returns to the Remoraid.) Mirk: "Mhmmfffbhh hmmfffhhb, fhh?"Remoraid: "Heh. Maybe you should be the trainer and she should fight."(Remoraid says before hitting the pokeball's button with a precise jet of water and letting it capture him.) (Kagemaru, OOC): Implying Mirk isn't thje one in charge Mirk: "Soon enough, she's not ready for that just yet..."(Mirk replies in a serious tone before turning back to Shoko and delivering the ball to her.)
