"...just think about it, okay?" he says. "That's all I'm asking. I know that things like that can be scary. But I've found that having more friends is better." It's really awkward craning his neck up like that, but he does have to admit that she does have a smooth, delicate touch. Definitely has a gentle side... even if she's not wanting to share that with others. That'll come with time, though, he's sure.

"Tsarrr." She sighs into a bit of a purr, settling back into Thel's lap and resting her head on his chest and shoulder, an arm draped around his waist. The grass type seems at last content, though her trainer might not have gotten the answer he was looking for.

He sighs mirthfully and gives her a bit more brushing time for a few minutes, before saying "Okay, I'm going to get the others. You can stay if you want, or you can be on your own in the ball if you don't want to interact with them. Either way's fine, though I do hope that you find some fun interacting with the others. If you're happy with alone brushing time and whatnot, we can do some of that sometime too, though."

The Pokédex beeps on, but Muku only half listens. Her eyes follow the trainer as he walks down the hall, ice thing cupped for his forehead. Once she was convinced that the trainer was far enough away so as to not be heard, Muku quickly turns to Terra and addresses her in a low whisper. "Ok. So we may be here to help out that guy, but I think we also have to be here to help out Sandy. That room is way, way too small for a Pokémon who is so big. And that guy? I think someone needs to teach him to be more attentive and have more spine as a trainer."
Swinging her arms around her chin, she pauses to consider the current situation. "First things first, I think we really ought to get Sandy outside. The Pokeball will probably help with that and we know that it likes candy. It might not hurt to address any other needs to help her mood a bit, but I'm pretty bad about that."
She turns around and reaches into her bag before pulling out a positively mothball ridden piece of honey covered in leaves and little furry blue things. Not her problem, but definitely not something they wanted to feed to a Pokémon. It was repulsive, so she looked both ways and chucked into the room they had just come from. Calling back to the trainer, she asks, "Hey! Does Sandy have a Pokéball? We're thinking we may want to work with her outside for this."

The information that the pokedex gave them, she took in thoughtfully. Attention being pulled away as she noticed the owner leaving the room with his ice pack. A frown forming at this action. "Agreed. He needs to take a more active role with his pokemon," Terra states in a serious tone. "Makes no sense to only work with Sandy, when its a partnership."
The sight of the honey covered in various things made her wrinkle her nose some at the thought of the textures that it would have. However it wasn't for her, so that made it a little better.
"Being outside will be better probably," Terra backed up Muku's reasoning for the pokeball. So that they weren't as cramped, and so that there'd be lesser chances of things breaking. "Do you want to join us and take notes?" A firm suggestion put forth as she watches the Hippowdon through the door way.

"She's never had a ball..." He admits, appearing in the doorway again, but looks to have put on a light jacket, encouraged by the girls to actively take an interest in what's going on. "She was always the sweetest thing..." He murmurs. "We might be able to get her out the sliding glass doors in the back? I... I think I have a screwdriver somewhere... I could get the doors off." Sandy gapes her mouth at the girls at the mention of a ball, shuffling to face them and her trainer.

At the very suggestion of taking the door off, Muku quickly shakes her head. "No, no. That might do for a temporary solution, but if you're looking to solve this long term, you really ought to consider using a Pokéball. It makes transporting a Pokémon much easier and if it gets sick or hurt, you don't have to worry so much about moving them. I mean, I used to be a bird and I sort of hated the idea then, but, but, I think if I knew now what I knew about them, then I wouldn't be so worried about it. So. Don't worry about it."
Not pausing to allow the man to consider the absolutely wild statement she just made, Muku reaches into her bag and produces a light-green ball with dots ringing the top. "This one is for you. A freebie. I think I got a few of these from Whitney after I got a badge from her. This one in particular is called a Friend Ball, which I think help Pokémon keep happy about the whole ball thing."

Not having a ball, that sounded odd. Didn't most people that had pokemon have some sort of ball for them? An look of uncertain curiosity on her face for a moment.
Nods of agreement being given in line with Muku's statements of positive uses of a pokeball. "Pokeballs are very useful, definitely worth having it. In case of emergencies." Then looking back to Sandy for a moment.
She was curious to see how much room they had outside the house. Considering being on the outskirts of town and such. "Ready to go outside?" she asked the pokemon watching her.

"I'll... uhm... I'll try..." He moves slowly across the living room, hand outstretched to try to calm the Hippowdon, moving to the side each time she swung her open mouth towards him with those gigantic peg-like teeth. "Now Sandy, these people are here to help you... we're going to go outside, you used to like outside, remember?" The mouth closed slightly, but the hippo-like creature continued its heavy, angry breathing. "If we put you in a Pokeball, then you could be outside." At the suggestion there was a short warning chuff and Sandy took a quick pair of steps towards her trainer, mouth full open.

“Now that’s enough.” Muku shot sharply, interposing herself between Jasper and Sandy. Pulling the trainer back, she continues. “Jasper, that’s a good start, but you need to be a bit more firm. You can’t just let a Pokémon stomp all over you; you have to let them know who the flock leader is. You have to set the tone of the conversation, not Sandy.”
She purses her lips. “Terra, if you wouldn’t mind, I want work Jasper through some exercises. If you can get Sandy in a better mood, I think we can try this again in a moment or two.”

The girl watched him with a close gaze. He needed a lot more confidence, this would never do! Once Muku pulled Jasper back, Terra rotated her shoulders some. "Yeah, I'll see what I can do." She steps up, taking a position between the other two humans and the upset pokemon. "Now listen here. I don't know how much he pampered you. But you are bigger and stronger than before. So we are here," Terra motions to Muku and herself. "To make sure that you both get along and that he takes proper care of you. However!" Her voice is firm and she keeps an intense glare on the hippo pokemon before her. "We will not stand for this type of behavior. Do you understand?" The human standing straight and not wavering in her speech while addressing their client's pokemon. Intimidation Roll: 28

"She was big before, now she's big and hostile! How am I supposed to deal with that?" Jasper's face scrunched up as he protested. "I didn't have to give her orders before, she was part of the family... like a... pet or something!"
Sandy kept her mouth wide and tossed her head in Terra's general direction but didn't approach. When the trainer held her ground, tone, and eye position. Slowly, very slowly, the mouth worked itself closed. The Hippowdon turned its head to one side and averted its attention from Terra.

Muku rolls her eyes. How could anyone miss things so... Basic? Calmly, she leads him back into the foyer and sits him down. "That might have been a dynamic that worked before, but some Pokémon change when they evolve. Take Starly for example. They like to be in big, big nests together. Being around people they like, make them real happy. But when a Starly gets stronger, it evolves into a bigger bird. And if gets real strong, it becomes biggest bird. Biggest bird realizes that it's too strong to stay with the nest. Biggest bird is independent. He's had too many beeps so he leaves and lives on his own. Simple? Simple."
She bites her lip. This conversation was rapidly steering towards the uncomfortable. With a broad swing of the wheel, she turns ship Muku back on course. "That's not always true though. That some Pokémon change. My Quagsire, Woopie Goldsire. She's always helping me out in bad situations. I rely on her a lot. Or Hornise. She likes to battle, but she can also be really gentle and loves the taste of honey. Mmip, my Jumpluff, she's evolved twice but she's always been really, really happy and I don't know why. Maybe it's a Jumpluff thing. Anyways, that's not the point. The point is, maybe there's a bit of nice Sandy in Sandy. And, and if that's the case, she might be grumpy or worried about something else. If that's the case, then I think Terra might be able to figure that out. What I'm worried about, is you. We're gonna work on you Jasper."

Terra would leave Jasper to Muku, after all it seemed that she at least established a distinct power of order here. "There we are, better," she spoke in a calmer tone seeing that Sandy had stopped the threatening display.
"I bet you feel a lot of different things now that you're bigger huh?" she asks. Her posture stayed confident as she approached slowly. "That means you have different needs too. We're going to make sure Jasper knows that," she states. "I bet going outside would feel a lot better than what you're on right now." Fresh soil had to absolutely feel better than the wood and other human made materials that had been destroyed into a makeshift nest!

"Work on me? What have I done wrong? Yeah... Sandy's body and attitude have changed drastically, and I didn't know how to deal with that... but that's why you two are here right? Once she's out of her rough patch it'll all be smooth sailing and we can go back to just being friends again..." Jasper presses hopefully, folding his hands in his lap and fidgeting under Muku's intense stare.
The Hippowdon lets out a deep grunt, to the affirmative or negative Terra can't really tell, though she does give Terra a side-eye at the mention of going outside again. There is a clear spark of interest. She waddles up to the glass door and squishes her nose against it.

"It's not that you've done anything wrong, it's just that you are wrong." Muku posits helpfully. "Being nice is great, but it's not good when your Pokémon walks all over you. It sends a bad message. The kind of message that, 'yes, I accept the way you're treating me'."
Withholding a breathy sigh of frustration, Muku turns inward. Jasper was without a doubt the most pathetic creature she had ever laid eyes upon. And that included Pidgeys. But, and this was important, she wasn't going to get paid unless she offered him some kind of tangible help. Muku had to help him somehow. But how? Muku was a trainer of Starly, not a trainer of men. Unless she was a trainer of men. Her eyebrow cocks skyward and she rises up from her chair.
"Ok, ok. Stand up for me. You standing? Good. What you and I are going to do is work on your stance. Not like, martial arts. Like, how you go into a conversation with Sandy. How you see that conversation playing out. Practicing those key words. 'Sandy, I know you're worried, but I want to give you a Pokéball so I can get you outside easily.' I want you to say that, legs spread, hands open, chin up. Stand your ground, spiritually and physically. No, not like that. You look like that, and it already looks like you've lost the argument already. I see it, Sandy sees it, the Pidgeys see it. You want the Pidgeys judging you? No? No. Nobody likes that. Let's breathe and take it from the top..."

Well, she wasn't trying to bite her at the moment, so that was good enough for now at least.
Once Sandy was moving towards the glass door, Terra would shift to be out of her way. There was a slight smile at seeing the way she pushed her snout to the door. "If you let him put you in a ball now, I'll take you outside right after. How's that sound? Fair deal. We can find a nice spot, in the sun or shade, which ever you like more," she offered. The trainer had already made her case clear that she wouldn't stand for any tricky business. So she was now taking a less threatening approach for the time being.

"Okay okay... I can do this, no need to get so... uh... you sure do talk about birds a lot..." Jasper comments, as he does his best to follow Muku's instructions. He seems to have the posture right, but the presence isn't quite there. It's too soft, much, much too soft! It must be in his eyes. How they hold themselves softly.
The Hippowdon squishes its face a little harder against the glass and starts to push, short claws digging into the carpet as her legs braced to push. The idea of going outside is firmly lodged in its head, but whatever she has against Pokeballs, Terra couldn't say.

It looked like the pokeball at the moment was out of the question. Terra reached out to take a hold of the door's handle and pulled it towards the side to slide it open. Maybe they could squeeze her out somehow. Better than letting Sandy just break the glass. "Alright, we'll get you out of here," she states in a straight tone.

“I don’t talk about birds a lot, you talk about birds a lot.” Her lips curling into a slight frown, Muku concedes. Flocks weren’t built in a day. This guy didn’t have enough guts. Those guts, the guts necessary to put his foot down, weren’t going to magically appear after one session.
Her sharp ears twitch at the sound of the glass door opening. They were going outside? Probably, but didn’t Jasper say she was a bit too big for that? “Go grab that screwdriver. I think Sandy and Terra are trying to get out. Maybe a little fresh air would help me think on this too...”
