There is a vivid cheer of a crowd gathered around one of the tables, and the procession makes its way over to the counter at the end. Respectfully they remain to the side as not to clutter the space, as a little girl slides a pile of the Koban style coins over the counter and points at a Pokeball resting on a purple velvet pillow on the top shelf. A moment passes and she is practically bouncing, a tawny brown and white canid with large shiny eyes and an enormously fluffy tail looking about excitedly in her arms and licking her face as she passes the pair and heads out the door.
The case jingles pleasantly in Terra's hold.

Thel hurries after Terra once he notices that she's wandered off. "Oh, that's just adorable," Thel breathes, looking at the Eevee. He's reminded of the one that he was considering back in the Gym, but ultimately decided against. "I still don't know what exactly's done here, though..." he says to the attendant. "And, sorry, have you seen Muku here?"

"Can't say that we have, but we do get a lot of characters in the Games Corner!" He responds before wandering off to the next set of incoming patrons.

Muku takes the owl-face's withering grin on the chin, mustering as much courage as she could to do so. "I'll take care of it, sir. Promise!"
And in a moment, it was over. She had acquired a bike. She had defeated the owl's test to do so. Her heart fluttered. She was so much stronger now! Perhaps even invincible! On her way out, she bought a small manual; just in case. Muku needed to do right by him. Now she could.
Gliding out to the street, she looks both ways and tried to find a straightaway. She had the concept; now she just needed proof that she could do this. Yes. That she could fly.

"Do you want to stay here, in case she comes by?" Thel asks Terra, "Since this seems like a place she'd be attracted to. Or... go in search for her? Or what?" He's still very confused about this whole place.

This was an interesting way to see pokemon be acquired. Not by catching or battling, but by trading the coins over for them.
"We can stay for a bit, in case she does show up. Makes no sense to keep running around with no idea where she is," Terra comments. At least enough time for them to catch their breath. Since he had said it seemed like it would attract Muku.
"I think, I'm going to see if I can learn how this place works," she stated with a nod, looking down to her jingling case of coins.

"Alright, sounds good enough," Thel says, nodding. "Yeah, I don't really know how it works, either..."

The straightaways were easy enough to find, as the bicycle shop sits along the main drag, and Muku was soon flying up the street with all due speed, frightening pedestrians and Pokemon alike, wind rippling along her clothes. In her hurry, even slowing down to grab the manual, the bike owner hadn't gotten to mention safety equipment. Helmetless, her hair fluttered wildly behind, feeling like proper tail feathers.
Observing the slots, the objective seemed to be to match the symbols, with each column and machine moving at different speeds. Voltorb Flip seems much more complicated, with rows of cards being laid out. An initial bet is made, and that bet is multiplied by multiplier cards, or wiped out completely by finding a Voltorb. It also allows you to walk away from the table with your winnings at any time.
(Both games operate on Perception or Intuition, your choice. Three rolls from the skill of choice. You start with 100 Coins each.)

Thel does his best with trying to get the hang of things, trying a little bit of each of the activities. He doesn't think he's that good at flipping Voltorbs, but the slots thing seems to be suspiciously little effort. It can't seriously be that easy to get things for such a simple task, right? Intuition: 13, 13, 8

A simple premise, she decides after watching the slots. Taking seat at one of the slot machines she places a few coins in, before activating the spinning function. How hard could it be anyway? Oh boy, both those skills are the same. Bet: 20 (unless its a set number) Perception: _hQrBS1w2d6 2d6 2d6 2d6·2d6·2d6

Breathless, Muku takes her feet off the pedals and glides for a bit as her body rolls with joyous twittering. This was FANTASTIC! She didn't know she could get her body to go this fast! Is this what humans do? She chings the bell again, warning a poor mother and child of her encroaching advance as she swerves dangerously close. The child cries out in fear. Is this the end of their little life? No, Muku was not negligent. That was why she had the bell! She deftly guides the bike out of their path, laughing all the way. Ah yes. Scaring children. This must be normal human activity. How fun!
But all fun comes to an. Eventually, she reluctantly brakes carefully and looks around. They had come here for a reason, right? Right? Yes! Thel and ah, Terra. They had all separated. Thel was getting shiny things. Terra was an inexplicable enigma who wouldn't share food, but she did battle good, so maybe she was looking into battle goods. Maybe? It was sun past half sky, so afternoon. Oh. They probably needed to meet up. That made her uncomfortable, the feeling of relative isolation welling up inside her once more.
Well not completely alone. She had Mmip. She had Hornise. She had Beak.
Easy. Breathe in, breathe out. Ok. She had a strategy for this. They probably have excellent hearing like all Pokémon do. All she needed to do was get their attention. Easy? Easy. Muku mounts up on the bike and begins her journey to each shop. At each stop, she would stop, ring her bell, and then look into the windows. If she didn't get the response she was looking for she would move on.
Yes. This was normal human finding human behavior. She was certain of it.

Time passes... Thel comes away with 3400 additional coins. Terra comes away with 340 additional. You aren't really sure how long you've been at this, but you can keep playing, the coins are so easy to get! The noises the machines make are exciting every time you win, the lights are hypnotizing in their own special way!
Muku gets many curious looks, but none seem to be from the friends she is searching for as she makes passes shop to shop. The sun moves further across the sky, and after awhile she takes to realizing that Goldenrod is very big. Also that biking starts to make you tired eventually. It still feels really great to have the wind blow through your hair though! You move near the big metal thing sticking out of a building and ring your bell... still nothing. You do spot the girl from earlier that had been watching you and Thel, before you met Terra.

For a time, it's fun... but it's a hollow fun. It's novel, getting more stuff feels nice... but it's not really what he craves. It's just him, alone. Surrounded by people, yes, but there was no real interaction. It was... an empty crowd. If that made sense. Energy, but not life. Excitement, but no togetherness. The realization just... kills his desire to stay. Muku wasn't here. There was no real point to it. All he did was get some... well, coins. He figures that he should see what he can get, though, before finding Terra. So, with that, he wanders up to the counter, coins in hand.

On inspecting the prize counters there are actually two, specializing in different goods. At the first is something called a TM, shiny disks sitting on pillows with fancy names like Fire Blast, and Solar beam but these are a ridiculous number of those coins. It would be a few days if you kept winning as you had before there were enough coins.
At the second counter, there were Pokemon options!
Eevee - 3000 Dratini - 3000 Misdreavus - 3000 Klink - 3000 Bounsweet - 2000 Darumaka - 2000 Feebas - 2000 Tyrogue - 2000 Chatot - 2000 Pikachu - 1500 Abra - 1500 Murkrow - 1500 Sewaddle - 1500 Croagunk - 1500 Phanpy - 1500 Bonsly - 1500 Snubbull - 1500

Muku kicks the bike talon, anchoring her prize from falling over. This was the second time she had seen her. This girl was starting to get real annoying. Why was she there? Why was she watching? Was she watching? Muku pushes her bike up against the wall of the metal tower building.
Well. She wasn't scared anymore. In fact, she wasn't scared of anything. It was about time to get some answers.
Tensing, the young girl takes a deep breath. In and out. Ready? Ready. Her feet kick up dirt as she turns to face the stalker. Muku marches at the girl with purpose. Vitriolic words spring from her mouth as she points at her and cries out, "Hey. You. Yeah you. Why you watching me huh? Why you watching me?!"

While the brown quadruped he'd seen in the Gym and the blue serpent both intrigue him... in the end, he goes for a happy, bouncing little plant. There's still enough (he thinks) that Terra should be able to get something, so he goes over to her saying, "I got a Pokémon at the counter. You can use the rest of my coins to get one yourself, if you want. After that... we should go find Muku." Thel spends 2000 coins on Bounsweet.

The coins were easy to obtain yes, but the time that passed for how many she received were not worth her time. Especially after seeing other patrons that had won more than she had. Rising to her feet, she gives the machine a good glare. Despite that machines could not be intimidated, she gave off a very strong presence around her. Shaking her head she steps away. It was not worth her energy to fight the bright and noisy thing.
At the back where the prizes were displayed, she stared at the pokeballs, seeming to think over it, when Thel offered to share his coins. "I'll wait for now, we're not leaving town right away. So you can hold onto them," she answers with a nod of appreciation. They could always come back later, after all Thel said Muku might like this place. She pushes her own coins into the holding case before turning away from the prizes and walks out of the building with Thel. "Okay, now where do we look..." she says glancing around while seeing how late in the day it had gotten while they were inside.

Afternoon having crept on towards evening now, the bustle has slowed at least enough that a particularly shrill aggressive fweeting from Muku can be heard the block over, where Thel and Terra now stand.
The girl merely smiles at Muku and slips into a darkened alleyway, the audacity of that mocking grin only further incentive to follow out of sight of the road.

"...that seems like a good place to start." Thel says, hearing the Muku-noise, and gesturing in that direction. He hurries that way, though his spoils of war aren't exactly easy to run in, compared to what he was wearing before.

“What an obnoxious blackbird you are.” Muku exclaims with a scowl. This was pointless. She turned back to her bike to leave, but stops thinking better of it. This girl could be a threat. Threats to the plock needed to be neutralized.
Logical.
She stops just long enough to check her hair and then follows the blackbird girl deeper into the shadows. “Stupid, stupid. You can’t run from me! I will beat you sideways!”
