Habanero is not having a good day, as his own attack misses... and then he gets a paralysing jolt of electricity from the dog's fangs, overloading his system, and making him black out. The dog howls triumphantly over its fallen foe, as another gets a good nip in on Keahi, and the other, still panting, runs up to take a bite into the 'mon that took out one of its pack, its fangs momentarily dripping with venom as it bites into an egg. It looks like the burn's take a toll on it, and it's on its last legs, but it's still a good chomp. It stares defiantly at Theo, despite looking about ready to fall over. Salandit takes 22 damage from Bite, and is Flinched. Quilava takes 33 damage, Flinches, is Paralyzed, and Faints from Thunder Fang. A critical hit! Exeggcute takes 21 damage from Poison Fang. Map

Theodore cracked his knuckles, standing over the Poochyena as he was. Cheeky little varmint, but Theodore had no interest in a Pokemon that thought four on one was a good time. He wound way back for a haymaker and swung at the little dog. zfLi3uSj1d20 Struggle Vs. Poochyena (P4) 1d8+11 Normal Physical
There was a loud smacking sound as he connected, Six rounding on the threat that had just downed Hab, unleashing another wave of seed bullets.

The dog falls to Theo's whacking, but Six isn't quite so fortuitous, it's target moving far swifter than the exhausted one in front of it's Trainer. The Zigzagoon, too, seems to slow a little, panting from the running. P4 Faints from Struggle. Exeggcute misses with Bullet Seed.

Kai looks at Keahi, a bit concerned at how she was looking before shaking his head and pointing at the Poochyena with fervor. "Get yourself together, Keahi. You can hit it if you actually try!"Following orders, Keahi opens up her maw to fire yet another blast of flame at the Poochyena, firing a blast that was significantly more accurate than the past ones. When Habenero went down, Coles eyes filled with fire and he stalked forward, recalling the Quilava and staring down the Poocheyena that did it. He was blind to everything else, having grown tired of the constant missing, and every fight going poorly for him since the moment he bonded with the mega stone. He would have to solve this himself.
As he neared Theodore, he began stretching his shoulders, before cracking his knuckles and getting into position to charge the wild Pokemon himself

Keahi at last downs the Poochyena that she's been fighting, while the last remaining one looks miffed that its prey has been stolen. That one was big, too! So, it goes for the even bigger prey around, the one that took out its compatriot. Unfortunately for it, Theo's pants prove a little bit less conductive to electricity than it's used to, so all he feels is a slight tingle and some pinpricks for teeth. P1 Faints from Ember. P3 misses with Thunder Fang.

"Not a quitter in the bunch." Theo let out a little sigh and flicked the brim of his hat up, tucking his hands into his pockets and taking a halfhearted kick at the Poochyena. The swift kick and tossed spheres at the Poochyena leave it fairly weak. However much grandeur it seems to imagine itself... it's still a small dog. Meanwhile, the Zigzagoon continues to make its way away from the fighting. Theo hits with Struggle. P3 takes 2 injuries from Barrage.

Keahi gave a look at Kai, wanting orders on what to do next now that the one that was attacking her was down. Kai took a moment to look around, noticing there was only one real threat left. "Take out the last Poochyena, stand a bit away and keep yourself out of reach!"Keahi marched around the tree and stood beside it, launching a blast of flame straight at the last Poochyena as she came to a stop. Meanwhile, Kai ran around the bush, catching sight of the fleeing Zigzagoon and deciding to chance it one last time, chucking another ball at the fleeing raccoon, praying that it works. The last dog falls from the flames, as Kai's ball strikes true and swiftly clicks shut, the raccoon tired out. With that, quiet once more falls in the forest. Well... at least until the birdsong all starts up again. Poochyena Faints. Kai caught a Zigzagoon! Kai runs on over to the newly caught Pokemon, picking the ball up off the ground and turning back around after he does and walking back to Keahi, giving her a pat on the head. "You did good out there, but maybe we need to work on our aim a bit? I feel like this would have been over way faster if we could have kept your aim true Keahi."
He gave a sigh as he looked over her injuries, pulling out her ball and returning her. "Putting you away so you don't get more injured, rest well!" With that, he looked around a bit, realizing that he had a ball to find, walking over to the bush he thought he threw it in and looking around to see if it survived the chaos. "Looking for my ball guys, let me know if you see it!"

Cole was moving up to the Poocheyena, ready to fight it himself, when Keahi blasted it with an Ember and took it out of the fight. A long exhale later, Cole looked around casually to see if he saw Kai's Pokeball. He searched for a few moments, but eventually shrugged and started to walk back towards the road "With mine and Habs luck today, I'm starting to think that Mega Stone we bonded with was cursed or something" He said to no one in particular
This had just been a frustrating day so far, but Cole just wanted to get to Oldale, get Habenero healed up, and move on, making the best of the next day, and the rest after that.

Theodore, having long since practiced the 'ranged precision' routine with Magnificent Six found Kai's missing Pokeball fairly quickly. He'd have been content to watch the fight unfold if the odds hadn't been so heavily in favor of the small canines. After returning the empty ball, he proceeded to move the Poochyena into a little pile in the undergrowth. "Even if they're a bunch of gits, leavin'em at anybody's mercy don't seem right." He comments to Kai, before following along after Cole, the Exeggcute in tow.

After pushing away the dogs, and retrieving Kai's wayward Pokéball, the group heads back to the path, to progress with less wild Pokémon jumping them. Being down one's only Pokémon is not a good time to go traipsing through the woods.
For several hours, the path is relatively quiet. There's the occasional other traveler going the other way, but no more Pokémon jump out. Coming to a clearing, though, there's a handful of creatures within. A purple and a blue... rodent? Lizard-rabbit? ...quadruped of some sort, the purple one with a horn, the blue with whiskers, are nibbling on grass. Near them, three plants rest, soaking up sunlight, out of munching range. Two are bulbous blue plants with three fronds sticking up, while the other is a pink Pokémon with two leaves almost acting as a propeller, bobbing it up and down lightly.

Cole was mostly silent for the first bit of the walk, still kicking himself for how poorly he had done today. After a little while though, he did his best to get over it and went back to cracking bad jokes and talking about how it was good that he did so poorly this early, since he was just getting all his bad luck out of the way now.
Once they reached the clearing he stopped and looked on, trying to decide what he should do. A few seconds later, he looked over at Kai and held out a hand "Please don't just attack them if you want one" He says with a bit of a giggle, but deep down he meant it. He didn't have another fight in him today, and after the Alolan had attacked the Zigzagoon while it was running away, he felt the need to make sure it wasn't going to be a regular occurrence.
Crouching down and looking a bit closer at all of the different Pokemon, he scratched the back of his head before looking at the other two "But really, should we just like...try and go around or what?"

Kai gives a pointed look at Cole, his eyebrow twitching for a moment. "I literally explained that I attacked it because it was running, Don't act like I'm going to attack every Pokemon, cause we'd still be stuck in Littleroot if that were true" He began mumbling near the end, not quite that invested in keeping this conversation up. Kai sighed to himself after grumbling, realizing he was just being upset cause of first impressions. He needed to pick himself up and show the other two that he wasn't just a battle maniac! "Obviously, if you want to walk past you be polite about it, walk up and have a small conversation...Like this!" With that, Kai began to walk on up to the group of Pokemon, deciding to focus on the grassy ones over the lizard rabbit things. "Well hello there! Having fun sunbathing?" He flashed them a smile and held out a hand to show he wasn't really a threat. Charm: 13

Theodore stuffs his hands in his pockets and admires the Nidoran lightly chewing on the grass, Exeggcute grumbling to itself next to him, bouncing to a slow stop. "They're a lot like horny toads, pink one's way pointier though. Wonder if they'd make a good partner?" Theodore took a moment to fish his dex out of the inside pocket of his vest, and flipped it open. His tongue poked out of the corner of his mouth, and he aimed it at the light blue one before hitting the button, having intended for the pink one.

Cole stood back and watched the other two, still sort of wanting to avoid the Pokemon completely. His eyes flicked between all of them but he didn't make any movement just yet. He kept an especially close eye on Kai since he was actually approaching the wild Pokemon. His hands rested at his sides, but he was ready to run in and help if need be

The lizard-bunnies tense as Kai walks closer, but hold their ground - especially as he doesn't head for them - while the plants don't seem to care overly much about his presence. They seem more interested in the sun than a person.
Meanwhile, Theo's PokéDex reads Nidoran: The Poison Pin Pokémon. The spikes on their bodies are highly toxic. Males have a large horn - the larger, the more poisonous - while the females have a much smaller but even deadlier one. Nidoran is an unusual species, and mystifies researchers. While many Pokémon have differences in appearance based on appearance, sometimes becoming much more diverse upon evolution, Nidoran is entirely different from the moment of hatching, following an entirely separate development track.

"Well ain't that something, boys n girls are different." Theodore chuckled. "Poison ain't sporting, but I guess you can't help how you was born needuran." Theodore approached the spiny rabbit lizards. "See yer having a meal with your best gal, I ain't one to interrupt romance, but you wanna come on the long road to bein a man with me?"
