Theodore admired the very large bee, and then the even larger group of coordinated bees shaped like a bigger bee. That was certainly something. It was daunting, but he knew enough about Six to know they didn't like bugs in the slightest. Well that didn't bode well. Six Pokemon against one didn't seem fair, but on the other end of things, he wasn't sure if King Sting counted as one Pokemon. He rubbed his chin in consternation before shrugging it off. It'd sort itself out.
"Fred!" He whistled, throwing the Pokeball for his Growlithe. "Here boy!"
Fred goes on 4. Theodore binds Trick Shot as a priority orders on Fred, and one other Pokemon at their trainer's discretion.

Cole listened intently to the Gym Leader as he spoke, showing a quiet deference that seemed a far cry from his usual behavior. He seemed to have more respect for the Leader than he had even had for the Professor. But the moment that Casimir mentioned his Pokemon wanting to regain some pride for a loss, Cole let out a sound somewhere between a grunt and a scoff " I know what it's like to want to regain the lost pride after failing against those same girls. But the problem is I can't go about losing any ground against them, not if I want to prove that I'M the one who's going to be champion" He threw a ball out towards the massive swarm of bees, the Wingull from before materializing. Kai had the right idea saving their powerhouses for later. He wanted to get a feel for the foe before sending out Habenero anyways " Alright Kale, let's whip up a storm in your debut. This is just a stepping stone on our path to greatness, but the first step is the most important!" Cole is at Initiative 5 and Kale the Wingull at 15

"Pride and ego can be a good motivator," Casimir says, stretching his arms around, all casual, "but, you have to be prepared to take a fall. Losing cannot be allowed to crush you. Do not revolve your entire being around winning. Shoot for the moon, yes, but keep in mind that, for most, the top of the mountains will be the most realistic they can hope to climb. There is only one champion, after all."Chingling and Wingull are up first. Map

Kai pointed, maybe a bit to dramatically, at the giant bee swarm thing and barked out an order for Kani. "Smash him with your Confusion!" Kani obliged, floating up close and firing off a psychic blast of Confusion.... though it was very confused about why it was fighting bees in such number. It rang it's displeasure of the surprise in a sort of grumbling ring, especially since it was given orders by another person, if Theo's eyes looking at it were anything to go by. The Wingull responded well to Coles order, gliding forward on a draft before expanding for a moment, quickly returning to its regular size as a gout of water blasts out into the swarm of bees. The trainer smiled, his first hit connecting and restoring a bit of his lost confidence. This was a good start, but they would need more if they were gonna win. The blasts of psychic energy and water cause some of the bees to drop... but there are yet more bees in the swarm, and the damage just seems to irritate the ones that are left. The swarm moves up, getting right in between the two 'mon that had just attacked it, before swinging around the drill arms composed of bees, striking at the two 'mon with tremendous force. The Wingull is knocked right out of the air, while Kani gets trapped inside the swarm for a few moments and is jabbed from every direction before being spat out, unconscious and severely injured from the attack... Chingling hits with Confusion! Wingull hits with Water Gun! Chingling takes 126 damage, 6 injuries, is Poisoned, and Faints from Brutal Swing. A critical hit! Wingull takes 88 damage, 3 injuries, is Poisoned, and Faints from Brutal Swing. A critical hit!

Both those massive stingers made of bees lashed and thrusted, swung and buzzed. Theodore was a little taken aback by the sheer destructive power of this one Pokemon. If it was meant to take on six of them by itself, it kinda made sense, but still. He made a small aggravated noise and pulled the brim of his hat down to hide his eyes. His usual drawl further exaggerated. "Alright Fred, give it an Ember and make some space." The dog opened wide and belched fire at the bees, before turning tail and bounding away. |zwJN6FB1d20-2 Ember Vs. Bees 2d6+26 Fire Special Damage

The fire seems to help clear out some more bees, burning a great hole through part of the 'torso'. Though it swiftly fills in, it leaves the swarm a little bit sparser throughout, buzzing angrily. Growlithe hits with Ember. It's super effective!

Kai stared in horror as Kani was smashed in in blow, he had never seen anything quite like this before. The pure power that bee exuded was way too much for Kani... maybe it would be too much for Keahi... but they had to try! Kani hastily returned Kani from the field once he got his head on straight. "Burn it to Cinders, Keahi!"Keahi came out in a puff of smog, it's embers bright as it finally gets to do something. It stared at the army of bee's in a bit of excitement and trepidation. It she coiled up for a moment, preparing herself before firing off a blast of fire at the bees as she moved closer to them. Cole winced hard as Kale went down. He couldn't keep losing without doing anything. He couldn't keep getting dragged along behind everyone else, not when he wanted to lead. He gripped Habeneros ball and recalled Kale. After breathing for a moment he looked up at Casimir " You're right that there's only one Champion. But I can't temper my expectations when I'm aiming for that top. I'll go to the moon, AND BEYOND!" He throws Habeneros ball out ahead and points at the mass of bees " Habenero! Show him how bright we burn! FLAME WHEEL" The Quilava took a few running steps before rolling into a ball and erupting into flame and tumbling forwards at King Sting Cole releases Habenero and uses Brutal Training

Unfortunately, Keahi's flame goes wide, and the swarm is able to move out of the way, before diving around and repeatedly stinging at the Salandit. She's still up, but it's not looking particularly good. At least, not until Habanero comes barrelling in with a fiery dash, bursting apart the swarm, and leaving only the single lone King on the battlefield. The Beedrill glares at the Fire type, before once more swinging around with its arms. Keahi is able to duck out of the way, but the Quilava gets a long cut along his face, as the bee makes its move. Keahi misses with Ember. Keahi 51 damage and 2 injuries from Fury Attack. Beedrill is Staggered, and is no longer Schooled. Habanero takes 22 damage from Brutal Swing. Keahi is missed with Brutal Swing.

"Alright Fred, we're goin for th'longshot just like I taught ya, give'em your deadeye!" Theodore cheered as the Growlithe moved into position even further from King Sting, a feral glint in his eye before he once more belched fire, though this time the aim was a bit higher to account for distance.

Kai let's out an annoyed grunt as he watches Keahi get battered, then gives a smirk as he watches the lizard dance out of the way of the second attack. The lizard danced on it's heels for a moment, before waiting for orders. "Focus on it, your fire don't mean anything if you don't hit with it!"Keahi gave a nod, steadying itself by taking a step away from the bee, aiming itself before striking with another gout of flame from it's maw. Fred misses with his attack, but Keahi is able to pick up the slack, scoring a direct hit on the bee. It staggers under the flames, letting out a screech of pain and anger. Unfortunately, that seems to affect its focus a little, and the swing for Habanero goes wide. Growlithe misses. Bee takes an injury and is Burned from Ember. It's super effective! Bee misses with Brick Break.

" Alright Hab, keep up the heat. Hit it and then put some distance in." This is how the fights should be going from now on. This is what all his training was for. Cole keeps an intense look on his face but inside he's nearly melting in relief. Habenero jumps back from the swing and covers himself in flame once more. Spinning in the air for a moment as the fires erupt, the Quilava brings itself forward, launching off of King Sting and coming to a halt a few meters away before shaking the flames off and locking eyes with the bee. Cole uses Brutal

The fires from Habanero sizzle, and he's able to get away from the bee before it can react, singing now. The anger is palpable, and the giant insect lunges at Keahi, swinging until she goes down, before swiftly swooping back and chopping at the fleeing Quilava, getting a solid strike in as its buzzing intensifies. Sting takes an injury and is Staggered from Flame Wheel. Salandit takes 27 damage, an injury, and Faints from Brutal Swing. Quilava takes 27 damage and an injury from Brick Break.

With a last massive exhalation of fire, the bee makes a last futile lunge towards Fred before falling, smoking. "Well," Casimir says, "The King is dead, long live the challengers. Nicely done there, bringing all that fire. Sting isn't going to be too happy about all of that. Two losses in less than a day." He nods approvingly. "Anyways, congrats. You earned your first badge. Don't let it go to your head, though. Still got a long way to go, and the more badges you have, the harder the next Leader'll be. Keep on your guard. Anyways, here's the Swarm Badge." He reaches into his pocket, holding out three copies of badges that look like glittering beetles. "Good luck on your journey."
Each of you can take 250 EXP, and a Milestone. You got: Swarm Badge (grants the Vanguard Ability) END EPISODE 1
