As the camp was quickly established, the Doctor nodded her agreement, "I think setting up a watch would be sensible- this isn't like any of the places that you are from- there really haven't been people here beofre. Of course, I'd really be greatful if you let me take the shift in the dead of night- then I could do some nocturnal species observations when everything has calmed down."

"Night is my time, but I dare not intrude on your scientific endeavors." Cole crossed his arms and nodded. "As such, I will take the second shift if there are no objections."

"Why don't you all get some sleep then, I'll take first watch; Cole, then the Doc, and Aiden; if your ok with the sunrise shift."
As everyone else began to turn in, Genki went to collect some more fire wood while there was still a bit a light left, circling the encampment not to stray far. When he returned, he piled it up next to the smoldering embers, throwing a few pieces into it, breathing new life to the flames. He sat for a bit feeling the heat and light flicker on his face, as the sky turned dark and the stars came out. Wanting to see the stars, he picked a tree, hopped up to grab a sturdy branch and began to climb.
Athletics tj7J8EQ33d6
The tree was new and unfamiliar, and the darkness made in more treacherous of a climb, so Genki called out Prima to give a glow from within his hood as he finished his accent. Fining a crook in the tree, when he could both view his friends at camp and a slice of the sky, he nestled in. With Prima on his lap, the two sat in silence for a good while, watching and listening to their surroundings. Eventually the evening turned colder and Genki heard the warming call of the campfire, and returned to the surface.
"Prima, you sleep to, thanks for the assist," he whispered, calling back his friend.
When it was time for Cole's shift, he woke his brother by flinging open his sleeping bag, when Cole finally turned, Genki smiled and said, "your turn."
Walking to the stream, Genki splashed some night chilled water on his face and ran his fingers through his hair. Near the stream, he was cautious not to fall in like last time, 'how embarrassing.' He walked back and sat down next to his bother. "I'm not tired" he lied, partly out of concern for how his brother was doing with all this change, and partly because he didn't quite trust his brother with the role of camp protection. Genki was concerned, Cole might fall asleep, wonder off, get lost in thought, and also that he himself might be unnecessarily nervous.

As the group settled down to camp, Genki went to find some wood for a fire, though judging by the residual heat in the evening, it would be far more for light and the banishing of shadows than any actual heat even this close to the water. As night settled in, he decided to climb a tree, one that would give him a vantage point over the camp as the others slept, the light from Prima momentarily disturbing some of the tree's residents. As the night drew in though, the sounds began to change, the chirping of starly and taillow began to be replaced by a chirruping of bug-types in the warm evening air, even as he saw several different species nesting in the boughs around him and in the other trees. Some bug-types even began to do the same around him, even as others began to emerge into the twilight. Species of hopping bird-types as well as other flighted species came out from their roosts, filling the air with hoots and caws. It would be wrong to say that a calm descended on the island,. that was the talk of city-dwellers, those who lived in urban areas where life slowed and even stopped at night. This was a pristine idyll, the night-time activity here was no less active it was simply different.

Cole awoke to a sudden chill. Warm though it may be through the night, the cozy heat of his sleeping bag was far more so, and so the change was an unwelcome shock.
"Ghrrbllmff..." He grumbled, wiping the sleep from his eyes. Cole hadn't accounted for the grogginess of waking after such a short sleep. The night might be his, but dreams clung to him as well and wished his return. "Alright, I'm awake, leave me be, foul demon." Cole waved his brother away and stretched. After slapping himself awake, he sat with his back to the fire and gazed at the stars. As if on cue to catch Cole already slacking at his duties, Genki plopped beside him. "I'm not tired." he said.
"Liar." Cole accused, turning his attention to the fields around them. "I can feel the aura of exhaustion emanating from you. If you insist, I'll let you stay, but not long." Genki was well-intentioned, and not far off the mark either, but Cole considered this entire excursion a trial for him. The new surroundings, the plethora of people, the lack of the security, and more. It was all a test, and Cole would not fail. To that end, Cole maintained a silent vigil with his brother.
...For a short time, until Genki's head inevitably began bobbing with weariness. Cole shooed his sibling to his sleeping bag before resuming his post. He pondered a moment, before returning to his pack and rummaging through it. Cole returned to the firelight with dowsing rod in hand. He pondered a moment more, then withdrew two pokeballs and released their inhabitants. "Gustav, stay with the camp and keep an eye out for trouble. Wisp, you're with me." Gustav squawked his assent and settled down, Wisp cooed and floated to perched on his trainer's head. With a lookout and light source set, Cole decided to kill two birds with one stone, no offense to Gustav. And so, he began patrolling the chirping and chirruping outskirts of the camp, rod in hand and eyes alert. If he was to be searching for signs of trouble, Cole figured he'd might as well search for treasure as well. He began to Dowse.
Dowsing: tiSDqytq4d6 If the area counts as a beach or sandy/rocky area, add 1d6
Cole discovers a random shard on any roll of 4 or higher. On a 6, he may roll an additional die.
Whatever stones Cole may or may not have found, he returns to camp and recalls his faithful companions. With some hesitation, he kneels down and prods the good doctor with his dowsing rod, hoping to wake her.
Perhaps in this case, he should call it a Rowsing Rod.4d6·1d6

Cole awoke ready to do his duty guarding the group for several hours of the darkening night. He gave it only a few moments before he headed out into the darkness as his companionable litwick accompaniedhim granting just enough light to look for the glinting of small shards of stones of power. The light seemed to scare off any of the inhabitants of the island, they were unused to any form of light at this time and seemed to shy away from this moving, flickering flame that illuminated a small area.
Cole grabbed several different shards of glassy crystal before he managed to get back to the camp and settle himself back down within the rest of the group again. It seemed that, even with his short walk, there was nothing that would disturb the group during his late-night watch as the moon's bright light shone down and the sounds of the night began to change, from the click and whirr of insects to a gentle, melodious singing sound. Curling up in his tent with Kiba and Amber in his sleeping so they could all stay warm, Aiden falls asleep rather quickly and making sure that the Pokemon in his care were well enough that they could rest. Aiden snored softly, hokding his Pokemon close, like a mother protecting her young.

Aiden felt a gentle shaking of his shoulder, then he heard the doctor's voice, "Aiden, wake up, it's your watch, nearly mornning now." she said as he felt the gentle warmth of the beginnings of the sun on his face and filtering through his eyelids.

Genki slept, on his back, sprawled on the floor; all but one leg outside of his sleeping bag. Avi the Trapinch, snoozed peacefully on his face, covering Genki's eyes, but leaving his mouth exposed to suck in air.

"Wha---? Oh, right. I'm up. I'm up," he yawns widely sitting up and gently placing Hope on his pillow. HE gently shakes Kiba awake, "Wake up, Kiba. Time to get to work." After pulling on his jacket and his sneakers, he emerges from the tent and takes a deep breath of the cool morning air. Recalling Hope to her ball, "We need to keep an eye out while the others sleep." Petting Kiba's fur, he sets about keeping the fire going and starts his watch.

Aiden's hearing slowly acclimitised to the different sounds of the morning- the gentle chorus of flying-types as they woke from their morning roosts and a gentle bowing chirrup that filled the air like a peaceful and warming heat froma fire in the depths of winter. The air was still filled with the chill of the night and the yellow haze of morning sunlight on dew dappled grass still had a, not unpleasant, chill in it. It seemed that the night was well and truly over, the morning still not yet fully formed, most trainers would still be asleep, missing any of the potential opportunities of this idyll.

Aiden patrols the perimeter of the camp, looking for any new Pokemon signs or herbs and berries he could use for breakfast or medicines.

Aiden set out in the morning ligth to see what he might find. For several steps he thought that there would simply be nothing, this island had not been cultivated like his homelands and the wild fruits and herbs woild not necessarily be as easy to find. The sound of chirping filled his ears, a gentle, rising and falling hum much like a stringed instrument. A moment later, he emerged on a small grove that had been, from where they had been sleeping, hidden. He saw a small tree, clad in berries, bright blue even in the morning light, dangling above them,on a much larger tree were harder berries, blueon top with pointed brown lower portions. He was, it seemed, not the only one interested in these berries though. A small green blob was creeping towards the lower berries, mouth already open, inhaling deeply and causing the tree to bend. Suddenly, though, something else was in the way! A bulky, but small, black and white form, rotund with a pointed earred head. It seemed to have been awoken from a sleeping place near the bottom of the tree and was already moving, implacably, towards the huge mouth, intent on filling it with something other than juicy berries!

Aiden lets out a small gasp of surprise and chuckles, motioning to Kiba. He points to the Munchlax and says, "All right, we're going for the black and white Pokemon." Keeping the Pokemon in his sights, he calls out, "Kiba, Go! Move closer and use Ember!" When Kiba is in range, as a Swift Act he uses Intimidate.

Kiba dashed forwards, staring intently at the munchlax causing it to stop, scared for a moment, then unleashed a blast of flames at it. Though the explosion was quite powerful, causing a few nearby berries to wilt and pucker slightly, the damage to the munchlax seemed minor at best, as if its body were protecting itself from any damage that it might recieve. At that moment, the small globular mouth slammed into the munchlax and caused it to stagger back a little, even as the small biped slammed back into the mouthpiece, causing it to reel as well.

"Kiba, target the other Pokemon with an Ember. Come on out, Hope. We need your help." Grabbing Hope's ball from his belt, he tosses it into the air, releases Hope next to himself. "I think one of the brothers would like the blob Pokemon. Want to help me catch it?"Aiden releases Hope onto the field while shifting closer to Kiba.
Hope has no action after her release.

(OOC: Where's that extra +8 coming from?)
Kiba fired off another blast of flame, this time at the huge-mouthed target slamming into it and causing it to stagger back looking badly injured by the attack. It seemed to be flagging, even as it pounded against Kiba (OOC: 12 Normal Damage after Def). The munchlax, meanwhile, curled itslef up near to the berries, wrapping itself around one protectively.

(OOC: Copycat can't miss. The move it copies can, so you need to roll for hits with it. I've done it for you this time.)
Aiden quickly grabbed a ball off of his belt and threw it at the strange mouth blob, but his aim was just off enough to mean that he missed, the ball bouncing to a halt just in front of the bushes. Kiba seemed to follow suit, charging at and biting at the other but completely missing. Hope was luckier, her tiny teeth biting into it and doing it some damage, the small mouth opened wide and a yawning sound emitted suddenly reminding Kiba that it was very early in the morning. Kiba's target took advantage, smacking the pup with its body and causing him to stagger back slightly (OOC: 13 Damage After Def and Kiba is now drowsy!).
