Matt shrugs "I'm not too keen on it myself. I'm not sure they'd be able to keep up with how I fight after all" He raised an eyebrow as he looked at the small light gray one "And shoot, I'm not even sure what that one is"
"But, I'm also down for a battle if you all are. Torque could get a feel for battle on em" He says with a grin

As the group had been walking, before encountering the birds, Julie had taken a look at the safari balls, examining them a bit to see how they were constructed before clicking most of her cases onto various ones. Nothing said they were against the rules, after all. When they reached the main overlook of the park, Julie couldn't help but gasp takes a look at the birds and mentally notes them. She knew a little bit about them all, their names at the very least. However, she was a bit surprised about how the other three were acting as if they were in... control of the situation. It seemed to her that the birds had them at a disadvantage. "Well, I'm glad you guys know what you want, but I'm not sure we're really in a situation where we can... get away from them. They seem sorta angry, ya know?" She releases Tear into her arms, ready for a fight, or to run, depending on what the birds did.

Steven nods curtly at Julie's statement, grimacing slightly. "Seems like we interupted something important here. I think Julie's right on the bat with this one, we aren't getting out of this without a fight."

Not to be ignored further, the four birds suddenly took flight, sounding aggressive calls. The two Pidgey were first, flying up close to Matt and Steven and flapping their wings hard, sending up a blinding screen of sand into their eyes. From behind the sudden sandstorm, the Starly and Pidove took to swiftly to the sky, flying high above the sand and into the open air above the edge of the cliff! The two birds angled back, clearly preparing to come in for an attack! This is a surprise round for the birds. Matt and Steven are both blinded, courtesy of Sand Attack.

Oh, well, uh... that was unexpected, Val thinks. Back home, most of the time if you listened to the howls of Abomasnow or cries of Glalie, and headed in the opposite direction, you'd be fine. It was too much expenditure of energy for most things to go chasing after you in the snow, especially when all they wanted you to do was leave. That wasn't the case here. And she was going to have to try and remember that, or else it could quite possibly turn out much worse than a few birds. But, first, back to this... She releases Dinah, in between her and the birds.

Matt smirked a bit as the birds grew more agitated and began to move in, he went to release Torque, before charging in and grabbing the bird himself.
However, he hadn't expected the blast of dust into his eyes. As he went to throw the ball containing Torque, he got a little turned around, releasing the ball full force....into Julie. As the ball clatters to the ground next to her, releasing the little Klink next to the girl
Matt's eyes grew wide as he quickly tried to stammer out an apology "Julie I....It wasn't on purpose!" before realizing there was a better time for that, like when they weren't beset by vicious birds.
"Torque, time to show these birds who they're messing with!" He calls out to the Klink, hoping to help keep the little guy focused.

"Gah!" Steven reels back and tries, and fails, to cover his eyes as the sand hits his face. "Arceus damned birds! Leila, help a little, would ya?" he lobs the ball to where he could've sworn ground was, but instead of the sounds of a mon being released and the Oddish calling out, he hears a distinct THUNK and then a few moments later another distinct, and more importantly, distant thud. ... ... ... Well then... that was awkward... ... ... "F**k."
He grabs Sirius ball and releases Sirius in front of him, rather than lobbing the ball straight into a pit again. "A hand please, Sirius."

The birds take advantage of their speed and press the attack. The two Pidgey both cease their sandstorms, and split up. The first one veers off into open sky, coming face to face with a slightly confused Sirius. As the bird begins to flap its wings, ragged, sharp currents of air begin to pelt Sirius, Steven, and a nearby Torque, the poor Klink still trying to get its bearings in its first ever battle.
The other Pidgey broke right, diving down toward Julie and Tear, its wings glowing with silver, metallic energy. At the last moment, Tear wriggles free and leaps from Julie's arms, taking the attacking Pidgey head-on.
Meanwhile the Starly, the lead bird, banks back towards the cliff, coming face to face with Dinah. The bird seems to be overshadowed by a dark hue and flies forward, swiping at the Solosis with its wings as it passes. The fourth bird, the Pidove, keeps its distance...for the moment, at least.

"Damnit." Steven curses as Sirius and he are hit by the Pidgey's attack. "Sirius, sock it to them! Bullet Punch, fast!" The Riolu nods, and, showing uncanny speed, jumps up, fist darting off to the Pidgey in front of him at high pace. Sirius uses Bullet Punch with Priority. AC2:8, DB4:28 Physical Steel Type Damage

As the pokeball slams into her forehead, Julie winces and yells out a loud "OW! What the hell, Matt?" before catching herself from saying anything further. She glares daggers at Matt before turning to evaluate the situation at hand. Tear had taken the hit rather well, but everyone else... not so much... they'd have to ignore the Pidgey in front of them for now and try to relieve the stress on everyone else. "Tear, back off from this one and hit the Starly, Val needs our help." Tear nods and backs off from the pidgey, whirling around and firing a spurt of water... that flies directly over the Starly's head. Julie facepalms for a moment and then immediately regrets it, backing off from the pidgey as well with a repeated "Ow, ow, ow, stupid Matt, stupid me, ow." She then turns to face the Starly herself, taking a pokeball from her side and measuring the distance to the Starly. She breathes in deeply for a moment, centering her core, positioning her fingers in the grip that she had practiced so many time... and then tosses the pokeball. It whistles as it curves through the air, over Tear and around Dinah, before settling into the Starly with a loud THWAK, hissing as it releases its chemical compound. Julie blinks for a moment, then leap up into the air in excitement. She hit! Tear Disengages from P7 to Q6. Tear uses a Special, Water type Struggle. 4 vs AC 4, Pretty Guaranteed miss, won't bother fixing damage
Julie Disengages from O7 to P6 Julie tosses a Safari Ball with a Confusion Pester ball Spray Case! Julie uses Curve Ball on this roll. 11 vs AC 4 16 Normal Physical Damage On hit, the target is confused! 57 on the capture roll.

The Starly dodged Tear's attack easily, but not Julie's pokeball. A puff of purple smoke erupted on contact, setting the Starly to squawking as it was sucked into the pokeball. The ball plummeted from where it struck the Starly, falling to the earth below, and the Starly did not immediately return to the battle. Whether that meant it was caught or not...who could say for certain?
The Pidove, though, seemed distressed by the disappearance of its mate. The bird began flapping frantically toward the cliffside, a growing aura of darkness surrounding it as it dove at Dinah and Tear, it's dark-wreathed wings striking the pair before the bird began to pull out of the dive close to Val.

As Julie glares at him, Matt looks down and bites his lip for a moment, before calling out to Torque "Alright, Shock em good buddy!"
The little Klink spins its body long enough to begin to spark, before bashing into the nearest Pidgey. Matt pumps his fist into the air "Good job! Keep that up and you'll win in no time"

Steven frowns a bit as he sees the others get a beating as well, before grabbing one of the Safari Balls they'd gotten on entrance and lobbing it at the Pidgey that had just attacked them. The ball hit, sucking up the bird and plummeting down. Whether the bird would stay in was a second, of course. But at least it was out of the fight for now. "Sirius, take out the flying rat, would ya. Bullet Punch on Pidove, stat!" Sirius nods, before darting off and connecting a rapid punch with the Pidove's side. Steven makes a Capture Attempt! AC4: 17, CC: 80 Sirius uses Bullet Punch! AC2: 16, DB4: 24 Physical Steel Type Damage

The Pidgey out over the cliff disappeared into the pokeball as it made contact, and the ball fell away into the valley below. The Pidove took a nasty hit from Sirius and was slightly dazed, but was otherwise fine and able to battle.
The Pidgey looked about, finding itself surrounded, and dove at Sirius and Tear, its wings glowing with silver-white energy. Breaking through the pokemon, it dove toward a nearby tree, hoping to find cover.

With the diving bird having taken out Dinah and ending right near her, Val jumps back a little bit, startled. But then she glares at the bird, and deftly recalls Dinah, before calling out her new acquisition. "Ajax, bring it down! Show 'em why you're the top predator."Val disengages, recalls Dinah, and releases Ajax.
Ajax uses Poison Fang on Pidove. 2 vs AC2 on a Flanked enemy (-2 evasion) for 28 Physical Poison damage.

The snake struck with lightning speed, its fangs sinking into the Pidove's wing, but only just. Fortunately for the bird it was a dry bite, with little or no venom, but the force of the strike did make the Pidove seem uneasy on its wings. It fluttered weakly and looked as though it may very well fall from the sky at a stiff breeze.

Julie looks at the situation, and her eyes light up when she sees the Pidove low, but still flying. Her instincts kick in, and she reaches to her side, grabbing a safari ball with a lock case and snapping it at the bird. She doesn't even look at Tear as she does so, too intent on the pokeball capture. "Tear, hit the Pidgey with a Bubble. And make sure not to hit anyone else, please." Tear would nod and bounce over a little ways, then begin foaming at the mouth, releasing a giant cloud of bubbles, completely disappearing beneath them while pelting the Pidgey. Tear moves to R6 and uses Bubble. 8 vs AC 2, 22 special water type damage.

Steven frowns slightly as the bird went for Sirius. "Don't just take that, Sirius! Counter!" The Riolu nodded, before bracing himself for the strike, just barely remaining standing, glowing slightly before unleashing energy, jumping after the Pidgey before hitting it with the blast. Sirius uses Counter as a Reaction! Disengaging to the bird. Taking 10 Damage, so 20 damage to the Pidgey's face

The pokeball struck the Pidove, and it was absorbed into the ball. The ball shook violently several times, and for a split second you could see light peeking through the seam between the two halves of the pokeball, despite the lock case...but finally the ball stopped shaking. The red light dissipated with a pleasant chime. The Pidove had been caught! Pidove. Level 4, Female. Super Luck Ability, Distracted Nature, knows the move Night Slash. +Charm, -Intimidate. Sirius managed to counter the Pidgey's sweeping Steel Wing, following up and striking the bird hard. It seemed to stagger for a minute before slipping from its branch and falling out of the tree. Just before it hit the ground, though, it caught itself in midair, frantically flapping off as fast as it could, leaving the battle effectively at an end. 2 Trainer EXP and 28 Pokemon EXP per person, to be divided up among participants.

Steven sighs in relief as the Pidgey flies off. Sirius would not have keep standing for much longer, the way things were going. "Well then, wasn't that fun!" he exclaims, grinning. He then begins to move in the direction the birds had come from, looking around to find anything out of the ordinary. "I'm curious what had those birds' feathers in a bunch like that..."Perception: 15
