Genki and Cole emerged back into the bright sunlight of the island. Still the small settlement thronged with the many trainers who were still moving about the new settlement. Some though had clearly already begun venturing out, several towards the nearby woodland, grassland and even the beaches on either side of the port for the town. They all looked like they would be very noisy and busy, no matter how quiet the trainers tried to be.

Once Genki finished his run, feeling refreshed, and enjoying the sights, ran into his brother Cole, panting and out of breath. "I saw a lot of trainers, but not much by way of pokemon. The day is getting on, lets go check in with Professor Sage at the lab."

Aiden will rest on the bed for a half hour with his Pokemon before getting up and heading out to talk to the nurses to offer his services should they need any help.

After a short while, the trainers had finished some of their acclimitising, then they set out to see some of the few adults on the island. They were there to ensure that the careful balance of the island was maintained as well as ensuring that the trainers were safe and productive as well as developing the island in a way that facilitated more trainers arriving. Of course, this was likely to be a difficult task with so many trainers running about.
Suddenly, the sounds of screaming and running broke the air as many of the trainers from the beach suddenly charged up into the settlement and scattered in all directions. At first it was unclear what had caused this sudden rush of trainers, but a moment later the details became clear as a boat suddenly roared into view. Though it wasn't as big as those which had brought the trainers here, it was still large enough to accommodate a number of people comfortably. The boat slammed itself onto the beach, driving a distance up it. A moment later explosions fired all around the boat, sending weighted nets flying in all directions and falling over many of the trainers still near to the beach. As the explosions cleared a number of people jumped from the boat, each of them holding a net launcher in their hands.

Cole hunched , supporting his weight on his knees as his breathlessly greeted Genki.
"You left... so suddenly..." he panted. "I was not... prepared for that."
Truth be told, that Aiden fellow seemed to be a good person, but Cole was unaccustomed to socializing alone and fled in his panic. Chiding himself for the awkward exit, Cole resolved to apologize to his bunk neight for his rudeness. Well, he'd try to at least. Cole spotted Gustav overhead. The presence of his longtime friend (and longtime brother) had set his nerves straight. He gratefully accepted Genki's offer to meet Professor Sage with him.
At least until the screaming started. Cole's tired eyes shot open in shock as he witnessed people and Pokemon alike ensnared by the sudden siege on the beach. He hesitated. If he ran now, he would almost certainly escape to a safer location unharmed. The bunks, the lab, maybe even the S.S. Spiral. He could take cover and wait for disaster to blow over while more qualified people took care of the situation. But what more qualified people? With perhaps the exception of the professors and their assistants, there were no established organizations on the island. There was no security detail or police force Cole was aware of, and even if there were there was no way there was more than a handful of members. The whole purpose of shipping do many trainers here at once was to build up a functioning town, nobody else was here. Cole didn't have a choice. He ran, against the screaming of his instincts he ran headlong for the beach. Forgetting his fatigue, Cole glanced back to the skies.
"Gustav! Destiny is calling!" After all, Cole was not an accomplished trainer. He had no badges and only three Pokemon, none of which he caught for himself. Cole had to wonder if perhaps he was the least capable trainer on the entire island. Still, as Gustav's black wings tucked back and he dove towards his trainer, Cole felt himself filled with energy. It was time to find out what they could really do.

Seeing the flames Genki's instinct was to help, calling on his Chinchou to extinguish the fires, but he was halted when he saw people disembarking and assaulting others with nets. He scooped up his Chinchou, and that's when Cole broke away.
"Wait Cole!" He had no problem keeping pace with his brother, "don't you tbink this is a bit rash? I'm not saying we should run, but I think we should head to the lab, regroup, make sure the professors are safe, and make our stant there. Not in this Chaos."

"Hope, Kiba, Return!" said Aiden as he recalled his partners and running towards the door to make it outside. He will push through anyone who is trying to make their way into the building. Making it outside, he begins surveying the area for injured.

Moving outside or to survey the scene more closely, the trainers could see through the clearing smoke that the trainers near the beach had been captured under heavy nets, the explosive charges creating only loud sounds and huge black smoke clouds that had obscured vision for several moments. Now, the group of trainers were heading up the beach, their net guns barking out several times catching the last few fleeing trainers on the beaches. Each of these interlopers wore tough and hard-wearing outdoor clothing, slightly damp from the boat journey. "Ok, listen up here trainers. You have one choice- leave this island or suffer. We are going to liberate this island from your terrible and dangerous influence on this pristine place. We don't intend to hurt anyone, but we willif we have to. Now, clear away from the powerplant, Centre and lab and you won't be harmed by the blasts." one of them shouted as he hefted a package in one hand, some sort of magnetic clamp on its underside.
Aiden cast his eyes about, but in the confusion, could see no signs of any who were particularly injured, save for the effects of those under the nets.

'This is all wrong,' Genki thought to himself, 'this was supposed to be an exciting new adventure, I'm a Pokemon trainer!'
All around him were faces of panic and indecision. He could see the pain and shattered hopes of those bogged down by nets. Things would surely get worse before they got better.
His internal processes began to fire 'What are my options: a) stand up to these men, take a net to the face and roll around on the ground. b) attack with Chinchou, we both take a net to the face and roll around on the ground. c) run, leaving Cole with that look on his face, so he can take a net to the face... and roll around on the ground. d) head to the power plant and blow up. or e) head to the labs and... well, see option d.'
He knew he had to be smart, and if he was going down, let it at least be with a plan, "Look Cole, you're brave, so brave, but look around, people are in disarray. If you fight here, others might just get hurt, and did I mention nets? If they are going to blow up the labs, they have to set the bombs right? they just got here." His voice was calming down, and building confidence, "We've got to be smart, be brave and smart Cole. We need to make a stand at the labs, get as many trainers as we can to go there, we know that's where they wan to go. We were all chosen because there is greatness in us, we can do this!"
Looking around to take in the unfolding scene and spotting a familiar face doing the same, "Look there's Aiden, let's get him on board. What do you say bro, you with me?"

Cole swallowed. His brain had been searching for a way to wrest back control of his body, but his heart was dead set on playing the hero. Genki's reasoning was the ammunition Cole's brain needed to rein in his overzealous heart. As much as Cole wanted to help the Pokemon and Trainers trapped in front of him, they had a better chance of driving off the invaders if they presented a unified fromt. Running away may be out of the question, but a tactical retreat was not.
"You're right." Cole nodded. "We can better accomplish something together with as many trainers are willing. At the very least, somebody has to warn the labs of what these people intend. Let's see who we can get to come with us."
Cole approached a few fleeing trainers on his way to Aiden, trying to direct them towards the lab. It took less courage than he expected to approach a stranger, let alone instruct them, but these were dire times and his soul was bolstered by the call of destiny.
"Aiden! Sorry about running off so rudely!" Cole blurted, clearly having his priorities in line. "We're going to make a stand at the Labs. As much as I hate to abandon all the pokemon and people who have already been caught, we can't do anything if we get caught ourselves. You look like a strong trainer and we could really use your Growlithe's support. We'll probably need you to treat whatever injuries result too, I doubt these guys will fall without a fight." Cole stood resolute amongst the panic around them. "Will you join us?"

"Yes," the simple word carried weight[/] to it. The jovial smile in Aiden's eyes was gone and he looked determined. "If you see an injured person, try and help them along. Spread the word along any trainers here about what we are doing."
His eyes dart around the crowd, looking for the "enemies" threatening the excited new adventurers.
"Let's go!" he will follow Genki and Cole, keeping an eye out so they weren't waylayed from behind.

"Alright, lets fan out," he spoke as the group moved, "stay within eyesight, and at the first sign of trouble bunch up again. Tell everyone you can, and tell them to spread the word. I'm going to gather up any stragglers in the dormitories. The Goal is the labs, let's be quick, and Aiden, Thanks."
Genki hoped he was making the right call, the power plant could blow, but with trainers around, a lot of people would get hurt, sure the lab could blow too, but surely it would be less volatile. Besides, if everything did go belly up, the professors would be the best hope for a plan B. Popping into the dorms, his voice rang like a Klaxon, "let's move everyone, this is not a drill, the Island is under attack. Every able bodied trainer get to the labs now! We are making a unified stand there, tell everyone you see; let's show them why we were chosen to be on Neo Island!"
On his way out, he advised the shopkeeps in a much softer, protective tone, "When everyone is gone, lock all the doors, and stay away form the windows."
Not waiting for any responses, hoping people would take action, Genki popped back outside. He could see Aiden and Cole making progress, and a moment later, exchanged brief eye contact with his brother. With everything in motion, and his brothers support, his resolve strengthened, doubt melted away. With a caring squeeze of his Chinch, he set off closer to the labs, ushering any trainers in this path to join him.

Genki called into the dorms, but quickly realised that the only people inside were the two nursing come shop staff, they didn't seem to have any abililty to do anything beyond looking concerned and prepping their healing equipment in all of its many forms.
As the rest of the group made their way back towards the labs, they saw the newcomers moving up the beacj, having mopped up the rest of the trainers who had been on the beach. They moved to some of the pre-fabricated buildings and each snapped a small box onto them with practiced ease before moving higher up and towards the labs and the power plant, splitting into three pairs with small boxes and net guns in hand.

Cole focused on keeping his breathing steady as the nearest pair of interlopers approached their position in front of the labs. Flight was no longer an option, so instead he was internally debating how to escape from a net should he wind up getting hit.
"You're not going any further." Cole called out, supressing the shakiness in his voice. He and Gustav, perched on his shoulder, leered at the newccomers in tandem. "You bring violence and destruction to this paradise of destiny and oppurtunity, and yet you claim the moral high ground? No," Cole reached out and clutched a fist. "Don't make me laugh. If anyone here is unwelcome, it is villains like you who only know how to accomplish things through violence." He cast away his hand and stepped forward, hoping that maybe his display of bravado would stop a fight before it began. "But if violence is the only laguange you speak, we're more than willing to let our Pokemon show you the error of your ways"
"When we finish here, we need to check on the Power Plant." He muttered to his comrades. "They are in danger too, so we need see if any trainers there managed to hold them off." Cole wasn't as sure of their victory as his words suggested, but he had to force himself to sound that way for the sake of everyone present. With one finally steadying breath, he took another step forward as Gustav took wing, ready for battle.

"Who are you and why are you doing this?" asked Aiden as he stepped forward, a few feet between him and Genki. His eyes studying the interlopers making sure he would be able to act if they went for their nets. "Genki, let's face them together. Strength in numbers." He released Kiba from its ball, and it appeared ready to act. "Kiba, you ready to help?"

"So long as we've got a plan..." Genki thought aloud, "Let's do this!"
He squared his shoulders and braced for combat. These people had no more right to this island than anyone else, and harmony and threatening others puts them in the wrong. Seeing the intruders placing the boxes on other structures gave Genki the feeling he was right about them not having pre-planted any explosives; this gave them a chance to stop the intruders.

The pairs of interlopers moved forwards, one moved off to the left and the powerplant, the other two headed more straight-up and towards the laboratory and services. Their eyes swept over the buildings as they did so, searching for any signs of final resistance. As they reached the three trainers gathered near to the laboratory they stopped, each of the four reaching to their belts for a Pokéballs and readying them to throw at the first sign of trouble, one, perhaps the leader, sneered at Cole's speech, "Really? We are destroying things? Consider this, before you and your so-called 'scientists' arrived here, this was a perfect beach, krabby and exeggcute roamed here freely. At the treeline there were many other species, and the treeline also came down all the way to the beach, now, there is this vast swathe of cleared land. That isn't perfect by any means. This is destruction, like we have done to the rest of the world. Species have become rarer ever since we decided we were civilised- now somebody has to fight back. We must protect this island and ensure that it is unmarred by the hands of the least harmonious species on this world- mankind."

"You speak like you're not harming anything or anyone," Genki protested, "what kind of effect do you think explosions will have on the pokemon and their eniornment you seem to care so much about? Your going to blow up a power plant no less, it will be so nice to see all those krabby and exeggcute playing in their toxic crater!"
After a pause to take a breath and cool down he continued, "this island was made hospitiple but no les than Professor Oak a long side many of the other top minds in the field of pokemon; people who care about pokemon at the utmost. Do you really think they wouldent take care to colonize in the most poke-friendly way possible?"
He took a moment to survay the people and lands around them, "Yes, the land is changing, it always has, in the name of progress, but we were all chosen to be here for our passion for pokemon, and because something special was seen in us to be the best to introduce the native species of this island to the human race. There are much better ways to achieve what you claim to stand for: wildlife and plant conservation, pokemon sanctuaries, land preserves, endangered species protection groups, poke-rescue and poke-abuse clinics. You claim we are harming the pokemon and their land, yet you are the ones with the explosives."
Placing Chinchou in front of him, his unhooked his other two pokeballs from his belt, holding one in each hand defiantly, "If you plan on reeking any more havok, then we're here to stop you!"
