Trying to avoid the mess currently happenign from Danny's reappearance, Zach makes his way towards the shopping district, following the tram lines. The first eatery to come into view is the spot they had lunch in: Mega Slowburritos.

Walking past he notes that there doesn't seem to be a lot of restaurants about around here. He travels a while further and reaches a 3-way intersection. The road going south seems to lead to a large open air market, and he can smell some freshly made hot food coming from there... some sweet, some meat, all treat.

Zach turns south, heading into the market. Maybe it was time to make up for the loss at the contest grounds... He looks around, wondering if there was anything to catch his eye.
Speaking of those contest grounds, once he gets into the square he is able to see the signage for the contest building on the opposite side of it. Well, he'll know where that is now. Closest to him is a crepe shop, offering freshly made crepes for sale. Further in he can see a stall selling vegetables. There's another selling all manner of bread and cakes, but doesn't look to be freshly makign them here. He can smell barbecue meat as well, and there are all kinds of non-food stals set up as well.

Zach quickly approached, a smile on his face. "Do you mind if I take over this stall? I can pay you for the remainder of the time you had on it, if you like..." He offers, pulling out his wok. "I'm hopping to make a bit of money myself, as well as spread my name..." He left the drama in his group out, figuring it wasn't important.
"Sure, just let me finish packing up" He puts away the last of his things and then leads you to one of the permanent buildings around the square. It's a relatively small office building with a desk in the entryway. A woman is sitting at the desk. The stall owner speaks to her. "So I need to head off early, and this young man wants to rent the stall for the other half of the day."

She thinks about this. "Bring me a sample in 15 minutes, something salty. You can use the stall space to prepare it and if you pass muster you can keep using it til 6. That's when the market packs up."

Salty... Zach nodded and hurried back to the stall to get started. After a minute of thinking, he came up with an idea of how to enjoy salty snacks on the go! He hurried back, nearing his time limit and holding a small cup. He placed it triumphantly on the table, along with some sweet tasting mustard. In the cup were about half a dozen small balls of golden dough, lightly adorned with shimmering crystals of salt. The smell alone was magnificent, and the cherri berry-sized pretzel balls seemed to let off a soft radiance.
She picks up one of the balls delicately with two fingers and looks at it as light glistens off the salt crystals. She pops it in her mouth, all at once, chewing away. When she swallows, she takes a moment before looking at you and saying. "I'll want another cup of these when you're done." That seems to be her way of saying you're good to go.

On his way back, Zach peeks into his scrap bag, and realizes he's running low. He hurries to purchase ingredients, spending a large chunk of his money in order to fill his bag nice and full. This should last him a bit!
Zach hurries back to his stall, letting Cass out again to act as his furnace, and quickly gets to work. He lays out a sample of the Pretzel bites for passersby to try, and begins to hum while he works, calling out to passersby to try his food. His menu consists of Pretzel Bites (Salty Surprise), a distilled, condensed Coffee Pastry, which is a fluffy, almost croissant-like treat that gives a wonderful, almost cloudlike texture next to the bitterness of coffe (Bitter Treat), a simple skewer of sweet, sweet dangos that almost melt in your mouth and make you think of the spring (Sweet Confection), a delectably spicy Torchic wrapped in fresh lettuce and a lightly seasoned tortilla, drizzled with a pepper sauce and some cheese (Spicy Wrap), a chewy, nearly tear-inducing mochi ball that shimmers like an emerald in the sunlight (Sour Candy), a sweet smelling block of pink bait sure to entice pokemon (Bait), small jars of baby food on offer as asked, and sizable blocks of chocolate for sale (Candy Bar.)
The prices for each meal were 125, and 75 for each bar or jar of baby food. He decided to give his pokemon a break and just have Cass out, giving her a snack when she was hungry, and affectionate scritches behind the ears for being such a good sport.

Zach spends most of the first hour cooking, though a few of the passerbys seem to notice the stall. As the hour is coming to a close and he's got the stall nicely set up, a child points to one of the sweet dango skewer and begs his mom for one. She comes over. "I haven't seen your stall around before."
Madman that spent half a year describing one city in Ceres and then held a Feast of the Gods
He nods, grinning as he flips a fresh dango skewer out of his wok for the child. "My friends and I just arrived in town today! My name is Zachary, and this is Cass!" The little Cyndaquil chitters out a greeting, munching on a misformed mochi ball. "There uh... was a bit of drama, so I left to clear my head. I'm looking to be a chef, so I thought I'd challenge a shop... But this is a good second. Hard to believe we only became trainers a few days ago..." He gets a bit of a wistful look, then shakes it off. "Sorry, you didn't come here to listen to me reminisce! We'll probably be in town a few more days, so I may stop by the market again if I can! Or I might see if one of the bigger restaurants is up for a challenge." He grins, offering the freshly skewered, jiggling dango to the child. "Here ya go kiddo. Eat it while it's fresh!"

Seya
Hi there! I'm Seya, a 24 y.o. editor in Atlantic Canada. I enjoy writing, reading, webcomics, art, worldbuilding, and video games (I can talk for ages about SotC and Monster Hunter...). Although I'm relatively new to playing Pokémon Tabletop via forum, I've been putting together sites like this for a long time, and I'm really excited to work with you all to create an awesome environment for Pokémon roleplay. While my job here is primarily to keep the site running smoothly, I'm always happy to chat, offer advice, and deal with any problems you run across. Let me know if I can be of any help. Inbox is always open! Cheers! xx :)
Slytherclaw
Hello! I'm Sly, the East Coast mod representative! I'm a 22 year old tax accountant who is exactly as exciting as that sounds, I'm sure. PTU is my major hobby, I run several games (of which the Geode games are my pet project), and I read a disgusting amount of fanfiction. I've been a member of the community for about a year, consider myself more GM material than player material, and am dedicated to helping make your time here enjoyable! If there's ever anything you need, don't be afraid to send me an owl! (Or a PM, I guess, if that works better for you.)

Hey there! I’m DataNinja, the West Coast representative. I'm the most active Staff member on here, so if you need something, try giving me a poke first, and I'll see if I can help sort out your problem. Always happy to help!
(1 May 2015): "For our first pack, we’re focusing on utility character options. Hopefully, this will give you both interesting insights into our dev process as we make changes over time and another focused avenue to give us feedback on what you’d like to see out of PTU."
(27 Sept 2015): "No theme to it this time, just miscellaneous changes to range from rejiggering old Classes to streamlining core mechanics to making balance adjustments."
(22 Feb 2016): "Most of our playtest packets deal with Classes or Items, so it's time we had one that dealt with the most important thing of all: Pokemon!"
People are out there, yes, but if you're looking for a game, sorry to say that things seem to be winding down overall. There's basically been... 3 games in the last 2 years, none of which got off the ground.

It's very slow, yes. You'll probably finish working on your game before one pops up here, and if you create a recruitment for it you can expect to be swarmed with applicants.

New games seem to open up slowly here, but if new people are still welcome, I don't mind waiting around (or working on my own). It looks like there's some useful stuff to browse in the meantime.

Keep an eye on the recruitment area of this website. They're rare nowadays, but any new games that crop up will show up there. If it's a live game you want though, you're outta luck.

Basically, GMs post recruitments in the appropriate section, and then players apply to the open games. Unfortunately, there has been a rather... small amount of games posted lately, but there's one currently recruiting right now.
