With the foe's aura telling him where to strike, Ruairidh, slams his palm straight into the center of the enemy, and hits home. More bits of it fall off, and it seems to almost sieze up after it changes shape. In fact, now it matches the shape of the one that he had just destroyed.
Blaire releases her energy in a cascade of pent up rage, and it swiftly fells the two symbols next to her, as they dissipate into nothingness.
Ruairidh, taking a moment to survey the battlefield, notices a brief glow build up in the woman's aura, before a streak of blue energy launches from her to destroy the last symbol in front of him. She runs over to Braxton, leaning over top of him. "Braxton? Are you there?"
"It seems as if it's time for you to wake up now... I hope you stay far away from here until your time comes..."
With that, Braxton notices a light above him - or is it below - that's getting bigger and bigger. With a flash, it engulfs him.
When Braxton opens his eyes, the first thing that he can see is a worried Lillian crouched down, and leaning over him, looking worried.

"What are you? Is it you who has cursed me as Lillian said? What do you require of me?"
Braxton shielded his eyes from the light as it raced to meet him and suddenly his eyelids fluttered open.
"L...Lillian? How did you get here? How are Blaire and Ruairidh?"
He winced from the pain, he was not feeling lovely.

"Oh, good, you're still alive," she breathes, sighing. "You didn't make it easy to find you. I had to track your aura. What were you thinking going off on your own, without getting me? Oh, ah, we should get you back to the center." She suddenly seems to realize that Braxton isn't really in the right state to be berated, and sheepishly backs off.
"Your companions are fine, if a little tired," she says, giving a reassuring tone. "But we should get you all back to the Center before any more of those...whatever they were...come. hope there aren't more. I don't know if Blaire and Ruai could hold them off... and, uh, I really don't like the feeling of using my aura to hurt anything."

Braxton smiled weakly and winced "I am sorry Lillian. I wanted to let you rest, and I was not exactly intending on this to happen. I simply saw some movement and decided to investigate; suddenly, I was surrounded. I am not sure what exactly it was that I was assaulted by, but this was not an intentional endeavour.
Ruairidh, Blaire, thank you. You fought very well and I would likely not be here had it not been for you.
I am sorry that you had to use your aura in this way. I only wish I had been able to hold them off more effectively to avoid you having to put yourself in danger like that."
Braxton used the wall to pull himself to his feet. "In any case, we will want to get these guys rested and healed a bit if we want to see what this noise is about refilling the spring."
As Braxton began limping back, he thought of the voice he heard. It was a disturbing experience, and one that raised more questions than answers.

"What's done is done," she says, reaching for his hand and squeezing it. "All we can do is move forwards."
Luckily, nothing of any import happens on the way back. Well, other than some concerned looks at Braxton.
Going into the Center, the Attendant on duty winces. "Wow, man," she says. "You didn't leave that long ago... What the Void happened to you?"

Braxton coughed and let out a soft chuckle "Seems I had another alleyway run-in. I don't seem to have a good track record with alleys it would seem."
Braxton handed over his pokeballs. "I am most worried about these guys. Can you have a look and make sure they're alright please?"

"Oh, yes, certainly," she says, taking the Pokéballs. "They'll be done in a few hours. Would you like to lie down in the back? I can guarantee there are no alleyways back there." The last bit is accompanied by a joking smile.

Braxton looked over to Lillian,
"Are you alright out here, or would you like to come back? I think getting off my feet may be advisable in this circumstance."

"I'll do whichever you're most comfortable with," she says. "As long as you don't run off again if I stay out here," she finishes mock-sternly, but Braxton sees a little glint in her eye.

"I'm afraid I can make no such promises. I don't know if I've been beaten quite enough yet.
If you're ok coming in it would be nice to have some company." if they are alone back there. If they are not, he will stay mostly within his own thoughts while waiting for his pokemon. Braxton lay down and his mind was racing. Once he was sure nobody was listening, he told Lillian about what he saw, wondering if she might know anything about that.

"Sure, I'll come with you," she says.
This early in the day, there doesn't seem to be anyone else in the back of the center, so the two of you are alone.
"Wait... what? What happened?" she asks, a little loud, before going quiet. When next she speaks, it's in hushed tones. "Well... if I know my theology - and I'd like to think I might - then you're lucky to be still alive. There are very few tales of people successfully leaving the Distortion World... So, if you can figure out why you could leave... that might narrow down which deity has taken an interest in you."

Braxton frowned, "I am not sure. I fear I may be going mad.
I think. I think it said something about something tying me to life and that I don't have much baggage. It said that was admirable, but I can't be sure what it meant by that.
I can't help but think it was all some hallucination."

"Well, don't worry," Lillian says, sounding like she's trying to be reassuring, "Even if you are crazy, I'll stick by you."
"Well, near death experiences have been known to cause visions..." she offers, tentatively.

Braxton clenched his jaw and became very pensive, he lay back and stared at the ceiling while waiting for the pokemon to return.

Lillian doesn't interrupt Braxton's thinking, remaining silent until the Attendant returns. "Well, here you go," she says, handing Braxton the Pokéballs. "All happy and healthy. And hopefully you're feeling better, too?"Braxton is restored to full heath. Or... as full as injuries allow.

Braxton smiled and reached out for the pokeballs."I am not 100%, but I think it'll take some time to get there."
He turned to Lillian, "I want to know what those things were and what they were doing here."

"That's what I'd like to know, too..." she replies, softly. "I've seen some strange things in my life, but never anything like them..."

Braxton groaned slightly as he stood and frowned, "I was hoping you might have known what they were. They seemed almost immaterial. They seemed to fade into the walls. If they were Pokemon, I don't think I've seen anything like them before. Anyway, shall we go take a look around and see what we can see?"

"I hope you aren't meaning to go back there..." she says, sounding worried. "What if there are more of them about? I don't know if you're in the right shape to handle that. That's the problem when the only way you can solve a problem is by punching it," Lillian says this last bit teasingly, with a wink and a small smile.

Braxton frowned."I would like to think that you know me better than that. I did not incite such an assault, nor did I mean to go particularly looking for a fight. I meant to search for this person who claims to be able to revive the lake. I somehow think these may be linked. If we happen to notice anything suspicious along the way... well I will be more wary."
